Norwegian 7 Day Greek Isles from Venice Cruise: What to Expect

Staying on each Greek Island for multiple days would be fantastic, but when you’re short on time, the best way to travel the Greek Islands is via a cruise.

The 7 day Norwegian cruise from Venice has some of the most popular Greek Island stops and is one of the best Greek Island cruises on offer.  This Greek Island hopping cruise was a great way for us to see the Greek Islands in October.

There is a really good chance that this post contains affiliate links. If you click one of them, we may receive a small commission (for which we are deeply grateful) at no extra cost to you.

More About The Greek Islands Cruise

Table of Contents

The Greek cruise takes you to all the famous Greek isles!

The Islands are divided into six main island groups, namely the Saronic Gulf Islands, the Cyclades Islands, the North Aegean Islands, the Dodecanese Islands, the Sporades Islands, the Ionian Islands, and the island of Crete.

It’s not too difficult getting around the Greek Islands within a group as this can be done via ferry and hydrofoil options. There are plenty of smaller Greek island cruise ships provided!

However, if you’re considering how to travel the Greek Islands in different groups, the only option really is to cruise around the Greek Islands or to fly.  This is why Greek Island cruises are such a great option, as there is no need to check into multiple hotels and unpack multiple times. If a large cruise ship isn’t your thing, then you might enjoy a sailing holiday in Greece instead.

Best Way to Cruise Greek Islands: 7day Greek Isles Cruise Itinerary

7 night greek isles cruise venice

As mentioned, the best way to travel the Greek Islands for 7 days really is onboard a Greek Island cruise. While you don’t spend too long on any given island, during this 7-night Greek Isles cruise onboard the Norwegian Star you will get a great overview of the islands.

Let’s check out the Norwegian Cruise Line Greek Islands itinerary so you’ll know what to expect when you cruise to Greece’s famous islands.

Arriving in Venice

We arrived in Venice the day before our cruise so we didn’t have to feel rushed. We took full advantage of our short stay in Venice and started to explore the city as soon as we checked into our hotel and dropped off our bags we were off! If you are in Venice for a while before the cruise, there are plenty of must-have experiences in Venice to be enjoyed!

7 night greek isles cruise venice

Departure Day: Venice, Italy

The Venice to Greece cruise departs Venice at 5 pm.  However, you are required to be on board the Norwegian Cruise Line – Greek Isles, no later than 3 pm.

Getting to the cruise port from Venice was fairly easy and inexpensive.  We walked from our hotel to the People Mover that took us directly to the port which was only a short ride.  Once we arrived at the port we walked to where the Norwegian Star ship was docked for check-in.

The check-in process is fairly easy as it is the same as checking in for a flight.  Once you arrive at the port your luggage is tagged and checked in and will be delivered to your cabin by the afternoon.  You then proceed to the check-in counter where you get your cabin fee.

Your picture will be taken for your room key and credit card swiped for any incidentals.  Once you have received your cabin key you will then proceed to security (like at the airport) where your bags are scanned.

Day 1: Kotor, Montenegro

Most of the first full day of the cruise from Venice to Greece is spent on the water.  We took full advantage of the late port stop and explored the ship. As we were getting closer to Kotor, we took in all the beauty of the mountains.

7 night greek isles cruise venice

At 2pm we arrived at our first port being Kotor in Montenegro.  Kotor is located between the mountains and the Bay of Kotor on the Adriatic Sea and is listed as a UNESCO World Natural and Historical Heritage Site .  Despite only having 6 hours in port (departure is at 8 pm), you get the opportunity to stroll the cobbled streets, admire the old buildings and explore the gorgeous little cafes and shops.

7 night greek isles cruise venice

Optional Norwegian Star Excursions – Kotor

In Kotor, we did the Budva and Kotor Montenegrin Pearl tour. Once we arrived at the port we met our guide at the port of Kotor.  Before driving to the town of Budva we drove to view Sveti Stefan, once a 15th-century fortified town on an island.

Today it is an exclusive resort.  After our photo stop, we headed to old Budva.  We did a walking tour of old Budva. We walked through the narrow streets of this fortified medieval town which was influenced by the ancient republic of Venice. After our tour of Budva, we returned to Kotor to stroll through the UNESCO World Heritage site of Kotor.

7 night greek isles cruise venice

Day 2: Corfu, Greece

On day 2 of the Greek Isles cruise, the ship docks in Corfu at 10 am. Corfu is said to be one of the lushest of the Greek Islands and is absolutely stunning with its dramatic blue waters and sweet little hillside villages.  With a full day of exploring, (the ship departs at 4 pm) you have plenty of time to explore the island.

Optional Norwegian Star Excursions – Corfu

The Norwegian Cruise – Greek Islands, has some great Corfu Excursions:

  • Best of Corfu
  • Achilleion Palace & Corfu Town
  • Scenic Island Flavours
  • Scenic Corfu & Island Views
  • 4×4 Adventure
  • Mountain Bike Expedition
  • Corfu Beach Break

Discover the best of Corfu on this tour. You’ll tour the island, visit a stunning palace and enjoy a traditional lunch with live entertainment at a local taverna. Drive through Corfu and arrive at Achilleon’s Palace built by order of Empress Elizabeth of Austria and completed in 1891. The empress had fallen in love with the natural beauty of the island during her 1861 visit and also developed a great appreciation for Greek history and mythology.

After a guided visit of the grounds and palace, you’ll continue to the traditional village of Kinopiastes. Enjoy a rich and traditional lunch at the famous Tripas Tavern accompanied by live Greek music and dancers. Board your coach for the drive back to the Old Town of Corfu where you’ll have the opportunity to either be dropped off, to walk through the narrow lanes and browse on your own, or return with the coach directly to your ship.

7 night greek isles cruise venice

Day 3: Santorini, Greece

Day 3 of one of the best Greek Isles cruises is a long day of cruising, so it’s a great opportunity to join in some of the onboard activities.  Once you dock in Santorini, you can enjoy its many beautiful beaches .

With so many things to do in Santorini and with limited time, we decided to join the Charming Oia Village tour that took us to both Oia and Fira where we took the cable car back down to our ship.

At 2 pm the ship docked into Santorini. One of the more popular Greek Islands, Santorini is a stop on all the best cruise Greek Islands tours.  The island is well known for its whitewashed villages hanging on the edge of the cliffs. With the ship departing at 10 pm, you have 8 full hours to explore the gorgeous island and discover volcanic Santorini .

Optional Norwegian Star Excursions – Santorini

The Norwegian Venice to the Greek Islands cruise has some great Santorini excursions:

  • Greek Style Celebration – Opa
  • Ancient Akrotiri & Wine Tasting
  • Charming Oia & Winery
  • Volcano Hiking
  • Charming Oia Village
  • Ultimate Santorini
  • 4×4 Island Adventure
  • Perivolos Beach Transfer

Built high up on the ridge of red rocks, Oia offers breathtaking views of the blue Aegean and the caldera below. Take a stroll around the narrow streets with free time to visit the art galleries, antique shops and perhaps enjoy a cup of coffee in one of the cafés or pastry shops.

Many artists have fallen in love with this idyllic setting and their presence is obvious in the many art galleries. This traditional village offers you spectacular photo opportunities of the famed blue domed churches and sundrenched verandas. If you have time, make sure to check out some of the best beaches in Santorini.

7 night greek isles cruise venice

Day 4: Mykonos, Greece

On day 4, you’ll arrive nice and early at the Mykonos cruise port.  Mykonos is a popular stop for cruises around the Greek Islands given it is a classic Greek island with whitewashed houses, blue-domed churches, windmills, and stunning Mykonos beaches .

Arriving at 8 am and departing at 3 pm, you’ll have almost a full day to explore Mykonos.  If you are lucky enough to spend some extra time in Mykonos, make sure to check out some of the best places to stay in Mykonos .

Optional Norwegian Star Excursions – Mykonos

The Norwegian Cruise Greek Isles tour has a few organized tours that you may wish to join, including:

  • Delos: Birthplace of Artemis & Apollo
  • Scenic Views of Mykonos
  • 4X4 Adventure & Beach
  • Mykonos of Foot
  • Mykonos Beach Transfer

In Mykonos, we did the Scenic Views of Mykonos tour that took us to an Ouzo factory.  Ouzo is a dry anise-flavored aperitif that is widely consumed in Greece and is Its taste is similar to other anise liqueurs.  We also got to explore some of the local beaches, white houses and churches and the world famous windmills.

After our tour we had some time to explore Mykonos and walked around the famous shopping streets, little Venice and of course enjoyed some delicious Greek food.  One dessert that I would highly recommend is the orange pie. Orange pie is a staple in every Greek household during the spring and summer season and I would highly recommend that you fill your belly with this delicious dessert.

7 night greek isles cruise venice

Day 5: Day at Sea

Sea days are meant for sleeping in, eating and enjoying the cruise ship.  We slept in and found ourselves lazily roaming around the ship from restaurant to restaurant.  There is no shortage of food on the cruise ship and you will want to try every one of the restaurants on board.

We lounged by the pool and walked a few laps around the jogging track to help burn off those extra desserts.

7 night greek isles cruise venice

Day 6: Dubrovnik, Croatia

After exploring the Greek Islands, this cruise from Venice to Croatia will arrive bright and early at the Dubrovnik cruise port.

Named “the pearl of the Adriatic” by the poet Lord Byron, you’ll love exploring this city’s gorgeous streets. Admire the old buildings with bright orange roofs and the lovely beaches.  Arriving at 7.30 am and departing at 1.30 pm, you’ll have around half the day for exploring.

Optional Norwegian Star Excursions – Dubrovnik

The Norwegian cruise from Venice to Dubrovnik as a few organized Dubrovnik Excursions:

  • Game of Thrones Tour Dubrovnik – Venture Through King’s Landing
  • Croatian Riviera & Dubrovnik Tours
  • Cabrio Panoramic Tour
  • Old Town, Riviera Drive & Wine Tasting
  • Dubrovnik, Village & Wine Tasting
  • Historic Dubrovnik
  • Walking Tour & Cable Car
  • Scenic Dubrovnik by Land and Sea
  • Sea Kayaking on the Adriatic
  • Tuk-Tuk Panoramic Ride and Old Town
  • Ultimate Dubrovnik
  • Dubrovnik Orientation & Konavle
  • There are several Kayaking Dubrovnik tours

I would highly recommend this.  We had enjoyed some Croatian pizza (I think it’s better than Italian pizza but don’t tell my husband I said that) and you can’t visit Dubrovnik without having palacinke (the Croatian version of a crepe).

If you are staying longer than a day, there are so many great day trips from Dubrovnik to enjoy.

Departure Dates and Pricing of the Norwegian Star Greek Isles Cruise

The Greek Isle cruises typically start departing in late May or early June and end mid-October.  The price of a 7 day Greek Isle cruise varies on the room category and the date that you decide to sail and typically starts at approximately $1000 per person for an inside room.

7 night greek isles cruise venice

Best Time to Cruise the Greek Islands

The best time to begin your Greek Islands cruising is anytime really, but I would recommend cruising in the early spring or fall.  It is fairly hot and crowded in Europe during the summer months. If you cruise at the beginning or end of the cruise season then you can enjoy comfortable weather conditions as well as smaller crowds.

Before You Go / Good to Know

  • Disembarkation usually begins 2 hours after docking.
  • Due to security reasons, all guests must be on board 2 hours before sailing.
  • Itineraries are subject to change at any time without notice.
  • Check your specific sailing for exact departure and arrival times. All times are local to the port.

Expert Tips for Pre-Cruise Bookings: Flights, Hotels, & More

By Sue Bryant

Last updated: May 31st, 2024

Celebrity Edge in Auckland, New Zealand

  • Find a Cruise

Setting sail on a cruise is a real adventure, with an exciting new destination to discover every day and all the comforts of your ship to enjoy, from fine dining to glittering entertainment.

So make the most of your dream vacation with a little advance planning. If your flights, hotels, ground transportation, and activities on board are all in place, you’ll be able to enjoy smooth sailing all the way.

With everything in place before you depart, you’ll have the space to unwind completely, whether you want to soak up the sunshine by the pool, indulge yourself in the spa, or enjoy the spectacular range of dining options on your Celebrity ship. You may even choose to arrive a day in advance, or stay on after your voyage to immerse yourself deeper into the local culture. Follow these expert tips and you’ll soon be embarking on the vacation of a lifetime.

Book through Celebrity for peace of mind

Airplane during sunset

There are several compelling reasons to choose Flights by Celebrity . You’ll enjoy 24/7 backup should anything go wrong. Our Flights by Celebrity℠ Specialists are constantly monitoring your flights and will jump in to help should you experience delays or cancellations.

What’s more, there are savings to be had. Our Lowest Airfare Guarantee* means you’ll get the best value in air travel. If you book with us and find a lower fare within 24 hours of booking, we’ll credit you 110% of the difference to spend onboard your cruise.

What’s more, you won’t have to pay for your flights until you pay the final balance for your cruise. And you can still collect airline miles and points.

Give Yourself Enough Time For Transportation Delays

Celebrity Apex in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Celebrity Apex in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

If you’re booking your flights independently, factor in the time it will take you to get through the airport, onto transportation, and to the port to join your ship. You will have been given an embarkation time, so work back from that. Cutting it too close will only cause you stress, particularly if the flight is late.

The same applies if you’re driving to the port. You’ll be able to pre-book parking, of course, but factor in plenty of time for traffic delays.

Plan flights carefully for disembarkation day at the end of your cruise, too. Your ship will dock early as departure day, also called turnaround day, is busy for the crew.

Normally, disembarkation will start around 8 am. But remember you have to get off the ship, through the terminal to collect your luggage, to the airport, and then check in two hours before your flight. So it makes sense to book an early afternoon or evening flight.

Break up your journey

Sometimes, it can be fun to break up your journey if you’re traveling a very long distance. This means you arrive fresh to board your cruise—and you get an extra vacation in one.

For example, if you’re flying to Australia for a cruise, consider a stopover in either Dubai or Singapore. If you are joining your cruise in Tokyo and are flying from the East Coast, you could stop over in Doha, Qatar, or even Istanbul for a day or two.

Flights to Europe often go through the big gateway airports: Madrid for cruises from Barcelona , or London, Amsterdam, or Paris for onward flights to Athens. These, too, make a great city break before joining your onward flight for the coast.

Extend your stay

Couple exploring the Colosseum in Rome, Italy

Colosseum in Rome, Italy

There are many reasons to arrive a day early for your cruise. You reduce the risk of getting tangled in flight delays on the day your cruise departs. You’ll have a chance to get over jet lag. Best of all, you can have a night out and discover the city, and then enjoy a relaxed start the following day.

Staying another night after your cruise is also a great idea. It’s always good to feel that your vacation hasn’t ended when you walk down the gangway for the last time. And you’ll have time to enjoy a city or destination and get to know it in depth.

Family sightseeing from Barcelona, Spain

La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, Spain

Celebrity can arrange all of this, booking City Stays for you in four- or five-star hotels, including transfers between the ship and hotel and then on to the airport, as well as sightseeing. Packages from one to three nights are available in cities including Rome, Barcelona, London, Athens, and Venice.

Alaska, too, lends itself beautifully to extending your stay. Take a look at Celebrity’s CruiseTours , which enable you to combine the magnificent Denali National Park with your Alaskan cruise. The two experiences complement one another, as you’ll see different scenery and even different wildlife inside the vast expanse of the park.

Select a hotel close to the port

Celebrity Edge in Sydney, Australia

Celebrity Edge in Sydney, Australia

If you’re going it alone for your pre-cruise stay, make sure you know where the port is in relation to your city stay. Sometimes, ports are some distance from the city. Cruises from Tokyo , for example, depart from Yokohama, a 50-minute drive from the city. Cruises from Venice sail from Ravenna, two hours’ journey down the coast.

Check with Celebrity where the ship is going to be docked; some cruise ports are enormous, with multiple terminals in different locations.

Ground Transportation

Book a transfer through celebrity.

Van transfer in Croatia

Celebrity offers shared transfers by coach and private transfers from airport to ship on embarkation and departure days. This is by far the most convenient and reliable option. Just ask your travel advisor to add transfers at the time of booking your cruise.

Of course, if you’re arriving before the cruise or staying on afterward, you will need to make your own arrangements to get to the port, unless you’ve booked a City Stay by Celebrity.

Make the most of your last day

Couple exploring the Acropolis in Athens, Greece

Acropolis in Athens, Greece

Often, intercontinental flights won’t depart till the evening, which will leave a whole day to fill. Why spend this at the airport when you could be out enjoying yourself?

In most ports, Celebrity offers a tour of some kind with a drop-off at the airport for evening flights. This means you don’t have the hassle of dragging your luggage around all day, or storing it—and you know you will be dropped off in time for check-in.

These tours are available in all kinds of ports. In Athens , for example, you could join a tour to the Acropolis before being dropped off at the airport. If your cruise ends in Rome, you could book an excursion through Celebrity that takes you to a country wine estate for a tasting before heading to the airport.

You can enjoy your last day in San Juan, Puerto Rico , too, with a guided tour of colorful Old San Juan that ends at the international airport.

Or you could stay on board and enjoy the facilities of the ship. In several European ports, Celebrity offers an “Extend Your Stay” program, which means you can store your luggage on board and relax by the pool. You’ll be able to use the WiFi, perhaps book a spa treatment, and enjoy a final, unhurried lunch on board. Extend Your Stay is included for guests in Royal Suites or above, and otherwise available to purchase.

Don’t always rely on taxis

Street view in Rome, Italy

Rome, Italy

Of course, airports are transportation hubs and there will always be taxi drivers willing to take you into the city, or to the port. Just bear in mind that you may need local currency to pay the driver—and ride-hailing isn’t always easy.

Sometimes, the port is a long way from the airport. In Rome , for example, ships sail from Civitavecchia, which is around an hour’s drive from Fiumicino, the main airport, a long way from the city (which is inland).

In Britain, the journey from London’s Heathrow Airport to the port of Southampton will take around 90 minutes. By all means prearrange a private transfer, but in London, in particular, a journey to Southampton in one of the traditional black cabs that wait at the airport will cost an eye-watering amount.

Planning Tips

Check visa requirements.

Make sure that your passport has at least six months left before it expires (a legal requirement for many countries) and that you have any necessary visas. Visit travel.state.gov to check the requirements for the countries you will be visiting.

Carry local currency

Euro bills

Take some local currency with you for taxis, tips, and incidental expenses. Of course, most airports will have an ATM, but you should have an idea of what exchange rate to expect, especially if you’re flying to a country with an unfamiliar currency. Taxi drivers in Europe or Asia are unlikely to accept U.S. dollars.

Remember your driver’s license

If there’s a likelihood that you will be renting a car during your trip (and remember, this could include an ATV, quad bike, or volunteering to be the designated driver in a jeep during a shore excursion), then bring your driver’s license with you.

Some countries, particularly in Europe, require an International Driver’s Permit if you want to rent a car. So if you’re intent on doing a self-drive excursion somewhere, check and get your permit arranged before you embark on your cruise.

Some Caribbean islands , like Antigua and the British Virgin Islands, will ask you to buy a temporary driving permit if you want to rent a car. This can be organized through the car rental agency on the spot.

Pack your hand luggage carefully

On embarkation day , pack essentials in your carry-on; you will part with your larger suitcases at check-in and they may not be delivered to your stateroom for a few hours.

Carry on medication and paperwork, of course, but also swimwear and sunblock. That way, you can head straight for the pool when you embark.

Plan Your Time Onboard

Choose shore excursions.

Beautiful waterfront of Mykonos Town, Greece

Mykonos Town, Greece

Pre-booking shore excursions is highly recommended as the most popular tours often sell out. Book ahead and you can plan your days around your time ashore.

A Celebrity shore excursion allows you to make the most of your time in port, with an expert guide to show you all the best places. You can relax, too, in the knowledge that if you’re on one of Celebrity’s excursions and there’s an unforeseen delay, the ship won’t leave without you.

Think a little about how your cruise will unfold. For example, if you’re flying east, you could be jet lagged for the first day or so, in which case, an afternoon activity might be preferable as getting up in the morning is more difficult.

Beautiful waterfront of Valletta, Malta

Valletta, Malta

Remember, too, not to overschedule. In Europe especially, it’s all too easy to feel you have to check off a bucket list item every day and end up exhausted. Pace yourself with a mix of full and half-day tours and some time to explore independently.

Couple relaxing on a beach in Grenada

Beach in Grenada

In the Caribbean , you’ll almost certainly want to build in some beach days, some of which you might want to book as a tour and others that are easy to plan yourself.

This is even more important if you’re traveling with teens, who are famously difficult to get moving in the mornings. Opt for tours with a later start if you’re going ashore as a family, or in the afternoon.

Of course, you can also book tours on board, but planning ahead is the best way to get your first choice.

Couple hiking in the Galapagos

Hiking in the Galapagos

The Galapagos is an exception as all the activities are included when you sail with Celebrity. Days take on a different rhythm here, with snorkeling, hiking, and Zodiac safaris taking place usually twice a day. You don’t need to do any planning as our expedition leaders arrange everything for you.

Read: Expert Cruise Planning Tips

Pre-book specialty dining

People enjoying food from the Rooftop Garden, Celebrity Ascent

Rooftop Garden, Celebrity Ascent

Once you’ve decided how your days will be spent, think about the evenings. Celebrity’s ships have a wonderful range of specialty dining, which can be pre-booked.

Set the stage; if, for example, you have an evening sailaway from dramatic Santorini, this is the night to plan dinner in the al-fresco Rooftop Garden Grill if you’re on an Edge-series ship, or The Lawn Club Grill on Celebrity Silhouette or Reflection. You’ll get spectacular views of one of those famous fiery sunsets.

If you’ve been exploring some beautiful Italian town all day, you might be in the mood for the Italian classics at the Tuscan Grille. Cruising the Norwegian fjords on an Edge-series ship? Dinner at Eden, with sweeping views of the surrounding scenery, would be perfect, especially in midsummer when the sun barely sets.

You can book all your specialty dining via the Celebrity website, or through the app once you’re onboard.

Plan your spa treatments

Couple enjoying Celebrity Cruises spa

Celebrity Cruises Spa

Spa treatments can also be booked in advance of your cruise. Again, a little planning can make for a much better experience. For example, if you want to look extra-special for the Evening Chic night on board, it’s a good idea to book a hair or nail appointment ahead, as the salon will be busy on a day with a more formal dress code for the evening.

If your idea of bliss is an aromatherapy massage or a luxurious facial, build in time for relaxing afterward in your ship’s thermal suite. For example, you wouldn’t want to rush straight from a heavenly massage to a full-on tour of an archaeological site on a hot day.

Think ahead for overnight port stays

Beautiful skyline of Florence, Italy

Florence, Italy

Many of Celebrity’s itineraries overnight in port, which means you’ll have a chance to explore after dark. In Europe, La Spezia is often an overnight stay, as it’s the gateway to both Florence and Pisa. So if you take a tour to Florence that day, you could stay in the city for dinner.

Vietnam and Thailand cruises overnight in Hanoi, a chance to jump ship and join an overnight mini-cruise on a small ship in spectacular Ha Long Bay, with dinner on board and tai chi on deck at sunrise.

A second overnight in Laemchabang, the port for Bangkok, presents another opportunity to pack an overnight bag and leave your ship for a night for a luxury hotel stay in the city center, close to all the nightlife. It’s a vacation within a vacation, as it were.

7 amazing cruise itineraries to book in 2024

I don't know about you, but each year, as the weather turns cold, I start daydreaming about getting out of Dodge — or, in my case, Pennsylvania. My mind wanders to cruises that will take me to places where the temperature is warmer, but I also take a hard look at the (exceptionally lengthy) list of places I'm longing to visit.

After digging through what's new for 2024, I've come up with a shortlist of sailings that I think are noteworthy. They range from a standard Bahamas voyage with a new twist and an extended Alaska sailing that includes a foray across the Arctic Circle to more far-flung destinations in the Asia-Pacific region.

Dream on, dear reader, and add these to your list of 2024 cruise itineraries.

Note: All prices listed are per person, based on double occupancy, unless otherwise noted. Fares do not include taxes and fees.

Seabourn's 'Kimberley Expedition: Waterfalls and Wandjinas' itinerary

Last year, the Australia and New Zealand cruise region gained momentum following the pandemic shutdown. In 2024, the hardly populated Australia region of The Kimberley is gaining popularity. Luxury cruise brand Seabourn will be offering a series of six 10-night voyages between Broome and Darwin on expedition vessel Seabourn Pursuit during what will be early winter in the southern hemisphere.

The line's " Kimberley Expedition: Waterfalls and Wandjinas " will take passengers to places along the coast few passengers are able to visit to see the stunning teal waters and horizontal waterfalls of Talbot Bay, sample wines in the Hunter River Region and check out nature preserves in Wyndham.

Details: The first sailing, from Darwin to Broome, embarks on June 12. The final voyage, from Broome to Darwin, departs on Aug. 1. Prices start from $6,134 per person ($613 per person, per night), double occupancy, for the July 2 cruise. All accommodations are suites with balconies.

Celebrity's 'Best of Japan' and 'Vietnam and Thailand' cruises

The number of voyages in Asia was trending upward notably prior to 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic brought cruising in the region to an extended halt. And it's once again on the rise. Following that curve, Celebrity Cruises will be running new 11- to 13-night Asia sailings in 2024 on two ships — Celebrity Millennium and Celebrity Solstice — that bring stops in Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Thailand.

What's notable about the offerings is that they will aim to immerse passengers further into the destinations by including overnights in a total of 11 ports across all itineraries. That means more time to explore Hanoi's Old Quarter as the sun sets, indulge in nighttime gastronomy in Hong Kong, visit one of Bangkok's many markets, or learn why Osaka is known for street food.

Details: Celebrity Millennium's " Best of Japan " cruises run from early mid-March to early October. At press time, the least expensive fares — for a 12-night sailing — start from $1,330 per person ($111 per person, per night) for an inside cabin. It travels round-trip from Yokohama and visits Hiroshima, Pusan and other ports, including Osaka, where the ship will overnight.

Celerbrity Solstice's Vietnam and Thailand cruises kick off in mid-January and run through March. The ship will resume them again in the fall of 2024 and run through the winter season. Prices start from $1,255 per person ($105 per person, per night) for an inside cabin. The voyage sails from Hong Kong to Singapore with stops in Da Nang and Koh Samui, plus overnights in Hanoi and Bangkok.

SeaDream's 'Yachting the Adriatic & Greek Isles' sailing

Here's one to put on your radar if you're looking to book — but not necessarily sail — in 2024. It's a new Mediterranean itinerary that doesn't start up for nearly three more years, in 2026. The SeaDream routing brings stops at seven ports that are rarely visited by cruise passengers. During the seven-night voyages, there will be calls at Primosten, Croatia; Cesme, Turkey; Cetubal, Portugal; and Kythira, Kythnos, Syvota and Tinos, Greece — making these sailings unique and well-suited to anyone who loves the region but who's looking for new places to experience.

SeaDream's small ships, each of which carries just 112 people, are able to reach locales about which passengers on megaships can only fantasize. Couple that with excellent service, and you'll be visiting the Our Lady of Loretto statue in Primosten, touring the Cesme Castle and lounging on stunning Greek beaches from a home base that puts you squarely in the lap of luxury.

Details: An itinerary that includes three of the seven new ports is the 11-night " Yachting the Adriatic & Greek Isles " itinerary from Venice, Italy, to Athens, Greece, departing on Aug. 8, 2026, on SeaDream I. Prices start from $10,399 per person ($946 per person, per night) for a room with a porthole view.

Holland America's 'Alaska Arctic Circle Solstice' Legendary Voyage

Alaska is an absolute must for anyone who enjoys the vastness of untouched wilderness, the wildlife it houses and adventurous pursuits it provides. (Think whale-watching, hiking on glaciers and salmon fishing.) However, Holland America 's Westerdam is hosting a 28-day sailing that's anything but your standard cruise to the Last Frontier .

Passengers will visit the usual Alaska ports, such as Ketchikan, Sitka and Juneau, with scenic sailing through the Inside Passage, past Hubbard Glacier and to Glacier Bay. But they can also expect less-common stops at places like Nome, Kodiak, Anchorage (with an overnight) and Homer. Plus, about halfway through, this cruise crosses the Arctic Circle — a rite of passage for many travelers.

Details: Holland America's 28-day " Alaska Arctic Circle Solstice " cruise — one of the line's Legendary Voyages, known for longer durations and a unique mix of port calls — sails June 9-July 7, round-trip from Seattle. Inside cabins start from $5,299 per person (about $189 per person, per night).

Silversea's summertime French Polynesia cruises

Another consideration for future travel is Silversea Cruises , which is featuring its first full-summer season in French Polynesia in 2026. Silver Whisper will offer two immersive itineraries, including overnights, across 17 voyages between April and September.

Passengers can choose seven-night sailings that visit idyllic favorites like Tahiti, Moorea and Huahine and which also include overnights in Bora Bora. Or, they can cruise for twice as long by selecting a 14-night voyage that calls on the same ports as the seven-night option but with Fakarava, Nuku Hiva, Fatu Hiva, Atuona and Tahuata added.

Details: Silversea's seven-night voyages begin April 6, 2026, and start from $5,650 per person ($808 per person, per night) for an ocean-view cabin.

The line's 14-night sailings start on April 20, 2026. Fares start from $10,450 per person ($747 per person, per night) for ocean-view accommodations.

New Bermuda voyages on Carnival Venezia

Beginning in May of 2025, Carnival Cruise Line 's Carnival Venezia will sail a series of eight four- and five-night cruises to Bermuda from New York. These itineraries are notable because the line is aiming to increase its presence there but also because the style of the ship is new to even most of the brand's most dedicated passengers.

In 2022, Carnival announced its Costa by Carnival concept after revealing it would be transferring ships from its Costa sister brand to the Carnival fleet. Now, when travelers visit the Gibb's Hill Lighthouse or check out the island's renowned pink-sand beaches during a sailing on Carnival Venezia, they can enjoy both the Italian style of the ship and Carnival's fun atmosphere and high service standards.

Details: Voyages kick off on May 22, 2025. Prices start from $429 per person ($108 per person, per night) for an inside cabin on a four-night cruise departing Sept. 18, 2025.

Disney Cruise Line's Lighthouse Point itineraries

Disney Cruise Line 's new Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point , a private destination on the Bahamian island of Eleuthera, is set to open in June with a three-night preview sailing on June 6 aboard Disney Magic. Following the initial voyage, the line will run regular three- to seven-night voyages to Lighthouse Point on Disney Magic, Disney Fantasy and Disney Dream.

The island will feature a dedicated family beach and water play area, an arts and culture pavilion focused on Bahamian culture, 20 family cabanas, an adults-only beach and a selection of shore excursion options.

Details: Prices for itineraries that include Lighthouse Point start from $624 per person ($208 per person, per night) for a three-night cruise on Disney Magic. The cruise departs Nov. 5 and sails from Fort Lauderdale's Port Everglades to San Juan, Puerto Rico.
