Along with acts such as My Bloody Valentine, Cocteau Twins, and Slowdive, the British experimental pop group Ride helped lay the framework for the shoegaze genre. They are noted for layering sounds into complicated and lush mosaics, while maintaining a strong presence of pop sensibilities.

Ride formed in Oxford, England in 1988 and consisted of members Andy Bell, Laurence Colbert, Mark Gardener, and Steve Queralt. Before the group’s formation Bell and Garderner were involved in musical theatre at Cheney School in Oxford, but eventually went on to study art and design at North Oxfordshire located in Banbury. They met fellow student Colbert there and recruited him to be the band’s drummer. Queralt (who was in the reggae/pop band the Spiderbacks with Bell) became the group’s bassist. The members shared a love for 60s psychedelic rock bands like the Velvet Underground, Pink Floyd and the Byrds as well as 80s noise-pop acts such as Spaceman 3 and Sonic Youth; however, Ride reportedly owes it’s existence to The Smiths (one of their performances was a life-altering experience for Bell).

Ride recorded their first demo in 1988, which consisted of the songs “Chelsea Girls” and “Drive Blind”. Jim Reid, the lead singer of the Jesus & Mary Chain heard the demo and impressed by the group’s sound past it on to his manager Alan McGee. Less than a year later McGee signed the band to Creation Records. Ride proved to be one of the labels most promising acts. Within 9 months the band had recorded and released 3 EPs “Ride”, “Play”, and “Fall” all which entered the UK Top 75.

On 15 October 1990, Ride released their studio debut “Nowhere”. The album included all of tracks on their “Fall” EP as well as an additional 4 newly recorded songs. It was a commercial and critical landmark for the group, going silver in the UK and rising to No. 11 on the charts. The album has been recognized as an essential record of the shoegaze genre (a label the band often rejects) and likewise one of the greatest albums of the 90s. One of the album’s songs “Vapour Trail” has left a strong impression on popular culture as well. It appeared at No.145 on Pitchfork’s Top 200 Tracks and was also mentioned in the book “Perks of Being a Wallflower”.

Due to the hype created from their studio debut, fans were eager to hear a new recording form the band. Ride answered their audience’s demand with their 1991 EP “Today Forever”. As “Nowhere” established the group as noise-rock heroes “Today Forever” acted as an erasure for that title and saw the group headed towards a more pop oriented direction. Despite the change in sound the EP did well commercially and critically and was followed by a near-instantly sold out tour of Japan.

The band toured excessively around this time and the strain it placed on the members started to show; however, they returned with another ecstatically reviewed and commercially accepted album “Going Blank Again”. This was followed by more touring, this time alongside the brit-pop group the Charlatans.

Around the time of the recording of their 3rd album “Carnival of Light” the band was self-reportedly delving into extreme indulgence and treated their music on a secondary level. Inevitably the album received harsh reactions from both critics and the band themselves. Their next album “Tarantula” did not do much better. The band was starting to implode at this point, stemmed largely by disagreements between Bell and Gardner. The writing on the album was split between the 2 musicians, with Bell accounting for most of the material. The album struggled on the charts and was dismissed by critics, eventually being dropped by its label within 1 week of sales.

Roughly 6 years after the band’s demise they appeared in a Sonic Youth documentary and played a 20 minute jam session for the film, which was later released in 2002 as “Coming up for Air”. In November of 2014 the band announced that they would be reuniting and released a string of tour dates including gigs in Glasgow, Manchester, Paris, Amsterdam, Barcelona, and New York.

Live reviews

Back together and ready to perform Nowhere in full Ride split this effectively acting as their own support. The first set opens with an epic Leave Them All Behind lasting close on 15 minutes. The sound is superb and they sound like a band who have played together continuously for 25 years not one who have had a hiatus. Gardener and Bell play off each other while Colbert's drumming sets the pace with Queralt's bass. From this it's straight into Like A Daydream and a trawl through the non Nowhere backcatalogue, which sounds surprisingly fresh and actually better than I remember it sounding on record - making me want to go back and revisit it a bit more. Gardener's voice is strong and the guitar work, as you would expect, superb.

A brief intermission and change of backdrop to the iconic cover and it's straight to Nowhere. What we get is a stunning interpretation of the album. Given there's not a weak track on the album it makes for a blissful 45 to 50 minutes. Nowhere finished we cut into Taste, Here And Now and Nowhere before a blistering encore of the classics Drive Blind and Chelsea Girl. Drive Blind featuring an extraordinary breakdown in the middle in a squall of guitars and feedback with dramatic lighting - it sounds and feels like the soundtrack to the end of the world.

This sounds and feels like a band relaxed and at the top of their game.

While it was common in the day to lump Ride in with other members of the pre-Oasis Britpop scene like The Stone Roses or Slowdive, this Oxford quartet seemed happy to do their own thing. Embracing a less-immediate, more sprawling art rock sound that gave them more in common with 4AD bands, Ride were just as likely to kick into 15 minutes of swirling, psychedelic guitars as anything.

Seeing Ride live is to realize that guitarist Mark Gardener and bassist Andy Bell are not only gifted musicians, but also able to blend their voices in deceptively smooth harmonies. The band plays louder than one might expect from their airier sound on record, although for fans of shoegaze that's nothing unexpected. The best part of seeing Ride in concert is hearing how songs like “Seagull”, “Vapour Trail”, or especially “Leave Them All Behind” lend themselves to extended jams and sprawling, acid-drenched guitar workouts. In fact, at times they almost edge into the hippest prog rock ever played.

There's really no frills to how Ride present themselves on stage; the band makes it clear that their performance is all about the music. Don't expect drama, don't expect fog machines or pyrotechnics. When you're as great as Ride, the music and performance stands on its own merit.

British shoe gazing pioneers Ride have delighted fans by announcing a reformation to collate their classic four albums into a 'greatest hits' setlist of sorts. They were always known as pioneers of their time and they weren't afraid to take their sound in a different direction to the Britpop boom that became synonymous with the 90's.

The comeback gigs have been attended by a huge range of fans, those who have eagerly awaited the return after supporting the group during their heyday and those who are late arrivals to the band's music. Either way, the reaction is one of universal adoration as the group step onstage and begin a psychedelic setlist featuring classics including 'Twisterella' and 'Leave Them All Behind'. The band thanks the audience for their support and explains they were an integral part of the reformation. By the final tones of 'Like A Daydream' and 'Chelsea Girl' everybody inside is incredibly glad to have Ride back together and feeling as though a decade had been lost waiting for the reform.

When i heard Ride was coming to Minneapolis, I was skeptical, why flyover country? When I heard which venue I knew I had to go. Mill City Nights is a small, but the sound is great. The opening band Canadian's Besnard Lakes was an atmospheric wandering which used lots of fog and harmonies to wash into the crowd.

If Besnard Lakes made the crowd smile while rocking back and forth, Ride blew those smiles to the back of the hall. Digging into all of their music history Ride, played a little something from every release.

Ride let a wall of sound blast into everyone on the floor where you could not only hear the excellent songs but feel them.

I figured it would be good, I left feeling it was great, a top 5 concert.

Such an amazing show, loved hearing Vapour Trail, and Today live. Like a Daydream, Sennen, Chelsea Girl, and Dreams Burn Down were also highlights for me, really the whole concert. Seagull may have been the best song of the show, I like the song, but it was a different level live. One final note, Drive Blind was the single loudest song I have ever heard, it was so loud and there was so much sound with feedback and reverberations, it was almost like it was silent, crazy. Highly, highly recommend getting to see Ride live whenever you can!!

Absolutely brilliant gig shame about the bar.

I was not sure what to expect but they nailed it. More than once I was transported else where on a wall noise that shimmered and dazzled with beautiful textures and tones.

The only downside was that I missed the first couple of songs of the second set due to the bar not being able to cope with the volume of customers.

It was worth the the 300 mile round trip!

Opened with Leave Them All Behind and continued with mostly all their strong songs from their EPs and first two albums. Loz drumming was spot on and Andy and Mark showed their guitar work has never been better. Sound was boomy upstairs but better view. No one should miss this tour.

Small personal venue - it was awesome seeing Ride in such an intimate setting. Hadn't seen them in over 25 years but unlike most bands that reunite, they don't seem to have missed a beat. Great mixture of classics with the new stuff.

Fantastic show from start to finish. Great energy and they just sounded tight throughout. Highly recommend seeing them.

They can get very heavy at times, so bring earplugs and you'll be fine.

I cannot wait to see them again

Eric Schlange

First launched in 2019, Tour de Zwift has become the biggest annual tour on the platform – a celebration of discovery across all Zwift worlds.

This year’s tour has just been announced. Beginning January 10, it consists of eight stages, and each stage has multiple route options for cyclists.

So grab a friend and join the biggest party of the year! Here’s everything riders need to know about this year’s TdZ.

*Some riders will race the stages, while others will treat them social rides. Events do not count for ranking points on ZwiftPower, but everyone is free to go as easy or push as hard as they’d like. Just have fun!

This has been the tour I dreamt of doing. Along the route, the Rocky Mountaineer was the best in service! They know how to wow the client and are good at it. I have glowing accolades for them. Everything in Alberta was amazing. Jasper, Lake Louise, Banff ... all those stops were incredible. We will arrive home on Saturday at about 3 pm. While there’s no place like home, our journey with Canada Rail Vacations was where it all began in September 2017. Thank you Martin, for operating a tour company that fit our needs....and then some. You gave us options to customize this trip to meet our wishes. Thanks to your staff who know their stuff and coddled me along the way, especially Spencer. And a huge shout out to our Tour Guide Julian. Absolutely knowledgeable about the routes we took and of the trains going through the spiral tunnels. Julian really made those four days of private tours so worth it for us. You have in us four happy clients who will now recommend Canada Rail Vacations to others, plus we have amazing memories. Thanks Martin! Lori, Brian, Ruby and Rudy, Virginia, USA (The Canadian Adventurer)
We just returned home from our recent trans-Canada train adventure and wanted to pass along our thoughts on the holiday. We arrived in Vancouver and stayed at the Fairmont, which was lovely. All of the Fairmont accommodations were outstanding. The Rocky Mountaineer was exceptional! The aesthetic, the staff, the food... everything was amazing. The staff in particular on the train were outstanding, I was so touched, as a vegan they went out of their way to accommodate me and went so far above and beyond (I never would imagine that level of service!). We were also so pleasantly surprised by the Delta Kamloops, our room was gorgeous and the location was great. Of course, the scenery in Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper was incredible, and we so often found ourselves speechless. Both of our tours in Banff and Lake Louise with Julian were outstanding. He was so knowledgeable and kept us entertained every moment of the tour! All in all, an incredible experience from booking to the actual trip. Thank you for a memorable holiday! Stephanie, Hovan & Doris K., Toronto, Canada (The Canadian Adventurer)
Now safely back in Cyprus and settled in again after a great holiday with you in August. Big thanks to Canada Rail Vacations for leaving the excellent wine at the Sutton Place Hotel in Vancouver, it certainly dampened down the trail dust! Shame you couldn't join us to drink it! You have a great team from the ladies who sorted us out before we left the hotels in Vancouver and Banff, to the staff waving us off and those welcoming us at each stop. The entire trip was memorable on so many levels, but an understated highlight for me was standing at the water's edge of Emerald Lake in Yoho National Park, and gazing in wonder at the Walcott Quarry/Burgess Shale! I read about and studied the fossils but to see it in real life was awesome! Anthony, Cyprus (Rockies Circle Essentials)
Now that my wife and I have rested after our very enjoyable tour of Canada and are back into our normal routine we would not like the time to pass without passing on to Canada Rail staff our sincere thanks for making all the reservations and organizing the itinerary.  Suffice it to say that things went like clockwork obviously due in large part to the experienced and dedicated Canada Rail Vacations staff. We will happily refer you to any of our friends and acquaintances who are considering travelling in Canada and will look to you next time we choose to travel in Canada. Many thanks to all! Doug & Norma L, Farrer, Australia (The Canadian Trip of a Lifetime)
Thanks for helping make this a once-in-a-lifetime experience for my daughter and myself. We had many planned, and unplanned, adventures and have many memories. Cannot say enough wonderful things about the staff on both VIA and Rocky Mountaineer. There were some hiccups with scheduling but the graciousness of the staff was superb. Our hotels were very good and thanks for the special gift in Vancouver. We also used your suggestions for touring the city, spot on! Will most likely never tour Canada again as my husband and I toured from Toronto East, but I am recommending Canada Rail Vacations to my family and friends. Thanks again. Judith & Cameron C, Alabama, USA (The Canadian Adventurer)

Dolly Parton Makes Surprise Tour Announcement After Retiring in 2022

B ack in 2022, Dolly Parton revealed that even though she plans to continue to make new music, she has decided to stop touring for good.

"I do not think I will ever tour again, but I do know I'll do special shows here and there, now and then," she revealed while talking with Pollstar . "…It takes so much time and energy," Parton added when talking about "full-blown tours."

The news broke the hearts of her biggest fans who had hoped they might be able to see her perform at least one more time live. But it's understandable.

Well, now, they are getting that wish, sort of.

In a report from Variety, Parton and her team have announced “Dolly Parton’s Threads: My Songs in Symphony."

The shows will showcase a new “multimedia symphonic story-telling experience,” which includes much of Parton's discography and the stories behind each song, told by Dolly herself.

As Variety reports, the shows in feature “Dolly’s songs and the stories behind them in an innovative multimedia symphonic experience featuring Dolly on screen, leading audiences in a visual-musical journey of her songs, her life and her stories.”

This makes it possible for Parton to tour her music without leaving home for an extended period of time.

"I'm just so excited to share my songs and the stories behind them in this beautiful new way," Parton told Variety in a statement. "‘Threads: My Songs in Symphony'is like a journey through the heartstrings of my life. I hope we can take it far and wide to symphony orchestras everywhere."

The tour is set to begin on March 20, 2025 at the Nashville Symphony.

Co-producer of the tour Schirmer Theatrical president Robert Thompson told Variety, partnering with the country music icon on this project "is an honor."

"Bringing the genius, music, life and legacy of Dolly Parton to symphonic audiences is an honor for us. Audiences will hear for the first time Dolly's songs performed by orchestras worldwide in this innovative symphonic storytelling experience."

This isn't the only thing on Parton's plate either.

She and her sister, Rachel have a cookbook coming out in September.

“Well, what's cookin', good lookin'? It's our new cookbook,” Parton shared with her followers. “I wrote this book with my sister, Rachel, who might just be the best cook I know.”

And fans are excited for it. “I love getting new recipes!!! Love you, Dolly.”

Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire

Her Majesty invites you to experience the fantasy of the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire. Thirty-five acres of jousting knights and royal delights await as hundreds of colorfully-costumed characters breathe mirth and merriement into a 16th century English village.

Get ready to live the excitement and adventure and make your visit an unforgettable experience. Musical, stunt and theatrical performances, magic acts and comical mud beggars are just a few of the many daily shows! Immerse yourself in the days of Merrie Olde England, steeped in the allure of bygone days and knights!

Each weekend throughout the Faire season will showcase an exciting and unique theme that offers a different experience every time.

2024 Scenario

Choose. Your. Guild.  It’s 1589, and England is victorious! The Spanish Armada has been defeated, and the treasure fleet captured. Now, laden with new riches, Queen Elizabeth is making her way to the Shire of Mount Hope for a victory celebration! Intent on investing the spoils of war in her people, Her Most Gracious Majesty will offer Mount Hope’s guilds the opportunity to lobby her for a share through a Tournament of Guilds!

Will you support the industrious and shrewd Merchants Guild? The cunning and sly Thieves Guild? Or the dutiful and loyal Civics Guild? Perhaps you fancy yourself a connoisseur of artisan food, beverage, or wares and support the Crafts Guild. On the other hand, you could be a mercurial and merry-making fan of the Revels Guild. Whichever guild you choose, fly their banners high and wear their colors proudly. In the process, you can earn them points and help them reap the rewards of the Queen’s generosity! Hopefully the competitive spirit remains friendly…

So much shopping, so little time! Having over 100 unique merchants to visit during an already packed Faire day makes it difficult to see and do everything in one day. The independent merchants each operate their own business upon the Shire and look forward to bantering and bartering with Faire visitors. Demonstrations by many merchants show guests rarely seen art forms before their very eyes.

Workshops and Demonstrations

Step back in time at the Shire, which is filled to the brim with immersive experiences!

Her Majesty’s Kitchens cook up an endless array of savory 16th century foods and delicious traditional favorites sure to satisfy the heartiest of appetites.

Take a look inside Graceland, the Memphis mansion that Elvis Presley called home. His granddaughter is fighting a forced sale.

  • Graceland is the 13.8-acre estate in Memphis, Tennessee, that Elvis Presley once called home.
  • The King of Rock 'n' Roll lived in the house from 1957 until his death in 1977.
  • Now, Presley's granddaughter is fighting to stop an auction of the estate.

It's been 47 years since Elvis Presley died, but legions of fans still flock to Memphis, Tennessee, to see the sprawling Graceland estate the star once called home.

ride in tours 2022

Per the official Graceland website , Presley lived in the mansion from 1957 until his death in 1977. Located off a highway that was renamed Elvis Presley Boulevard in 1971, the two-story residence sits on 13.8 acres of land.

Since 1982, Graceland has operated as a museum dedicated to the star. Ticket packages offer access to the mansion, with prices for adults starting at $82. According to the website , it has hosted over 20 million visitors from across the globe.

On May 19, 2024, a public notice announced the foreclosure sale of the property, claiming that Promenade Trust — which operates Graceland — owes Naussany Investments and Private Lending $3.8 million to repay a loan that Presley's late daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, took out in May 2018.

However, Lisa Marie's daughter, the actor Riley Keough, filed a lawsuit to prevent the auction of the estate, alleging that the signatures on the loan documents were forged.

A temporary restraining order was granted, delaying the auction. An injunction hearing is scheduled for May 22, per USA Today .

Also known as the "King of Rock 'n' Roll," Presley was a cultural icon of the 20th century.

Presley was born on January 8, 1935, in Mississippi. Heavily influenced by the country, gospel, and blues music that he listened to as a child, Presley started his singing career in 1954.

With hits such as "Hound Dog" and "Can't Help Falling in Love with You," he would go on to become one of the most successful performers of all time, with 14 Grammy nominations and millions of records sold, per the Recording Academy .

On August 16, 1977, Presley collapsed in his Graceland home and was found unconscious by his girlfriend, Ginger Alden. She documented the moment she found him on the master bathroom floor in her 2014 memoir, The Mirror reported.

According to The New York Times , coroners pronounced him dead on the same day, with the official cause of death attributed to heart failure. He was 42 years old.

Presley purchased the Graceland estate in 1957 for $102,500.

The Colonial Revival-style mansion, which was built in 1939, has eight bedrooms and four bathrooms, The Guardian reported after a tour of the house. About half of the 23 rooms in the house are off-limits to visitors, including the entire second floor — where the star's master suite is located.

According to the Graceland website , visitors are only allowed access to common spaces, including the living room, the kitchen, and the TV room. Spanning 17,552 square feet, the sprawling residence has five sets of staircases, three fireplaces, and a kidney-shaped swimming pool.

Presley frequently had friends and family over at the mansion, including an entourage of confidants and associates the media dubbed the " Memphis Mafia ." Some members of the group were childhood friends of Presley's, including his bodyguards Red and Sonny West.

In 2006, Graceland was designated a National Historic Landmark, per the National Park Service .

One of the most iconic features of Graceland is the entrance gate. Designed to resemble a musical score, there are figures on the gate depicting the star with his guitar.

ride in tours 2022

According to the museum's website , Presley had the gate — which cost $1,339 — installed shortly after he purchased the residence. Throngs of fans would wait by the gate in hopes of catching a glimpse of their idol. Occasionally, he would also sign autographs for them through the gate.

"Back in the day, if you were ever at the gates of Graceland and you saw the cars around the front of the mansion, that meant Elvis was home," Angie Marchese — the Graceland archivist — told The Daily Express .

The brick wall that surrounds the estate is also popular with fans, the website states. Over the years, it has been covered in personal messages that fans have left in memory of their idol.

The interiors of Graceland are lavishly decorated. The living area has a custom-built 15-foot sofa and a 10-foot coffee table.

The sofa was originally a metallic blue, but Presley later had it reupholstered in white — which is what it still looks like today, per the Graceland website . He added the stained-glass windows in 1974 and chose to use a peacock design, which symbolizes eternal life and resurrection in ancient Christianity.

The dining room, which has black marble flooring in the center, was a place for Presley and his friends to gather.

"Elvis sat at the head of the table because it did give him one of the best views of the TV that's over to the corner on the right," Marchese said during a 2020 Instagram Live on the estate's official account .

She added that there was also a button under the table where they could call the kitchen for more food.

One of the most famous rooms in Graceland is the Jungle Room.

ride in tours 2022

The room's name only came about after the mansion opened to the public.

Presley personally picked out the Polynesian-inspired furniture because it reminded him of Hawaii, which was his favorite holiday spot, per the museum's website . He installed a waterfall and covered the room with plants to complete the look.

A shag carpet covers both the floor and the ceiling, per the website. This soundproofed the room and allowed Presley to turn the space into a makeshift recording studio. Presley recorded some of the songs on his album "From Elvis Presley Boulevard, Memphis, Tennessee," here.

The pool room features fabric-lined walls and ceiling, which took 10 days to install.

ride in tours 2022

The Graceland website states that Presley worked with a designer, Bill Eubanks, to develop the room's concept.

A crew of three was needed to cut and attach 350 to 400 yards of cotton fabric strips to the walls and ceiling.

Presley died upstairs in his master suite, and it has been preserved exactly as he left it.

ride in tours 2022

"It looks as if he just got up and left," Marchese said during the 2020 Instagram Live. "The record on the record player is the last record he listened to. There's a styrofoam cup that sits on a bookshelf."

Towards the end of his life, Presley spent much of his time holed up in his bedroom upstairs, especially if he was "in pyjamas or unshaven," Alden told The Daily Express .

The TV room, which is designed in a navy, white, and yellow color scheme, has three television sets.

ride in tours 2022

Inspired by US President Lyndon Johnson, who liked to watch three news broadcasts simultaneously, Presley also wanted three television sets in his TV room, per the official Graceland website .

Although the upper floor remains off-limits, Presley's office desk has been brought down and turned into an exhibit for fans to see.

ride in tours 2022

Presley's record label, RCA, gave him the desk as a gift for selling one million copies of the "Blue Hawaii" soundtrack, Marchese told The Daily Express .

Presley's gold records are on display in the Hall of Gold in the Trophy Building.

ride in tours 2022

Presley constructed a new wing in the mansion in the mid-1960s to store a slot car track, as stated in Graceland's National Historic Landmark Nomination application .

Connected to the main house via a sheltered walkway, the estate renamed the new wing the "Trophy Building" and remodeled it to house his awards.

The estate updated the building in 2017 to feature an exhibit that focuses on Presley's personal life and his family, per the Graceland website . Some items on display include his wedding outfit, family photos, and his daughter's childhood toys.

Presley enjoyed playing racquetball. After he died, the racquetball building was transformed into an additional trophy hall for a few years.

ride in tours 2022

The entire room was filled with posthumous awards and included a display of his famous jumpsuits, per the museum's website . In 2017, the racquetball court was restored to its original condition and all the trophies were moved into a new exhibit.

Presley has been laid to rest alongside his parents on the grounds of the Graceland estate, in the Meditation Garden.

ride in tours 2022

Elvis Week, which commemorates the anniversary of Presley's death, takes place between August 9 and August 17, per the museum's website .

Every year, fans from around the world flock to Graceland to leave flowers at his grave. The estate hosts around 500,000 visitors every year.

Presley's only daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, is also buried in Graceland, next to her late son Benjamin Keough and close to her father.

ride in tours 2022

Lisa Marie Presley died on January 12, 2023, at 54. The announcement of her death came hours after her mother, Priscilla Presley, confirmed she had been rushed to the hospital.

In an August 2022 essay she wrote for People Magazine , Lisa Marie spoke about grief and how she was "destroyed" by her son Benjamin Keough's death. She also blamed herself "every single day."

Keough died by suicide in July 2020 , at 27, and was buried at Graceland.

In January 2023, a representative for Riley Keough, Lisa Marie's eldest daughter, confirmed in a statement to BI that her mother would be buried next to her son.

Elvis Presley saw a resurgence in popularity in 2022 when the Baz Luhrmann movie, "Elvis," starring Austin Butler and Tom Hanks, came out in theaters.

ride in tours 2022

Members of the cast showed up at Graceland for the Memphis premiere of the film on June 12, 2022, per the daily Memphis newspaper The Commercial Appeal .

A press junket to promote the film was also in the screening, including a GMA interview with Tom Hanks and Austin Butler recorded in the Jungle room.

May 22, 2024: This story has been updated to reflect details of the ongoing lawsuit regarding the property's foreclosure.

Taylor Swift can do it with a broken mic.

The 34-year-old pop songstress handled a sound and wardrobe malfunction like a pro over the weekend, boldly untying her entire dress onstage as she attempted to rectify a technical difficulty. In a video shared on social media, Swift is seen on night three of her Eras Tour stop at Friends Arena in Stokholm, Sweden, messing with a mic pack attached to the back of her costume during the surprise songs section of her show.

After telling fans that the device had "come undone," Swift jokingly asked the audience to "just talk amongst yourselves" for a moment. She then quickly moved to another part of he stage and took a seat at her piano while fully opening her blue wrap dress for better access to the mic pack. Underneath, Swift was still wearing her two piece costume from "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart," which came right before the surprise songs in her setlist.

Eventually, a crew member came to Swift's aid to help get the situation under control. The "Fortnight" singer did a silly little dance as she re-attached her costume and went on with the show.

"Stockholm!!!! Thank you for being the most generous, excitable, magical crowds, and for breaking the all time attendance record for the stadium all 3 nights," Swift wrote on Instagram after the show. "Can’t believe this was our first time playing in Sweden - but it won’t be our last…"

Swift kicked off her revamped Eras Tour earlier this month in Paris after dropping her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department , and adding an entirely new section to her live show. Following her three-night run in Stockholm, Swift is set to perform next in Lisbon, Portugal, on Friday and Saturday.

This after the performer enjoyed a romantic getaway with her beau  Travis Kelce  in Lake Como, Italy. The duo were seen at one point traveling via boat -- and sharing a kiss -- while heading to have dinner at a popular eatery.

Kelce had previously been  on hand  to support Swift at one of her shows in Paris, seeing her perform two new songs that are rumored to be about him for the first time.

"I don't know if they're just getting better or if I just keep forgetting how they are,"  Kelce said  of the concert on his  New Heights  podcast last week. "It was electric."

"It just looks like they're having so much fun up there and they're absolutely killing it," he added of the production. "They're putting on a show that you won't get anywhere else."

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end noted that he plans to be "all over the world" the rest of the summer, prompting many to believe that he may pop up at Swift's other upcoming European concerts.

"It's like the yin to my yang," he said. "Football, it keeps me  locked in to Kansas City  during the season and I just gotta fly around and have some fun in the offseason."

Things are going so well between the pair that  a source told ET  that "their loved ones see an engagement coming sooner than later."

"They make a great match," the source added. "There's no question about that."

If Billie Eilish ‘s “ Hit Me Hard and Soft ” served as your personal soundtrack over the weekend and you’re looking to experience her newest songs in person, you’re in luck. The 22 year-old singer will embark on a world tour in support of her third studio album this fall — and tickets are still available on a wide array of resale sites such as Stubhub , VividSeats , SeatGeek and Ticketmaster .

Popular on Variety

Eilish’s third studio album, co-written and produced by her brother and longtime collaborator Finneas , was met with criticial acclaim upon its release last weekend. In his review of the album, Variety music editor Chris Willman wrote that Eilish has kept up her “winning streak with the surprising and intimate” album, writing that “parts of [the album] are completely transparent in their blatant themes and melodies, and parts are more mysterious and elusive… which all contributes to it feeling like a much fuller meal than the 10-song track list would indicate.”

Purchase tickets to Eilish’s “Hit Me Hard and Soft” world tour below, and in the meantime buy “Hit Me Hard and Soft” on vinyl here.
