Woman celebrates 109th birthday by being top model in community fashion show

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. (WSB) - A Georgia woman was the star of a fashion show this week while celebrating her 109th birthday.

Peggy Cobb resides at the Hammond Glen Retirement Community in Sandy Springs.

To celebrate her birthday on Wednesday, she was the top model in the community’s fashion show.

“I can’t imagine ever being bored,” Cobb said. “This is so much fun.”

Last year, she even celebrated her birthday by publishing a children’s book.

Her long list of accomplishments goes back to her college days in the early 1930s. Cobb earned a master’s degree and said she would return to school if she was 18 again.

“I have such faith in young people today,” she said.

When Cobb was born, former President Woodrow Wilson was in the White House. She has lived through 18 presidents.

If you want to see as much as Cobb has, she shared a little advice.

“Oh, people get so set in their ways. Be flexible and you won’t get bent out of shape,” she said.
