Because I need to travel with a carer…

Because I need to travel with a carer and a wheelchair. We tried to arrange a flight online , but found it impossible, with additional needs . So went into Hays in Jarrow . Layla was friendly and helpful and got us sorted quickly and efficiently. We feel relieved that all will go well with our flight . It would have been helpful to be able to book one return flight and one ... one way flight as I needed an escort to fly ,and I was staying longer .

Bought £1000 of South African Rand. Best rate I could find. Process was very easy. Made the order and received a phone call the next day to arrange collection from the Tavistock branch. A very easy process and lovely, helpful staff as well.

I was called to remind me to pick the money up . I advised I will be in 1230ish and told that would be fine although not told you shut for lunch. I arrived and questioned why I was entering the shop. I explained but the woman on the door said they were closing for lunch and it would be a 15 min wait, she clearly wanted me to come back later but I saw there was only two queuing so waited. I waited approx 6-7 mins and the lady serving me was pleasant. However the other woman was not welcoming. Quite why you shut the shop for lunch when there were 4 staff working is beyond me, rather antiquated thinking to my mind. I’ll go elsewhere in future

I'll start by saying that it's always a pleasure to call in to Hays Travel shops- we get great service, with a smile !

On this occasion we called in to White Rose to buy some euros, being attracted by the great exchange rate on offer. Made the mistake of not spotting the very very small print showing that the rate in question was subject to a minimum purchase of £750 worth and thus bought only £600 worth and got a much lower rate.

However, upon realising our error and making a same day return trip, the member of staff on the exchange desk was really really helpful and made the necessary adjustments to enable us to obtain the higher rate, after adding to our original purchase.

So - a big THANK YOU for sorting this out for us, but can I make a plea that you make it more clear on the poster that the higher rates are subject to a minimum purchase- especially helpful for those people with less than perfect eyesight. Thanks

Great Service As Always

Hays Travel in Harrow, and Amanda in particular, have looked after our holiday arrangements for over a year now (four trips in total) - always 100% friendly and reliable. Even when we recently had a flight cancelled at the last minute, they went out of their way to sort everything out for us. Wouldn't use anyone else now.

Amanda and Tricia were very helpful and professional. Initially, I saw Tricia and she found me a holiday which was good value for money. It’s always a pleasure to walk into to our local Hays Travel branch in Harrow, to either make an enquiry, or book a holiday..Amanda, who we always deal with, makes us feel so comfortable with warm welcome, and her immense knowledge about the travel industry, that we have rarely left the office without booking our next holiday. She makes great efforts to always find good deal as per our requirements. As it happens, we have a holiday to Santorini, and two Cruises lined up in the next four months, all because of finding us great deals. We decided to go Canadian rocky and Alaska , two weeks walked into Hays travel Harrow and spoke to George. He put the itinerary together and with few changes we have booked this trip. It had been a long time since I used a travel agent to book our holiday abroad but George did not disappoint me and made the experience personal and very relaxing. He found us the type of resort we were looking for and before I knew it he had booked the hotel, flights and transfers. I will not wait so long before booking with an independent agent again.

The advice was exceptionel helpful suggestions nothing was too much trouble but i think you definately need internet within the store needed to go outside around the back to get any signal Amanda did her best which was brilliant internet a bit painful.
