Key Takeaways

  • You can explore the Statue of Liberty on your own or take a guided tour.
  • Some tour operators include additional New York City attractions in their Statue of Liberty tours.
  • Round-trip ferry service to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty is typically included in tour rates.

The Statue of Liberty is America's most iconic and enduring symbol of freedom. A gift from the French, "The Statue of Liberty Enlightening the World" – its official name – was dedicated in 1886. It was often the first thing immigrants to the United States saw as they sailed to Ellis Island. The statue holds a torch in one hand and a tablet inscribed with the date of the Declaration of Independence in the other. She stands a little more than 300 feet tall and is made of copper, which has oxidized over time to create her signature green patina. To make the most of your visit to this UNESCO World Heritage Site, consider these key tips.

Several independent tour companies offer tours to the Statue of Liberty that include private guides and extra perks like priority ferry boarding. Some also combine trips to the Statue of Liberty with visits to other attractions, such as the 9/11 Memorial . However, these companies are not official vendors of the national park service, meaning there may be unnecessary charges.

Statue of Liberty Cruises

One of the best ways to view Lady Liberty is from the water. Consider one of these Statue of Liberty cruises for a unique vantage point.

How to Tour the Statue of Liberty On Your Own

statue of liberty torch seen from the bottom

Getting There: You'll need to take a ferry to reach Liberty Island. Statue City Cruises is the official ferry provider for the National Park Service, and the only ferry service authorized to provide transportation to and from Liberty Island. Before you board, you'll go through an airport-style security screening. The ferry departs from two locations: Battery Park in New York City and Liberty State Park in Jersey City, New Jersey. Ferry operators recommend arriving about 30 minutes ahead of your reserved time.

You can reach Battery Park via public transportation, such as the subway or bus. The 4 and 5 trains stop at Bowling Green; the M5, M15 and M20 bus routes also stop within walking distance of the ferry. Driving is an option, but parking is limited. If you're planning to do more sightseeing, heed the advice of reviewers and sign up for a hop-on, hop-off bus tour , many of which stop at Battery Park.

For ferry departures from New Jersey's Liberty State Park, you can arrive via the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail. Plenty of parking is available, for a fee, if you choose to drive.

Tickets: Tickets, which cost $25 for adults and $16 for kids ages 4 to 12, cover round-trip ferry transportation and access to specific park attractions. To access both the pedestal and the crown, you need to reserve and purchase timed tickets before your trip. Tickets to the pedestal sell out quickly, and you'll likely need to book tickets to the crown at least three months in advance.

Experiences: Visitors can stop by the Information Center and explore the Statue of Liberty Museum The museum houses artifacts, including the original torch, as well as multimedia displays detailing the statue's history and creation. Meanwhile, the on-site Information Center offers brochures and tour schedules. Kids can join the Junior Ranger program at the center by picking up a booklet of activities to complete to earn a special badge. Any visitor is welcome to take a free Park Ranger guided tour of the statue's exterior, which explains how the statue was made, its symbolism and more, or use a self-guided audio tour.

The pedestal stands at about half the height of the monument and boasts panoramic views of New Jersey, New York City, the New York Harbor and Ellis Island. Brave-hearted visitors will want to take the narrow, double-helix steps to the statue's crown for a bird's-eye view of the city. There are 162 steps from the top of the pedestal to the top of the crown. There is no elevator and the park service discourages this trek for visitors who suffer from heart and respiratory conditions, claustrophobia, acrophobia and vertigo. Children must be at least 42 inches tall to safely climb the stairs.

What to Bring: You will need an ID to pick up your tickets from will call (if you choose to get your tickets there). If you plan to visit the crown, each ticket holder will need to show a valid ID along with the ticket that bears their name; minors without ID are exempt from this policy. Locker facilities to store personal items during your visit are available at the base of the statue; lockers accept quarters only.

No large bags (carry-on luggage, large suitcases, etc.) are allowed on Liberty Island. Backpacks, strollers, large umbrellas and food and drink are prohibited inside the statue.

Restrooms: Restrooms are available in the gift shop and in the statue's lobby.

Traveler Tips: Travelers love seeing the Statue of Liberty up close. Multiple tourists recommend a morning visit to make sure you have enough time to see everything, especially if you combine your trip to Lady Liberty with a visit to nearby Ellis Island. If you purchase a ferry ticket for 2 p.m. or later, you will not be able to go to both islands, but will have to pick either Liberty or Ellis Island. Reviewers recommend allotting at least half a day to see everything and suggest going in the morning to avoid crowds. They also stress booking tickets to the crown several months in advance to make sure you obtain tickets.

Statue of Liberty tour FAQs

If you still have questions about tours to the Statue of Liberty , these FAQs should help to clear up any confusion.

What is the Statue of Liberty ferry schedule?

The ferry departs from Battery Park every 20-25 minutes, starting at 9:00 am, with the last ferry leaving Battery Park at 3:30 pm. The ride to Liberty Island takes 10-15 minutes. Keep in mind the Statue of Liberty ferry schedule varies slightly depending on whether it’s low or peak season, so I recommend checking ahead of time.

What is the best view of the Statue of Liberty?

The answer depends on what kind of view of the Statue of Liberty you want. If you want an up-close view, the best option is to see it from the water, on a boat tour. That said, you can get amazing views of Lady Liberty from the air on a helicopter tour, or from One World Observatory since it’s the best observation deck in NYC that’s closest to Liberty Island.

When is the best time to visit the Statue of Liberty?

The best time to visit the Statue of Liberty is in the morning because you can avoid the crowds and enjoy more time at the landmark.

How do you see the Statue of Liberty for free?

The cheapest way to see the Statue of Liberty is by visiting the parks that overlook Liberty Island, like Liberty State Park in New Jersey or Battery Park in Manhattan. You could also take the Staten Island ferry, which cruises past Liberty Island. While it doesn’t get as close as the Statue of Liberty ferry, it’s a free activity in NYC that grants you decent views.

With that, you have all the info you need to book your Statue of Liberty tour ! I’m sure one of these tours will appeal to you, but if you have any questions, feel free to leave me a comment below. I’ll be happy to help you out! Until then, have a wonderful trip.

I’d honestly say that if you’re going to visit just one area of New York City, it should be Liberty and Ellis Island. The historical significance surrounding immigration to the United States is immense, as it was often the first sight immigrants saw as they arrived in America by boat.

Hear all kinds of stories and learn about the background of each location with the Private Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island Tour !

However, most will start off in Battery Park so you have time to explore the forts and other interesting wartime structures here.

Board the ferry to Liberty Island, where you’ll get to admire the beautiful statue from up close and even head up to the pedestal or crown if you’d like (and have previously selected this option). On the island, you’ll be able to venture around the grounds before heading on over to the next-door Ellis Island.

Hop on the earliest ferry to miss the crowds, enjoying the amazing New York skyline and the impressive Brooklyn Bridge. Once you disembark, you’ll head with your guide over to the Statue of Liberty Museum.

This modern and immersive museum provides an invaluable educational experience, perfect if you’re looking to learn more about the statue’s significance and history, gaining a deeper appreciation for it.

After seeing Lady Liberty’s original torch, make sure to check out the amazing outdoor terrace and elevated observation deck for full panoramic views of the skyline, statue, and harbor! It makes for some fantastic photos.

Next, hop on another brief ferry over to Ellis Island, where you’ll also learn in a small group setting about what immigration here was like over the years and how around a whopping 8 million immigrants passed through its doors!

The included official audio guide was one of the best I’ve experienced, and you’ll even get to search passenger records for family names which is particularly special if you have family who came through the island. If you’ve worked up an appetite, pay a visit to their cafeteria before heading back on the ferry to Manhattan!

Appreciate the architecture and design that allows in natural light, harmonizing with the beautiful natural surroundings seamlessly. The exhibits and collections insight perfectly showcase the history and importance of our Statue of Liberty with countless presentations, interactive displays, and artifacts.

Our guide was clearly very knowledgeable and experienced, easily navigating us through the 2 security screenings so we could spend as much time as possible exploring.

Next up is Ellis Island, where you’ll become drawn into America’s Immigration Museum and see first-hand where millions of immigrants first arrived to one day become Americans.

This evocative experience leads you in their footsteps, through the Great Hall, Stairs of Separation, and the famous Kissing Post. Thanks to the history lessons learned, the interactive elements, and the flexible tour times, we highly suggest this tour for people of all ages – including young children!

We found it to be a more warm and informative experience, with a small group that shares this deeper sense of meaning and empathy.

4. Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and 9/11 Memorial Pools Guided Tour

  • Duration:  5 hours
  • Departure:  24 State St, New York, NY 10004
  • Departure Time: 8:45 AM, 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM
  • Includes:  Tour guide, Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island tickets, 9/11 Museum ticket (if option selected)

This next tour is perhaps the most comprehensive of its kind, combining trips to 3 of the most important landmarks in New York City – if not the entire country. I don’t consider myself a particularly “emotional” person, but I felt this one to pull at the heartstrings in many ways.

If you’d like to explore these iconic places from different aspects of American history and culture, you have to go on the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and 9/11 Memorial Pools Guided Tour !

Not only that, but this experience is one of those biggest bang for your buck tours. It’s super affordable when you consider everything you’re about to see and is much cheaper than tons of other tours that don’t even offer the exclusivity this does.

Start off by meeting your guide close to where the ferries take off, hopping on and enjoying the amazing views of the New York skyline and the amazing Statue of Liberty in the distance.

Once you arrive to Liberty Island, you’ll head over to the museum to learn just how important the statue is, see the original torch, and much more.

As it is a small group setting, you’ll be able to ask your guide questions and move easier through each location without waiting for a big crowd of people. Spend some time walking around and enjoying the panoramic views of the harbor and surrounding architecture before taking a short ferry ride over to Ellis Island.

Once at Ellis Island, you’ll gain valuable insight into the immigration process in the 1800s and how it changed over the years. There are tons of different media displays, artifacts, and the center itself is a sight to behold.

After taking a ferry back to Manhattan, you’ll then head over to the moving 9/11 Memorial with the pools that really do make you feel a sort of emptiness left where the towers once stood.

If you’d like, you can add on an optional pedestal upgrade or 9/11 Museum visit, which is highly recommended. However, just seeing the pools and listening to the guide’s commentary surrounding them is quite the experience in itself.

5. Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island Tour

  • Duration:  3 hours
  • Departure:  One Battery Park Plaza
  • Departure Time: 9:00 AM
  • Includes: Live Guide, Round Trip Ferry Service, Reserve Round Trip Ferry Ticket, Admission: Statue of Liberty Museum, Admission: Ellis Island Museum

If you have some free time in the morning, grab yourself a tasty breakfast or coffee and enjoy the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island Tour . I found this one to be perfect if you’re looking for a well-planned experience that is very well-paced with a professional guide who is clearly local to the city.

It’s a million times better than just going on a general New York City tour if you’re looking to really dig deep into these 2 landmarks.

Just like with many others on this guide, your tour starts by you meeting your guide and the rest of your group at Battery Park Plaza. This park is actually a pretty cool place to check out, too, so if you arrive early you’ll still have things to do.

At 9:00 am the ferry will depart, so make sure to get there at least 15 minutes before so everyone is accounted for and ready to go!

The first stop is once again Liberty Island, which is just a fascinating place to walk around and enjoy the surrounding landscapes. However, the majority of your time here today will be spent in the modern Statue of Liberty Museum, which opened up just a few years ago.

I really liked the theater, where you can enjoy short films that dive deep into the statue’s history and how significant it was to the United States from the very beginning.

If you’re looking to take some photos with other members of your party, the outdoor terrace and elevated promenade are perfect! You have the New York skyline sitting right behind you, and of course, the Statue of Liberty right there!

Next, pop on over to the legendary Ellis Island, where millions of immigrants arrived to start their new lives and took their first steps towards being Americans!

Your ticket includes the round-trip ferry boat to both Liberty Island and Ellis Island, as well as an audio tour for both islands. However, you will need to pass through a second security screening and store your belongings in a locker before entering the monument.

The length of the Statue of Liberty tour depends on how long you wish to stay and which ticket option you have. Visitors typically allot a few hours to tour Liberty Island and the statue. Visitors to the statue’s crown are only permitted to stay for a few minutes, while those visiting the pedestal are not limited.

What are the main attractions on Liberty Island?

Well, the main attraction of course is the Statue of Liberty. The worldwide symbol of freedom and democracy. You can admire the statue from different angles, learn about its history and construction at the museum, and enjoy panoramic views of New York Harbor from the pedestal or the crown. You can also explore the grounds of the island, which used to be a military fort and a quarantine station.

What are some tips for Statue of Liberty tours?

  • Plan ahead and book your tickets in advance, as they tend to sell out quickly, especially for pedestal and crown access.
  • Check the weather and dress accordingly, as it can be windy and chilly on the ferry and the island.
  • Arrive early and allow enough time for security screening, boarding the ferry and exploring the island.
  • Bring water, snacks, sunscreen, hat and comfortable shoes, as there are limited facilities on the island.
  • Respect the rules of the park, like staying on designated paths, not climbing on the statue or its base and not bringing prohibited items such as weapons, large bags or drones.

Summer as you imagine is the busiest time of the year. With July and August, the most busy. June is a good month with less crowds and nice weather.

Weekdays are always less crowded than weekends, regardless of the season or the weather. If you can, try to avoid holidays and school breaks, as they tend to attract more visitors.

How Long To Spend at the Statue of Liberty

the tour guy statue of liberty tour

Short Answer : 3 to 4 hours

When you purchase a ticket to see the Statue of Liberty, you’re actually buying three items: A ferry ride, Statue of Liberty Access, and Access to the Ellis Island Museum. Be sure to keep that in mind.

The Ferry Ride

You’ll start your adventure at either Battery Park in NYC or Liberty State Park across the bay in New Jersey. The ferry works like a hop-on, hop-off bus with stops at Liberty Island (where the Statue of Liberty is) and Ellis Island before returning to the port.

It takes around 15-20 minutes to arrive at each destination. So, there’s just enough time to enjoy some sea views without it being too long.

Liberty Island

Once you arrive at Liberty Island, it’s about a 10-minute walk to the Statue of Liberty. Depending on the ticket you have (see above), you’ll either just walk around the island or climb up the statue itself.

I last visited the area in May of 2021 and I’d say if you are not climbing up, give yourself about 2 hours. Why so long? You’ll want to enjoy the views from the various vantage points.

There’s also a cool little museum to visit where you can see the original torch that Lady Liberty held. There’s an audioguide included in the ticket, but you know how that goes…listen for 5 minutes before you put it in your pocket. We recommend taking a guided tour of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, which will make your time more memorable and definitely elevate your experience.

Ellis Island

If you’re thinking of skipping this section and just heading back to the city, I strongly urge you to reconsider. When I arrived at Ellis Island, I was very unprepared for the emotional aspect of the visit. My only exposure to the area previously was from the film “The Godfather”. I honestly found Ellis Island to be just as compelling as the Statue of Liberty!

Considering the size of the museum I would allocate 1.5 hours for your visit. The main area you’ll be visiting is all in one building, but it is quite big and it’s on two floors. You will learn all about the influx of immigrants from all over the world (mostly European) who came in search of a better life in America.

How To Get To the Statue of Liberty

Traveling to the Statue of Liberty is pretty simple, you’ll be departing from one of the ferry points located either in Battery Park or Liberty State Park. Before you leave, you should plan your journey to these locations. This way, you’ll be sure to get to Liberty Island early and avoid any unnecessary travel complications or stress along the way.

Battery Park

Battery Park is in Manhattan, at the southern tip of the city. It’s surrounded by the New York Harbor and the Hudson River. You can get there on the subway, bus, or train, and they’re super easy to access from different points around the city and even out of state.

If you head to the MTA website, you can set the destination as Battery Park and add your current location for a display of the best route as well as how to purchase transport tickets (they can be purchased online or at the station kiosks). For a point of reference, from Times Square in New York City, you can take the train southbound from Times Square Station (1, 2, or 3) to the South Ferry Stop. From there, it’s a quick 5-minute walk to Battery Park.

The bus is another good option. From near Times Square, you can take the bus from the 5 Av/W 41 St. Stop to the South Ferry stop as well. The MTA website also provides a detailed schedule of bus routes and times from several different points around the city.

Liberty State Park

Liberty State Park is the other popular point of departure for the ferry that arrives at Liberty Island. This park is located in Jersey City, New Jersey, and similar to Battery Park in NYC, it’s easily accessible via public transport that’s provided throughout the state of New Jersey. Newark Penn Station is one of the most frequently used stations in the state and if you leave from there, you’ll have a relatively simple journey to the destination.

As suggested on the Liberty State Park Website, take the PATH subway to the Exchange Place stop in Jersey City. From there, you’ll take the Light Rail to Liberty State Park, followed by a short trip on the shuttle bus to the ferry slip. In addition to Newark Penn Station, you can also embark from Hoboken Station and Journal Square in Jersey City. If you’re interested in learning about alternative departure points, the New Jersey Transit website is a great resource to plan your route with ease.

Statue of Liberty History

The Statue of Liberty was a gift from France. In 1865, Edouard de Laboulaye, an important French political thinker and supporter of Abraham Lincoln during the American Civil War proposed to create a monument for the United States.

His reasoning was that the victory of the Union in the Civil War reaffirmed the United State’s ideals of freedom and democracy. As a result, honoring the United States would at the same time strengthen the causes for Democracy in France.

Frédéric-Auguste Bartholdi was the man that made it happen. Bartholdi was a famous French sculptor, best known for his work on the Statue of Liberty. He was elected by Edouard de Laboulaye as the sculptor to build a monument that could commemorate the kinship between France and the United States as well as appreciation for President Abraham Lincoln’s work.

Bartholdi previously worked with Laboulaye in the designing of his bust and was excited to work on the project that came to life over the span of a few years. Thus, the Statue of Liberty was born.

How was it built?

The construction of the statue began in France in 1876. Bartholdi enlisted a number of French craftsmen to help in the process of transforming his unique ideas into reality. The various parts of the statue were created separately and then shipped to the United States for assembly in 1885.

Upon visiting New York City, Bartholdi chose Liberty Island as its home because of the high level of visibility, which he described as the “gateway to America.” Most of us can agree that the location was a perfect choice, not only is the statue a signature attraction of the city, it’s a symbol of America and its core ideals.

Once the statue arrived, assembly began very quickly along with the construction of the pedestal upon which it still stands tall today. The process was officially completed in 1886 and celebrated with a large dedication ceremony that was held shortly after. Around a million New Yorkers came out to revel in the unveiling of the statue, a part of a grand history that was yet to fully unfold.

Places To Eat Inside and Nearby

There are limited options to eat when you depart for the Statue of Liberty. If you go in the morning, I suggest eating in the city when you return. A picnic is also a great idea. Here are a few recommendations for places to eat:

On the Ferry: There are snack stands where you can purchase refreshments and healthy snacks

Crown Café : $$ | Quick Snacks —This is the only place on Liberty Island where you can actually get food. You can get burgers, pizzas, and even sushi in this cafeteria-style café.

Ellis Café : $$ | Quick Snacks —Same as the Crown Café, but on Ellis Island.

Have a Picnic : Liberty Island is actually considered a park, so there is lots of open areas. Grab some food from a local gourmet grocery store in New York and have a leisurely lunch in the sun.

Near the Statue of Liberty:

Hotdog Truck: A quick and easy way to eat like the locals. I’ve eaten from them hundreds of times and never gotten sick. You’ll find them all over the place. Go for it!

The Dead Rabbit : $$ | Irish Pub —Great pub food and strong drinks. What else could you ask for after sightseeing all morning long?

Owen was so informative and fun. The best. Our first visit to NYC, and it was such a good choice to do this tour.

Explorer 101

Faqs for visiting the statue of liberty, does this tour include the immigration museum on ellis island.

In the interest of time, our express tour doesn’t include a guided visit to Ellis Island, though you’re welcome to visit on your own, and your ferry ticket will take you there. Our full Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island tour does include visiting Ellis Island with your guide. Since guiding isn’t allowed inside the Ellis Island National Museum of Immigration, your guide will let you know what to look for before you visit on your own. Museum admission is free.

How long is the tour?

The guided portion of our express tour is about 2 hours. You can stay as long as you want after the tour ends at Liberty Island and return to Battery Park when ready. Total time should be about 3 hours, but allow an extra hour if you plan to visit Ellis Island on your own. The full tour takes closer to 5 hours, 4 of these spent with your guide.

How much walking is there?

We’ll be on our feet for most of the tour, and there are some stairs. The ferry ride over has some limited seating, and your guide will lead you on a walking tour of the grounds to point out the different sights. If mobility is an issue, please arrange for a private tour.

Does this include a guided tour inside the Statue of Liberty Museum?

The National Park Service doesn’t allow any guiding inside the Statue of Liberty Museum. Your guide will give you a thorough introduction to the museum so you can explore it on your own and know what to look for.

What is the cancellation and refund policy?

We understand plans change. We offer a 100% refund up to 24 hours prior to your tour start time for this tour.

What is the policy on gratuities?

Tips are always appreciated by our guides but never expected. They should be given if you believe your guide did an outstanding job and if you personally want to demonstrate your appreciation to the guide.

The 12 Best Statue of Liberty Cruises

The 12 Best Statue of Liberty Cruises

There are multiple ways for you to see the Statue of Liberty in New York. Our personal favorite is seeing the Statue of Liberty from the water! That’s why, in this article, we’d like to present the 12 best Statue of Liberty Cruises.

Our Favorite Statue of Liberty Cruises

First of all, let us reiterate that the only way to set foot on Liberty Island is by taking the ferry. This can be done with an appropriate ticket or within a guided tour. Any other Statue of Liberty Cruise will be  cruising around the Statue of Liberty . They may make a stop on the water, but they do not stop at the island . For us, however, cruises around the Statue of Liberty are the perfect way of combining panoramic scenes of Manhattan’s skyline with a close view of the Statue of Liberty. If you do want to visit the island, be sure to be informed about all the different ticket types in advance.

There are also a bunch of private tours that are offered to explore the Statue of Liberty. Even though the reviews are excellent, we do not believe a private tour is necessary. A guided tour in a small group is just as good and much more affordable.

Should you want to climb all the way to the top, into the crown of the Statue of Liberty , you would need a different ticket. Those tickets are limited and sell out many weeks in advance, so be sure to secure your tickets.

Best time to visit the Statue of Liberty

People at the Liberty harbor

The best seasons to visit Liberty and Ellis Island are mid-March to June (spring season) and mid-September to December (Fall season). During the other months, it can get windy, making it a not-so-comfortable experience.

The peak season is from May to September, and it gets really crowded. To avoid the crowds, it is best to catch the first ferry, which starts at 8:30 from the mainland and reaches Liberty Island in just 20 minutes.

Alerts in effect, fees & passes, catch a ride to our park, warning: beware third party ticket vendors.

There are many aggressive, unauthorized ticket sellers who will try to sell tickets to the Statue of Liberty near Battery Park in NYC. These individuals will often try to scam people through misrepresentation and over-charging. We highly recommend purchasing tickets in advance. The only on-site location to purchase authorized tickets is the Statue City Cruises official ticket office inside Castle Clinton in The Battery. Plan ahead if possible, and avoid these scammers selling overpriced and/or fake tickets.

Where to Watch the Las Vegas 4th of July Fireworks 2024

T he lights of Las Vegas shine so bright that it’s the only city in the United States that astronauts can see from space. But when you add in a 4th of July fireworks extravaganza that blankets the entire valley, the destination might just be the brightest city on earth this holiday.

Aside from the spectacular fireworks, there are a few other stand-out reasons why Las Vegas is a great destination for a quick and easy getaway this 4th of July. The city’s world-class shows , concerts, nightclubs, restaurants , and pool parties will be in full swing on the 4th of July, meaning your odds of finding something to do before and after the fireworks are very good. There’s also little to no chance of rain and with more than 150,000 hotel rooms, booking a place to stay is a cinch.

And if you’re wanting to be by the beach, you can do that in Las Vegas too—if you stay at the Mandalay Bay and hit up their sprawling pool complex with 2,700 tons of sand and an actual wave pool. Best of all you can wave an American flag at the Statue of Liberty—the smaller replica that stands in front of the New York, New York Hotel & Casino . However you want to do Vegas this 4th of July, just remember to step outside at 9pm to watch the fireworks light up the sky.

Here’s the full list of where to watch the fireworks throughout Las Vegas:

The Las Vegas Strip

Caesars Palace is keeping its annual tradition as the only fireworks show on the Las Vegas Strip. As ever, the show will start at 8:30 p.m., and fireworks will begin at 9 p.m. from the hotel’s Julius Tower.

Though the fireworks can be seen from almost anywhere outside on the Strip, Caesars Entertainment has curated a few choice locations so you can elevate your view of the show. The resort’s Venus Pool + Lounge is offering a “Night Swim” event from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. where guests can watch the fireworks from reserved pool loungers and cabanas. Across the street at The Cromwell , guests can reserve a a table on the outdoor patio at GIADA restaurant, or go to Drai’s Beachclub , a pool scene turned after-dark hotspot, which will keep the party going after the fireworks show with a special musical set from Wacka Flacka. At the nearby Linq Hotel, another option is to head up to RE:Match Bar , which has an outdoor lounge directly over The Strip.

A more thrilling option for some is to book a ticket during the fireworks show at the High Roller Observation Wheel , which is the largest of its kind in North America and rises 500 feet above Las Vegas.

If you prefer a more low-key viewing pleasure, spend a little extra on a hotel room with a view of the Strip to watch the show from the comfort of your bed.

Downtown Las Vegas

The Plaza Hotel and Casino is the place to be in downtown Las Vegas for 4th of July fireworks. About fifteen minutes away from Caesars, The Plaza is the host of the only fireworks show downtown, kicking off at 9 p.m. Daybeds and cabanas at the pool are available to rent for a special fireworks viewing party, or guests can nab a table on the outdoor patio at the hotel’s Carousel Bar. If you can’t make it for the actual 4th of July, The Plaza is planning on doing an encore fireworks show on July 5 at 9:15 p.m. as part of their Summer Friday fireworks series.

Over at the Legacy Club at the Circa Resort & Casino , the rooftop cocktail lounge will be hosting a Star-Spangled Glamour celebration where you can take in the fireworks from its swanky perch on the 60th floor. Tickets start at $150 per person with premium table packages available.

Off the strip

Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa in Summerlin will host its annual fireworks viewing party at its Sandbar pool area on July 4. While there’s no cost to view the fireworks from other places on property, the viewing party is $10 for guests 2 to 11 years of age and $35 for guests 12 and up. Admission includes light-up necklaces and tickets can be purchased from the resort’s gift shop. Hotel guests will get four complimentary wristbands if they book a room. The viewing party opens at 7:30 p.m., with fireworks going off at 9 p.m.

Over in Henderson, Green Valley Ranch Resort Spa & Casino , a sister property to the Red Rock, will also host a fireworks viewing party for its fireworks show on July 4. Tickets to watch the show from the resort’s main pool, amphitheater, pond, and terrace are $10 for guests 2 to 11 years of age and $35 for guests 12 and up—the same as at the Red Rock. Similarly, admission includes light-up necklaces and tickets can be purchased from the resort’s gift shop. The schedule is the same too: The viewing party opens at 7:30 p.m., and fireworks commence at 9 p.m.

The M Resort in Henderson, about 25 minutes from the Strip, will have a 15-minute fireworks celebration at its M Pool Deck on July 4 at 9 p.m. Tickets are being offered for a premium viewing experience, starting at $10 for children age 10 and under and $30 for adults. Live music from Cover Lane, an acoustic duo featuring Lynnae Meyers and the Las Vegas Knights anthem singer, Carnell Johnson, will kick off the celebration at 7:45 p.m.

Lake Las Vegas , located about 45 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip, will have its own community fireworks show over the 320-acre lake at 9 p.m. on July 4. Guests of the Westin Lake Las Vegas and Hilton Lake Las Vegas resorts will have prime views of the show, but it’s free for everyone to watch. Want to add a little adventure before the show? Book an evening kayak tour on the lake that ends just before the fireworks begin.
