How to reset the WS on a KTM trip computer
Remove the headlight/numberplate. unplug the red/brown/black three wire connector. press + on the trip computer to fire it up. once its booted, press + to cycle through things you can change. keep pressing + until you see WS blinking. press + again. then + increases the number, and - decreases it.

Posted August 25, 2011. Had the same problems on my 450 EXC 2005 speedometer. Solution: Disassemble the Speedometer and spray the buttons with WD-40. Let it soak a few minutes and push the buttons in the meantime. Wipe off excessive penetrating spray an reassemble the speedo. Should work fine after that. greetz, Chris.

highmarker. I just use a cloth seamstress tape that has metric. Wrap it around tire while on stand. Close enough for mph on road. Events , ha, chances are the guys bikes laying out the course won't be the same. I've even made ws adjustments try to match the routes and it still gets messed up.

Changing Speedo Calibration on KTM EXC / XC-W and ...
2005-2014 KTM 200-625 EXC / XC-W / XCF-W / SXC models. OEM # 54814069000. Remove rubber strap holding headlight to the forks; Locate the 3 pin connector coming out of the speedo and UNPLUG it, leave the 2 pin connected; Roll bike / wheel to wake up the speedo (make sure your wheel has a magnet in place to trip the speedo sensor)

Fitment list may not be accurate. KTM lists this as fitting 2003- 2004 models. Please look at your wiring harness and triple clamp to work out if this will fit. In every case please double check it will fit your motorcycle first.

The ICO Rallye VRL was, for years, the most trusted rally trip computers in the world and used widely on rallies including the Dakar. I recently removed this one from my KTM 690 Rally bike (see pic) as it's no longer required by me - there were 2 on the bike but I'm not going to be rallying. It's in full working order.

Plan route on desktop. Access on smartphone
Any ideas how to plan a route on the computer (eg. in Google Maps) and then access that info on your smartphone (in my case an iPhone). Did a big trip across England last year and couldn't quite get it to work. Ended up screen-grabbing the bastard, saving to photos, etc. Not in the mood to blow £300 on a Tomtom Rider.
Odd Speedo R03 behavior
Once off, you can go back thru this process again. You hit the key, get r03 again. Clock has clearly stopped. if you turn the key off, but back on again before the speedo times out, it will work the way you expect. Clock is still running. Take the speedo out; unplug from bike. Remove battery and put battery back in.
