You must "Discover" the places that you wish to quick travel to. When you go into a new place, it will say " [Location] has been discovered" and then, you can quick travel there, AFTER you do the quest "Powering The Fast Travel Networt." Just keep playing. fast travel in the original borderlands doesn't come till you defeat sledge, and officially move on from Fyrestone. You have to rescue lucky, and he will you give you the quest to turn on the fast travel station. Usually when I played through borderlands, this mission comes around level 20.

Either close the map and reopen it to try again or try using the side menu (with keyboard) or holding the mouse while above a fast travel station. Try not to hover over the map as to trigger any pop up while using the side menu. So this basicly comes down to: try every method of fast travel until it works.

By the time you get it there is very little reason to have it in the opening areas of the game where they actually have half a dozen. Yes, there are a few quests that send you back to the area but not all that many. You can test it by trying to fast travel to the dlc should work earlier.

Found a workaround. If you go to Settings > System on your ps4 menu there should be an option to "Use X button to Enter" check that then restart the game. Simply hover over the Fast Travel terminal you wish to zip to and hold the button down. You will quickly travel to that location. You can use the fast travel option in your Map using your Vehicle. To do that, Highlight your vehicle on your map and hold down Fast Travel to quickly zip to it.

Just keep playing. fast travel in the original borderlands doesn't come till you defeat sledge, and officially move on from Fyrestone.
