Under the protection of its ribat, one of the most impressive fortresses of Tunisia, Monastir's medina, fishing port, marina and background of villages and orchards make it a lively and welcoming destination.

Situated halfway between Sousse and Mahdia, and in the intersection of Kairouan and El Jem , Monastir is distinguished by its location in the central coast of Tunisia . It is an ancient city dating from Phoenician times. Due to its strategic location, it shelters the oldest and the most important ribat in the Maghreb: a lovely fortress that is one of Tunisia's finest examples of Islamic military architecture.

Monastir is also known as a really beautiful and calm city.

Getting to the airport: the trip by taxi costs about 5 DT. Getting to the airport is also possible through train between Monastir and Sousse, since "Skanes-Monastir airport station" is 200 m from airport terminal.

There are regular train services to Tunis and Sousse to the north and Mahdia to the south.

A louage to Sousse takes about 20 minutes and costs 2.1 DT. It departs just outside of the medina walls next to the train station.

Finding The Path

The life and works of His Eminence Sheikh al-Habib have borne the fruits of guidance to the light of the AhlulBayt for countless souls. These converts being from all corners of the earth, from various backgrounds and ideologies. It has proven that the unaltered truth and wisdom of the AhlulBayt if taught with clarity, will open the minds and hearts of humanity.

I was introduced to Sheikh al-Habib’s lectures recently, and I thank Allah for this opportunity. His lectures led me to the rightful path of the Ahl-ul-Bayt (peace be upon them). His dedication, strong faith, and sincerity are rare to find in this day and age.

Sheikh al-Habib’s lectures have answered all of my doubts and allowed me to discover the truth. Subhan’Allah, the Sheikh encouraged me to research more into ‘Sunni’ books which eventually led me to convert. I am not afraid anymore, and guiding the Sudanese peoples has become my ultimate goal.

My friends and family have listened to many of Sheikh al-Habib’s lectures, and it was fulfilling to see them thrive and embrace Shia Islam. Sheikh’s series ‘How Islam Was Hijacked’ allowed them to comprehend and accept the path of the Ahl-ul-Bayt (peace be upon them).

Sheikh al-Habib made me understand how ‘Sunni’ scholars’ cheap attempts were merely to hide the historical truths. He exposed the shocking stories of Umar doubting the Prophethood, attacking Fatima al-Zahra, and unjustly usurping the caliphate.

I was disappointed with Jewish beliefs as it contained many absurdities and soon understood that it was not the straight path. With the help of Sheikh al-Habib’s lectures and one year of research, I was able to embrace the way of the Ahl-ul-Bayt (peace be upon them).

Upon finding Sheikh al-Habib, I knew that he was a man that spoke in truth. I soon realised I was following the wrong religion, the religion of those who opposed Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him and his purified progeny).

I found Sheikh al-Habib’s lectures extremely useful, especially ‘How Was Islam Hijacked. I would not have been able to understand the truth without understanding the falsehood. I was able to identify Ahl-ul-Bayt’s rights by knowing their enemies.
