Pedro did a great job in demystifying the Spanish ham infatuation. And the special stew from Madrid was outstanding, highly recommend this tour.

We had such a great time. We were the only two who booked this tour but they didn’t cancel it – we got a private tour! What a great bonus! We learned about the quality standards for iberico pigs, tasted great food, visited some amazing restaurants and got a great dose of Spanish history. We were honored our guide (Pedro?) let us have this experience and we got such a great insight to a good that is so important to Spain. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing night with Andres. The food was great, the wines were super, and most importantly we enjoyed the company. Andres knows a lot about wine and he made us try dishes and different types of wine that we wouldn't have known about on our own and he went out of his way to accommodate our requests. This tour should be the number 1 thing on your to do list in Madrid.

Throughly enjoyed the company of the tour guides. They made it personal. Their knowledge and insight was great. The bars etc selected opened a whole new world. Thanks for the adventure.

The tour itself was very good especially the young lady who did the tour but Viator's tour description was deceiving .It said there was a restaurant visit on top of a building with a cocktail , that didn't happen.I had the same experience with my Dubai trip .What you guys say and what we get , most of the time, isn't the same thing .That should be fixed.

It was a fun evening with Laura and all 10 of us friends. Laura was an excellent guide who shared a lot about Spain, food and herself. It was a great local interaction! Thank you for a great tour!

My boyfriend and I had a great time on this food tour where we got to not only eat delicious food but learn the layout and a little history of the city. I always recommend that folks do this at the beginning of their visit bc it’s an ideal way to get your bearings.

We scheduled a 2 and 1/2 hour tapas tour with Andreas. It was outstanding!! We had graet food and wine at three locations. Andres's knowledge and presentation made the evening fly. We actually ended up with a four hour event. We enjoyed the third location so much we took other people there 3 days later.Clearly we would recommend this to any visitor to Madrid.

Not only that, but you’ll be able to experience the different types of architecture, which is always exciting!

4. Premium Winery Tour: Ribera del Duero, Peñafiel & Two Top Wineries

  • Duration: 12 hours
  • Departure: Plaza de San Miguel, Pl. de San Miguel, Madrid
  • Departure Time: Morning
  • Includes: Private transport, alcoholic Beverages

This is yet another all-day adventure, where you’ll get to visit some of the best wineries and vineyards in all of Spain. The Premium Winery Tour: Ribera del Duero, Peñafiel & Two Top Wineries Tour is a must-see whether you’re a complete newbie to wine or practically a connoisseur.

Clocking in at 12 hours, you will learn so much through tasting, seeing, and hands-on experiences. Meet at plaza de San Miguel in front of Mercado de San Miguel first thing in the morning, where you’ll meet with your guide and receive a welcoming/briefing from them.

You’ll then head out to the Ribera del Duero region, which is renowned worldwide for its wine. With over 2,000 years of history, there’s definitely a lot to learn about!

After about 2 hours of driving, you’ll arrive at Aranda de Duero for a guided tour of the winery, along with a varied wine tasting.

Afterward, head to Peñafiel for some exploring and lunch! Known for its castle and gorgeous medieval square, it was once one of the most important commercial and historic centers of the country.

You’ll then head to Sardon de Duero for another winery guided tour or two, and some more wine tastings. We found everyone involved to be very knowledgeable and helpful. If you have any questions, they’re more than happy to answer them for you or offer more insight into wine notes, flavors, etc.

They’ll show you every step of the wine-making process, and being completely bilingual, it’s explained perfectly.

5. Wineries Guided Tour to Ribera del Duero w/ Wine Tasting from Madrid

  • Duration: 11 hours
  • Departure Time: 9:15 am
  • Includes:  Three winery visits, wine tasting (minimum of two wines on each winery), bilingual expert guide (Bilingual tour if necessary), transport by air-conditioned van or coach, snacks (at the wineries)

Next up, we have the Wineries Guided Tour to Ribera del Duero with Wine Tasting from Madrid . This 11-hour tour will give you insight into the unique background of the wine culture from Ribera del Duero.

Just like a few others on our guide, you’ll get to see 3 different wineries and learn about their versatile backgrounds and different methods for creating their vino .

What we really loved about this tour was the way they incorporated the regions very old history, medieval villages, squares, and castles into the winery and vineyard tours.

They do relate to one-another and still have quite a relevant influence. Meet up in Madrid with the rest of your group and tour guide/driver and head towards Ribera del Duero at 9:15 am.

One thing you’re sure to notice before you arrive is the gorgeous Duero river, beautifully-colored landscapes, and ancient pieces of architecture.

Your first tour will show you how they mix both new and classic wine-making techniques, and teach you about how they had to learn over the centuries how to best grow their grapes in the sometimes extreme weather conditions.

As the tours can change within different wineries, we can’t say exactly which ones you’ll visit. However, you will learn more about tempranillo wine and the step-by-step process of making it. You’ll get to try plenty of their aged and newer wines, as they explain to you the varied properties

After your first couple of winery tours, you’ll have some free time to enjoy a mouthwatering lunch in a traditional Castilian restaurant. Even if you aren’t that hungry, there are plenty of tapas options to nibble on! After refueling, you’ll get to check out a cool medieval underground cellar!

Well, you may not get to see the entire thing, as it is a whopping 4 miles long! Taste different wines as the guide fills you in on the history of this place.

6. Segovia & Ribera Del Duero Wine Tour w/ Lunch Included

  • Duration: 10 hours
  • Departure: Hotel Claridge, Pl. del Conde de Casal, 6, 28007 Madrid
  • Includes:  Bottled water, lunch, air-conditioned vehicle, lunch

If you’re interested in tasting varied styles of wine from Ribera de Duero, you’re in the right place. The Segovia & Ribera del Duero Wine Tour with Lunch Included option will take you back in time while explaining the relevance of some modern winemaking techniques employed today.

This 10-hour tour will start off at 9:30 am so you can fit in a ton of information (and wine)! Meet at a central Madrid location to board your air-conditioned, private coach.

While it may be tempting to fall asleep on this comfortable ride, you’ll want to enjoy the beautiful views outside and listen to your guide tell you all about the area.

They tend to be very friendly, funny, entertaining, and of course, extremely knowledgeable about the history of Madrid and the surrounding area and wine.

When you arrive to your first winery, you’ll learn all about the way they’ve produced their legendary wine for hundreds of years while incorporating particular modern techniques to enhance their tinto fino wines. Oh, and you’ll have plenty of opportunity to sample them as well, putting your newfound knowledge into play.

Next up, you’ll get to visit the aqueduct of Segovia, take in incredible views of a 12 th -century castle, explore underground cave networks, and more. Have lunch at one of the 3 wineries you’ll visit, in a serene, stunning setting.

From strictly traditional to ultra-modern, the winemakers will show you why they’re only growing in popularity. Crianza, Reserva, Joven, and Rosado are just some of the types you will sip on.

7. Guided Tour to Ribera del Duero Winery and Wine Tasting from Madrid

  • Departure: Hotel Claridge, Pl. del Conde de Casal, 6, 28007 Madrid, Spain
  • Includes:  Wine tasting, all activities, transport by air-conditioned minivan and coach, local professional guide

We couldn’t leave out the Guided Tour to Ribera del Duero Winery and Wine Tasting from Madrid ! Starting out at 9:30 am with roundtrip transport, if you’re staying in Madrid this is simply one of the most convenient ways of experiencing this wine country.

It’s simply one of the best wine tours available, and with so many to choose from, that’s really saying a lot. With some of the smallest group sizes (not due to demand, but rather for improved experience), it’s a very personalized tour that feels so welcoming and fun.

If you’ve ever wanted to do a winetasting in a castle, then look no further! The air-conditioned minivan is the perfect size for these small groups. They’re just spacious enough that you can stretch out and get comfortable, but not so big that it’s difficult to maneuver the vehicle or hear your guide/driver.

Along the way to the first vineyard, learn about the varied landscapes and the Duero river. Once you arrive, you’ll be greeted by the staff and jump right into learning about this magnificent wine region!

A very traditional wine is made here, with techniques that haven’t changed for hundreds of years. After, take a break for some lunch of traditional Castilian cuisine.

After, you’ll get to visit another one or two wineries, depending on traffic and other factors. The wineries are selected based on the type of methods they use, so you get a well-rounded experience and knowledge of each kind. Meanwhile, you’ll learn about the local gastronomy, landscapes, architecture (like a castle!), caves, and more.

What our customers say about us!

HALF DAY OF JOY With a spare day in Madrid my wife and I found Jimena and her company for the perfect winery tour in Spain. I wanted a small winery and unique tour and that is exactly what I got. Her knowledge was vast and the small organic winery we visited was amazing. The perfect personalized small winery tour. I would highly recommend anyone in the Madrid area looking for a winery experience, look up Colorful Wines!

PERFECT OUTING. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Jimena put together a great half-day tour for me and my family. Along with her team, Jimena arranged for everything (including transport, tour, tasting, and light meal) so that we didn’t have to worry about anything other than enjoying our time. She was also happy to help us with tips and advice when purchasing wine from the cellar to take with us. She is very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about wines, speaks (at least?) English, Spanish and French fluently and makes every effort to make the experience fun and memorable. Highly recommended!

GREAT FOR SPANISH SPEAKING PEOPLE AS WELL! Jimena did an amazing job! We were so happy we went for half day tour to a family owned winery with her. She gave us a lot of great wine tips, we came back home with 3 cases of great wine! 3 main things that I’d love to mention: 1. she has tours on Sundays 2. she perfectly speaks English (and as far as I know French as well) 3. she had such a personalized service, we were very happy! You will have great time and detailed information about wine (not Spanish only).

UNIQUE, GENUINE AND AUTHENTIC! From hotel pick-up to drop-off, Jimena and team were just fantastic! She was thoughtful, accommodating and speaks great English! We really enjoyed the entire experience–the wine tour and tasting was great. We also had fun with a quaint and private stroll through Navalcarnero, including a wonderfully delicious and authentic lunch! Not a typical “tour” by any means–so very unique and genuine–we loved it! Well worth the cost.

AMAZING WINE TOUR! We enjoyed an amazing, informative wine tour with Jimena (the owner) as our guide. She was knowledgeable and a lot of fun for my husband, two adult and two teenage children to have as our guide. We were picked up directly at our hotel which was convenient. Our booking was last minute so it was fantastic that we were able to go on this day trip. The winery we visited was a 5th generation family. So glad we were able to fit this into our trip. So Memorable! Truly a must do!

GREAT TOUR OF MADRID WINERY Jimena set up a spectacular wine tour for my girlfriend and I at a small, 5-generation winery outside of Madrid. We saw everything that goes into winemaking, from touring the vineyard and tasting grapes to the bodega where the wine is fermented in huge clay tanks and finally to the ancient cellar where it sits in bottles. We finished our tour with a tasting. Jimena did a great job translating and answering all of our questions. Thanks Jimena!

PERSONALIZED AND REWARDING! A ONCE IN A LIFETIME EXPERIENCE! Combining colorful wines, family traditions, and exceptionally educated and caring hosts, Colorful Wines has created a once in a lifetime tour experience. My wife and I loved the complete personalized atmosphere. From the 5th generation family owned and operated vineyard, to the history of the region, we were continuously impressed and inspired. Jimena and Colorful Wines’ knowledge of oenology was outstanding.

AMAZING WINE TOUR!!! My boyfriend and I did this tour together and we absolutely loved it! Jimena, the guide and owner of the company, made this tour personal and intimate. It was just the two of us and it was an up close and personal experience. We were able to see the vineyard, a historic cellar and taste the wines guided by a fifth generation wine maker. This experience is not something a large tour company with a lot of people would have been able to do. We highly recommend this tour. You will feel VIP!!

FUN TOUR! My 3 nieces and I recently enjoyed the Half Day Wine Tour with Jimena and Colorful Wines. It was a perfect day trip from Madrid and we really enjoyed our time with the owner of a local generational winery. Jimena was knowledgeable and a great tour guide/translator for our time together. I would highly recommend Colorful Wines and Jimena for a future wine tour.

AMAZING TOUR WITH COLORFUL WINES!!! Our hotel front desk personnel at The Mint recommended Colorful Wines and we are so grateful they did. My husband and I had a great time touring the Jose Diaz E Hijos vineyards, winery and tasting the fabulous wines. Our half day excursion was a great personalized tour with Jimena and her driver. We learned a lot of the area and the wines. JImena is so personable, knowledgeable and fun. I’ve been on a few wines tours in Napa and this tour was so much more than others.

A WONDERFUL PERSONALIZED EXPERIENCE We decided at the last minute in Madrid to book a wine tour and Jimena could not have been more accommodating. She arranged on one day’s notice to take us to a small family owned Organic winery about 35 minutes outside of Madrid. We were promptly picked up at our hotel for the scenic ride to the vineyard during which Jimena explained to us the varieties of wines in Spain. Upon our arrival at the vineyard we were greeted by the owner’s daughter…

We did the local Madrid wine tour: “Organic Bodega near Madrid & Cervantes’ Birthplace” Jimena was a fantastic guide, the winery is a very special place with Carlos the owner and his wife being the perfect hosts. Carlos with the history of the beginnings of their winery and a walk through the vineyard, finishing with wine tasting and parings. Lunch was fantastic! Tour of the town of Alcalá de Henares is very historic and small and a perfect ending…

I recently went with some friends to a beautiful winery near Madrid, and we experienced different wines (although my favourite ones are Rioja wines, I loved the wines from Madrid DO we tasted) and also gastronomic specialties. We absolutely loved it, it was a great experience! Jimena was a wonderful guide who showed us the area, described everything in depth and detailed all the wine characteristics. We tasted fabulous wines and the winery was really nice. Would love to repeat the experience…

AMAZING EXPERIENCE We visited 3 vineyards in Madrid. Passion and Knowledge for wines are the main words that come to mind when I remember Jimena; she was an excellent guide to my family and friends. I recommend her 100% to do something different and unique in Madrid.

GREAT WINE TASTING EXPERIENCE! We enjoyed a very unique tour and visit to a family-owned winery. It was a perfect 1/2 day tip from the city. Great wine, great guide, lots of history and knowledge!

Wine Tasting in Madrid: 10 Places You Have to Try

wine tasting tours madrid

Spain is one of the world’s top wine producers, and as the country’s capital, Madrid provides visitors with exciting wine tasting experiences and tours. In fact, many people travel here just to explore the famous wine route, featuring the wineries of the Madrid wine region. It allows visitors to discover the charming areas that make up the route and participate in workshops, themed wine tours, winery visits, vineyard picnics, and wine tastings.

Although winemaking in Madrid is an old custom, it wasn’t until 1990 that it established its own Designation of Origin. With the rediscovery of Spanish wines in the international market, Madrid wines and the rest of the country’s DOs have been brought back to light for wine lovers to enjoy.

However, you don’t have to go beyond the city for wine tastings and sample local favorites like Tinto Fino or Brut Nature Blanco, the only sparkling wine made in Madrid. You can enjoy Madrid wine tasting and food pairings in local bars, like Taberna Averias and Angelita Madrid , especially if you’re looking for things to do at night in Madrid . They serve a wide selection of Spanish wines and bottles from around the world.

Whether you visit a wine bar or want to see more of the wine region by joining the best Madrid wine tours, make sure you have a safe and secure place to store your bags. Belmont Stakes 2024 predictions, field, odds: Win, place, show, exacta, trifecta, plus superfecta expert picks

Kentucky derby winner mystik dan and preakness stakes winner seize the grey are the 2024 belmont stakes favorites, but does our expert think they can win.

preakness-3-usatsi.jpg

The 2024 Belmont Stakes will take place on Saturday. This year's final leg of the horse racing triple crown will have a different look, with Saratoga Race Course hosting while Belmont Park undergoes renovations. Saratoga is the fifth track in history to host the third leg of the Triple Crown and there were 10 horses that drew into the 2024 Belmont Stakes field during Monday's 2024 Belmont Stakes post position draw. Sierra Leone was the Kentucky Derby runner-up by a nose and the two-time graded stakes winner will return to the Triple Crown trail after bypassing the Preakness Stakes. Sierra Leone drew the No. 9 post and is the 9-5 favorite in the 2024 Belmont Stakes odds.

Meanwhile, Kentucky Derby winner Mystik Dan is 5-1 after drawing the No. 3 post and Preakness Stakes winner Seize the Grey is 8-1 after landing on the rail. With so much to consider while making your 2024 Belmont Stakes picks, a little expert help can go a long way .

The first Belmont Stakes was run in 1867 and was run in Jerome Park Racetrack in the Bronx and it was held there for 22 years. It was hosted at Morris Park from 1890-1904 before Belmont Park became the almost permanent home for the race. The third leg of the Triple Crown was hosted at Aqueduct from 1963-1967 while Belmont underwent renovations and Saratoga Race Course is the temporary home for the 2024 and 2025 Belmont Stakes while Belmont Park once again undergoes renovations. The "Test of Champions" is typically 12 furlongs (1 1/2 mile) but this year's race will be 10 furlongs (1 1/4 mile) while Saratoga hosts.

Given all the history, there's a method to picking which horses to focus on for exacta, trifecta and superfecta bets in the Belmont Stakes, and SportsLine expert Jody Demling knows what it is. He can help you make the best 2024 Belmont Stakes picks possible .

A fixture in the horse racing world who has been writing about, talking about and betting on races for years, Demling enters the 2024 Belmont Stakes having nailed the winner of the Belmont Stakes four of the last six years, including an exacta in 2022 with Mo Donegal and Nest. He also called Flightline's win at the Breeders' Cup Classic in November of that year.

Demling is at his best in the biggest horse races in the world like the Belmont Stakes 2024. In fact, he has hit 11 of the last 16 Derby-Oaks doubles at Churchill Downs. He's also called 10 of the last 20 Preakness winners, including nailing his Preakness winner, exacta, trifecta and superfecta picks in 2023 and then the trifecta again in 2024. Anyone who has followed him is up huge.

He keenly understands when the Kentucky Derby or Preakness Stakes winners were poised for victory or a massive upset in the final leg of the Triple Crown. Anyone who has followed him is up huge.  Now, he's sharing all of his 2024 Belmont Stakes bets here .

Top 2024 Belmont Stakes expert picks

Here's a refresher on these types of bets from SportsLine's Jody Demling:

Belmont Stakes Exacta: Pick the first- and second-place finishers in the correct order. A $2 exacta returned $68 at the 2023 Belmont Stakes with Arcangelo and Forte.

Belmont Stakes Trifecta: Pick the first-, second- and third-place finishers in the correct order. A $1 trifecta returned $133.24 at the 2023 Belmont Stakes with Arcangelo, Forte and Tapit Trice.

Belmont Stakes Superfecta: Pick the first-, second-, third- and fourth-place finishers in the correct order. A $1 superfecta returned $292.50 at the 2023 Belmont Stakes with Hit Show and $191.50 with Angel of Empire after a tie for fourth.

Demling is fading Preakness Stakes winner Seize the Grey. Instead, he is building his tickets around Sierra Leone and a big longshot who "keeps getting better and better." You can see his picks here .

How to make 2024 Belmont Stakes bets

Demling has specific recommendations for exacta, trifecta and superfecta wagers so you can cover all your bases at the Belmont Stakes 2024. He's sharing them over at SportsLine .

So which horses do you take, and in what combinations? Visit SportsLine to get Demling's picks for exacta, trifecta and superfecta bets for the 2024 Belmont Stakes .
