Although Stationary Traveller is a concept album, it musically falls into line with its predecessor The Single Factor, which found Camel trying to refashion themselves as the Alan Parsons Project. Where The Single Factor suffered from Camel's attempts to write pop hooks, Stationary Traveller finds the band breaking down the barriers, opening up their relatively concise songs with long, atmospheric instrumental passages. The album's lyrics, which were written by Susan Hoover, is about the divided Berlin and its political, emotional and physical divides. Often, the lyrics and music -- which work as individual entities -- don't quite work together, since they follow different emotional directions, yet the record remains a worthwhile listen, especially since it features Andy Latimer on pan flute. © Daevid Jehnzen /TiVo

Im from out of town and decided to go in this cute little shop. I went in thinking that the shop was so cute and cozy but I was asked 3 times from 3 different people about how they can help me. When I first walked in I was greeted by a young lady near checkout. She stared at me longer than needed and I knew right away that they will definitely watch me browse the store. At first, I was thinking about the way I was dressed to be perceived differently, but my outfit didn't look indecent at all. When browsing, I can see from my peripheral view that they would pretend to be working near me or talk to a customer near me. This is such a small shop to be stealing from. Beware if you look raggedy that day.

Helpful staff. Nice selection. Bright and relaxing shopping environment. A little bit of everything you need.

The BEST card selection and all around terrific stationery store. Many, many great gift items including gorgeous stationery, notepads, calendars, gift boxes; paper,party supplies; large selection of office, supplies, and more! Plus extremely nice owners and staff. Highly recommended!

The new owners are incredibly nice. Selection is similar to what the store had previously, there just seems to be a few more local artists for the cards. It's a treat to go there with all of the beautiful wrapping papers, ribbons, pretty paper plates & napkins, gift boxes and bags, stationery, and other classy things, etc.

I always find really darling cards and stationery there for every occasion, stickers, pretty wrapping paper and ribbons, and calligraphy pens. The service has always been very nice, even when I had to return something that was unopened. I have never had any of the problems the other reviewers described, and recommend them without reservation.

Excellent selection of cards and gift boxes, stickers, pre-printed stationary and calligraphy pens for my Valentine's Day needs. The lady that waited on me was very helpful and patient even though it took me about a half hour to make all my selections. I will definitely go back.

This review has nothing to do with the quality of the products, rather with the treatment and classism of the workers or owners, if you need certain standards of dress to buy a gift wrap, put it on a sign at the entrance, and don't do feel people the way you made me feel, that because I was in uniform you laughed at me and followed me like a thief into the store, I can pay the cost of your products but I don't buy simply because of your attitude and of course I WILL NEVER RETURN AND I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE WHO HAS NOT SEEN FORM TO GO TO THIS PLACE

Finally, there are beautiful white lights and garland decorating the shelves and a Christmas Tree glowing in the window at Spencer's! I bet you can even walk in and shop while sipping your cup of coffee!! Wonderful!! Wishing the new owners good luck and a prosperous 2023!

I got kicked out of the store. I've never been asked to leave anywhere in my life, so at least it was a novel experience for me. And actually, they didn't even have the courtesy to speak to me. It was Valentine's Day and I had several Valentine cards to give, and had been to Spencers before, so I went in to see their selection. As I was perusing the Valentine cards, my cell phone rang, and I knew I had to answer it, as it might have been a doctor with an update. I quieted the ring, turned and headed for the door, when a drabbly dressed saleswoman raised her arm and pointed imperiously to the outside. Yes, I had hesitated for a moment with my hand on the half-door because I needed to say hello so that the person on the line knew that I was there, and because it was raining outside and I needed to put up the hood on my rainhat. This is the worst treatment I have ever had in a commercial establishment, and is a truly shameful way to treat customers. No love here, and so long Spencers! I then wound up going to the CVS drugstore, and spending over $80. on cards, gifts and chocolate.

i popped in as a tourist and was so delighted to browse the everflowing shelves of this store. the owner was incredibly nice, recommended me some beautiful things based on what I had picked up already. You could find everything here! cards, food paperware, notebooks, and even day to day office supplies. this store is such a pleasure to explore!

A beautiful selection of cards stationary and art supplies. I drop by every year I visit Carmel.

Delightful store filled the finest quality merchandise. It's a "must visit" if you're at or near the Crossroads shopping village.
