ABOUT ALICE COOPER:

Alice Cooper pioneered a grandly theatrical brand of hard rock that was designed to shock. Drawing equally from horror movies, vaudeville, and garage rock, the group created a stage show that featured electric chairs, guillotines, fake blood and boa constrictors. Alice Cooper brings his own brand of rock psycho-drama to fans both old and new, enjoying it as much as the audience does. Twenty-plus years into the new millennium, Cooper is always very productive and busy, touring worldwide year-in and year-out while also writing, recording and releasing new albums like 2021’s “Detroit Stories,” which entered the Billboard Album chart at #1, and finishing up TWO new albums planned for 2023, while also continuing to do his nightly “Nights With Alice Cooper” syndicated radio show.

Rob Zombie is an American musician, film director, screenwriter and film producer best known as a founding member of White Zombie.

Rob grew up in Haverhill, Massachusetts and had an obsession with horror films from a young age and stated that he always "wanted to be Alice Cooper, Steven Spielberg, Bela Lugosi, and Stan Lee". His parents worked in the carnival trade, so Rob had a taste of the eccentric from the very beginning however they decided to leave after a riot broke out in the tents one evening. Rob co-founded the band that would become known as White Zombie with his girlfriend at the time Sean Yseult. Zombie's music heavily draws influence from classic horror films and suspense films. He has listed Alice Cooper, KISS, Queen, and Elton John as some of his influences growing up.

White Zombie self released their first LP 'Soul-Crusher' in 1987 and followed this in 1989 with 'Make Them Die Slowly', neither release earned the band any commercial success. Undeterred, the band continued to record material and their first hit single came in the form of 'Thunder Kiss '65' which was featured on popular MTV show 'Beavis & Butt-head'. Their next album 'La Sexorcisto: Devil Music, Vol.1' was a commercial success in both the US and Canada and has now sold over two million copies. White Zombie ended on a high with their final album 'Astro-Creep: 2000 – Songs of Love, Destruction and Other Synthetic Delusions of the Electric Head' which charted within the top 10 of the US album charts.

Rob had already begun writing solo material before the band's break up and his LP 'Hellbilly Deluxe: 13 Tales Of Cadaverous Cavorting Inside The Spookshow International' was released in 1998. It was a commercial hit, peaking at number 5 on the Billboard 200 with first week sales of 121,000 overshadowing any of White Zombie's previous releases. All five of Rob's solo efforts have charted top 10 in the States and three are certified gold selling. Rob has pursued a number of other media outlets over his career, he has done voice over work in films including 'Slither', 'Super' and 'Guardians Of The Galaxy' and has directed 'Halloween' and 'The Lord Of Salem'.

Live reviews

A Rob Zombie concert isn’t just about the music, it’s about the presentation! RZ puts on a SHOW! In the past there have been pyrotechnics and giant video monitors.

I’ve seen RZ 10 times total and no show has ever disappointed. He is just as awesome outdoors at Rock on the Range in Columbus, OH in front of 30,000 as indoors in Sioux City, IA at a much smaller indoor venue. Shows vary, depending on RZ’s current album.

Obviously the songs changed from MARS NEEDS WOMEN when VENOMOUS RAT came out. I loved the JESUS FRANKENSTEIN opening a couple years ago, but TEENAGED NOSFERATU explodes when RZ has opened his shows in 2013. The only downside is RZ can’t play ALL of the songs you love. Hits like SUPERBEAST, DRAGULA, LIVING DEAD GIRL, MORE HUMAN THAN HUMAN, PUSSY LIQUOR, THUNDER KISS ’65, NEVER GONNA STOP, MEET THE CREEPER and SICK BUBBLEGUM are played at every concert. Most recently TEENAGED NOSFERATU, WE’RE AN AMERICAN BAND, and DEAD CITY RADIO have been making the cut.

The showmanship is awesome to behold. RZ dances around, taunts his robots, shoots fire bursts into the air and enters the audience. Even if you know he’s coming RZ manages to just appear among his fans. Just try and keep up and snap his picture. Guitarist JOHN 5 and Bassist PIGGY D are electrifying in their makeup and costumes and are two of the sweetest guys in metal. I saw them interact with fans at the RZ tent in Chicago last year and you could not ask for more fan friendly band members.

I got the chance to meet RZ and the band and have my photo taken with them at the Sioux City show last November. SO worth it if you get the opportunity. RZ concerts are always high energy. I love RZ! My absolute favorite show was the TWINS OF EVIL tour he did with MARYLIN MANSON. I wish they would do that again. You need to experience ROB ZOMBIE!

Write your review of Rob Zombie here... I'm a huge fan of Rob Zombie's live performances. I've been fortunate enough to see Mr Zombie numerous times on many different stages. This show at the City National Civic in San Jose was a great show! The show started with Rob Zombie's drummer Gingerfish as the opening act DJ. He spun a variety of non traditional records from The Ramone's "Sedated" to Motley Crues "Live Wire" while parading around in a robe as if he were a Tom Cruise sliding across the floor to. Bob Segar's "old time rock n roll". Something I've never seen before at a show and I've been to a lot. Zombie and crew came out swinging as usual. I was happy to see them in full costume. The bands energy level was up high and on mark. He did all the classics like "living dead girl", "Dragula", "superbeast" and the White Zombie staples "Thunderkiss 65" and "More Human than Human". I only wish he would add back "super charger Heaven" which is one of the best guitar intro's ever made. The stage lighting is fantastic. Rob is a showman who feeds off the energy of his crowd and he was on full throttle last night. John 5 is a phenomenal guitar player who was flawless as he was shredding through the catalogue of songs. If you haven't seem him you should. They are one of the premier acts to see live. A very unique experience. It's always nice to see him indoors like at the City National Civic. I just feel it is a better platform for the type of show they do. I highly recommend the experience. He's a perfectionist who takes pride in his craft.

Rob Zombie should I say more! He always puts a great show to work, he entertains everyone with his awesome singing and kick ass venues. They couldn't have picked a better place for the tribute to Johnny and Tommy Ramone. Hollywood all star cemetery. First time going there and it was stupendous! Bravo to everyone who played also and sang the Ramones songs. I can't believe Billy Idol was one of the few singers that also sang for the Ramones tribute pure epicness. Special Guest Johnny Depp was there also! It was a great experience, it really captured a sense of tribute, seeing how many people support the old school band it will always live on. Rob Zombie hosted an excellent show and I can't wait to see him once again to rock out to all his songs. Rob Zombie is one hell of an artist , every show is just one epic night.

The show at the Rave/Eagle's Club in Milwaukee was the best concert I've ever been to! He played for an hour and a half and kept leaving and coming back on stage with new costumes. He played all great songs and kept the crowd going. Girls were flashing and taking off their clothes! At one point a girl threw her bra on stage and the guitarist wore it on his head for a little bit. Rob Zombie also let the crowd carry him for a bit! It was epic! There was tons of crowd surfing, head banging, and just all around a good time! Don't miss out on an opportunity to see these guys EVER!

Rob Zombie killed yet another show last night. Every time I see his show it is a that my voice will be gone. What make his concerts even better for me is taking my son to his shows. I think he was hooked the from the start of his very first zombie concert. Pop Evil did a great job warming up the crowd, and Disturbed put on such a great concert, but there is a good reason I have been a Zombie fan since 1992. Rob Zombie has to be on of the great live concert performers of all time. If you haven't had a chance to see him perform treat yourself to a great show.

Saw Rob Zombie at Hellfest 2014 and that was a treat. When you find it on the internet, they have a 29min. clip of the performance and you're only seeing half of his show. I genuinely enjoyed the performance because he was funny, entertaining (dancing around, cracking jokes, walking the barriers), and the music was amazing. Combine the rest of the band who are stars in their own right and you have a show I was disappointed wasn't one of the headliners \m/

I had tickets 3 other times to see Rob since 1994. Something always happened and I didn't get to the shows. Unfortunately he didn't live up to my expectations. His vocals were not great and the guitarist seemed a little off as well. THe stage show and videos were good. He was not bad but he wasn't as good as expected, and playing after Korn had a killer show just made him look worse. 22 years of waiting and all I can do is :(

Rob Zombie I'm pretty sure has reached the point beyond legendary. His fans are some of the most loyal fans you will ever see. Yes, Zombie is getting older but he still puts on a heck of a show. But because he is getting older, he cannot sing like he used too. Now he sort of speaks the words to the songs and the fans do the rest. But no matter what happens at one of his shows, it is still a beyond legendary performance.

Third time seeing both Rob Zombie and Korn ... Both were a power packed Adrenaline rush of heavy riffs and super strength vocals that can only make you thankful you came and leaving you wanting more !!! I was on my toes jumping and enjoying : Each and Every second !! The entire concert Rocked with Passion and Dreads !!!

I will see them both again - No Doubt !!!

Rob Zombie, Alice Cooper Kick Off Freaks On Parade 2023 Tour

Rob Zombie kicked off his traveling horror fest to Texas alongside the legendary Alice Cooper. Ministry and Filter were strong openers on the tour that will travel the country.

Some lineups, like this one, just fit perfectly.

When Zombie was just 5 years old, Cooper released "I'm 18" off the band's third album, the menacingly-titled Love It To Death .

rob zombie on tour

On that 1971 tour, a 23 year-old Cooper would appear in a straightjacket and later get zapped in an electric chair, which was, uh, shocking to audiences who'd never seen quite a spectacle like that just a few years removed from The Summer of Love.

Fast forward to the 21st century where Rob Zombie has made a career of living up to his name by following in the industrial-heavy footsteps of Marilyn Manson and Nine Inch Nails who followed in the footsteps of Ministry.

Filter, being led by a former Nine Inch Nail slides right into that line up comfortably.

The granddaddy of them all, Alice, releases his 29th studio album today, Road , which is heavy, scary, and does not sound one bit like it's coming from a man who is 75 years old.

His collaboration with Rage Against The Machine's guitar hero Tom Morello might have some silly lines and imagery but who cares: listen to those thick riffs.

The action kicked off at the Dos Equis Pavillion in Dallas Thursday August 24 and if the set Alice brought to opening night is indicative of what the tour is going to be like, fans shouldn't miss a thing.

Starting off with "Lock Me Up," Cooper arrives in a top hat, cane, and familiar makeup and sets the stage with the track from 1987's Raise Your Fist And Yell .

rob zombie on tour

What follows next are a slew of hits from the '70s during a time when Alice was not just selling millions of records but paving the way for hard rock, metal, and horror rock bands to come.

Rob Zombie gave the audience what Beavis and Butthead thought was pretty cool.

Last month when Zombie was in Minnesota, told the story that before the two teenage cartoon characters praised the band on an episode, they were only selling 500 copies a week. But after Beavis said "Yes! Yes!" to "Welcome to Planet MF," they were selling tens of thousands a week and playing arenas instead of clubs

Then they rocked out to "Thunder Kiss '65" as a giant demon stalked the stage.

Decades later Zombie is a filmmaker directing scary movies, a shriek-maker via designing Halloween horror nights at amusement parks like Universal Studios, and now the ringleader of this traveling hard rock festival.

Watch: ROB ZOMBIE Kicks Off 'Freaks On Parade' 2023 North American Tour With ALICE COOPER

Rob Zombie kicked off his "Freaks On Parade" 2023 tour with Alice Cooper last night (Thursday, August 24) at Dos Equis Pavilion in Dallas, Texas. Fan-filmed video of Rob 's performance can be seen below (courtesy of the Russell McKeown   YouTube channel).

Rob 's setlist was as follows, according to Setlist.fm :

01. The Triumph Of King Freak (A Crypt Of Preservation And Superstition) 02. Feel So Numb 03. Well, Everybody's Fucking In A U.F.O. 04. What Lurks On Channel X? 05. Superbeast 06. Demonoid Phenomenon 07. Drum Solo 08. The Lords Of Salem 09. House Of 1000 Corpses 10. More Human Than Human (WHITE ZOMBIE song) 11. Living Dead Girl 12. Thunder Kiss '65 (WHITE ZOMBIE song) 13. Dragula

This past May, Rob told "Howie Mandel Does Stuff" that he had started work on his next studio album. "It's been a while since I've made a record," he said. "I was [working on the music for the LP] till about a week ago. And it's going good. It's a long process.

"I like making records over a long period of time, so that I can live with it," he explained. "Sometimes you write something and it's new and you're all excited 'cause it's new and the time goes by, [and you're, like] 'Eh, it's just exciting 'cause it's new. It's not really that good.' But if you live with stuff for a while, you kind of [get a better sense of how strong it is]."

Elaborating on how he goes about making albums, Rob said: "Usually it starts with just me and the producer coming up with ideas, mapping out rough ideas. And then the band will start, 'I've got this idea. And this idea…' I haven't stood in a room with a band and jammed on ideas since the early '90s. 'Cause I just always found that to be really draining… I like working with one guy behind the board and we formulate ideas and you piece it together — kind of like you would a movie; it's kind of similar. As opposed to a bunch of guys jamming all day long. You're, like, 'Anyone got any ideas?' 'Not really.'"

Asked how close he is to completing the next album, Rob said: "Not close at all. We just have a ton of ideas and I've gotta take those ideas, whittle them down, start writing lyrics, see if that makes sense… Hopefully by next summer [it will be ready]."

Rob 's seventh studio album, "The Lunar Injection Kool Aid Eclipse Conspiracy" , was released in March 2021 via Nuclear Blast . The LP marked Rob 's first new album in nearly five years. The follow-up to 2016's "The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser" was produced by Chris "Zeuss" Harris .

"The Lunar Injection Kool Aid Eclipse Conspiracy" was the third consecutive effort to feature Zombie and guitarist John 5 alongside bassist Piggy D. and drummer Ginger Fish .

Last fall, John 5 exited Rob 's band to join MÖTLEY CRÜE as the replacement for that group's founding guitarist Mick Mars . John 5 has since been replaced in Zombie 's band by returning guitarist Mike Riggs .

Riggs had previously spent six years as a member of ROB ZOMBIE . Riggs joined forces with Rob in the '90s and stayed with him into the early 2000s, eventually leaving in 2004 (when Rob Zombie was largely focusing on films rather than music) to start a project of his own. Riggs songwriting and crunching guitars can be heard on Rob Zombie 's "Hellbilly Deluxe" , "American Made Music To Strip By" , "The Sinister Urge" and "The Past, Present & Future" records.

More recently, Riggs had kept busy with his band SCUM OF THE EARTH , named after a song from "Sinister Urge" . SCUM OF THE EARTH favors the sort of rhythmic, industrial-influenced, mildly funky, hip-hop-minded alternative metal that Riggs honed during his initial Rob Zombie days.

John 5 had worked with Zombie for 16 years, co-writing on all studio albums since "Educated Horses" , and composing the score for Zombie 's 2013 movie "The Lords Of Salem" .

Thanks for contacting us. We've received your submission.

Earth Wind and Fire singer Philip Bailey (L), Imagine Dragons frontman Dan Reynolds and Dave Matthews are headlining at New Jersey's PNC Bank Arts Center in summer 2024.

If it’s been too long since you’ve sat on a lawn and enjoyed live music, we’re here to help fix that.

This summer, Holmdel, NJ’s PNC Bank Arts Center is putting on 40 (!) huge shows from early June all the way up until late September.

Best of all, there will be a little something for everyone.

Love classic rock? Then you might want to check out icons like The Beach Boys (June 1), John Fogerty (June 15), Bob Dylan with Robert Plant and Willie Nelson (June 30), The Doobie Brothers (Aug. 6) and Deep Purple (Aug. 31).

More of a ’90s fan? Alanis Morissette (July 3), Dave Matthews Band (July 10), Third Eye Blind (July 14), Limp Bizkit (July 30) and Hootie and the Blowfish (Aug. 2) will be there, too.

Plus, Maroon 5 (June 29), Earth Wind and Fire (Aug. 3), Imagine Dragons (Aug. 4), New Kids On The Block (Aug. 8) and Avril Lavigne (Aug. 23) are set to grace the PNC Bank Arts stage as well.

Don’t sleep on Bob Dylan with Robert Plant and Willie Nelson (June 30) or Jason Aldean (July 13) either.

And there’s still so, so, so much more.

You won’t have to break the bank to see these household names, either.

At the time of publication, the lowest price we could find on tickets was $21 before fees on Vivid Seats.

Still need a few more details filled in?

We’ve got you covered.

For a closer look at who’s heading to Holmdel these next few months, we have a list of all 40 concerts coming to the PNC Bank Arts Center in summer 2024.

All prices listed above are subject to fluctuation.
