While the new version of Top Gear continues to struggle to win over fans of the show’s previous incarnation, the three departed hosts of the old Top Gear are slowly building up the anticipation for their new show, aptly called “The Grand Tour.” We’ve waited long enough to see the return of Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond into our lives and while the first season is still months away from airing, Jezza did give us something to chew on when he revealed on his Twitter page…the official logo of the show.

Wait, the logo? Yes, the logo.

Granted, it’s not much of a reveal because I half-expected something akin to a new trailer. But it can be considered a milestone for the trio, especially after they spent so much time and money just thinking of a name for the show. Having the logo revealed soon after the name was announced is a sign that things are progressing well enough over there at Amazonland for the three gents. The logo itself is eye-catching, for a lack of a better description. There’s a retro look to it, something that many fans of the old Top Gear would appreciate. The big, bold “GT” letters is also a nice reverse play on the title of their told show. But other than that, there’s not a lot to decipher with the logo that could give us any hints of what’s to come in the coming season.

On the other hand, the timing of the logo’s reveal is unlikely to be a coincidence. Even the words that came with the logo had plenty of sub context to it. "Newspapers. As there is very little going on at the moment, I thought you'd like to see our new Grand Tour logo," Clarkson wrote. It seems like he’s either throwing some shade on the dominant headlines surrounding “Brexit” or he’s just mocking the seemingly endless run of controversies engulfing his old show.

Knowing Clarkson, is there any doubt what he’s alluding to? We miss you, Jezza. That goes for the both of you too, Captain Slow and Hamster.

Why it matters

When you look at the struggles Top Gear is experiencing these days, you have to wonder if Clarkson, May, and Hammond are giggling amongst themselves knowing that they were the driving forces that made Top Gear so successful. That thought has entered my mind a couple of times and the more I think about it, the more I realize the BBC is doing its former employees a huge favor by heightening the anticipation for Top Gear considering how bad Top Gear has been with Chris Evans at the helm.

How is this related to the unveiling of Top Gear logo? Well, it’s only been a day since Clarkson tweeted it and it’s been shared over 7,000 times and liked over 22,000 times on Twitter. Look at the same numbers on Facebook and the post that contained the logo revealed has been shared over 5,600 times and liked over 37,000 times. These numbers paint a clear picture: a lot of people are waiting and looking forward to the show’s debut in a few months. And if Top Gear continues its incredible decline, the interest in Top Gear will continue to soar.

That’s why, I think, Clarkson timed this tweet perfectly, right in the middle of all these swirling controversies surrounding Top Gear The BBC show has been engulfed with so many negative news items over the past few weeks and here comes Jeremy Clarkson with another salvo, touting the new logo of his new show with his old pals. It’s a coy move to indirectly add more salt into the wounds of Top Gear

For what it’s worth, I love it! At the very least, it shows that Clarkson’s masterful egging abilities haven’t waned one bit. Let the competition begin!

The Grand Tour Logo Looks So Perfectly Fresh For 1987

You probably heard that BBC Top Gear exiles Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May have relocated to Amazon.com where they’ll host another car show called The Grand Tour. Now they’ve got themselves a logo that looks like it’s right off the back of your Mitsubishi Starion.

The logo leaked Monday on Reddit via a European trademark registration . Instead of trying to swim upstream against the churn of the rumormill, Amazon went ahead and confirmed/released the graphics.

Right, well, that saves us the bother of thinking up a clever way to unveil our new show’s logo: It has leaked. Not in the way my Landie leaks oil or James May leaks if he laughs or goes on a trampoline, I mean leaks as in the secret is out. Serves us right for trying to secure a European trademark. All things European proving a little tricky this week.

That confirms the logo some of you saw yesterday is legit. And that British people just can’t start a statement without “right.” (What’s up with that?)

Anyway I dig the aesthetic they’re running with. Very “ /////TURBO. ” Like a sticker that’d be on the fenders of some gloriously obsolete, well, grand touring car.

Not sure what’s to become of the duct-tape graphic Amazon had been running with earlier. That might have just been a placeholder.

Jeremy Clarkson has revealed why it’s the end of the road for The Grand Tour . Clarkson said he and co-hosts, James May and Richard Hammond, decided to quit the Amazon Prime Video show after running out of steam.

In an interview with The Times of London , Clarkson said it was becoming increasingly difficult to conjure up outlandish adventures for the show and that the presenters were all showing their age.

He added that The Grand Tour missions are “immensely physical” and had become increasingly difficult when “you’re unfit and fat and old.” “If you’re Bear Grylls you go to a hotel — there aren’t any hotels in the Sahara desert,” Clarkson said.

Clarkson, Hammond, and May confirmed last November that they had filmed their final installments of  The Grand Tour . Two final episodes of the motoring series were recorded in Mauritania and Zimbabwe and will premiere on Amazon Prime Video.

Fozia Khan, Amazon Studios’ head of unscripted in the UK, said the brand could survive with another set of presenters. “It’s come to its natural end,” she said, adding that her team was “thinking about” how the show can live on.

Clarkson will continue to host Clarkson’s Farm for Amazon after the series has become the streamer’s highest-rated UK original. Filming on Season 4 is set to begin this year. Clarkson is also hosting more Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? for ITV.

The Times interviewer Ed Potton wrote that he was told not to ask Clarkson about his reviled The Sun newspaper column about Meghan Markle. Clarkson wrote that he imagines the day Markle is paraded “naked through the streets of every town in Britain while the crowds chant, ‘Shame!’ and throw lumps of excrement at her.” The piece was retracted and Amazon made clear its fury at the article.

Asked if he feels under pressure to be controversial, Clarkson said: “No! I like being controversial. Some people who see a still pond find that peaceful, but I cannot resist throwing a stone in it.”

We present to you the virtual tour, which have been shooting over the most famous sights of Moscow. Also we created a brief summary "Moscow, the best" , which contains 22 panoramas of the most interesting places of the city. For today "Grand tour of Moscow, Russia" is our largest project, it includes 107 panoramas.

As surprising as it may be, but Moscow, one of the most famous cities in the world, attracts only 5 million tourists a year.

Here are some numbers for comparison: Paris sees 29 million tourists a year, Berlin — 10 million tourists a year.

However, the reasons for such low interest in Moscow lies only in technical complexities of organizing the trip to Russia: there are numerous difficulties in getting visa and mysterious Russian weather often frightens sun-loving and demanding travelers. But those who do make it to the capital of Russia don't get disappointed. Moscow is Europe's largest metropolis with unforgettable atmosphere and unique historical monuments that reflect the history of Russia.

According to the legend Moscow is situated on seven hills. The Kremlin, a settlement around which the modern capital of Russia grew, is situated on one of those hills — the Borovitsky Hill. The first mention of Moscow dates back to year 1147, and since then, for almost nine centuries, the city experienced a myriad of events, and it has been destroyed and rebuilt over and over again.

The main attraction of Moscow, the famous Moscow Kremlin, was originally built from wood, but in the 14th century, after being destroyed again, it was rebuilt from a local white stone. It was from that moment on that Moscow was referred to as "Moscow of white stone" ("Moskva belokamennaya"). The walls of the Kremlin were whitewashed long after white stone was replaced with burnt bricks: it was done in the memory of "Moscow of white stone", referring to the glorious part of the city's past.

At the beginning of the 16th century "the seven hills settlement" became the capital of the united Russian state, which gave stimulus to its economic and cultural growth. But while all towers and temples in Moscow were built of stone, the city fire destroyed almost all other old houses in 1812, and Moscow had to be rebuilt all over again.

Burned buildings were replaced with new ones, mostly in classical style: it's those buildings, as well as the modern style ones that were built in the end of the 19th century, that are now comprise what is called "the old Moscow".

Architecture of the Soviet period has also left a great impact on the face of the city. The Shukhov Tower became one of the first notable sights of Moscow: a hyperboloid structure made from steel mesh shell was very innovative and bold for 1920s. Another notable landmark of the last century is the All-Russian Exhibition Center, one of the 50 largest exhibition centers in the world.

And the most famous buildings are the "Stalinist skyscrapers" — seven high-rise buildings built from the late 1940s to early 1950s. Despite the fact that the idea was taken from American skyscrapers, architects were able to create original architectural solutions, which were later called "Stalin's empire style" or "Soviet monumental classicism". Nowadays these high-rise buildings are considered to be the pinnacle of the post-war Soviet Art Deco style and the most important landmarks that end up on every photo of Moscow.

Three of the seven high-rise buildings are located near the famous Garden Ring. It's a circular avenue with circumference of 15.6 kilometers and a width of 70 meters built (paved with asphalt) on top of ancient earth mounds that were used to defend Moscow in the 16th century.

There were more than 130 rivers in Moscow, but now most of them are backfilled. However, the city can offer you very beautiful views of the water: the famous Moskva River, and the smaller Yauza River, Setun River, Shodnya River, Gorodnia River, and many others.

Bridges, just like Moscow's buildings, are unique monuments of Moscow. For example, the Crimean Bridge built in 1938 was the first of the six European bridges that is 168 meters in length. There is also the famous Borodinsky Bridge built to commemorate the Battle of Borodino. Among the most interesting modern bridges is Zhivopisny Bridge in Serebryany Bor, which has no analogues in the world. Its pylon has a form of a huge arch structure spanning from one river bank to the other at acute angle.

In 1990s the Victory Park was opened on Poklonnaya Hill to commemorate the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945). The park consists of several churches of different denominations, museums, monuments, a huge collection of military equipment, and 1418 fountains (1418 refers to number of days the war continued), which turn dark crimson during the night.

Even the shortest list of all historical landmarks and sights in Moscow will take more than one page. Moscow is a huge metropolitan city spread over an area of 2,500 square kilometers. It has numerous river and parks, narrow streets and big highways, cozy homes in classical style and cold skyscrapers. Each period gave Moscow something new: in 1940s the city was surrounded by a ring road (MKAD), in 1950s the capital saw the opening of the Olympic complex Luzhniki, in 1960s Ostankino TV tower was built in Moscow, in 1990s the largest business center called Moscow-City was built.

Moscow is the case where you just can't describe everything, and as they say, "A picture is worth a thousand words". Moscow really is a spectacular, cultured city with charming, hospitable people who are justifiably very proud of their city. My husband and I had the great pleasure of visiting Russia and the Baltic States a couple of years ago. It was an unforgettable experience - we travelled throughout Petersburg, Moscow and around the gorgeous historical cities along The Golden Ring in a private car. Loved every minute of it! By the way, I absolutely LOVE the music you have chosen as a background to this beautiful panorama - it is a lovely piece (even though it has a rather Italian flavour to it).
