Vicki is as awesome travel agent ! She found us the perfect honeymoon trip of a lifetime. Unbelievable resort in Aruba. we could not have been happier with her service or the accommodations. We highly recommend her for any trip you may be interested in. I have travelEd on several vacations through Vicki and will continue to use her service ! Italy, Vienna, Prague, Hungry, you name it.

Vicki Jelsing and Debbie Juttner at First World Travel should be ashamed of themselves over how they treated me and my family. We booked a Disney cruise with them and they misspelled my sister's name and I had to contact the airlines and Disney myself to fix it. They huffed on the phone at me anytime I had a question. Didn't send emails that had anything in the subject line to my husband so he would know it was from them and not some scam. Then they didn't apply the money that was given to them to the Disney cruise line. I was actually on the phone with Disney when they wouldn't give them the money! I had to finish all of the payments, and I paid them $90. for my family and $60.00 for my sister and aunt's account. I want my money back! They told me I was the problem becuase I was unsatisfied with the lack of their customer service! They are the rudest and most inconsiderate people I have ever met! My sister in law wanted to go on this Disney cruise because she servived stage 4 cancer and I won't let these two lazy- rude women ruin our trip!

Many shops and buildings in Mora are decorated in a Swedish theme to honor our early settlers and in keeping with our sister city, Mora, Sweden. Mora, Minnesota is home to the the largest (25 foot high) Dala horse in the U.S., the Mora Klocka, Bell Tower, Ole, Kanabec History Center , and monuments in the city parks in honoring our history and heritage.

Mora Minnesota is also home of the Vasaloppet USA , started in 1972 by a small group of Mora volunteers and 96 skiers who gathered in a farm field in northern Kanabec County for the first Vasaloppet cross county ski race.

The four Vasaloppet races (Sweden, USA, Japan and China) have formed an International Vasaloppet Skiing Exchange designed to promote not only the four races, but to foster a better understanding of different cultures.

Since 1922 the Swedish Vasaloppet has commemorated the Swedish revolt for independence from the Danes with a 90 kilometer ski race from Salen to Mora. The first race had about 100 skiers, but today the Swedish Vasaloppet attracts nearly 50,000 skiers.

Ogilvie’s claim to fame is its unique water tower. Constructed in 1918, it was one of the first reinforced concrete towers to be built in Minnesota. It is designed after the turreted castles of northern Europe. Seven window sets are located along the bottom portion of the tower, adding to its picturesque appearance.

The Ogilvie Tower was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. It is located near the center of Ogilvie. Ogilvie celebrates it’s heritage with “Back to the Tower Days” held every other year. Facebook Events Link

Mora Minnesota Community Guide

As of the census of 2010, there were 3,571 people, 1,513 households, and 857 families residing in the city. The population density was 714.2 inhabitants per square mile (275.8/km2). There were 1,684 housing units at an average density of 336.8 per square mile (130.0/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 98.4% White, 0.2% African American, 0.3% Native American 0.3% from other races, and 0.9% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.2% of the population.

There were 1,513 households of which 28.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 37.6% were married couples living together, 13.4% had a female householder with no husband present, 5.6% had a male householder with no wife present, and 43.4% were non-families. 37.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 20.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.21 and the average family size was 2.87.

The median age in the city was 39.6 years. 23.4% of residents were under the age of 18; 8.4% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 23% were from 25 to 44; 23.3% were from 45 to 64; and 21.8% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the city was 47.2% male and 52.8% female.
