England coach / bus tour reviews.

Greg is an excellent tour guide, knowledgeable, friendly, cheerful and very helpful. As well our driver was the best, kind and helpful.
We had a great trip. Ouf tour guide Chris couldn’t have been mord pleasing, caring and committed to making our trip as enjoyable as possible. He was an excellent driver , very safe and mindful of our comfort. Also we were blessed with the flexibility of thd tour in very wet conditions.
Overall, it was a fantastic experience. There were a couple of small hiccups, nothing is perfect, but our guide and our driver did a fantastic job of making the experience fun and meaningful. The only thing I would flag is that the group size is a bit large - we were 46 - which can sometimes make for slower travel. Otherwise, absolutely wonderful!

Take a fabulous coach tour and enjoy what this truly unique land has to offer. Explore the many historic cities, picturesque villages and coastal towns, and take in the lush green countryside and colourful rambling moors. You could start your tour in London, England’s capital, and spend a few days finding your way around this amazing and iconic city. Don’t forget to explore the many outstanding museums, and book a guided tour to get the most out of them. One of added bonuses of some London museums is the free admission, but donations are welcome. In the evening enjoy a West End Show, or soak up the vibrant atmosphere in the many bars and restaurants.

The Queen is at Home

Not far away from London is Windsor Castle, residence of The Queen and the largest lived in castle in the world. Similar to Buckingham Palace, you get a chance to see the Changing of the Guard at Windsor Castle as well as the tombs of past royalty including Charles I, Henry VIII and one of his wives, Jane Seymour. Further north, a few hours drive away is the city of York which is entrenched in history and must be explored when visiting England. Vikings, Romans and King Richard III, York has seen it all, and continues to be one of Britain’s most popular tourist destinations. Enjoy high tea at the iconic Betty’s or dare to take a ghost walk and guided tour through the medieval Snickelways of York, an array of narrow passageway and hidden alleyways.

Roman Bath Anyone?

Visit the historic city of Bath, famous for its Georgian architecture and natural hot springs. See the extraordinarily Roman Baths and Pump Room, built by the Romans and still beautifully preserved after 2,000 years. Take a guided tour around this exquisite city and be prepared to be amazed. You can’t visit England without a trip to Salisbury Plain to see Stonehenge. This prehistoric monument was first built around 5,000 years ago and has stood the test of time to provide wonder to generations of people. Discover the history and theories about this famous stone circle in the visitor centre and be enchanted by the mystery of the whole place.

Time for a Cream Tea

Devon & Cornwall are also a must see when visiting England. Renowned for tasty pasties and cream teas, the beauty of this area is truly outstanding. Take a coach trip to Land’s End, the most westerly point of Britain, and view the stunning St Michael’s Mount. Not far is the Minack Theatre, an open-air theatre which has been carved into the granite cliff and is quite a sight to behold. The seaside town of St. Ives is also a beautiful place to explore and maybe pick up a piece of art to remember it by. It can be guaranteed that any place you wish to visit in England will be remembered with great fondness for a very long time. For the more adventurous, Cornwall has some of the best surf beaches in the UK and we can arrange a lesson for you.

Has anyone been on this tour, and do they still run?

I cant find much online.

5 replies to this topic

Never heard of it. If you can't find much online, I'd suggest it's no longer in operation.

bus tour england

I believe it was never really a tour on sale to the public, more a publicity stunt by anti-corruption campaigners for journalists.

Just checked with the University and they said that the Kleptocracy bus tour was an event that they (at the Centre for the Study of Corruption) run once a year for students on their Masters programmes in Corruption and Governance.

Thank you for getting back to us.

Anfield stadium in Liverpool, England

Public transport for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in Liverpool: what you need to know

All the info you’ll need to get to the Eras Tour at Anfield Stadium this week

Amy Houghton

It’s officially begun. Taylor Swift has officially touched down in Britain and commenced her UK leg of the Eras Tour. And following an epic three nights in Edinburgh , Liverpool’s up next.

From June 13 to June 15, a total of over 150,000 Swifties will be descending on Anfield Stadium (usually the home of Liverpool Football Club). To avoid missing out on the pre-concert buzz (and Paramore’s supporting set), you’ll need to figure out exactly how you’re getting to the venue.

Make sure to leave with plenty of time to spare, Liverpool is about to get packed. Here’s all the travel details you need to know.

TAYLOR SWIFT'S ERAS TOUR IN LIVERPOOL 💎  The ultimate guide to the Eras Tour in Liverpool . |👚  How to buy official Taylor Swift merch in Liverpool for her Eras Tour . 🏟️  Taylor Swift Anfield Stadium seating map . 🎤  Everything you need to know about Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in the UK .

How to get to Taylor Swift concerts in Liverpool

Bus driver strikes are happening at the same time that Taylor is in town, meaning there’s likely to be some disruption.

Stagecoach will be running the 917 shuttle bus from Commutation Row in the city centre to a pick-up and drop-off point on Arkles Road, next to the stadium. The service will start at 3.30pm each day. You can also hop on the 26 from Liverpool ONE bus station, the 17 from Queen Square Bus Station. Then there’s the 68/168 services between Bootle and Aigburth and the 14 and 19 from Queen Square which all stop a short walk from the ground.

Train

One of the closest train stations to Anfield is Lime Street Railway Station. It’s around two miles from the stadium and there will be a support team there to help you find transport direct to the stadium.

You could also get the train to Sandhills or Kirkdales stations, which are both a 30-minute walk to the venue. If you don’t fancy the walk, there will be a concert bus costing £1.60 for adults and 80p for kids.

There won’t be any public parking available at the stadium itself. Liverpool FC warns that due to crowds and road closures there will be long waiting times for those wanting to use the drop off and pick up point on Utting Avenue.  Drivers will be best off finding parking in the city centre and hopping on a bus from there (find all the bus info above).

Did you see that   Scotland’s best beaches have been crowned for 2024 ?

Electric Buses

Big bus tours adds 40 electric sightseeing buses to its fleet.

Avatar for Michelle Lewis

Global open-top tour bus operator Big Bus Tours has added 40 electric sightseeing buses to its fleet in time for the summer holiday season.

Big Bus Tours is introducing 20 brand-new Ankai electric buses in Paris and Vienna and retrofitting 20 buses in London by converting 20 of the existing diesel fleet to electric.

The new electric tour buses in Paris and Vienna are purpose-built electric sightseeing buses supplied by Ankai Anhui. The buses have 315 kW battery packs, sending power to the road through a ZF hub-motor axle. The buses can DC fast charge within four to six hours, depending on the grid load.

In London, the original buses are 2012 Ankai tri-axle diesel converted to fully electric by Equipmake. The conversion entails fitting a 327 kW battery pack that sends power to a single motor driving directly into the existing axles. The buses can be charged either AC or DC. The London buses are only used during the day, so they’ll be charged overnight on 22 kW chargers.

“We are thrilled to welcome these new electric buses as part of our investment in sustainability,” said Pat Waterman, executive chairman of Big Bus Tours. “This EV expansion is a major step forward in reducing our carbon footprint and enhancing the tour experience for our customers.”

The electric buses in all three European cities will hit the road this summer, bringing the company’s total electric fleet to 51 (just over 10% of its global fleet).
