Hassle free returns

Cycle Solutions offer a full 18-month warranty on bikes purchased through our online shop, in line with the guidance set out in the Consumer Rights Acts 2015.

In the unfortunate event of your purchase being affected by a warranty-covered fault, please inform us by email ( [email protected] ). Please note that our Aftersales Department's operating hours are 09:00AM to 17:30PM Monday to Friday.

Once a warranty claim has been placed we will review the claim and advise on an appropriate course of action, please do not return your item until you have spoken to an advisor.

Please allow a minimum of 15 working days from receipt of returned item(s) for repair/replacement under warranty. We expect to be able to return the items within a maximum 30 working days, however, specific timescales can change based on the requirements of the individual case.

Most bikes and accessories are covered by a standard manufacturer's warranty but please be aware that there are faults/issues that are NOT covered by your warranty. This includes;

• Any normal wear and tear from using the product
• Improperly installed or repaired products (always follow the instruction guides for any product set-up or installation)
• Modifications to products
• Stripped pedal threads - a comprehensive guide on the correct installation of pedals is sent out with every bike
• E-bike batteries and associated componentry

Returns We operate a 365-day return policy so that you can purchase with complete peace of mind.

Once you have spoken to our aftersales department, you may need to return the item, you can arrange this via any courier/delivery service that you choose.

Please contact us in advance if you wish to return a bike If a bike needs to be returned due to an incorrect size being ordered, or the item is no longer wanted or ordered in error, then collection can be arranged at a cost of £40.00. If you do not wish to use our collection service then any alternative return method will need to be arranged at your own cost. Any Other Returns

Before sending your item back, please download and complete our returns form, completing all relevant sections and including this with your return - if your item is returned without the form included it can take significantly longer to correctly process the item and review the issue .

Item/s must be returned in the original packaging (in a resaleable condition), unused and unopened within 14-days of notification to cancel.

If Collect+ is not being used, then proof of postage will be required as Cycle Solutions is unable to accept liability for loss or damage whilst in transit back to us.

Additional non-returnable items:

· Any products that due to hygiene reasons, cannot be returned. This includes all undergarments (including socks) as well as padded shorts,bibshorts, tights, etc

· Downloadable software products

· Some health and personal care items

· CD/DVD's or software that have been opened

Your refund will be done with 30 days of receipt of returned goods and will not be done until the goods are received and inspected.

Returning a product under the WEEE Regulations.

What do the WEEE regulations mean?

WEEE (The Waste Electrical and electronic Equipment) Directive is UK law that governs the disposal and recycling of all electrical items. The law, introduced in 2014, puts the emphasis on the producers and suppliers of electrical equipment to pay for the collection, treatment and recovery of waste electricals.

As a retailer that sells new Electrical and Electronic products we will take back old items, provided it is a like-for-like replacement when you buy a new product from us. We will then responsibly dispose of the old product ensuring that it doesn’t end up in landfill.

Disposing of equipment yourself

If you choose not to send your equipment back to us for disposal then you can dispose of any electricals or electronics yourself at your local recycling centre, who will dispose of your equipment via a controlled recycling process.

What products fall under WEEE Regulations?

As part of the WEEE regulations, all electrical and electronic goods produced after August 2005 that fall under WEEE regulations should be clearly marked with a crossed-out bin symbol which means they should not be included with household waste so that they can be recycled

In the unlikely event that you are dissatisfied with your purchase please feel free to return your goods within 60 days of the purchase date for a full exchange or refund. Any item (excluding food and underwear) can be returned to us for any reason provided it is returned in ‘showroom condition’, with its original packaging, tags and a valid receipt/delivery note. Bike & Bulky Item Returns

If you wish to return your bike to us please keep it in the box it arrived in and call us on 01772 644340 and we will arrange a collection.

Please note the following:

• a) If we have sent you the incorrect bicycle, we will cover the cost of collection and delivery of the correct model.
• b) If we have delivered the bicycle you ordered, but upon inspection you decide it is not the bike for you, we will charge you £50.00 for the collection.

Please do not ride the bike as a full refund cannot be given if the bike has been used or damaged.

Return Items to a store

Any item (excluding food and underwear) can be returned to any Leisure Lakes Bikes store not just the one you made your purchase at, including those made online. The item must be returned in ‘showroom condition’, with its original packaging, tags and with a valid receipt/delivery note.

Wrong size or you don't like the item?

If returning items that are not suitable for either refund or exchange you are accountable for the delivery cost in returning it to us. You should always keep proof of postage and we advise you to use a ‘signed for service’ when returning goods.

New faulty items/ Wrong Item Received

If you have received items that are faulty or not what you ordered send them back to us (using the steps above) and we will cover the delivery cost of the return if it is within 14 days of delivery. If we have supplied the correct product, it is not faulty or it is outside of the 14 days we can not be liable for your postage charges. You should always keep proof of postage and we advise you to use a ‘signed for service’ when returning goods.

In the event that you have received items that are fault or not what you ordered, please send them back to us as soon as possible. Only in these cases will we cover the cost of the return shipping charges.

Faulty Items

If you have received items that are faulty please send them back to us using the steps above. Please include a covering letter describing the fault and if you would like the item replacing or refunding. Once the item arrives back at our Mail Order Centre you will receive an email notifying you about the progress. Faulty items are then forwarded onto the suppliers to confirm the warranty issue. Please be patient with us as we need to receive this confirmation from the suppliers before we can process your request for a replacement/refund.

When returning the item please use Royal Mail1 st Class Recorded* so that you have a tracking reference just in case! If your item arrived faulty we will refund your postage cost. If the item was in full working order at the time of delivery to you, we can not refund your return postage cost.

*In the event that you return a faulty/incorrect item we will refund your postage charge as long as it is 1 st Class Recorded or a lesser value service. We do not refund premium services.

Refunds will be processed using the same method of payment used for the original purchase. Credit and debit card refunds must be made to the card used for the original transaction, cheque payments will be refunded in cash but due to banking restrictions can only be refunded at least 14 days after the original purchase date. Due to the high incidence of fraud we regret that we are unable to offer any refund without a valid receipt/delivery note.

Refunds will be made for faulty or incorrect items, including any delivery charge incurred by the buyer (excluding ‘Special Delivery’) in the return of the item. If the products you ordered are delivered to you in good condition but you wish to return them for any reason we will refund the full value of the goods excluding any carriage charge upon receipt of your returned goods.

Items won’t be considered lost until after 15 working days of items beingdispatched. Once the 15 working days are up we will issue a refund or replacement.

Not received your order?

If you have not received your order please call us on 01772 644340 and a member of staff can confirm the shipping date. Unfortunately we cannot consider an item to be lost until 15 working days has passed (according to Royal Mail procedure). Once the 15 working days have passed we will be able to issue a full refund or resend your order.

The Remedy has undergone numerous revisions over the years. One thing that’s remained unchanged however, is its intent — it’s always been Trek’s do-everything trail bike.

In its current format, that means 140mm travel along with the choice of either 27.5in or 29in wheels — the biggest wheels being the preserve of the higher price point bikes. Even on the entry-level 27.5in bike, you still get all of the Trek’s frame technology, including its top-quality aluminium construction with an E2 tapered head tube and ABP (Active Braking Pivot) suspension.

You even get rubber armour on the underside of the down tube, to protect the frame from rock strikes, just like you do on the expensive carbon models.

The Remedy frame is not the lightest though, and the weight of the bike will creep up even further if you choose to fit a dropper post . The Remedy is, however, very solid — something that heavier riders will no doubt appreciate.

Being the entry-level bike in the range, the Remedy 7 doesn’t come with Trek’s new RE:aktiv damper. You still benefit from Trek’s DRCV shock, with its twin air can design. And Trek has finally delivered on its promise of two shocks in one; the Remedy 7 offers great support at sag, but thanks to the second air chamber — which sits on top of the shock and kicks in mid-way through the travel — you can still blow the O-ring clean off the shock body on bigger hits.

Up front, the 140mm RockShox Revelation fork doesn’t get Trek’s signature G2 steering geometry, with its increased offset, and the handling on the Remedy is so much better for it. The steering is much less twitchy at speed, and felt less floppy when climbing too.

OK, so the Remedy doesn’t get a dropper seatpost. But just like a TV without a remote, it doesn’t affect the quality of the picture. Yes, it’s a pain having to stop to raise or lower the saddle — just like getting off your ass to switch channels — but given that the Trek is £200 cheaper than similarly performing bikes, you could actually buy yourself a RockShox Reverb with change to spare.

We never thought we’d say this about a Trek, but the Remedy had a 70mm stem! And while 70mm isn’t short by today’s standards, it offered the best fit and feel straight out of the box. The 750mm bar is plenty wide enough, but it had a little too much backsweep for our liking. This probably worked in Trek’s favour though, as the profile of the bar had the same effect as reducing the stem length.

Performance

When the Trek showed up, we thought we’d been sent the women’s version by mistake — the frame looked so low-slung and compact. The numbers don’t lie, however, and sizing and reach on the 19.5in frame felt absolutely bang-on once we hit the trails.

Best of all, it took minimal effort on our part to get a good suspension set-up — the Remedy offering the most neutral and balanced ride from the get-go.

The rear suspension provided a lot of support, and we loved being able to ride it, up or down, with the shock always in the open setting. It just felt so efficient and responsive. It also comes with a Bottomless Token preinstalled in the fork.

It’s one seriously solid bike too. Slam a berm, or land a drop sideways, and the Remedy brushes it off and presses ahead with no loss of pace or composure. Add into the mix that the rear tyre always breaks traction just before the front washes out, and it’s a sure-fire recipe for a fun, confidence-inspiring trail bike.

Even though the Remedy 7 27.5 is the entry-level model, it’s got all the bases covered. The alloy frame is bomber solid, the 140mm travel suspension is superbly tuned and easy to set up, and while the specification isn’t standout, it’s competitive and, more importantly, functional. The bike feels built to last too. Of course, there are some things we’d change to gain those final few per cent in performance — like swapping the handlebar and tyres — but these are easy fixes. Trek’s already got the perfect blend of ingredients, and any changes would just be the icing on the cake.
