After a 4.5hr drive to see the show we weren’t disappointed!
Lewis Capaldi was first up and as funny and great as ever. Had the crowd laughing.
The Darkness were not my thing but they engaged with one particular guy called “Rick” in the crowd, who also sang his heart out for an appreciative audience.
The main man Ed appeared on stage around 8.30pm with a huge smile on his face, to an immense welcome from the Ipswich crowd, he was born not too far away, so was nice to see him finish this huge 2 year world tour at home.
Also he gave hundreds of free tickets to the pupils of the school he attended when he lived there.
His vocals were simply incredible, loud, strong, smooth and steamy, just beautiful !!
Screen graphics and timings were perfect too.
His guitar playing was awesome to watch and I have no idea how he concentrates on so many things at once with the loop, that is pure talent and the build up and sound in some songs ie Eraser, Bloodstream and the awesome You need me,I don’t need you gave me goosebumps.
Ed was joined for Galway Girl by Beoga which was brilliant.
Special guest Stormzy for “Shape of You” was the icing on the cake and I’m so pleased I bought the tickets last year, they were worth every penny.
Only complaint was the rude and miserable guy behind the official merch counter!! Spending £50 on a hoodie for my daughter meant I had to save for it and it would have been nice to have had a “hello” a “thank-you” or any kind of a smile!!!
Luckily the bar staff were friendly, smiley and helpful as were the local people.
Would 100% recommend ED SHEERAN as someone to see live, he is INCREDIBLE.

Let me just start off by saying Ed Sheeran is an amazing performer and speaker. He is comedic and doesn't require thousands of lights and a massive stage to impress thousands. He stayed interactive with the crowd very well. This is my 3rd concert ever and it was both the best and worst I have ever.
Ed Sheeran did amazing, he isn't the issue. As people know in concerts you stand and dance to most songs and sit (under circumstances) when ballads are playing or the performer is speaking. So- I was standing during one of Ed Sheeran's many sings along/dancing songs. I am a 6 foot tall 13 years old there for my birthday. In the area, I was in many people asked me to sit while he talked which I happily obliged to then learning the rules.
It was all fine until one man yelled in a very rude/angry voice yelled at me (during a dancing song) "SIT DOWN IDIOT IN THE BLACK HAT." Which at the very moment I didn't recognize as myself until my father went to lash back (as any protective super concert dad would do). This is something I had never experienced. So for the rest of the concert, I sat having an emotional/mental breakdown.
I'm not sure if it was the music or the people that made me cry so much. This was an experience I will learn from. Unfortunately, it is (probably) because Ed Sheeran reins in a large age group as an audience. This means sometimes people will be cranky, rude, or just plain snarky.
I understand if someone handicapped asked me to sit because they couldn't stand. But this man that yelled at me was about 50 or younger. I hope he ended up enjoying his concert because by halfway through my whole 6' or taller family stood and danced. He sat and everyone around him was asking him to join.
Sorry for my rant. Ed Sheeran is an amazing performer. I just thought you should know that people that (I know) will be everywhere (and we cant do much about them). But it was rude.
Great show! I bought my wife and I tickets as a gift for her (she was a huge Ed Sheeran fan even before he was famous) and we had a great time. My wife had never been to the venue, and while I had been to shows at Consol Enery Center before this was the first show I saw there since it became PPG Paints Arena. Everything about the production and performances (lights, audio, visuals, crew, musicians etc) went off with nary a hitch and was executed in a very timely manner. Props to all involved.
James Blunt opened, and like many people there (as he joked) I only knew one of his songs: "You're Beautiful". He was funny, charismatic, a good showman, and a good sport. He put on a high quality emotion filled performance, and despite his music being on the sadder side still managed to pump everyone up for Ed Sheeran. "Don't Give Me Those Eyes" was a highlight. He hung out in the Captain Morgan lounge after his performance and invited anyone interested to come hang with him. I came in not really knowing who he was and left checking out his latest music and regretting not grabbing a beer with him.
Than Ed came out (my wife had a pinch me I'm dreaming moment). He was noticeably quieter and a bit more reserved than Blunt when addressing the audience, but quickly dove in. I was always aware Ed was a talented solo artist, but you really appreciate his talent on a different level when you actually hear him perform outside of a studio live with just him and a guitar. Most of his songs were studio quality. A few songs dipped in quality but for charming and understandable reasons like audience involvement and impressive sped-up improv (i.e. the "Don't" and "New Man" mashup). He played nearly all the songs my wife and I were looking for ("Perfect", "A-Team", "Galway Girl", "Nancy Mulligan", "Thinking Out Loud", etc.). Since this was the "Divide" tour he played almost every song off that album (but not all: no "Barcelona", "Bibia be ye ye", etc.) He also played a lot of his older songs, including an audience request for "Cold Coffee" (he stated it was the first time he performed it live since 2010-2011). I also liked how he put on a Pittsburgh Penguins jersey during his closing song "You Need Me and I Don't Need You".
TLDR it was one of the best shows I have seen.

Taylor Swift's Eras Tour: All the U.S. and international dates and opening acts
Taylor Swift opened the Eras Tour at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona — which rebranded itself as "Swift Cit y" for the March 17 and 18 concerts — with a triumphant return to live performance as the first act in the history of that venue to sell out two nights on the same tour.
By that point, she'd already broken the all-time record for most concert tickets sold by an artist in a single day and passed Madonna's Sticky & Sweet Tour as the highest-grossing tour in history by a female artist.
And Swift rose to the occasion , leading her band through a marathon 44-song set that lasted more than three hours while delivering on her promise of "a journey through all of my musical eras."
So what does she do for an encore? Here's where the Eras Tour is headed next, adding two surprise songs to the set at each show. Here's a look at what she's played so far .

“Y’all, this is my first tour ever!” Megan Thee Stallion shouted with glee after picking up a floral bouquet thrown onto the stage by a fan. Surprisingly, after headlining and performing at numerous festivals in the years since her star began to rise in 2017, Stallion’s “Hot Girl Summer ” is her first full-scale headlining trek, and on this Tuesday night she’d sold out New York’s iconic Madison Square Garden.
Popular on Variety
The energy peaked and the crowd went batshit when a special guest walked onstage to show her support: Cardi B. The two rapped “Bongos” and their smash single “WAP,” although Cardi was more focused on dancing. Next, Stallion’s opener GloRilla, whose set earlier in the night got a visit from A Boogie Wit da Hoodie, came out joined the pair for “Wanna Be.”
“Y’all wanna hear ‘Wanna Be’ with muthafuckin Cardi B?” GloRilla shouted. “‘Wanna Be’ muthafucking remix about to drop y’all — be ready. Stay tuned!”
But just when it seemed the audience couldn’t get any rowdier, “Savage Remix” came thundering through the speakers, although Beyonce did not join in for their joint 2019 hit, which for many is filled with memories of learning TikTok dances at home to pass the time during pandemic lockdown.
She closed out “Savage” and the night, picking up another bouquet as confetti drenched the stage, blowing kisses and saying a tearful goodnight: “I love you, New York Hotties!”

ENSOULED WORLD TOUR 2024
Please see below a complete list of all tickets now on available to purchase. More ticket links will be added as concerts are announced…
In the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, we have once again partnered with Twickets so that you can buy / sell spare tickets at the price they were meant to be sold for, protecting both buyers and sellers from fraud and overpricing. So if a show is SOLD OUT and you are looking for tickets, or if you can no longer attend one of our concerts, see our official Twickets page HERE .
In the USA and Canada, we also want to give our supporters, not scalpers, the best chance to buy tickets at face value. To help achieve this, the tour will be using Ticketmaster’s Face Value Exchange where, if needed, you can resell your ticket to other fans at the original price paid. To help protect the Exchange, THE THE has also chosen to make tickets for this tour mobile only and restricted from transfer.* Please note, a valid bank account or debit card within the country of your event is required to sell on the Face Value Exchange.
*New York, Illinois, Colorado, Virginia and Connecticut have passed state laws requiring unlimited ticket resale and limiting artists’ ability to determine how their tickets are resold. To adhere to local law, tickets in these states will not be restricted from transfer but the artist encourages fans to use the Face Value Exchange.

Focus: European automakers need time, not tariffs, to fend off China competition
Europe's car giants won't have much time to restructure their operations and product lines to compete with ascendant Chinese automakers, and stiffer tariffs will do little to protect the status quo, industry executives said during a Reuters event.

'Taylor Swift baby' goes viral at concert. Are kids allowed – and should you bring them?
![tour dates a](https://www.usatoday.com/gcdn/-mm-/6439e502826fe719d0a9e25df780407d08a4671d/c=76-21-521-466/local/-/media/2018/12/18/USATODAY/USATODAY/636807442730044982-Marco-Della-Cava.png?width=48&height=48&fit=crop&format=pjpg&auto=webp)
When is bringing a baby to a concert not OK? Apparently, when that baby is lying on the floor.
At least that's the consensus of social media after a photo went viral this weekend showing an infant flat on its back on the floor of Taylor Swift's Eras Tour concert Friday night at La Défense Arena in Paris.
The controversial picture − allegedly snapped at the show by another attendee, @jacnights13 , and then shared by a range of Swiftie fan accounts − depicts a baby wearing a light-up wristband in the pit area (no seats) with a person, presumably one of the parents, hovering over the child. The account has since been made private.
Related shots have surfaced online , including one posted on X by @irondaya, which showed the baby on the floor seemingly snoozing away while fans milled around. "The lack of common sense is astonishing to me," the post read in part.
While the baby did appear to have noise-reducing headphones on, the image of an infant lying on the ground − while adult feet stomp around dangerously close around it − generated largely alarmed reactions, says fanfluencer Olivia Levin, who shared the image on her popular Instagram account, Swifties for Eternity .
Need a break? Play the USA TODAY Daily Crossword Puzzle.
"From what I’ve seen, mostly people were appalled by it," says Levin, 24, of Nashville, Tennessee, who says she decided to take her post down because the baby's face wasn't blurred out.
"Sure, a few people in my comments and DMs said to me, 'You’re not a mother or parent and can’t understand what we do for our kids, it's my only opportunity to see a Taylor Swift concert.' Others said that they parent different in Europe, which was interesting," she says. "But most completely disagreed. It brings up an important conversation about how young is too young to be at a show."
At the innumerable Taylor Swift concerts she has attended , Levin says she has seen young girls and even toddlers, but "never a baby."
Typical of the horrified reaction was a comment on X by @whatamind13 next to a photo of a thoroughly packed stadium: "just to paint the full picture this is general admission at the Paris show tonight… and that baby is somewhere in the floor AT THIS SHOW ! ... terrible parenting."
The rules around kids at shows can vary from promoter to promoter, venue to venue and country to country. Generally speaking, the rules are actually guidelines. The only restrictions might revolve around the age at which a child must show up with a ticket as opposed to going in free.
The La Défense Arena website notes that the venue “ doesn’t recommend bringing children under the age of 4 , even if accompanied, particularly due to the high volume.” It also notes that strollers are prohibited, which would explain why this Swiftie could only rest their baby on the floor.
A venue spokesperson told the New York Post's Page Six that the fan in question would have been offered a place to sit: "For spectators with a young child in the floor, an alternative seating arrangement has been proposed but refused by ticket holders .”
A quick Google search reveals that plenty of parents are seeking guidance on the best way to bring a baby to a concert. Others ask whether the practice is wise.
A blog post on the e-commerce site Tushbaby asks "Can you take babies to concerts?" and advises that infants wear earplugs and, when possible, be taken to concerts that are "appropriate for their age and temperament." Beyond providing food and drinks, parents should be prepared to leave if the experience proves overwhelming for their baby, the post says.
The website Scary Mommy, which connects mothers on a range of parenting topics, featured a post a few years ago from a San Antonio woman whose sitter canceled at the last minute. That led Katarina Garcia and her partner to decide to buy some headphones at take their 5-month-old son to an all-day outdoor rock concert.
The Eras Tour in Paris: Taylor Swift sings 'The Alchemy' as Travis Kelce attends
Among the positives of her experience: Babies are often free at shows, music "is great for a child's development," and your "baby will be more adaptable."
"Taking an infant to a loud concert may seem anxiety-inducing, but it can also be a lot of fun and a great way to make memories," Garcia wrote. "I’m grateful I did it, because who knows if my son will ever get to experience Fleetwood Mac as an adult."
The American Academy of Audiology warns that children risk hearing loss if they are exposed to prolonged loud noises, with concerts ranking just below gunshots and jackhammers as hearing killers. Exposure beyond 30 minutes at a time is not recommended, according to their guidelines .
But what about just buying a pair of noise canceling headphones, is that enough to bring baby to the show? Not so fast, says Linda Dahl, an ear, nose and throat specialist with Northwell Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City.
"Those earmuffs can reduce noise by maybe 30 decibels, but concerts can be more than 100 decibels,” she says. “I’m not a fan” of earmuffs as a solution.
Dahl notes that babies have particularly sensitive and not-yet fully developed ears, and many of them often hear loud noises in an amplified way compared to adults. What’s more, any tests on babies to determine if there are hearing issues are inconclusive for the simple reason that babies cannot tell you if they are hearing something or not, she says.
If babies do have to be exposed to loud noises, beyond using ear muffs make keep the exposure to 20 minutes on and 20 minutes off, she says.
Getting a Taylor Swift fan to leave the show every 20 minutes is likely a tall order, doting parent or not.
Says Dahl, “At that, you might just think, 'Do I or my baby have to go to the concert?' ”
Alaska mayor who wanted to give the homeless a one-way ticket out of Anchorage concedes election
The incumbent mayor of Alaska’s largest city has lost his re-election bid
ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Anchorage Mayor Dave Bronson, who wanted to give the homeless one-way plane tickets out of Alaska’s largest city, has lost his bid for re-election.
Bronson on Thursday conceded this month’s runoff election to his challenger, Suzanne LaFrance.
“After a long and hard-fought campaign, today I called Suzanne LaFrance to congratulate her on becoming the next mayor of Anchorage and to wish her the best as she prepares to assume the responsibility of leading our great city,” Bronson said in a statement.

- Mark Jackson appointed to NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Committee
![tour dates a tour dates a](https://www.ncaa.com/_flysystem/public-s3/styles/large_16x9/public-s3/thumbnails/2024-04/osm-2024-thumb.jpg?h=e9d32cb6&itok=6lP1pfLR)
Cleveland, Ohio — Villanova Vice President and Athletics Director Mark Jackson has been appointed to the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Committee, replacing former Butler Athletics Director Barry Collier, who retired April 30. Jackson will fill the final two years of Collier's original five-year term as the Big East Conference's representative on the committee.
Since Jackson assumed his role as athletics director in 2015, he has seen the Wildcats capture two national championships in men's basketball (2016 and 2018), while the entire department has been honored for excelling at an elite level in athletics competition, academic performance, community service and leadership.
The Boston native played defensive back on the football team at Colby and received a bachelor's degree from the college in 1995. He also earned a master's degree in public policy from Trinity (Connecticut) in 1997. He worked for two National Football League teams, first serving as a coaching assistant with the New England Patriots from 1998-2000 and then as director of football development for the Oakland Raiders from 2007-08.
↩️ THROWBACK: A closer look at Villanova's last-second victory in the 2016 national championship
But it's in the collegiate space where Jackson has made his mark. In addition to his nearly nine years at Villanova, he also served as senior associate director of athletics and chief innovation officer at Southern California, where he had responsibility for the school's football, baseball and women's lacrosse teams, as well as support services, including sports medicine, strength and conditioning, nutrition, and apparel operations. Before Southern California, Jackson worked at Syracuse as the executive senior associate athletics director, overseeing all aspects of athletic administration and support for the school's 20 men's and women's programs, including men's and women's basketball.
He also has been heavily involved with the NCAA, assisting with the development of robust compliance programs at Southern California and Syracuse, as well as serving on the Division I Council. He also represented the council on the Strategic Vision and Planning Committee, which has oversight of administrative functions related to the management of the Division I governance structure, including business and legal affairs, strategic planning and research, Division I membership activities, and health and safety matters.
"It is a great honor to be selected to complete the term of Barry Collier on the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Committee," Jackson said. "Barry has been a wonderful steward of our game as both a successful head coach and athletics director. I am grateful for his friendship and the wisdom he has shared with me over the years. As Villanova's athletics director, I have been blessed to work at an institution with an amazing basketball history and in a conference, the Big East, that has been at the forefront of college basketball since its inception. I am grateful to the NCAA for placing its trust in me and look forward to serving with so many distinguished colleagues in the next two seasons."
