Yuengling tour Outstanding
We attended the noon yuengling tour and the staff is outstanding, the tour encompasses a lot of history and current day information....the tour guide was very knowledgable and the beer samples at the end were Great! They even had Lord Chesterfield for those from north east area....Amazingly the tour and samples are FREE... Since we went on Labor Day weekend the staff was off so we will go back soon to see the plant in action.
Loved the tour - very informational. Our tour guide gave us some Yeungling history, and explained the brewing process as we walked throughout the brewery. Lots of Q&A throughout the tour. Of course the best part was the samples of the diffferent types of beer they make. You can't buy any beer there, but they do have a souvenier shop that's priced reasonably (for a souvenier shop). I would recommend to all beer lovers. Even my wife enjoyed it, and she seldom drinks at all.
I went this last Saturday and had a blast! Brandon, our guide, took us around the various parts of the brewery. He was quite knowledgeable on the rich Yuengling history, and the process for brewing beer. He was clearly someone that loved his job! Not to mention, he added a lot of humor and personality to the tour. I've done the tour in the past and this was, by far, my favorite visit. The tour is absolutely free and you are able to have two samples at the end of the tour. If you have anyone in your group that doesn't like beer (though who doesn't?) or isn't old enough to drink the brewery also offers soda or water as an alternative. Be sure to wear closed toed shoes as this is a working brewery. Also, the tour is all ages, so you can bring kids as long as they are well behaved enough to follow along the tour. I brought my 7 year old and he had a great time.
My husband and I visited about 3 months ago. I'm not a beer drinker but I love learning how thing are made and I love free, lol, so I thought this would be a neat place to visit. They offer 3 tours daily during the week and 2 on Saturdays. They are closed Sunday. The tour guide was funny and made it interesting and they allow you to take pictures. except in the laboratory. After the tour, they give you a free sample of the beer or soda if you prefer. They have a little gift shop, where I bought a bottle of delicious BBQ sauce. People of all ages are allowed to visit, but I'm sure it would be boring for most children, so it's probably best to leave them at home, so that they're not bothering everyone else's tour. Oh, and like everyone else suggests....MAKE SURE TO WEAR CLOSED TOED SHOES! Anyway, It was a neat way to spend a little bit of our afternoon.
Went for a Saturday tour at Yuengling, Tampa. Tour is free, a guided walking tour, and lasts about 40 minutes. The plant is active Monday-Thursday, which might be more interesting for watching, but still plenty to see on the weekend. Informative, fun, and includes 2 free samples at the end. Note: Make sure to wear closed toe shoes! Check tour times at https://www.yuengling.com/breweries/tampa/
visited on a Saturday morning for the 1030am tour. YOU MUST HAVE CLOSED TOE SHOES! if you forget, (wearing sandals or similar) they do have a selection of 'loaner' shoes for you, but you probably dont want to touch them. tour guide was fun and sufficiently knowledgeable. our tour lasted approximately 30 minutes and provided a simplistic overview of the brewing process from grains to beer, including bottling and R&D lab. the best part of the tour is the end, where you (21+) receive two complimentary 7oz samples of beer from a wide selection of their brands. this is a perfect way to spend a rainy day, or a day on which the sun is too hot for you to go to the beach.

Yuengling Brewery Tour: America's Oldest Brewery
Step back in time—cold beer in hand—and discover the origins of America’s oldest brewery: the Yuengling brewery (Yuengling, pronounced YING-ling), is best known for its mild amber lager and also produces other beer varieties.
While you might not take your kids to a bar, the family-friendly brewery offers tours that are open to all ages. Complete your free walking tour with samples of their beverage—perfect after a sweltering day in Tampa .
Sunday is a day of rest everywhere, including Yuengling; it's the only day tours aren't offered. Beer also isn’t produced on Sundays, so Mondays through Fridays are the best days to go. There are typically three tours on each weekday—and two on Saturday—offered between mid-morning and early afternoon. Reservations aren't required, but since tour times are subject to change, give the brewery a ring before heading over for a tour. It’s also closed on major holidays.
Getting There
The brewery is about 9 miles northeast of downtown Tampa. If you're staying right in Tampa, use our Tampa travel guide to plan your trip before and after your visit to the brewery. Drive into the "Biergarten Entrance" on 30th Street and you'll find ample parking. If you prefer to kick back and let someone else handle the driving, take the Route 18 bus to 30th Street at East 109th Avenue, and you'll be let off in front of the brewery. Starting the day with a brewery tour and beer tasting could relax you just enough to be ready to take on a hectic amusement park, so it's convenient that Yuengling is located just 2 miles north of the main entrance to Busch Gardens.
What to Expect
Listen to a guide tell the tale of Yuengling's history, which began when a German immigrant named David Yuengling opened his original brewery located in Pennsylvania. You'll be led through the plant on a 75-minute tour of the beer-making process and may get the chance the chat with a master brewer and ask questions. Next, pull up a barstool in the biergarten, which serves as a tasting room. Sip samples of Yuengling's different brews, and go back for seconds if the staff is still serving. Soda is also available for the under-21 set and nondrinkers.
Tips and Guidelines
You may need to save your favorite shoes for another day. You won't be allowed on the tour wearing anything except closed shoes; even shoes with closed toes but openings elsewhere, such as clogs, aren't allowed. If you're over 21 and planning to sample the goods, make sure to bring your ID. Since tours are first-come, first-served, aim to arrive at least 15 minutes early. On a rainy day, you won't be the only one trying to duck the drizzle with an indoor tour, so you may want to arrive even earlier to beat the crowds. Bottoms up!

Yuengling & Son, Inc. broke ground on the revitalization of its Yuengling Tampa Campus with a keen focus on attracting visitors to enjoy its rich history, impressive facilities and solid beer selection. According to the press release, the new campus, slated to open in early 2022, marks Yuengling’s continued commitment to the Greater Tampa Bay community and the area’s growing tourism and local craft beer markets.
“Since purchasing the brewery in Tampa in 1999, we have been proud to be a member of the Greater Tampa Bay community,” said Wendy Yuengling, chief administrative officer and sixth generation family member, D.G. Yuengling & Son Inc. “We continue to look for meaningful ways to show our support for this thriving area from our work with the University of South Florida’s Brewing Arts Program which provides scholarships for veterans interested in pursuing brewing education, to our partnership at The Yuengling Center where we’ve been able to increase our support of the local community over the years. We consider Florida our second home, and we are excited to invest further in the Tampa community by offering Floridians and tourists an immersive experience into our brands, how our beers are made and our rich history as America’s Oldest Brewery.”
The revitalization will feature an array of first-class amenities which will appeal to the Greater Tampa Bay community and tourists from around the country, including:
- State-of-the art pilot brewing system
- Restaurant serving fresh, local cuisine
- Private dining and conference rooms
- Digital interactive history, artifacts and advertising memorabilia from Yuengling’s 191 year history as an American Owned and Family Operated Brewery
- Outdoor recreation area and beer garden
- Multi-use concert and entertainment pavilion
- Expanded gift shop and coffee bar
- On-site 15-story hotel
- Design character that reflects Yuengling’s rich industrial history as America’s Oldest Brewery
To lead the new Yuengling Tampa Campus, Yuengling has hired Brent Wertz as their new vice president of hospitality. Wertz will oversee the development and opening of the new Tampa Campus. Brent brings 30 years of extensive experience in food and beverage and is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America.
“I am honored to lead the new Yuengling Tampa Campus,” said Wertz. “I look forward to leveraging my 30 years of hospitality experience to build a world-class destination for America’s Oldest Brewery here in Tampa, by bridging the local Tampa culture with the unparalleled history of Yuengling.”
The new campus is being developed by Alliant Partners. The hotel is a venture between Alliant Partners and Capstone Development. Design and construction for the project are being managed by Alfonso Architects and Miller Brothers, respectively.
“This project by the Yuengling family is a keystone for the continuing revitalization of the Innovation District and will complement the incredible growth and development of The University of South Florida, Moffitt Cancer Center and the rest of the growing Tampa Innovation Partnership District,” said Carlos Alfonso, founding principal and CEO, Alliant Partners and Alfonso Architects.
Located at 11111 N 30 th Street, Yuengling’s Tampa Campus is less than two miles from Busch Gardens, the University of South Florida and Moffitt Cancer Center. Future guests of the campus will also be a short drive from the Tampa International Airport, within 30 minutes’ drive to ZooTampa and the Florida Aquarium, as well as downtown Tampa’s live entertainment, fine dining and shopping outlets.
The campus groundbreaking commemorates a strong year for Yuengling, in which the family-owned brewery released its new low calorie, low carb upscale light beer, FLIGHT by Yuengling, re-released its fan-favorite Yuengling Hershey’s Chocolate Porter in bottles across its 22-state footprint, and announced plans for future distribution further west through a long-term brewing partnership with Molson Coors.
Yuengling’s Tampa brewery is the company’s largest production facility of its three breweries, with two other breweries in Pottsville, Pa.
