Discover the collections of the Palace of Versailles through the new English version of the website. Containing over 60,000 works, the collections of the Palace of Versailles span a very broad period. The collections reflect the dual identity of the Palace, as both a palace occupied by the kings of France and the royal court, and later a museum “dedicated to the glories of France,” inaugurated by Louis-Philippe in 1837.

The Palace of Versailles and the Saint-Louis glassworks teamed up to offer a new “Galerie des reines” set of four crystal flutes. Sold exclusively by subscription until September 15, 2024, to benefit the restoration of the Versailles Estate.

Restoration of Apollo’s fountain

Apollo’s fountain is now in major need of restoration. The gilded lead parts of Apollo on his chariot need to regain their lustre. Starting in December 2022, the sculpted group will be dismantled, lifted out by crane and taken to a workshop for substantial restoration.

Where to Find Paris Tourist Information Offices?

And How to Make The Most of Their Resources

Many people feel comfortable navigating a new city using only their wits (and maybe their smartphones). But for other visitors, finding a good tourist information center and seeking some advice from local experts is key to feeling informed and relaxed.

Paris has several tourist "welcome centers" dotted around the city, where you can get free advice and maps, buy special discount cards and passes, and find most other info related to your stay. Here are the main ones you should look out for. We suggest noting down which is closest to your hotel or apartment, and making your way there early on in your stay. 

Armed with plenty of information and advice, including on tours, top attractions and special events, you'll be more likely to enjoy your sojourn to the fullest.

President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. will travel to Normandy and Paris, France, from June 5-9.  On June 6, the President will deliver remarks and participate in engagements with First Lady Jill Biden to commemorate the 80 th  anniversary of the Allied landings in Normandy, which paved the way for the liberation of France and Europe. 73,000 brave Americans landed at Utah and Omaha beaches in Normandy on June 6, 1944 and the President will greet American veterans and their family members while in France to honor their sacrifice. On June 7, the President will deliver remarks at Pointe du Hoc, France about the importance of defending freedom and democracy. Then in Paris on June 8, President Emmanuel Macron of France and Mrs. Brigitte Macron will host President Biden and Dr. Biden for a State Visit. The State Visit will reflect the enduring and comprehensive relationship between the United States and France, our oldest ally, founded on shared democratic values, economic ties, and defense and security cooperation. President Biden and President Macron will have the opportunity to discuss a wide range of global challenges and bilateral issues.
