BUFORD Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The annual world’s largest traveling car show was held in the metro Atlanta area on Saturday.

2023 Hot Wheels Legends Tour
The Hot Wheels Legends Tour is a custom car show, a place to get collectibles, and a competition. At each regional event, cars are judged on authenticity, creativity, and garage spirit.
Authenticity - Ever seen a car and said, "Wow, that looks like a Hot Wheels"? We’re looking for a spectacular ride that embodies that sentiment.
Creativity - We’ve made tens of thousands of unique vehicle models over the past 50+ years, so we’re looking for never-before-seen designs that stand out from the rest.
Garage Spirit - Built, not bought. We’re looking to see some elbow grease that exemplifies the challenger spirit.
Regional finalists then compete to be the Legends Tour winner which will become a Hot Wheels mainline diecast car.
Collectible Hot Wheels
Regional events in the U.S. are hosted at Walmart stores. Along with the custom car show, there are Hot Wheels collectibles available to attendees.
Attendees will be able to get the 2023 Collector Edition Custom '67 Pontiac Firebird and the Honda S2000, the Collector Edition car for the 2023 Legends Tour.
Collectors who are unable to attend should be able to get the Honda S2000. In previous years the Legends Tour car was available online in limited quantities during each event.
If interested, the 2021 Legends Tour '83 Chevy Silverado is still available online at legendstourtruck.square.site .

Here Are The 2023 Hot Wheels Legends Tour Finalists... So Far
Which one is your favorite?
The 2023 Hot Wheels Legends Tour is in full swing and has been worldwide searching for the craziest automotive builds. Several finalists have been selected, all with the hope of winning the ultimate prize : having their cherished vehicles immortalized in die-cast form .
Of course, the competition is far from over, with another 13 stops. Now, at the halfway point, we're looking at the custom creations that have impressed the judges most. It's an eclectic bunch, with everything from hotrods to off-roaders and tuner cars to bizarre one-offs. They all have one thing in common: the ability to turn heads wherever they go.
Without further ado, let's look at the finalists.
Miami, Florida: 1989 Volkswagen Cabriolet
When Giraldo Penton purchased his 1989 Volkswagen Cabriolet seven years ago, it was rundown and needed work. Not one to back down from a challenge, Penton poured his heart and soul into the topless VW and turned it into the Miami Regional Tour winner it is today.
Resprayed with Lamborghini blue paint, the Volkswagen wears a subtle Berg Cup kit and three-piece BBS Flip Face wheels. The car sits lower to the ground thanks to lowered suspension, giving it an aggressive stance. The engine remains stock, but the interior has benefitted from white upholstery. In our opinion, an absolute beauty.
Charlotte, North Carolina: 2015 Chevy Colorado “Kymera”
You'd be hard-pressed to tell, but this imposing pickup is based on the previous-generation Chevrolet Colorado. Known as "Kymera," owner Tim McDonald built the vehicle for rock crawling. It took him over a year to complete the truck, which is fitted with a twin-turbocharged Cummins engine and Baja-style suspension (with Fox coilovers and triple bypass shocks).
Other modifications include independent all-wheel steering and MRAP axles. It certainly wouldn't look out of place in a post-apocalyptic world, especially with the intimidating dinosaur-like fins that adorn the roof.
Atlanta, Georgia: 1981 Chevrolet Camaro
If you thought you were taking your time with your project car, this will put things into perspective. This 1981 Chevrolet Camaro was slowly transformed into an eye-catching roadster over 18 years.
Owner Michael Scire got his hands on the muscle car when he was just 15 and, with the help of his father and a close friend, transformed it into the green-painted beauty seen here. With a complete custom body, the trio had to shorten the unibody by 18 inches. Thanks to a handbuilt 5.7-liter V8 engine and a custom exhaust system, it has both bark and bite.
Detroit, Michigan: 1954 Chevrolet Pickup
Once a humble '54 Chevy pickup truck, Jim Noble spent 15 years transforming a workhorse into an extreme hot rod. Not content with the stock Chevrolet Stovebolt Six motor, Noble threw in two additional engines for good measure. The result is 550 horsepower and a sound that can presumably shatter eardrums.
The outboard engines have been canted at 22.5 degrees to accommodate the intake manifolds and custom exhaust system. Finished in red, the Chevy truck boasts a matching interior. Of course, the tri-engine setup is the highlight and is on display for all to see.
Le Mans, France: Golgoth I
The French are known for producing quirky automobiles, a trait that Le Mans local Thibault Lagardere shares. Inspired by the postwar Belly Tank racers of the 20th century, Lagardere built Golgoth I from an aircraft tank and spare parts from several 1930s French classics. The result looks like the opposite of a flying car (a roadgoing 'plane?).
Powered by a V8, which sings through a free-flow exhaust, Golgoth I looks like it would be a handful to drive. It's a fascinating vehicle, and we applaud the owner's ingenuity and talent to build such a thing from old parts.
Chicago, Illinois: 1988 Chrysler Conquest "Overkill"
Sick of being overtaken on the straights at track day events, Barry Glenn decided to bless his 1988 Chrysler Conquest with a healthy power bump. Tuned to produce more than 400 hp, the 2,500-pound sports car is now a force to be reckoned with and regularly gives supercars a good thrashing on the track.
"Overkill," as the Conquest has come to be known, is equipped with a roll cage and a massive rear spoiler. Teal and black paintwork ensures this sports coupe stands out from the crowd, even when surrounded by exotic machinery.
Houston, Texas: 1985 Mercedes-Benz 300D
Once a symbol of prestige and affluence, this 1985 Mercedes-Benz 300D was in a sad state when David Almanzan came across it. Almanzan, a High School automotive technology program instructor, thought it would be a great project for his students to work on and promptly purchased the forlorn Benz.
It was transformed into the behemoth you see today by more than 260 students who worked on the car over several years. The 300D has lifted suspension and bolt-on fender flares to accommodate the massive all-terrain tires.
Powered by the indestructible OM617 turbodiesel engine, this old Benz has been given a new lease on life, all while improving students' lives. Almanzan says the project was a life lesson "about having fun" and learning.
Hannover, Germany: BMW 2002 Tii Touring
Over in Germany, Philip Jager and his BMW 2002 Tii Touring walked off with top honors. The rare '74 Bimmer was a wreck when Jager set about transforming it into the car you see today. With its turquoise paint, gold wheels, and flared wheel arches, the classic BMW is now a tire-shredding drift machine.
The ultimate modification is, of course, under the hood. Not satisfied with the stock engine or modifications, Jager decided to shoehorn the motor from a BMW M5 into the tiny engine bay. Various reports suggest it's the glorious S62 V8 that does duty in the E39 generation of the super sedan.
Malaysia: Proton Arena
When you think of tuner cars, Proton isn't a manufacturer that comes to mind. In fact, for Americans, Proton isn't on the radar at all. However, the automaker is hugely popular in its home country of Malaysia, particularly in the tuning scene.
Mohd Shahlan Bin Mohd Nasir's Proton Arena is evidence of this and stunned the judges with its custom fuchsia and black paintwork. If that's not enough to catch your eye, the compact truck boasts Lamborghini-style scissor doors, a prominent front splitter, and a hood scoop.
Indonesia: 2015 Nissan Juke
Universally hated for its polarizing front end, the Nissan Juke isn't what you'd consider an enthusiast car. But David Sebastian's 2015 Juke is the exception to the rule. Inspired by the official Juke race cars developed for the JGTC and DTM championships, Sebastian managed to extract 450 horsepower from the motor, which is mated to a custom manual transmission. It certainly looks like the part with lowered suspension, a widebody kit, and blacked-out details.
Phillippines: 2016 Toyota FJ Cruiser
Already a capable SUV in standard form, Frederick Corro decided to transform his 2016 Toyota FJ Cruiser into the ultimate off-roader. Sporting the chassis from a truck, sizable all-terrain tires, and chopped bodywork, this unique FJ Cruiser shares almost nothing with a stock example.
Speaking to overseas publications, Corro notes he entered the competition at the last minute and was shocked when he was announced as the winner.
Launton, United Kingdom: MGB GT
Finally, we move over to England, where a gorgeous MGB GT was crowned the regional Hot Wheels Legends Tour winner. Built over eight years by Michael Wallhead, this British coupe is powered by a 3.0-liter Jaguar AJV6 engine. This motor was used in several cars, including the Jaguar S-Type, XJ Sedan, and even the Lincoln LS.
The creamy-smooth engine propels the MGB to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds, with an impressive top speed of 148 mph. The build can be described as sustainable; it borrows parts from several other cars, as Wallhead wanted to recycle as much as he could. As a result, the axle comes from a Reliant Scimitar, while the driveshaft/propeller shaft has been lifted out of a Range Rover . The brakes are from a Silvia S14, while the interior has been retrimmed with old denim jeans.
