With a career spanning over two decades, Puddle of Mudd has cemented themselves as a prominent force in the world of rock music. Formed in 1991, multi-platinum-selling rock band, Puddle of Mudd has sold over seven million albums worldwide and has had a string of chart-topping hits, including "Blurry," "She Hates Me," "Psycho," "Famous," "Drift and Die," and "Control."

Puddle of Mudd's lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, Wes Scantlin, has been the driving force behind the band's success since the band's inception. With his distinctive vocals and songwriting style, Scantlin has helped to define the band's sound and create some of the most memorable rock hits of the past two decades.

Shortly after being discovered and signed by Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst, Puddle of Mudd released their major-label debut album, Come Clean , on August 28, 2001. Come Clean spawned the singles "Blurry," "Control," "Drift & Die" and "She Hates Me." These hits propelled Puddle of Mudd to reach the number 5 slot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This success led to the band venturing out on a full-scale European and American tour, hitting the road with Linkin Park, Stone Temple Pilots, and Staind. Come Clean reached triple platinum status in January of 2003.

Puddle of Mudd's subsequent albums, Life on Display (2003), Famous (2007), and Vol. 4: Songs in the Key of Love and Hate (2009), solidified their place in the rock pantheon. The band also released an album of cover songs, entitled Re: (disc)overed , in 2011.

Puddle of Mudd's 2019 album release, Welcome To Galvania , was produced by Cameron Webb (Alkaline Trio, Disturbed, Motorhead). "Uh Oh", the first single off of Welcome To Galvania , reached the number 9 position on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Chart.

Puddle of Mudd continues to evolve and inspire fans with their music, with the release of their seventh studio album, Ubiquitous . The album was released on September 8th, 2023 via Pavement Entertainment.

With Wes Scantlin at the helm, Ubiquitous promises to showcase the signature hard-hitting sound that Puddle of Mudd is known for, as well as a fresh take on their unique style.

Puddle of Mudd's music has been a constant presence in the rock scene for over two decades, and the band's latest album release is a testament to their longevity and continued relevance in the music world. Puddle of Mudd is ready to rock the airwaves once again!

Charlie Colin, bassist and founding member of Train, dies at 58

Charlie Colin

Charlie Colin, a founding member of the group Train, has died at the age of 58 after he slipped and fell in the shower while house-sitting for a friend in Brussels, Belgium.

While circumstances around his death are scarce,  sources told TMZ  that no one found Colin until his friends returned home from their trip five days ago. His sister confirmed his passing to  Variety .

Colin was one of the original members of Train, which initially consisted of Pat Monahan, Rob Hotchkiss, Scott Underwood and Jimmy Stafford.

As bassist for the band, Colin contributed to the group’s first three albums: 1999’s eponymous debut, 2001’s “Drops of Jupiter” and “My Private Nation.” He and the band had breakthrough success as a quintet with the 2001 hit “Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me),” which hit No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and won the Grammy for best rock song and best instrumental arrangement accompanying vocalist(s).

Originally from Newport Beach, CA, the musician initially met fellow Train founding member Hotchkiss when he was in the seventh grade, and the two separately went on to attend Berklee School of Music where Colin studied jazz composition guitar. After moving to Los Angeles, Hotchkiss extended an invitation to Colin to join one of his bands, which had signed a deal with PolyGram Records.

Colin, Hotchkiss and Stafford formed the group Apostles before breaking up. After traveling the world, Colin returned Stateside and joined the newly formed Train around 1996. Alongside Train, he toured the world and had mainstream success before leaving the band in 2003 due to substance abuse.

“There was a lot of things that led to me leaving, but it really escalated into it,” Colin said in a 2023 interview with  Delphine’s Circle . “We never took a break. We drove our tour bus into the parking lot of the recording studio for our second and third record. In Philadelphia, we made our one-and-a-half record… We just never stopped. It’s kind of one those things where you feel like this is too good to be true. Most bands have a lifespan of a few years.”

In the time since, Colin played with hard rock bands including Slipknot and Puddle of Mudd, and reunited with Hotchkiss in 2015 to form the band Painbirds alongside Tom Luce. In 2017, Colin formed the Side Deal with Sugar Ray’s Stan Frazier and the PawnShop Kings’ Joel and Scott Owen.

At the time of his death, he served as musical director for the Newport Beach Film Festival per his social media profiles.

A founding member of the pop-rock band Train is dead at age 58, according to a new report from TMZ .

Charlie Colin, a bassist for the Grammy-winning music group for a decade, died after slipping and falling in a shower in Brussels, Belgium. Colin’s mother told TMZ that the accident occurred while he was house-sitting for a friend; his body was discovered when his friend returned from a trip five days ago.

Colin’s sister confirmed his death to Variety .

Colin was living in Brussels at the time, teaching a music master class at a conservatory, his mother told TMZ. He was also reportedly working on music for a film and served as musical director for the Newport Beach Film Festival.

Colin formed Train in the ‘90s with singer Pat Monahan and fellow founding members Rob Hotchkiss, Jimmy Stafford and Scott Underwood. Colin played bass on Train’s first three albums, including “Meet Virginia” and the Grammy-winning smash hit “Drops of Jupiter.”

Colin left the group in 2003 due to substance abuse, according to Variety. He later performed with bands like Slipknot and Puddle of Mudd, plus formed the band Painbirds (with Hotchkiss) and Side Deal (with Sugar Ray’s Stan Frazier and the PawnShop Kings’ Joel and Scott Owen).

Train has not yet commented on Colin’s death.

The band, also known for songs like “Hey Soul Sister,” “Marry Me” and “Drive By,” begins its summer tour next month with four concerts scheduled in Upstate New York . Train will perform July 19 at the Artpark in Lewiston and three shows with REO Speedwagon on July 23 at the Broadview Stage at SPAC (Saratoga Performing Arts Center), July 24 at the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, and July 31 at the Empower FCU Amphitheater in Syracuse.
