Eligibility criteria, terms and conditions, fees and charges apply

Get premium frequent flyer perks with up to 100,000 bonus Qantas Points, airport lounge passes and overseas travel insurance.

  • Earn 70,000 bonus Qantas Points when you spend at least $3,000 on eligible purchases within the first 3 months from card approval and 30,000 bonus points if you haven’t earned Qantas Points with a credit card in the last 12 months.
  • $349 annual fee for the first year ($399 p.a. thereafter)
  • 0% p.a. on balance transfers for the first 12 months with 2% BT fee
  • Minimum credit limit: $6,000 | Purchase rate: 19.99% p.a.

All Qantas Premier Credit Cards earn Qantas Points per $1 on eligible spending – which includes most everyday purchases. They earn points at different rates and also have different annual fees and features.

Qantas Premier Everyday

The Qantas Premier Everyday is an entry-level frequent flyer card with a relatively competitive $99 annual fee.

It has an ongoing earn rate of 0.75 Qantas Points per $1 on domestic purchases up to $3,000 per statement period, and 0.4 Qantas Points per $1 after that. It also offers 1 additional Qantas Point per $1 for eligible spending with Qantas and complimentary travel insurance.

The Qantas Premier Platinum earns 1 Qantas Point per $1 on most eligible spending, with 1 additional point for eligible Qantas spending.

Its perks include complimentary airport lounge invitations and discounted companion fare offers that can save you up to 20% on eligible domestic flights. Outside of promotions, it has a $399 annual fee.

Qantas Premier Titanium

The Qantas Premier Titanium is an exclusive, metal credit card that earns 1.25 Qantas Points per $1 on eligible spending (capped at $12,500 a month for spending in Australia). It also earns 2 additional Qantas Points per $1 on spending with Qantas.

Perks with top-tier credit card include 20% bonus Status Credits on eligible flights, a 10% discount on eligible Qantas flights twice a year, Qantas First Lounge invitations and complimentary travel insurance. It has a $1,200 annual fee.

Qantas Travel Money Card

Picture not described

The Qantas Travel Money Card is a prepaid multi-currency Mastercard. This means you can add your own Australian money to the card, then convert it into one of 10 supported currencies – including US and Canadian dollars, Thai baht, Euros and Great British pounds.

This set-up means you can lock in currency exchange rates and save on foreign transaction fees. You also earn 1.5 Qantas Points for every equivalent AUD$1 spent in a foreign currency and 1 point per $4 spent in AUD.

Free Qantas Frequent Flyer membership offer

If you're not a member of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program, getting a Qantas Money card gives you a way to sign-up without paying the usual $99.50 joining fee.

Qantas Points on your everyday spending

All Qantas Premier Credit Cards earn Qantas Points per $1 on eligible purchases. This covers most everyday spending, including groceries, petrol, dining out, entertainment tickets and travel bookings – with additional points for spending with Qantas.

What transactions don't earn points?

  • Bank fees and charges (such as ATM fees)
  • Cash advances
  • BPAY payments
  • Payments to other Citi accounts
  • Foreign currency purchases
  • Transactions made in operating a business
  • Government-related transactions (such as paying the ATO)

Mobile payments

You can add any Qantas Money credit card to Apple Pay and Google Pay and make payments straight from your compatible device.

Qantas Money app

The Qantas Money app lets you manage your cards from anywhere, with features including a quick-view of your balance, the ability to temporarily lock your card and spending insights. You'll also get weekly offers for bonus Qantas Points.

Instalment plans

Statement Instalment Plans give you a way to pay off purchases over a set period of time, with a lower rate than the standard purchase rate on your Qantas Premier credit card. This can make bigger purchases seem more manageable because you'll typically pay the same amount off the instalment each month.

You can apply for a Qantas Premier credit card online in around 10 minutes. But before you apply, you'll need to meet the card's eligibility criteria. These are different for each card, but here's what to look for:

  • Income. The Qantas Premier Everyday and Qantas Premier Platinum have a minimum income of $35,000 per year. The Qantas Premier Titanium requires a minimum income of $200,000 per year.
  • Residential status. You must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident with an Australian mobile phone number.
  • Qantas Frequent Flyer member. This offer is only available to Qantas Frequent Flyer members but you can get a complimentary membership when you apply.
  • New customer. You'll need to be a new Qantas Premier credit card customer to get introductory bonus points and other offers.
  • Credit history. You must have a good credit rating.
  • Age. You must be at least 18 years or older.

Information and documents you need to apply

  • Personal information. This includes your name, phone number, email address, residential address and a valid form of ID, such as your driver's licence number.
  • Employment. This includes your current job, your employer's contact information or your accountant's details if you're self-employed. You'll also need to provide details of any savings.
  • Debts and liabilities. You need to provide information about your ongoing expenses, such as rent or mortgage payments, your weekly food budget, loan repayments and any existing credit card debts.

What happens after you apply?

Qantas Money will send you a confirmation email after you submit your application – it should come within 60 seconds. If your application is approved, you should get your card within 3-5 working days.

Can I withdraw money with a Qantas Premier credit card?

Yes, you can use your Qantas Premier credit card to withdraw cash from most ATMs in Australia and around the world – but it will be processed as a cash advance transaction. This means you'll pay a cash advance fee and be charged interest straight away.

If you're withdrawing money overseas, an international transaction fee will also apply. You can avoid cash advance costs by using the Qantas Travel Money Card, or any debit card or credit card with 0% foreign transaction fees.

What bank does Qantas Money use for its cards?

How do i pay my qantas premier credit card bill.

  • BPAY. The Biller Code is 266536 and the Reference is your 16-digit card number.
  • Automatic payments. Qantas Money offers Easi-Pay direct debits, with a choice of paying the minimum amount due or the total closing balance.
  • Australia Post. Take your Qantas Premier credit card to a Bank@Post outlet and pay with cash, EFTPOS or a cheque.

Your monthly statement will also show full details of your repayment options and the amount owed.

Do you still keep your agreement with balance transfer’s interest-free period if you use the credit card?

Avatar

Thank you for getting in touch with Finder.

If you’re pertaining to having a credit card with a promotional balance transfer offer and using the credit card for purchases, you may still have the 45 or 55 days interest-free period on your purchases and the balance on BT will still be on its promotional period. You may use ou guide on managing purchases on a balance transfer credit card

I hope this helps.

Thank you and have a wonderful day!

Cheers, Jeni

Qantas Travel Money Card Review

While it’s straightforward to obtain foreign currency overseas, a quick trip to an ATM, or a currency exchange bureau, can leave you at the mercy of hidden fees and exchange rates. This is when a travel money card can be your friend. Travel money cards allow you to load up on foreign currency online wherever you are, so you can enjoy your holiday without the worry of sky-high exchange rates and fees.

What is the Qantas Travel Money card?

What can I use Qantas Money for?

You can load up to ten foreign currencies onto the Qantas Travel Money card: AED , CAD , EUR , GBP , HKD , JPY ,  SGD , THB and USD . You can also lock in exchange rates on these currencies before you fly, to avoid currency fluctuations.

Foreign currency exchange rates vary from time to time. Cardholders benefit from locked in rates that apply when you make a transaction or incur a fee in a currency loaded on your card.

Travellers should note that although the “Credit” button is used when making a purchase or a withdrawal at an ATM, this card is not a line of credit. The card cannot go into a negative balance.
