Posted on March 22, 2018 February 23, 2024|
With Proceeds Benefiting FARFA
The 9th annual East Austin Urban Farm Tour is set for Sunday, April 15. Don’t miss this “sip, eat, and stroll event” that takes place on four working urban farms: Boggy Creek Farm , Hausbar Farms , Rain Lily Farm , and Springdale Farm .
Tickets sell-out quickly, so order yours now !
All four farms, which are within walking/biking distance of each other, will offer chances to get to know the farmers and their animals plus learn how they grow healthy foods for the Austin community. And each farm will feature bites and sips of delicious samplings from local chefs, mixologists, brewers, and wine merchants.
Proceeds from ticket sales are donated to Farm & Ranch Freedom Alliance so we can continue our work to advocate for small-scale farmers and ranchers.
This year’s East Austin Farm Tour is presented by Farmhouse Delivery .

Farming Our Backyard
East side farms open their doors — and fields — for the east austin urban farm tour.
Living in Austin, we can enjoy farm life without ever leaving the city limits. On Sunday, April 13, four vibrant farms in the heart of the city will play host to the annual East Austin Urban Farm Tour .
Boggy Creek Farm, HausBar Farms, Rain Lily Farm and Springdale Farm, located within easy walking distance of each other in the Govalle neighborhood, will lead guided tours of the farms, all while sharing their experiences and wisdom. Guests can stroll the fields, sample food, meet the animals and pepper the farmers with questions about successful growing techniques to use at home.
“This is our way to spread the word about urban farms, educate the public and showcase the work that we do,” said Paula Foore of Springdale Farm. “We like to think it’s all about the tour, but we know people are also coming to taste the amazing food from the talented chefs we work with during the tour and all year long.”
“This is our way to spread the word about urban farms, educate the public and showcase the work that we do,” said Paula Foore of Springdale Farm.
Each farm will offer tasty samples from several restaurants, food artisans and beverage vendors. Popular restaurants Bufalina, Café Josie, Driskill Grill, Eden East, Fabi + Rosi, Fresa’s Chicken al Carbon, Hillside Farmacy, Jeffrey’s, Josephine House, Kome Sushi Kitchen, Lenoir, Olive & June, Qui and Wink will serve small bites made with farm-fresh products.
Not to be outdone, local breweries, distilleries and wine shops including Live Oak Brewing, Hops & Grain, Dripping Springs Vodka, Treaty Oak Distilling Company and The Vineyard at Florence will also be on hand with samples of their libations.
Proceeds from the tour benefit the Farm and Ranch Freedom Alliance, a national organization that supports independent family farmers and protects a healthy and productive food supply for American consumers.
“As farmers, we spend most of our time in the fields and selling our produce. We don’t have much time and availability to get organized politically, and FARFA serves as our voice on important issues,” says Foore.
The East Austin Urban Tour is a rain or shine event, and purchasing tickets in advance is highly recommended, especially considering the tour has sold out the last two years.

While Memorial Day weekend always feels like the first big celebration of summer, one East Austin bar is keeping the party going. On Wednesday, May 29, Dainty Dillo will host a dog party in celebration of National Pet Month.
Taking over the former Tillery Kitchen and Bar space at 3201 East Cesar Chavez St., Dainty Dillo opened in February 2024 as an offshoot of the popular South Austin concept, Armadillo Den. The expansive patio is a perfect venue for events, and the Dog Day party promises to be a fun time for both human and animal attendees.
Kicking off at 6 pm and ending at 9 pm, the event is a great chance to sample the bar’s locally sourced beer, wine, and cocktails as well as its shareable menu of sandwiches, snacks, and salads.
Meanwhile, furry companions can be pampered by the pet-related vendors on site. Booths include: locally-designed dog hats, bowls, and specialty robes (“WraPups”) from Dogsht; greeting cards, prints, and more dog-patterned stationery from Just Right Dog Design Co; handmade dog treats from the Pawstin Barkery; dog food, daycare, treats, and discounts on spa services from Barkin Creek Dog Kitchen + Bath; and leashes, collars, and clothing from Furever Grateful.
Best of all, guests who don’t already have their own furry companion (or are looking to add to the family) will have a chance to adopt a new furever friend from Rescue PAC , a Central Texas-based canine rescue nonprofit organization.
No tickets are required for the event, and entry is free and open to the public.
