We enjoyed our cruise yesterday for the most part. It feels like we are here just a bit early in the summer season so the boat was no at all crowded (it says it can hold 1000 people but there were 300 at most). So the check in process was easy peasy and there was plenty of room to wander around the boat for different views. There is a mix of indoor and outdoor (some covered but some not) seating options. If you go when it is busy I imagine you need to get there early to stake out your spot then plan to remain there. The lake is beautiful and it was a great way to really get a fell for its overall size. I had expected (hoped) for a bit more narration, but what we had was quite informative. The staff were very accommodating to turn up the volume so we could hear better (again if the boat is full it may be harder to hear). In between narrations they played music (rock n roll!). They don't allow ANY outside food or beverage. They do provide cups and a free ice water dispenser. There is a bar with limited types of sodas but mixed drinks, beer and wine are available to purchase. There is a cafe with a decent selection of menu items. You have to scan a upc code to see the menu (bar drink menus are printed and plentiful). And you then order/pay online. In theory they text you when your order is ready to be picked up. But luckily we went down to check and the order had not gone thru. The bar tender (she was VERY clear that she was the bartender and NOT a waitress) said the system was broken (although it had taken our money). So, until we went and checked our food had not begun cooking. The cheeseburgers were actually pretty good. The bartender top had quite an attitude (with us and others). And the lady running the gift shop (quite large for a pleasure boat we thought) was clearly unhappy to be at work. We saw her rolling her eyes at many of the customers. in her defense, there was a school group on board and they were getting on everyone's nerves. Which brings me to my final issue with the cruise. There were approx 40 students (based on the t shirts they were all wearing we'd have to say 6th graders) who ran wild around the ship the entire cruise. They had a huge private room to be in but it seemed that was just the place for the parents/teachers to hang out as they were largely not present to manage their students. We saw one child fall down the stairs with no adults any where to be seen. We could tell by to looks and comments of other passengers that we were not the only passengers bothered by these kids. They truly ruined the whole cruise for us. And my gripe is that only one time did a boat crew member ever say anything to these kids. They really should have intervened firmly and early for the enjoyment and safety of everyone, To the Salem school group who was on the boat on 5/31/24........you should be ashamed of how you represented your school.

We were in the area early in the day and called to inquire about taking a cruise. We were informed that all cruises were full for the remainder of the day. As hanging up, we asked if there was a dinner cruise tonight(it was a Saturday). The young girl who answered the phone stating there were a few tickets available, but all reservations had to be made online. We had already attempted to look up information prior to calling, and it stated, " the site could not be found," which is what prompted us to call in the first place. We were told she couldn't take reservations over the phone. We then asked if we could stop at the boarding dock and pick up/reserve tickets, and we were again told that reservations were unable to be taken over the phone. We overheard another tour staff repeatedly tell the girl on the phone to tell us to go online and make the reservation. We informed her again that the site wasn't allowing us into the website but also informed her that we could hear her co-worker making statements in the background. She finally agreed to make the reservation for us over the phone, which went quicker than the first half of our call. We were informed that the dinner cruise would be 3 hours in length and that they begin boarding a half hour prior to departure. When we arrived, we had difficulty using the parking meter payment machine. The girl greeting us was asked if they stopped charging after 10pm, as the machine wouldn't allow us to pay for a time past 10pm.and she stated, " I don't know, but a few others asked the same question, so I am thinking that might be the case. But don't worry, the worst that will happen is you will get a $5.00 ticket, no big deal, it's only $5.00." It would be helpful if the staff knew this information, to alleviate patrons worrying about their vehicle while on the cruise. Once boarding, we were told our table number and told he was the only one up front to greet others, so we would need to find our table. We were never told we could start going through the buffet line- so we waited. We saw a waitress with a tray of drinks and asked, and she said we could start getting food when we were ready. We asked if someone took drink orders, and she stated we could help ourselves to iced water (which was almost empty and water had a lot of sediment in it, and was no longer cold), or go to the bar for other drinks, as she was assisting eith a private party.Told another waitress who changed the water and brought fresh iced water. The line for alcoholic drinks was very, very long, and 3 staff members behind the bar, but only 1 bartender, taking and fulfilling orders the buffet had a garden salad with 2 dressing choices, rolls and frozen butter pats, pasta salad, roasted potatoes, vegan rice, chicken and BBQ tenderloin. The food was ok- nothing to rave about, for the price. Dessert wasc2 choices of cookies that were in a clump- all stuck together- very difficult to get apart- were small pieces and crumbs by the time you attempted to get them apart. And pineapple dole whip- like ice cream, that was good. They also offered hot tea and coffee. They had 2 seperate musicians on 1st and 2nd floor- the female singer in the band on 1st floor wasn't very good and the guitar player on 2nd floor was ok, but there wad no place to sit that wasn't occupied b6 people who ate on the 2nd floor. The scenery was beautiful along the lake, but there was no narration about anything during this cruise. It was a rainy night, so the sunset wasn't visible- very cloudy- not their fault. Also, if their are smokers in your party- be aware- there is no smoking or vaping allowed on the boat. The price was a little high- $76.00 for the meal and cruise, with an $8.00 fee and tax- so it was $85.00 per person. That is in addition to the $2.00 per hour for parking on the street, or $10.00 in a few nearby lots. I am glad we experienced it, but we probably won't do it again.

Our private bus tour booked us for a one-hour lunch cruise. The cruise was nice but largely unremarkable. It would be interesting for folks that haven't spent much time on the water. After a week of buffet food at every stop all week--and reading others' reviews, I had pretty low expectations but I will give credit where credit is due; the buffet was actually not bad! My only real complaints follow and all pertain to the unmet needs of elderly and physically challenged folks. On board, guests have to be able to use stairs to access the open balcony, so they will miss that particular experience and view. The check-in and preboarding process is brutal. Lots of hurry up-and-wait on uneven boardwalk and slanted gang planks that can be uncomfortable underfoot and even dangerous for anyone with balance issues, limited stamina, back problems, canes, etc. The handful of benches near the venue fill quickly. The handicap restroom on the boardwalk is kept locked, and there is no signage to inform the unwitting visitor that they'll need to get a key from the ticket desk. Dock helper "Shep" completely dismissed the gentle suggestion that they put a simple sign on the door and made it clear he was not interested in public feedback.

You could be "next" all day. It's locked even when vacant. They want you to magically figure out that the key is at the ticket booth.

We attended the Sunday brunch cruise and it was very well done the food was delicious coffee nice and hot the cruise was wonderful with the narration, they had nice music on board and lots of photo opportunities.

We had a perfect night weather wise for our sunset dinner cruise of lake Winni. The parking and boarding was easy, and the staff friendly. I was hoping for some narration of the lake area even though I know there's another tour for that. The buffet/food was simple, and opened before our 6 pm departure. Music was on the lower deck but they had a great mix playing on the top deck.

Did the Sunday Brunch Quickly got on the boat. Food was already out and people inline before 10:00 AM Food was ok. Waffles were a huge hit with my son. Typical brunch buffet food. Mimosa was ok. Cake looked like a leftover cake they cut into small pieces. Staff was friendly. Wish the served food after setting sail. Boat ride was a bit long with nothing to do on board.

Great night out on the lake. Really good food and deserts. Sunset was a perfect 10. We would highly recommend this cruise.

We don't like given bad reviews we were both very excited to be going on this two and a half hour dinner cruise we paid the extra $10.00 dollars each to get on the boat a half hour earlier also to pick out your table for a good view we sat down at our table then went to the buffet very limited sat down, later on the general public boarded they also proceeded to the buffet one and a half hours later we went to the buffet again they said they ran out of chicken and would be @ 10 minutes till the chicken came out also wanted to mention the food was not hot but if you are hungry you will eat it. As far as if you wanted a drink only ONE bartender people were making two lines but you didn't know what line to get into it didn't have a sign saying line starts here also they ran out of bud lights at 6:45 P.M. As far as the music they had one gentleman playing a guitar he was okay I'm hoping if management sees this review they can make these corrections.

Nice enjoyable cruise from one end of the lake to the other. Buffet food was above average, nothing spectacular. Drinks are a little pricey but those things take a backseat to the spectacular views you will see on this historical ship.

Boat Excursion Lesson Plan

Did you know a boat can be built out of concrete and it will still float? As long as the boat is lighter than the water it displaces, it will stay above water. And what makes a boat move through the water? Throughout history, boats have been powered by wind, propellers, oars, motors, paddles, and ocean and river currents. Sailboats, which have been around for 5,000 years, can reach speeds of over 47 knots (about 54 mph) from wind power alone!
