Lauryn Hill postpones her Phoenix concert. Here's what to do if you have tickets

The downtown Phoenix date on a tour celebrating the 25th anniversary of "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill" has been postponed.

Ms. Lauryn Hill was scheduled to play Footprint Center on Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023.

A note on the Ticketmaster website says "the Event Organizer has had to postpone your event."

No new date has been announced.

As of Tuesday morning, Hill hadn't posted anything about the Footprint Center concert, but she did share posts on X, formerly Twitter, when she postponed recent dates in Philadelphia and Texas, saying doctors had advised her to reschedule those performances to prevent potential damage to her vocal cords.

Hill and her diamond-certified album, entered into the Library of Congress in 2015, achieved numerous firsts: the first hip-hop album to win an Album of the Year Grammy, the first woman to be nominated for 10 Grammys in one year and the first woman to win five Grammys in one night.

Ticketholders are advised to hold onto their tickets as they will be valid for the new date.

The Ticketmaster website says, "You can locate your tickets by signing in to your online account. If your event is eligible for a refund or credit, those options will be visible within the Event Details of your order."

Neo soul icon Ms. Lauryn Hill has announced another batch of U.S. tour dates with the Fugees later in 2024 celebrating the 25th anniversary of her record-setting album 'The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill' . The new 18-city journey kicks off August 9th in Tampa and extends into September making additional stops in Atlanta, Philadelphia, Cincinnati, Tinley Park, Dallas, Los Angeles and Wantagh. Joining the tour in support will be special guest YG Marley.

Hill's first and only solo album 'The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill' was released back in 1998 and includes the singles 'Doo Wop (That Thing)' and 'Everything Is Everything' which were both certified Gold by the RIAA. The album received numerous accolades and broke several sales records while being listed by Rolling Stone as one of the greatest albums of all time. The legendary singer celebrated the album's 20th anniversary in 2018 and 2019 during an extensive tour across North America. The prior year, she joined forces with Nas for a major co-headlining tour along with support from Chronixx and Hannibal Buress .

Ms. Lauryn Hill and the Fugees have extended their “Miseducation Anniversary Tour” with a 21-date run slated to launch in August.

The new North American leg will kick off Aug. 9 in Tampa, Florida, at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre and run through Sept. 21 at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey. The shows will feature co-headlining sets from Hill and the Fugees as they perform tracks from The Miseducation of Ms. Lauryn Hill , The Score , and more. YG Marley will provide support throughout the run.

Tickets for all shows will go on sale June 28 at 10 a.m. local time, while a pre-sale will open to Citi cardholders starting tomorrow, June 25. Full info is available via Live Nation .

Hill has since returned to the road this year, playing a handful of shows in the Middle East, as well as Jamaica, Europe, Canada, and Las Vegas, In May, she and YG Marley performed on The Tonight Show , and the pair are set to take the stage again together at the BET Awards on June 30.

Ms. Lauryn Hill has announced a new run of tour dates with Fugees after canceling several shows in November due to vocal strain. The shows, billed once again as a 25th anniversary tour of The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill , kick off in Tampa, Florida, in August and wrap in Europe in October. Check out the itinerary below.

Upon canceling the original dates, Hill said she had “been battling serious vocal strain for the past month,” adding that to continue would not be “safe or sustainable.” The dates, billed as a co-headline, will also show some anniversary love to Fugees’ The Score .

Lauryn Hill and The Fugees re-set anniversary tour; here are all the dates

S AN DIEGO — Will the second time be the charm for Lauryn Hill and The Fugees, whose 2023 “The Miseducation Anniversary Tour” was cut short because of what she described at the time as “serious vocal strain?”

On Monday, Hill and The Fugees announced their 2024 “The Celebration Continues Tour.” It will include a Sept. 15 San Diego concert at North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre that will be bookended by a Sept. 13 show in Mountain View at Shoreline Amphitheatre and a Sept. 17 show in Los Angeles at the Hollywood Bowl.

The 2024 tour is a combination of dates that were rescheduled from last year and newly announced performances. The 2023 tour has been timed to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the release of Hill’s 1998 debut solo album, “The Miseducation of Ms. Lauryn Hill,” which sold more than 10 million copies in the U.S. alone and made Hill the first hip-hop artist in Grammy Awards’ history to win Album Of The Year honors.

The new tour is being co-headlined by The Fugees, the New Jersey hip-hop, funk and reggae trio that was formed in 1990 by Hill, now 49, Wyclef Jean, now 54, and Pras Michel, now 51. The Grammy-winning group’s members initially parted ways in 1996 to work on solo projects. A number of mostly fleeting reunions followed.

The opening act for this year’s tour will be Hill’s son, YG Marley. An announcement of “special guests” is pending.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. local time Friday at livenation.com and ticketmaster.com

A pre-sale for Citi card holders will begin Tuesday at 10 a.m. local time through the Citi Entertainment program. Three other pre-sales will follow: an artist pre-sale Wednesday at 10 a.m. local time; a Live Nation/Ticketmaster pre-sale Thursday at 10 a.m. local time; and a venue and Spotify pre-sale Thursday at 10 a.m. local time.

Ticket prices for the San Diego concert range from $39.50 to $199.50, plus service fees. Two dollars from each ticket sold will go to the MLH Fund, which will benefit various local and worldwide organizations benefiting initiatives concerning mental health, women’s wellness, community small business development, education and more

Five-time Grammy winner Lauryn Hill has announced a 25th anniversary tour for her iconic debut solo album, 1998’s “Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.” Hill’s former group the Fugees, who abruptly canceled a planned 25th anniversary tour around their multiplatinum album “The Score“ album last year, will open only the U.S. dates, presumably because of member Pras Michel’s legal challenges stemming from his recent conviction on international conspiracy charges.

With its pioneering fusion of R&B, hip-hop and pop, “Miseducation” was one of the most influential albums of the 1990s. Entered into the Library of Congress in 2015, it was the first hip-hop album to receive an album of the year Grammy Award, and made Hill the first woman to be nominated for 10 Grammy awards in one year and the first woman to win five Grammys in one night. However, she has only released one album since then — an “MTV Unplugged” concert recorded in 2001 — although she has toured frequently.  

“I loved music, I loved people, I truly felt grateful to God for my life, and genuinely blessed to have a platform where I could share wisdom and perspective through music,” she continues. “I felt a charge to challenge the idea that certain kinds of expression and/or certain kinds of people didn’t belong in certain places. I loved showing what could work or happen provided there was imagination, creativity and LOVE leading the way.”

Ms. Lauryn Hill is hitting the road, and this time she’s bringing along some very special guests — the Fugees . In honor of the 25-year anniversary of her landmark album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill , she will be embarking on her first world tour since 2020’s Ms. Lauryn Hill Live in Concert trek, she announced on Tuesday (Aug. 22).

The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill 25th Anniversary Tour kicks off at Mystic Lake in Minneapolis, Minn., on Sept. 8, and closes in Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle on Nov. 9.

Grammy-winning reggae star Koffee will open on her stops in Australia Oct. 3 and Oct. 5. Fugees — the Grammy-winning, genre-bending musical collective of which Hill is a part along with Wyclef Jean and Pras — will reunite for their first tour in years to co-headline all U.S. and Canadian dates. ( Pras was convicted in April in his political conspiracy case, and could face up to 20 years in prison . The announcement did not address whether the rapper will join the tour.)

Over the past few months, Ms. Lauryn Hill has made a number of appearances at performances across the United States to celebrate the album’s anniversary. At Hip-Hop 50 Live at Yankee Stadium in The Bronx, N.Y., Hill surprised attendees as a guest during Nas’ set. She wore a hot pink blazer and staggeringly high stilettos as she tore through a medley of her biggest solo and Fugees hits. In June, Hill headlined the Roots Picnic festival, reuniting with the Fugees for the first time since 2021.

‘the celebration continues tour’ spans 21 new dates..

Ms. Lauryn Hill isn’t done celebrating the 25th anniversary of The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill quite yet. The celebration continues on the extension of her The Miseducation Anniversary Tour – aptly billed The Celebration Continues Tour – in which she and The Fugees will perform the album in a handful of cities throughout North America and abroad.

The Fugees’ The Score album will also be performed and YG Marley is slated to join as support. Per the concert poster, more special guests will be announced.

Lauryn Hill and The Fugees announced a tour to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Hill's solo album, "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill," with a stop at the Hollywood Bowl on Sept. 17.

The 21-date tour includes shows all over the U.S. and international shows in major European cities. Two other dates will be in California, with shows in Mountain View and Chula Vista on Sept. 13 and 15.

Ticket pre-sales begin on Tuesday and general sales launch on Friday .

Fans can purchase VIP packages for opportunities to take photos with the artists and exclusive merchandise.

With every ticket sale, $2 will be donated to the Ms. Lauryn Hill Foundation to support organizations benefiting a range of causes, from “mental health, women’s wellness, community small business development, education, and more throughout the diaspora,” according to a Live Nation press release.

"The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill" was released in 1998 as Hill's first solo album. The tour will not only mark the album’s 25th anniversary but also the reuniting of Hill with hip hop trio The Fugees, which she was a member of before launching her solo career. The trio disbanded in 1997 due to internal conflicts and has recently been making efforts to perform together.

ATLANTA - 5-time Grammy winner and iconic figure in hip hop, R&B, and fashion, Ms. Lauryn Hill, is set to reunite with The Fugees for an extended leg of The Miseducation Anniversary Tour. This tour celebrates her landmark album, recently named the best album of all time by Apple Music. Fans can expect performances from "The Miseducation of Ms. Lauryn Hill," "The Score," and more.

The tour will cover 21 dates, with a notable stop at the Lakewood Amphitheatre in Atlanta on Aug. 16. YG Marley will join as a supporting act, and The Fugees will co-headline all dates.

Ticket Sales Information:

Presales: Begin Tuesday, June 25, starting with a Citi presale. Citi cardmembers can access presale tickets through the Citi Entertainment program. Details can be found at Citi Entertainment .

General Onsale: Starts Friday, June 28 at 10 AM via LiveNation .
