Little Simz Plots Fall 2023 ‘No Thank You’ North American Tour

Since last touring in North America, Little Simz has shared two full-length studio albums, 2021’s Sometimes I Might Be Introvert and 2022’s No Thank You . Later this year, the musician will take both albums on the road outside of Europe for the first time on a 10-date tour .

Little Simz will launch the tour on Sept. 20 in at the Riviera Theatre in Chicago and wrap on Oct. 13 at Terminal 5 in New York. In between, she will make stops in Atlanta, Portland, Seattle, Vancouver, Los Angeles, Toronto, Montreal, and Silver Spring, Maryland.

Tickets for the tour go on sale beginning Thursday, April 13 at 10 a.m. local time.

The british rapper thanked fans for their “love and patience” as she announced ten dates across the united states and canada this fall..

Award-winning British rapper Little Simz is finally returning to the United States and Canada. This fall, she'll be headling ten dates across North America for her NO THANK YOU tour. Last December, she released her sophomore album of the same name, a follow-up to her critically-acclaimed Sometimes I Might Be Introvert .

This time last year, the artist postponed her U.S. tour, disclosing the financial struggles of touring as an independent artist. "I pay for everything encompassing my live performances out of my own pocket," she tweeted . "Touring the U.S. for a month would leave me in a huge deficit." In a recent Instagram post announcing the new dates, she writes, "It’s been a long time. Appreciate your love and patience."

UK rapper Little Simz has announced that she will be heading on tour across North America, starting in September this year.

The Mercury Award-winning artist took to social media on April 10, writing: “It’s been a long time. Appreciate your love and patience. Excited to announce my  NO THANK YOU  North American tour!”

Little Simz announces North American tour

The 'NO THANK YOU' North American tour kicks off in September

Little Simz has announced that she will be embarking on a North American tour, starting in September this year.

The Mercury-winning London artist shared the news on social media today (April 10), writing: “It’s been a long time. Appreciate your love and patience. Excited to announce my NO THANK YOU North American tour!”

The tour will begin in Chicago on September 20, heading to cities like Atlanta, Portland, Seattle, Vancouver and Montreal. It finishes up in New York on October 13, with a show at Terminal 5.

Tickets for the tour go on sale Thursday, April 13 at 10am. See full dates below and buy tickets here .

Last year, Simz cancelled her North American tour due to the “huge deficit” it would leave her in financially.

The London rapper was  due to head out on a 10-date run in May 2022 , with shows scheduled to take place in Portland, San Francisco, Toronto, Chicago, Boston, Los Angeles and New York, among other locations.

However, Simz announced that the shows would no longer be going ahead as planned, but assured her US and Canadian fans that she “will be there soon, back bigger and better”.

Back in December, Simz dropped her critically acclaimed surprise album ‘NO THANK YOU’.  NME  gave the album four stars , saying “‘NO THANK YOU’s quiet, understated release” has “a certain looseness and freedom to the tracks”.

Last month, she released a new documentary, On Stage Off Stage , following the European leg of her recent tour.

The documentary was filmed and directed by Abu Dumbuya and takes the viewer on tour with the artist, mixing both behind-the-scenes access with live tour footage.

With the release of the documentary, Simz has also announced that her fifth studio album will be physically released on June 16 and is available to pre-order now  here .

In other news, Simz is set to perform at this year’s Love Supreme festival .  Grace Jones ,  Greentea Peng , and  Thundercat will also be appearing.

Absolutely awesome artist! Sings from the heart, very funky and you just want to move!!! Love her music, love her beaming smile and she just makes you feel relaxed and happy!! Can't wait to see her again, may book for Notts too!!

I already caught Little Simz live at a festival three months ago. Just like last time, she performed with lots of energy, a very solid set and a fantastic backing band. It is refreshing to hear hip-hop-beats delivered so organically and supporting Little Simz' very raw, in-the-moment performance. She manages to sell her music in a truly personal, genuine way, that works especially well in front of a smaller audience. Great artist, great show!

Little Simz Postpones North American Tour, Citing Financial Concerns

Little Simz was supposed to kick off her North American tour next month in Portland, Oregon, but, yesterday (April 19), the rapper announced that she would have to postpone the trek, citing financial concerns. “Due to unforeseen circumstances I’ve been left with no option but to reschedule my US tour,” Simz wrote in a statement posted on her social media channels. “I take my live shows seriously and would only want to give you guys nothing but the best of me. Being an independent artist, I pay for everything encompassing my live performances out of my own pocket and touring the US for a month would leave me in a huge deficit.” Find her full statement below.

Simz’s tour was scheduled in support of her latest record Sometimes I Might Be Introvert , which landed last fall. She was slated to kick off her tour in Portland on May 1, stopping in Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, and more before concluding in New York at the end of the month.

Earlier this year, Simz performed a medley of “ Introvert ” and “ Woman ” at the 2022 BRIT Awards , where she was nominated in four categories: Album of the Year (for Sometimes I Might Be Introvert ), Artist of the Year, Best New Artist, and Best Hip Hop/Grime/Rap Act. She took home the honor for Best New Artist.

Before launching into “Humankind,” Martin freestyled lyrics to point out members of the crowd — this included Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis and Fox. Fox played with the group for the song and stuck around for a performance of “Fix You” too.

Earlier in the night, the group brought out rapper Little Simz as a surprise guest, debuting a new collaboration. The title of the track is rumored to be “Supernova,” with the chorus prominently featuring the lyrics “and so we pray.” Burna Boy also has a verse on the song, though he was not present for the Glastonbury performance. Palestinian singer Elyanna assisted with vocals.

Simz’s surprise appearance came after she played the Pyramid Stage directly before Coldplay. Prior to Simz coming on stage, the band ran through a slew of its biggest hits, kicking it off with “Yellow,” slowing it down with “The Scientist” and performing “Viva La Vida” with a live orchestra. Victoria Canal also made an appearance during “Paradise,” with the 25-year-old singer-songwriter joining the band on vocals and piano.

After playing “Sparks,” frontman Chris Martin asked the crowd to hold their hands up and send their love to “Israel or Palestine, to Ukraine or Russia, to anywhere you want.”

Saturday night’s show followed last week’s news that the band’s 10th album, titled “Moon Music,” is due on Oct. 4. The first single from the record, “Feels Like I’m Falling in Love,” dropped on Friday. “Moon Music” was produced by hitmaker Max Martin, who has worked with everyone from Britney Spears to the Weeknd. The album will be the band’s first since 2021’s “Music of the Spheres.”

Coldplay is currently still touring “Music of the Spheres,” and has made a considerable effort to diminish its carbon footprint, so far producing 59% less CO2e emissions than their last stadium tour. Having surpassed $810 million in revenue, the “Music of the Spheres” run has become the third-highest-grossing and second-most attended tour of all time. The trek is set to end in November in New Zealand.

Formed in 1997 at University College London, Coldplay’s current lineup includes lead singer Martin, guitarist Jonny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman and drummer Will Champion. The band has sold over 100 million albums worldwide, making them one of the bestselling music acts of all time.

Coldplay invited Michael J. Fox to join them on stage during their headlining set at Glastonbury Festival in England on Saturday.

To introduce the surprise guest, frontman Chris Martin took to his guitar and sang a little intro that elicited cheers from the crowd. "Here's another legendary Michael. One who just totally rocks, with his Chuck Berry riff and the way he punched Biff," he sang, referencing Back to the Future where Fox's character Marty McFly covered Berry's "Johnny B. Goode." (Fox has also performed the song with Coldplay previously).

The actor joined the band on guitar for songs including "Humankind" from 2021's Music of the Spheres and X&Y hit "Fix You." Fox, who has been battling Parkinson's disease since 1991, performed from a wheelchair during the set.

Earlier in the month, Coldplay detailed their 10th studio album, Moon Music , which arrives Oct. 4.  Last week, they released the album's first single, " Feels Like I'm Falling in Love."

Moon Music , the follow-up to 2021's  Music of the Spheres , will be crafted utilizing "new sustainability standards" that include manufacturing Moon Music 's vinyl and CDs using eco-friendly practices to reduce its impact on the environment. The group has had a  longtime focus on sustainability,  having so far produced 59 percent less CO2 emissions on their current tour compared with their previous stadium tour.
