Amazing. Per usual and as always. Matt spent the last 20 minutes in the crowd raising hell and getting the crowd hyped. My only complaint is that the Granada's sound system can't support how loud they play.

The Bronx were awesome and full of energy as always! Matt continued his tradition of coming into the crowd and getting rowdy with us in the pit. His energy and passion for music is different from any frontman I’ve seen in my 20 plus years of going to shows. Thanks to The Bronx for making rock n’ roll fun!
What a band and what a front man! Awesome performance with a tonne of energy. I reckon the vocals needed turning up a bit though. Sound was a lot better when they were in the smaller room upstairs at the 02. Cant wait to see them again.

Getting Around The Bronx
Like much of New York City, most of The Bronx is walkable — and bikeable. Actually, Citi Bike stations are all over NYC, including The Bronx, and offer a budget-friendly way to get around in an eco-friendly way that also allows you to see the sights.
In terms of public transportation, the best way to get around The Bronx is via subway, which gets you anywhere you may need to go for just $2.75 — no need to wait in traffic.
Additionally, The Bronx (and the rest of NYC) is connected via other public transportation options like buses and even ferries. While buses are operated by the MTA, just like the subway, you’ll want to download the NYC Ferry app to see schedules and buy tickets for the ferry.
Prefer a private car service? Uber and Lyft are plentiful in The Bronx, though do note that cabs tend to be much cheaper. You can hail a cab on the a main street, which is the cheapest option, or use an app like Arro or Curb to order one.
Driving? It’s much easier to find parking in The Bronx than it is in Manhattan, though you can always use the SpotHero website and app to snag super discounted parking spots. This is especially recommended if you end up driving into Manhattan, where finding parking is a nightmare.

Prefer self-contained stays?

You can also use the map below to search for local stays. It’s set to Mott Haven, but you can easily change the location to your specific destination. Note that Mott Haven does have a high crime rate; however, it’s also very close to Manhattan, easily accessible the Bronx attractions like Yankee Stadium, and is home to great restaurants and hotels itself.
If you’d like something with a lower crime rate, Bronx neighborhoods like Country Club, Kingsbridge, Morris Park, Riverdale, and Woodlawn may be a better fit.
The Bronx Travel Insurance
When visiting The Bronx — or anywhere else in the world — make sure to get travel insurance to protect your health and safety.
In my opinion, the best travel medical insurance for travelers is SafetyWing as they’ve got a large network and offer both short-term and long-term coverage — including coverage if you’re traveling for months as well as limited coverage in your home country).
Additionally, SafetyWing is budget-friendly and offers $250,000 worth of coverage with just one low overall deductible of $250.
With coverage, you’ll have peace of mind as you embark on your Bronx travel itinerary.

Trump draws large crowd at rally in the Bronx
A rally for former President Donald Trump drew a large crowd at Crotona Park in the Bronx Thursday night.
NY1 reporters on scene said the turnout was in “in the thousands.”
What You Need To Know
A rally for former president donald trump drew a large crowd at crotona park in the bronx thursday night ny1 reporters on scene said the turnout was in “in the thousands” trump in 2020 won only 16% of the vote in the borough, which is considered a democratic stronghold some politicians had previously voiced opposition to trump’s stop in the bronx, calling it a political stunt.
Trump in 2020 won only 16% of the vote in the borough, which is considered a Democratic stronghold. Nevertheless, Trump — in the city for his criminal hush money trial in Manhattan — used a recess in the trial to campaign for support in his presidential bid.
In his speech, Trump criticized the current state of the city.
“Sadly, this is now a city in decline. Throughout my life, I’ve seen New York through good times and bad, through boom times and crime waves, through market crashes and terrorist attacks. But I’ve never seen it quite like this,” Trump said.
The former president said he could “make New York City great again,” while touting his prior accomplishments in the city — such as helping build Wollman Rink in Central Park and the Javits Center — as a real estate developer.
“Don’t worry, it gets positive,” Trump said. “Remember, we’re all winners. We’re going to win so big we’re going to make it [New York City] bigger and better than ever before.”
A group of counter-protestors, including elected officials and members of labor unions, rallied against what they said was Trump’s divisive rhetoric at the event Thursday.
"He [Trump] is winning people over through predjudice and fear, which is a really scary thing," David Bolger, a counter-protester, said.
Some politicians had previously voiced opposition to Trump’s stop in the Bronx, calling it a political stunt. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said it was a “fundraising tactic” in an interview on “Mornings on 1” Thursday.
Bronx Congressman Ritchie Torres said, “The only place in the Bronx where Donald Trump has any place being is Bronx Criminal Court.”
In an interview on CNN Thursday, Gov. Kathy Hochul said New York will never support Donald Trump for president.
“We know him better than anyone, and that means we understand what he’s all about,” Hochul said. “If he wants to spend his time doing these made-up, fake rallies pretending there’s support here, be my guest.”
Trump is under a gag order during his hush money trial, which resumes on Tuesday. Though he previously violated the order multiple times, Trump kept mostly quiet about his feelings on the proceedings during the Bronx rally.

Go on a 'Wild Encounter' at the Bronx Zoo
The Bronx -- While any trip to the zoo is bound to be enriching and educational, the Bronx Zoo is taking the experience to the next level with its "Wild Encounters" program.
Supervisor Kira Babuska helps bring visitors and animals face-to-face. She calls "Wild Encounters "a special experience that you can add to your day at the zoo.
You can walk into a room and be able to hear an animal purr or you can look at one right in the eye.
"They will come into this room sometimes and smell your shoes to see if you have any pets at home."
The close connections bring out the animals true personality.
Zoo director Jim Breheny hopes the encounters remind guests not to take wildlife for granted.
He says: "We want the takeaway to be that these animals are a resource. Theyre a wonder of nature. Just because theyre here now, here at the Bronx Zoo when you come here doesnt mean youre gonna see them tomorrow. We need to conserve these species and protect the wild areas where they live."
Kira and her team of keepers introduces us to a few headliners. Make sure to watch the video.

Trump gears up for unique South Bronx rally
Former President Trump is holding a rally on Thursday in South Bronx, a New York neighborhood that's 64% Hispanic and 31% Black.
Why it matters: It'll be a test of how much support (or curiosity) he will be able to gin up in a nonwhite, working-class community.
What we're watching: Trump is expected to talk about the economy, crime and immigration in front of a crowd of several thousand at Crotona Park in South Bronx, New York.
- It will be his first large-scale campaign rally in New York since 2016.
The details: The New York Young Republican Club has been a key partner to the Trump campaign in setting up the rally and trying to get the word out.
- It has been working with the predominantly Hispanic members of the Bodega Association and the National Supermarket Association, made up of independent supermarket owners.
- The two associations' members have been putting up some 5,000 double-sided bilingual flyers up on storefronts along their usual restocking routes and on street corners.
- The New York Young Republican Club has also been advertising the event on electronic billboards in the Bronx in both English and Spanish.
The other side: New York Democrats, including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, have not been pleased with Trump's expected visit.
- "He's hosting a rally to try to con people ... and by the way, he's doing it in the South Bronx ... because he's got the legal version of an ankle bracelet. You can't leave the five boroughs because you always have to be in court. And so it is truly an embarrassment to him," Ocasio-Cortez said.
- Bronx Democrats are counterprogramming Trump's rally with a demonstration of their own at the other end of Crotona Park, the New York Post reported .
- Jasmine Harris, the Biden campaign's Black media outreach director, called Trump's rally "a halfhearted attempt ... to pander for Black and Latino votes," adding he "stepped into public life by falsely accusing the Central Park 5 [and] taking the racist birther movement mainstream."
By the numbers: 10,000 people had signed up to attend the rally, a person involved in organizing the event said this week.
- The Trump campaign has filed a permit for 3,500 people.
How it happened: The Trump campaign and New York Young Republican Club started planning for an event in New York this year after Trump attended the Club's Gala last December.
- Other outdoor venues that were considered included St Mary's Park and Claremont Park, both in the Bronx.
- New York City Council's Republican minority leader Joseph Borelli helped the Trump campaign with some of the planning, including getting the paperwork for the venue.
What they're saying: "I certainly think it's novel and it's historic," New York Young Republican Club President Gavin Wax told Axios in an interview.
- "I think there's a lot of people [planning to attend] who may not be described as Trump supporters by any means," he said.
The bottom line: President Biden won the Bronx in 2020 with 83.3% of the vote.

Fat Joe Awarded Honorary Doctorate by Lehman College in The Bronx
He delivered a speech at the school's 56th Annual Commencement Ceremony.
Fat Joe has been awarded an honorary Doctorate by Lehman College in The Bronx.
The Bronx native was a special guest at Lehman College's 56th Annual Commencement Ceremony on Thursday, May 30, during which he received his honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree and gave a speech about his belief in the American dream and the importance of giving back to his community.
"I have a friend... that started out selling fish, on the side of the highway," he told the audience. "He eventually bought the building behind him and opened the biggest fish market in the Bronx. You may be the first generation, but now is the time to stop the vicious cycle of poverty in your family. Now is the time. You're just beginning your lives... Some of you been around, but I'm telling you success never stops. There is no age limit to being successful."
He reflected on the early days of his career and how he was once told to save his money, because "rappers don't make it this long." Now 53, he considers himself the most successful he's ever been.
In a video announcing he would receive the honorary doctorate, Fat Joe said he's "very proud" of how he was able to be successful despite facing so much adversity and violence growing up.

"Engaging a New York City and cultural icon like Fat Joe with our campaign is a great representation of the US Open experience,” said USTA's managing director of pro tennis marketing and entertainment, Nicole Kankam. "His presence is undeniable and he’s the perfect match for the growing energy, excitement and profile of the US Open."
