CEBU PACIFIC: How to Convert Your Ticket to a TRAVEL FUND

CEBU PACIFIC: How to Convert Your Ticket to a TRAVEL FUND

By continuing to read this article, you agree to double check with the authorities or other concerned entities for the latest updates.

When your Cebu Pacific flight is canceled or rescheduled, the airline provides options on what to to with your booking. You can rebook , request a refund , or convert your ticket to a travel fund .

WHAT'S COVERED IN THIS GUIDE?

What is a travel fund?

In the context of Cebu Pacific, a travel fund a virtual wallet where you can transfer the cost of your ticket, which can then be used to pay for your future bookings. The amount to be transferred excludes insurance add-ons and other service fees, if any.

For example, let’s say that my Manila-Cebu flight was canceled. Instead of rebooking it or asking for a refund, I can have that amount be stored in my Travel Fund. In a way, it’s like I have credits that Cebu Pacific is keeping for me. Now, in the future, when I decide to book another flight with them, I could use it to pay for that new booking.

You can keep that amount for 90 days (in some cases, 180 days), which starts on the day of conversion. If you fail to use it within that period, it will expire. You can also use it only for the original passenger.

But unlike refunds which usually take weeks (or even months) to complete, you can use a travel fund quickly and easily. If I convert my ticket to a travel fund today and I choose to book another flight tomorrow, I can already use the credited amount. If you can’t wait for a refund, this is a good option, provided that you are certain you will be using it within the next 90 days.

How to transfer your ticket to a Travel Fund

cebu pacific getgo travel fund

  • Visit the Cebu Pacific website: www.cebupacificair.com . Click on MANAGE BOOKING.
  • Supply the information needed to access your booking: Booking Reference Number and Surname of the passenger. If you have a GetGo membership, log in to your account.
  • On the dashboard, find your flight. Click the MANAGE button next to it.

  • On the next page, you will find icons. If your flight has been canceled by Cebu Pacific, you will find a TRAVEL FUND option. If your flight isn’t canceled, choose CANCEL FLIGHT and follow the next steps.
  • Enter the information asked on the next page.
  • Confirm transfer to Travel Fund.

When it’s done, you should receive an email from Cebu Pacific stating that the price of the ticket has been converted into Travel Fund credits.

Here’s a quick infographic summing up the process:

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can avail of travel fund.

Generally, if the airline cancels or reschedules your flight with 1-hour difference, you are entitled to a rebooking, refund, or travel fund. Note that there should be at least a 1-hour difference from the original schedule.

If you voluntarily cancels your flight, you may be entitled to these options depending on your fare type. Most promo fares are not covered. Other cases like death or serious illness or injury of the passenger can also be a reason for a refund or conversion to travel fund. You will need to submit a valid certificate and other necessary documents.

My flight has been rescheduled, can I avail of the Travel Fund option?

Only when there is a 1-hour difference between the original schedule and the new schedule. Otherwise, you are not entitled to a travel fund, refund, or rebooking.

Will the travel tax be included in the conversion to Travel Fund too?

The travel tax will not be included in the converted amount at first, but it will be added within 15 days after completing your booking conversion to Travel Fund.

Travel taxes are processed separately and entail coordination with other agencies, but it will be added eventually.

How to use Travel Fund to book another flight?

When you decide to use Travel Fund credits to purchase another ticket, simply book a flight on the website or app as you normally would. The difference is: on the PAYMENT page, when asked how you want to pay, choose the TRAVEL FUND option.

If I had my ticket converted to Travel Fund, could I change my mind and ask for a refund?

NO. If your flight is canceled or rescheduled (with 1 hour difference), make sure you weigh your options carefully before making a decision. Once it’s done, it is final and irreversible.

If the validity of the Travel Fund expires, will I still be able to use it?

NO, not anymore.

You will receive an email reminder 45 days before the travel fund expires. Remember, the travel fund’s validity is 90-180 days (depending on the case) from the day of conversion.

Is there a fee for converting a ticket to Travel Fund?

If it’s the airline that canceled or rescheduled your flight, it’s FREE OF CHARGE.

But if it’s you who canceled, the airline may charge a processing fee.

Can I use the Travel Fund for another person?

NO. It is non-transferable. It may be used for the same person on record.

There are multiple passengers in our booking. Are all of us entitled to use Travel Fund?

Here’s what Cebu Pacific’s Terms has to say about that:

“Multiple passengers named in one Itinerary Receipt will have the option to create a single fund that may be redeemed by anyone in the record or to split the fund to allow each passenger on record to get his share. Except for this instance, the airline will follow a one booking-one Travel Fund policy. A single Travel Fund cannot be created out of multiple bookings, as the Travel Fund is associated with the passenger’s booking reference and not with his name.”

Cebu Pacific’s Loyalty Program GetGo is Now Go Rewards

Press Release

  • August 13, 2021

Cebu Pacific, the Philippines’ leading airline, announces that its loyalty program GetGo is now Go Rewards, the lifestyle, and rewards program of the Gokongwei group. This gives everyJuan more ways to enjoy deals and benefits from its many partner brands.

With this migration, GetGo points earned BEFORE January 1, 2020 are converted into Cebu Pacific Travel Fund. This virtual wallet may be used to purchase new flights and add-ons (and even taxes and fees) on the CEB website.

Points earned from January 1, 2020 onwards are converted into Go Rewards points. One (1) Go Rewards point is equivalent to PHP1.00 and can be redeemed by the member for the flights with CEB or purchases in over 2,000 retail stores.

GetGo members have been informed of their corresponding point conversions via registered email.

cebu pacific getgo travel fund

“We are excited to be part of this new and improved loyalty program where we are now able to offer more rewards and options for our customers,” said Candice Iyog, vice president for marketing and customer experience.

Under Go Rewards, members can earn and redeem points from purchases in Robinsons Department Store, Robinsons Supermarket, The Marketplace, Shopwise, Southstar Drug, True Value, Daiso, Toys R Us, Mini Stop, Daiso Japan, No Brand, Caltex, and Handy Man, and many more.  Members can also enjoy exclusive deals and coupons that they can discover via the Go Rewards app.

cebu pacific getgo travel fund

Members with GetGo loyalty cards may exchange them for the new Go Rewards Classic card. Simply present the old GetGo card in any Robinsons Retail store, and immediately activate the card through the Go Rewards app to easily view your points.

GetGo members with existing Go Rewards membership can conveniently merge both accounts through the Go Rewards app.

On the other hand, GetGo members who are new to Go Rewards can merge their GetGo membership by downloading the Go Rewards app, selecting “Register”, and then linking their GetGo account. After doing so, the GetGo number will be deactivated, and the new Go Rewards number will be the membership account moving forward.

Cebu Pacific Air Flight Cancellation, Rebooking and Travel Fund Options: A Step-By-Step Guide

By vivomigsgee in Features Travel March 13, 2020

Positive, the first quarter of 2020 presented us with new and unforeseen challenges. With the looming risk of acquiring or spreading Covid-19, a new coronavirus affecting millions across the globe and declared by World Health Organization as pandemic, to be vigilant is key in winning this blind war. Covid-19 is totally taking a toll on everyone, from businesses to studies, from telecommuting set-up to political stand, from health to personal dilemma with upcoming trips. Nobody knows how bad it could get but one thing is for sure ~ Covid-19 is messing up with every Juan ‘s travel plans.

The aviation industry, which is one of the most affected group, is striving to remain hopeful, positive and resilient at the forefront of innovation including new health and safety mechanisms, as people are gradually adapting to the new normal. As the leading low-cost carrier in the Philippine’s air transportation industry, Cebu Pacific understands that passengers may be feeling uneasy about traveling because of Covid-19 so they provided some helpful measures taken so we can all travel with peace of mind.

As per Cebu Pacific Travel Advisory, various flights for a certain period and routes are cancelled due to government regulations on COVID-19. You may check status of flights here . With this, Cebu Pacific is providing passengers traveling from March onwards to ALL domestic and international routes with the following options for more flexibility:

HOW TO PROCESS A TRAVEL FUND

As a #BaryaHero, I chose the Travel Fund option to secure a digital budget as immediate payment for more flights in the future. I can totally say that converting cancelled flight bookings to Travel Fund is a breeze especially with the help of online connectivity. With this, sharing with you a step-by-step guide on how to electronically process rebooking or cancellation of your Cebu Pacific flight and store it in a travel fund at the comfort and safety of your own home.

STEP 1: Visit Cebu Pacific Air’s official website, sign-in and go to “Manage Booking”

cebu pacific getgo travel fund

This is self-explanatory. You may do this via laptop or smartphone, for both website and mobile application. If you don’t have a GetGo account, go to Manage Booking portal and retrieve your booking using your booking reference number and passenger’s surname.

STEP 2: Select your flight booking (s)

cebu pacific getgo travel fund

When you’re already in the “Manage Booking” portal, select the applicable flight booking or bookings that you wish to cancel by clicking the “Manage” option. Please note of the flight cancellation coverage: March 10 to May 31, 2020 ( extended for voluntary change of flights until March 31, 2021 ).

STEP 3: Select Purchase Add-Ons, Change or Cancel Flight Tab

cebu pacific getgo travel fund

Tick the appropriate “Cancel Flight” box. Read the reminders. Please note that this is a special option provided by Cebu Pacific due to Covid-19 so even if your flight is booked during a promo or special fares, flight cancellation is still applicable. Then click “Continue”.

Should you wish to rebook the flight, tick “Change Flight” box. Follow the instructions.

STEP 4: Cancel Flight

cebu pacific getgo travel fund

Tick the corresponding flight you wish to cancel. Please note that changes will be applied to all passengers in your current booking. Click “Continue”.

STEP 5: Agree to Travel Fund Terms and Conditions

Note that you are now in the “Cancel Summary” tab. Review the Total Booking Amount , including any deductions, and Total Travel Fund to ensure that the full cost of the ticket is equal to the amount to be transferred in the travel fund. It’s highly important to read the terms and conditions of the Travel Fund for your reference.

  • Travel Fund is offered to the guest upon flight cancellation.
  • The amount will be net of applicable penalties.
  • This is valid for 2 years from the date of Travel Fund creation.
  • Using the web, a single Travel Fund may be created for one booking. Guests are advised to contact our Call Center at (632) 70-20-888 if the booking consists of multiple guests and they wish to split the amount and create one Travel Fund per guest.
  • Two (2) separate bookings cannot be combined to create a single Travel Fund.
  • Travel Fund is associated with the guest’s booking reference and not with the name of the guest.
  • Cebu Pacific Call Center (632) 70-20-888 or (6332) 230-8888
  • Organic ticket offices

  • Anyone in the record (for single funds)
  • Individual holding the fund (for split funds)
  • If a guest has multiple Travel Funds, he may combine these funds and apply to a single transaction.
  • If amount in fund is greater than the amount to be paid, the balance may still be used to pay off guest’s another transaction provided that the Travel Fund is still valid.
  • If amount in fund is less than the amount to be paid, guest may make additional payment using another form of payment.

If you agree with the above-listed Travel Fund provisions, please click “Continue”.

STEP 6: Travel Fund Confirmation

cebu pacific getgo travel fund

If you’ve reached this far, then congratulations! Your booking has been successfully stored in a travel fund. You may check your email notification from Cebu Pacific, acknowledging receipt of your request to cancel your booking. Likewise, you may find in the attachment the Itinerary Receipt of the booking you have cancelled.

Should you wish to convert another flight bookings into a travel fund, just repeat steps 1 to 6 above.

HOW TO USE THE TRAVEL FUND

Before you use your travel fund, read first the instructions of its usage, timing and applicability. You’ll receive a confirmation from Cebu Pacific email indicating such relevant information.

Now that you already have a travel fund and you want to know how to use it as payment for a new flight booking from Cebu Pacific Air , then follow these simple procedures for your reference. Here’s how:

STEP 1: Search and Select Flights via Cebu Pacific Air’s home page

cebu pacific getgo travel fund

Visit Cebu Pacific official website and log-in to your GetGo Account. As per usual process, start your booking by searching for a flight (domestic or international) and selecting your preferred travel date and departure time. You can view the booking summary on the right side, with details on the chosen flight, basic fare, taxes and fees and total booking so far. You may then proceed with filling up the passengers information and continue on the add-ons section.

Speaking of basic fare, the sample booking is actually bearing a PISO FARE for international flights (e.g., Cebu to Tokyo round trip) because Cebu Pacific is having periodic seat sale promos featuring Piso Fare seats and more deals. If you want to score cheap flights for as low as PISO (1) base fare, then uncover some effective secrets here: PISO FARE TRAVEL HACKS

STEP 2: Add CEB Flexi (FOR FREE)

cebu pacific getgo travel fund

Get worry-free when you travel as Cebu Pacific is offering  FREE CEB FLEXI  for new flights booked from March 11, 2020 until March 31, 2020. This waives the rebooking fee and allows for up to two (2) FREE rebookings. Simply select CEB Flexi add-on during booking.

In addition, if you want to travel smart and secure your trip for a minimal fee, Cebu Pacific is offering a travel insurance a.k.a. “ cebtravel sure “. Get covered when you buy cebtravel sure for your trip.

STEP 3: Review Booking Summary

cebu pacific getgo travel fund

This is a standard procedure before proceeding with the payment. Review every detail in your booking for any error or additional information. If satisfied with the accuracy of the flight information, please tick the “I HAVE REVIEWED MY BOOKING SUMMARY” box to proceed with payment.

STEP 4: Use Travel Fund As Payment For Your Flight

cebu pacific getgo travel fund

You are now in the payment stage. By default, you will see the credit card/debit card initially. To use the travel fund, select the Travel Fund tab (5th and last tab to the right). Provided you’re logged-on to your GetGo account, you’ll see your travel fund balance and how much will be used in the booking. If you’re a non GetGo member, your Travel Fund will be stored under your booking in Cebu Pacific’s system . You can redeem through agent-assisted channels/hotline (+632-87020-888). Ticket offices will reopen once the ECQ/MECQ/GCQ is lifted.

Please note on the guidelines for travel fund use as follows:

  • It is non-transferable. Travel Fund is associated with the guest’s booking reference and not with the name of the guest. Meaning, you cannot use the travel fund to book flight for another passenger(s), unless you are one of the traveling passenger(s).
  • If amount in fund is less than the amount to be paid, guest may make additional payment using another form of payment. You will be redirected to the credit card/debit card page for you to proceed payment of the balance.

STEP 5: Flight Confirmation

what will happen if I redeem my Travel fund, with 2 guests from different locations but I will not be able to go with them during the travel. Can they still use their itinerary without me (as the travel fund owner)? I did successfully booked one ticket already, is it okay?

It’s okay if you will not be with them during the actual trip as long as you are part of the passengers in the booking details, being the travel fund owner

Hi. I just want to ask if pwede ko pa bang mahiwalay yung isang guest sa booked flight? Nag email kasi ang cebu pac ng cancelled flight and suggesting new sched, my concern is yung isa sa guest ay hindi makakatuloy. Is it possible na i-rebook lang yung isang guest and yung dalawa ay mag continue to fly? Another question,I booked the flight ng hindi nag log in sa account ko, can I still convert yung ticket to travel fund? even walang account na gamit sa pag book?

Cebu Pacific enhances its Travel Fund to allow passengers to use their fund to book tickets for anyone, making it possible to give the gift of travel to your family and friends. Here are the steps: 1. Passenger signs up for a MyCebuPacific account on the website or mobile app. 2. Once logged in, go to the “Bookings” tab and type in the previous trip’s reference number and last name under Add Booking section. Once the name or email address of the previous trip matches the account details, the Travel Fund amount will be stored immediately. 3. Book flights and purchase add-ons as usual, and choose Travel Fund to pay.

MPTC eyes new investor to fund CCLEX expansion

M ANILA, Philippines — The Metro Pacific Group is looking for an investor who can finance the P7-billion expansion that would improve the traffic viability of the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX).

This as Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. (MPTC) is struggling to recover the investments it made in building CCLEX, the third bridge that connects the city and the island sides of Cebu.

MPTC president and CEO Rogelio Singson said the company is negotiating with a foreign entity for the infusion of at least P7 billion to be spent on the expansion of CCLEX.

CCLEX is currently being used by about 17,000 motorists daily, far from the original projection of between 45,000 and 50,000. Singson attributed the gap on the absence of infrastructure that bridges CCLEX to the airport and to the city.

If MPTC closes the deal with the prospective investor, CCLEX will be expanded to reach Cebu South Road, one of the main thoroughfares in Cebu City. Further, MPTC will use the proceeds to pave an access road leading to the Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA).

At present, motorists going to Cebu City through CCLEX go down at the South Road Properties, which is 10 minutes away from Cebu South Road.

Travelers also have to go through half an hour of drive to get to CCLEX from the airport, forcing them to just use either the Mactan-Mandaue Bridge or Marcelo Fernan Bridge to reach the city.

“We are doing everything to make it viable. We are looking for a strategic investor who can bring in cash. It will all go to project expansion, no equity recovery,” Singson said.

If things go as planned, Singson said the foreign entity will take on 45 percent of CCLEX Corp., the operator of CCLEX. As committed, all of the proceeds from the investment will be deployed for capital expenditures.

Singson said MPTC is rushing the negotiations with the prospective investor, hoping to close the deal in around two months. Since CCLEX is a public-private partnership (PPP) with the local government of Cebu, MPTC expects that the entry of a new investor will be approved as quickly as possible.

CCLEX, the engineering pride of Pangilinan-led MPTC, is a cable-stayed infrastructure that serves as a third bridge connecting Cebu City and Mactan Island.

The bridge is designed to be linked to the Metro Cebu Expressway, another PPP undertaking that aims to cover the north and south of Cebu and boost trade and travel in the province.
