On The Run Tour: Beyonce and Jay Z

Watch On The Run Tour: Beyonce and Jay Z

  • 8.0   (504)

On The Run Tour: Beyonce and Jay Z is a concert film released by HBO in 2014, showcasing the successful collaboration between two of the biggest names in the music industry: Beyonce and Jay Z. The film revolves around the titular On The Run Tour, a worldwide tour the couple embarked on in promotion of their respective albums, Beyonce's eponymous album and Jay Z's Magna Carta Holy Grail. The tour spanned over six weeks throughout North America and Europe, and culminated with two shows at the Stade de France in Paris.

The concert film captures the energy and grandeur of the tour, showcasing Beyonce and Jay Z's dynamic stage presence and impressive singing and rapping abilities. The film is a combination of concerts from various cities, giving a glimpse of the variety of styles and performances that the power couple delivered each night.

The concert opens with the song 'Bonjour' and progresses into other high-energy hits, such as 'Crazy In Love' and 'Show Me What You Got.' The setlist features a mix of both the couple's individual hits as well as collaborations they have done together over the years. The performances are enhanced by impressive stage production, including elaborate sets, lighting, and pyrotechnics.

The film also features documentary-style vignettes between the concerts, giving a behind-the-scenes look at the couple's personal lives and the effort that went into putting together the tour. These vignettes provide an intimate look at the couple as they share private moments with each other and with their young daughter, Blue Ivy.

The concert film does not shy away from the controversies surrounding the couple at the time, such as rumors of marital issues and Jay Z's altercation with Beyonce's sister, Solange. However, these issues are not the focus of the film, and instead, the emphasis is on the couple's performance and their undeniable charisma on stage.

On The Run Tour: Beyonce and Jay Z received critical acclaim upon its release and became one of the highest-grossing tours of all time. With its combination of high-energy performances, impressive production, and intimate moments, the film serves as a testament to the couple's artistic and personal partnership.

In conclusion, On The Run Tour: Beyonce and Jay Z is a must-watch for fans of the couple's music, as well as anyone looking for an engaging and visually stunning concert film. The film expertly captures the energy and charisma of the couple's live performances, while also providing an intimate glimpse into their personal lives. Overall, it's a celebration of two of the most talented and influential artists of our time.

Fleet Week sails into NYC with 2024 Parade of Ships. Watch extended video from Chopper 2 overhead

By Renee Anderson

Updated on: May 23, 2024 / 4:55 AM EDT / CBS New York

NEW YORK --  Fleet Week started Wednesday in New York City, kicking off with the 2024 Parade of Ships.

We have everything to know about how to watch the parade of ships  and   what else is happening this week .

When is Fleet Week 2024 in NYC?

Fleet Week starts on May 22 and ends May 28, the day after Memorial Day. This is the 36th annual celebration in the city, and the theme is "Fleet Week New York...Celebrating Those Who Serve."

It's a chance for people to meet U.S. Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen and check out the latest military technology.

"Fleet Week is about celebrating those who serve and recognizing the unyielding strength of our Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard team," Commander Navy Region Mid-Atlantic Rear Adm. Wesley McCall said in a statement. "As we come together to pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice during their service, we are reminded of the diverse and inclusive fighting force that is currently serving to protect national security and preserve our way of life. Our service members are excited for the opportunity to engage with the community and create lasting connections with the people of New York during this time-honored tradition."

Nearly 2,3000 service members are expected to participate this year, taking in the sights of New York City while taking part in ship tours, band concerts and other events.

How to watch the NYC Fleet Week Parade of Ships

CBS New York's John Elliott was live  with the U.S. Coast Guard on the water  for the Parade of Ships, and Tony Sadiku was  joined by the U.S. Navy Band at Pier 88 . Chopper 2 also flew overhead for a birds-eye-view of the procession.

What time did the Parade of Ships start?

Fleet Week kicks off with the Parade of Ships on Wednesday, May 22. The exact timing isn't released ahead of time, but last year's procession started around 8:45 a.m. and ended around 11 a.m.

Eight military vessels sailed into New York Harbor and then up the Hudson River. The voyage traveled past the Statue of Liberty and Battery Park in Lower Manhattan, then past Hudson River Park on the West Side, cruising by the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum at Pier 86, before wrapping up just below the George Washington Bridge.

List of ships participating in NYC Fleet Week

  • USS Bataan from Norfolk, Virginia:  The USS Bataan (LHD 5), known as the "Big 5," is named in honor of the American and Filipino troops who fought on the Bataan Peninsula during World War II. The amphibious assault ship was commissioned on Sept. 20, 1997 and made its maiden voyage two years later in the Mediterranean.
  • FGS Baden-Württemberg from Germany: These ships from our NATO allies will be on tour for one day only Saturday morning at Pier 90 North.
  • FGS Frankfurt am Main from Germany
  • 4 U.S. Naval Academy YPs from Annapolis, Maryland: These four ships help train midshipmen from the Naval Academy for service on the water.
  • USCGC Sturgeon Bay from Bayonne, New Jersey: The USCGC Sturgeon Bay (WTGB 109) hails from Bayonne, New Jersey, where it helps vessels navigate the icy waters of the Hudson River . It also assists with search and rescue missions in ice-covered areas throughout New England.
  • USS Marinette from Mayport, Florida: The USS Marinette (LCS 25) was built in Marinette, Wisconsin and named after the city. It was  commissioned by the Navy just last fall.
  • USCGC Calhoun from Charleston, South Carolina: The USCGC Calhoun (WMSL 759), the Coast Guard's newest cutter ship , is described as the "largest and most technologically advanced ship in the Coast Guard."
  • USCGC Katherine Walker from Bayonne, New Jersey: The USCGC Katherine Walker (WLM-552) also helps with ice breaking missions in the area, specifically covering the Long Island Sound .

How to watch the 2024 U.S. Women’s Open

2153580798

Sarah Stier

We’re deep in the midst of major season in professional golf and, after a thrilling PGA Championship two weeks ago at Valhalla Golf Club, the women take center stage again this week for the 79th U.S. Women’s Open (May 30-June 2) at Lancaster Country Club in Pennsylvania.

In Gee Chun captured the 2015 Women’s Open the last time it was held at Lancaster, where there were record crowds for the week. They’re expected again. Allisen Corpuz is the defending champion after capturing last year’s Open at Pebble Beach by three shots over Charley Hull and Jiyai Shin. Nelly Korda, of course, remains the main attraction in the 156-player field as the World No. 1 tied for seventh place earlier this month in her bid to win six straight starts, then won her next start at the Mizuho Americas Open. Korda only has one top-10 finish in the U.S. Women’s Open in nine previous appearances.

RELATED: What does Nelly Korda owe to her sport?

But let’s get to the action. Specifically, how to watch it all this week.

NBC Sports is scheduled to provide 65 hours of live coverage on NBC, USA Network and its streaming service, Peacock. Each of the four days will begin on Peacock, before switching to USA Network on both Thursday and Friday. On Saturday, live coverage will switch from Peacock to NBC and on Sunday it’ll move from Peacock to USA Network to NBC for the conclusion. Featured group coverage is solely on Peacock and will showcase two groups in the morning and afternoon waves all four days.

Golf Channel and Peacock will provide preview and review shows by airing “Live From the U.S. Women’s Open.” The first is from 1 p.m.-5:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday on both platforms.

Mike Tirico will also host what is being billed as “Golden Hour” on Peacock only on Friday at 5 p.m. ET. The streaming experience, according to NBC, will feature golfers and Olympic-themed guests discussing Friday’s live coverage and the race the make the cut. They’ll also use it as a promotional tool looking ahead to the Paris Olympics later this summer.

Here’s a breakdown of all coverage.

2024 RBC Canadian Open Power Rankings: Top-10 Golfers To Watch

A s always with this article, my primary goal is to provide a place to start your research and preparation for the incoming week. I have carefully evaluated the field to project course fits and past results in team golf formats. This will give you a glimpse at how my brain operates when it comes to handicapping this unique event. Here are my top 10 players to watch out for and a brief write-up of my reasons why.

No. 10 - Nick Taylor

He just had to make the list. For goodness sake, the Canadian Open actually changed their logo to the infamous Nick Taylor silhouette from the playoff hole last year where he was able to drain a 72-foot Eagle putt to leave Tommy Fleetwood and those of us at home speechless. It was honestly one of the most memorable moments of last season as Taylor became the first Canadian to capture their national open since Pat Fletcher won in 1954.

Taylor has been a bit shaky in the form department recently but he's one of the many Canadian's this week vying for not only the nation's pride, but also trying to secure a spot on the upcoming Presidents Cup team which is held in the homeland this season. Taylor will undoubtedly have a lot of media obligations this week, but the fond memories should be flowing and he'll be welcomed back to this event as a hero. Take your victory lap sir, you earned it!

No. 9 - Alex Noren

Alex Noren's worst finish in his last eight PGA Tour starts is a T24! He's been a stalwart of consistency and has been playing remarkable golf, essentially turning back the clock to years ago when we first witnessed Noren on the PGA Tour. He was once again dominant on approach at Valhalla during the PGA Championship, finishing +5.8 strokes on Approach on securing a T12 result in Kentucky at the second Major of the year.

Noren is a stud around the greens which I do believe could be a factor this week. Despite McIlroy winning this event at -22 in 2019, the field average score are indicative that it actually played quite difficult on average. Noren has gained strokes ARG in 10 consecutive starts and it just feels like one of these weeks that he is going to gain four strokes putting and rattle off a win. His odds will be slightly protected by books not willing to get exposed in the T20 markets, but he's absolutely won of the more reliable players in the field you can roster in your DFS lineups and I would expect nothing different at the Canadian Open

No. 8 - Adam Scott

For the second consecutive week, Adam Scott checks in at the #8 position in my Power Rankings. Scott was able to rekindle some familiar Texas mojo last week in Fort Worth at the Colonial where it felt like he could make another run at a title in Texas for a good while. His positive strides and improvement with the putter are so good that I find it perplexing that he has not been able to marry a good week on the greens with his deadly Ballstriking that he is well known for.

Scott has been incredible sound with his wedges in his last 36 rounds played. I have him ranked 5th in the entire field in terms of approach play inside of 125 yards over his last 36 rounds played. On a golf course that barely inches past 7,000 yards, players are going to have a ton of opportunities to hit into these smallish, tricky greens with a wedge. Those who are able to stick it close consistently like Adam Scott has been doing recently, should have the best chance to succeed.

No. 7 - Sam Burns

It's been a tale of two seasons for Sam Burns in 2024. He started off hot, finishing inside the top-33 in his first six tournaments played with near wins at both The American Express and the WM Phoenix Open. Then came the more recent run of the season, where Burns has only finished inside the top-40 once in his last six starts and has three missed cuts along the way.

Burns, normally one the best putters on Tour, has struggled substantially on the greens. He lost over 5 strokes putting at Valhalla which has been a familiar story lately for Burns who has become known for his prowess with the flat stick. There's is little doubt that Burns possesses elite top-level win equity when things are going right, but his struggling form has kept him outside of my top-5 this week where he rightly belongs if he was playing better golf.

No. 6 - Corey Conners

We have seen multiple wins take place by Canadian players this season (Nick Taylor, Taylor Pendrith), but no player is more accomplished and primed to win than Corey Conners. Known as one the most complete players on Tour from Tee-to-Green, Conners has been once again doing his thing in 2024. His approach numbers seem to be peaking at the right time as well. Conners has gained at least 7 strokes on Approach in each of his previous two starts.

Coming from someone who has routinely bet on Conners over many years, it can be agonizing to watch him flush it with his irons and go completely flaccid on the greens. He's gaining over a stroke per round on Approach in his last 24 rounds, easily the best of any player in the field. He's as talented as anyone, but has just not shown the ceiling upside to win that I believe the other players in my Top-5 have shown.

No. 5 - Tommy Fleetwood

Witnessing Tommy Fleetwood lay up on the final hole of regulation may leave me forever scarred. He seemingly had this tournament wrapped up last season, needing a birdie on the easy par-5 finishing hole to finally secure his first PGA Tour victory. Instead, Fleetwood laid up (INTO THE ROUGH!), and he remains one the best players to not have won. Fleetwood is an extremely well rounded player who possesses all the tools to potentially get it done against a mid-tier field in Canada.

On this short course, Fleetwood has the accuracy off the tee box to set himself up repeatedly in the fairway with wedge opportunities into these greens. He ranks 12th in Driving Accuracy percentage and also top-15 in proximity to the hole from 50-125 yards. It's a great course fit for an in-form Tommy Fleetwood. Could this be the week? He's got every shot in the bag, it's all in the mentals at this point for Fleetwood.

No. 4 - Cameron Young

While we are on the topic of the best players yet to win a PGA Tour Tournament, let's go ahead and dive into my #4 player, Cameron Young. He's still one of the best Drivers of the golf ball on the planet, but his struggles with the Putter continue to hold him back. That said, it's hard to find a player more well suited to dismantle Hamilton Golf & Country than Cameron Young. He's top-15 in the field in both SG: OTT and SG: Approach which should be a deadly combination at this golf course.

Young underwhelmed at the PGA Championship and failed to finish inside the top-30 in his prior Signature series event at the Wells Fargo Championship. We shouldn't be too quick to forget the run he was on in April though, where Young nearly won the Valspar Championship and followed that up with a Top-10 result at The Masters. It's rare to find a player with this much talent that is still in search for a victory, and he should be ultra motivated this week to finally get his name off the list.

No. 3 - Sahith Theegala

Sahith Theegala is here to stay. The fan favorite has matched his charisma with his performance of late, going off in one of the final groups and notching a ton of Major Championship pressured experience at Valhalla. Interestingly, his normal ability to showcase his excellent hands around the green has been somewhat sleepy lately, but it's a data metric that he will definitely have to be successful in this week at Hamilton G&CC.

Where he has excelled lately has been his iron play. He gained four strokes on Approach at the PGA Championship and has produced a vastly improved 2024 season. I used to believe that Theegala was a player that you could only have confidence on succeeding on particular course setups, but it has become clear that this player can compete and potentially win anywhere on the schedule. He's been knocking on the door all season long, and we'll have to wait and see if someone finally answers in Canada.

No. 2. Shane Lowry

If you are looking for a player that is a premium course fit at Hamilton G&CC, look no further than an in-form Shane Lowry. He admittedly rode the coattails of Rory McIlroy in New Orleans when they won the Zurich Classic (team event) a few weeks back, but then showcased that he indeed has some game of his own when he finished 6th at the PGA Championship. If you looking at his stat metrics, Lowry has been vastly improved with his approach play this season and it has led to terrific results thus far.

Lowry has four results that are T6 or better in his last eight tournaments. He made a big change with a new putter at Valhalla after losing over 20 strokes on the greens in his previous three starts. It definitely paid dividends as Lowry has his best putting week...ever! He gained a ridiculous 9 strokes Putting that week, and while I understand that is not repeatable or predictive, I think the confidence goes a long way. Lowry also finished in 2nd at the Canadian Open when this event was last played at Hamilton in 2019.

No. 1 - Rory McIlroy

Welcome to Rory week. Rory McIlroy won this event back in 2019 with a scorching final round 61 that was reminiscent of his recent slaughtering of the field at the Wells Fargo three weeks ago where he also won. There is a lot going on outside of the golf course with McIlroy at the moment, but he has always taken a particular liking to the Canadian Open and he'll be a substantial favorite to win once again this year.

He's the number one player in the stat model that I ran, and it's not particularly close. It would appear the subtle swing changes he made with Butch Harmon before the Masters are finally settling in. He's gone with a three-quarter wedge swing that has allowed him superior control and it shows on his approach play in recent weeks. I believe McIlroy is set up to dominate this event once again in 2024 and hoist another RBC Canadian Open trophy late on Sunday evening. All hail!

Best of luck this week, RotoBaller family!

‘Run to Remember’ 5K honors those who gave the ultimate sacrifice

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Dozens of runners hit the trails on Monday in honor of the fallen in the Wear Blue Run to Remember 5k.

Each runner was assigned a veteran’s name so they could run in their honor.

Mahalia Marin is a veteran but also a part of the Student Veterans of America Association at Augusta University

“I’ve been deployed three times, I’m back here. There are many people who didn’t make it back. And we’re just here representing them. And so we speak their names, so we don’t forget,” said Marin.

Coming home isn’t something everyone gets to do. So, on Memorial Day, they run in their honor and think about how each person paid the ultimate sacrifice.

“I actually just retired this past year. But this was one of my soldiers in Washington, one of my soldiers in San Antonio and also Germany. And the last soldier I was stationed with at Fort Stewart we deployed together to Iraq and got killed over there,” said Jamie Graham, a veteran.

During the run, 133 posters could be seen along the sidelines with names and photos of fallen members since 9/11 who served in the CSRA, once lived in the area, or were friends and family members of locals.

“I lost my father in active duty Army when I was six. He was deployed in Iraq in 2010. So it’s, it’s been very rough. But starting this organization at Augusta University has really helped to not only educate the community on what Goldstar families are but to also bring in local, other Goldstar families who go to Augusta University,” said Caitlyn Burner, founder and President of Augusta Goldstar Foundation.

Burner came to honor her dad. Burner’s boyfriend and his family also ran in her dad’s honor.

“When I was running through it, I just used it as a point to just kind of go as hard as I can because we wouldn’t be here without any without their service. So I just use that as motivation just to do my best,” said Stephen Webster, Burner’s boyfriend.

They’re showing support for those you know and even those you don’t while remembering what this holiday is truly about.

“It’s pretty cool that people, people really do care. And they’re out here showing it and they’re running for fallen soldiers who they don’t even know,” said Burner.

'Ready to make that USA Team': Sha'Carri Richardson cruises to 100m win at Pre Classic

on the run tour where to watch

EUGENE, Oregon — Sha'Carri Richardson continued her revenge tour Saturday at the Prefontaine Classic at Hayward Field, winning the women’s 100-meter dash in 10.83 seconds. And according to the sprinting dynamo, she’s just getting started.

It was clear about 30 meters in that Richardson was going to cruise to a victory, topping Saint Lucia’s Julien Alfred (second at 10.93 seconds) and Great Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith (third at 10.98). Jamaican star Elaine Thompson-Herah, the defending gold medalist in both the 100 and 200, finished last at 11.30.

“I’m excited, I’m eager going into the rest of this season, I’m growing, developing and just getting ready to make that USA Team,” Richardson exclusively told USA TODAY Sports afterward, joy radiating off her petite frame.

The Pre is unique in that there are no preliminary heats, only finals. It’s considered a fan-friendly and made-for-TV event. Saturday was the first time this outdoor season that Richardson has run the 100. (She did not run in the LA Grand Prix on May 18, and finished in second and third in two 200 April races.) She admitted afterward she was nervous getting into the blocks — “I’m human,” she said — but said her coach encouraged her to use those nerves to power her down the track. Clearly, the advice worked.

Every time Richardson crouches down to get into blocks, she blows a kiss to the sky, an acknowledgement of her faith in God and how He’s blessed her. It’s a necessary reminder, she said, of “the belief that I have to have in myself first and the blessing I know I’ve been given to give back in the world, to be that vessel, to shine, to allow his glory and His love to reign through me.”

It’s been a journey to get back to this point, she acknowledged.

Just three years ago, Richardson went through a spectacular rise and fall prior to the 2021 Olympics. After winning the 100 meters at the trials , she never made it to Tokyo after testing positive for marijuana , a banned substance. She later said she used marijuana as a way to cope with the shocking news of her biological mother’s passing (Richardson was raised by her grandmother).

She was ridiculed by fans and media alike after the snafu, with much of the criticism racially tinged. Briefly, she disappeared from public view. When she came back, she bombed at the 2022 USATF championships, failing to make the finals in both the 100 and 200. One year later, when she blazed to a 10.82-second win at the U.S. Track and Field Championships — also held in Eugene — she told NBC as she came off the track, “I’m ready mentally, physically and emotionally. And I’m here to stay. I’m not back, I’m better .” She followed that performance up by winning the 100 at the World Championships in Budapest, also taking home gold in the women’s 4x100 relay and bronze in the 200.

Months later, when finished fourth in the 100 at 2023 Pre, she gushed afterward about how she had “ fallen back in love with my sport .” She was bubbly and chatty, and obviously in a better place mentally.

But she’s eyeing more.

“We’ve been preparing for the (Olympic) trials since November,” she said Saturday, laughing. “(We’re) continuing to keep that focus, keep that love and keep that positive mindset, knowing that my growth is going (to continue) into the trials and even more going into the Games.”

The last year in particular, Richardson said, has been one of “exploring myself, learning myself, falling deeper in love with myself (and) everything I put myself into.” The key, she’s learned, is to give herself love first so she can keep “falling in love with the process” throughout her career.

That process has three steps between now and June 21, when she’s scheduled to run in her first trials prelim: Grinding, focusing and growing.

Keep an eye on those three, and redemption is surely waiting for Richardson.

A three-week run of historical events continues with the RBC Canadian Open at Hamilton Golf and Country Club in Hamilton, Ontario.

Established in 1904, the National Open of Canada is the second-oldest running tournament (non-major) to the BMW Championship. Hamilton Golf & CC hosts for the seventh time and first time since Rory McIlroy ran riot, posting 22-under in 2019.

Following the 2019 edition, Martin Ebert and Tom Mackenzie renovated the Harry S. Colt (1915) design to restore the bunkers to the original design, created new tees and removed trees to help add angles of attack. The new scorecard still reads par 70, but the total yardage is now 7,087 yards.

DraftKings – Top of the board

Rory McIlroy ($12,100): The “defending” champion at Hamilton Golf & CC owns a piece of the course record, and the lowest tournament total posted in the Toronto suburb. Posting 22-under 258 on the back of a final-round 61, the Ulsterman ran away with the 2019 title by seven shots. Adding 100 yards to a short course will not deter one of the best ball-strikers on the planet. Signing up for the fourth consecutive event in Canada tells me what I need to know about his commitment to winning again. It’s a big price, but I will be able to find value down the board to make this work. Fading him in a soft field is not advisable.

Sahith Theegala ($10,500): Coming off T12 at the PGA Championship, the winner from last year’s Fortinet Championship has not shown signs of slowing down. Cashing in 11 consecutive events, the Californian is a lights-out putter and is strong throughout his bag. Choosing this direction provides extra cash to reinforce the rest of the lineup.

Sahith Theegala chips in for birdie at PGA Championship

Overvalued or undervalued?

Cameron Young ($9,800): The biggest weapon in his arsenal is the driver, just like the big-hitting winner from 2019. Looking for his first win on TOUR, his last top 10 was at the Masters four events ago. Playing the weekend in 16 consecutive starts dating back to last season, you should get four rounds to crack the code.

Corey Conners ($9,500): It’s hard to reconcile that in his first six visits, he only made the weekend one time and finished 80 th . Making the weekend is almost automatic, he’s cashed in 21 consecutive events, and with T20 and solo sixth in his last two Canadian Open appearances, he now knows how to manage the emotions in his home event. Inspired by his countryman last year, I would expect a massive effort this week.

Alex Noren ($9,900): The 10-time winner in Europe has not found victory lane on the PGA TOUR. While many will focus on the Canadian star or the younger (pun intended) non-winner, throwing a couple of extra bucks to roster the Swede makes sense. The only expectations are his own and his current run of eight straight or T24 or better suggests he’s close.

Kevin Tway ($6,700): OK, I’ll bite. Cashing T24 at Colonial last week was his first event in three outside of the top 10. I believe in streaky, hot golf, and he’s ticking the boxes. Not many eyeballs should be glaring in this direction in Hamilton.

David Lipsky ($5,400): Leading the field last week in GIR, the American broke a streak of three events not playing the weekend. Colonial is a proper challenge tee-to-green, and he passed with T9. I won’t have to fight many for his services.

Makers or breakers

Tommy Fleetwood ($10,300): After getting close last year, it’s good to see him return and take another shot. Plenty of international players have won this event, including eight of the last nine champions. The Englishman is beyond due, and a short, parkland track should be right up his alley.

Shane Lowry ($10,100): Hamilton has hosted four times this century and only twice (2012 and 2019) in the last 15 years. The point of reference on the greens will level the playing field on the short grass, and that helps the Irishman. Painting the sprinkler line and racking up GIR is the formula to contend this week.

Adam Scott ($9,000): After a week of T38 Fairways and T37 GIR, I’ve cooled on his T12 payday. With only one top-10 finish this season, I’m not ready at this price point.

Taylor Pendrith ($7,600): Sitting behind a few players who do not have a victory this season, the Canadian needs to be on the radar. The winner at TPC Craig Ranch sandwiched his victory with T11 at the Corales Puntacana Champoinship and T10 at Quail Hollow Club before missing out at the PGA Championship.

Matt Wallace ($7,600): In his last five starts, the Englishman has hit the top 20 three times. Highlighted by T4 on Bentgrass at TPC Craig Ranch, I’ll ride the momentum of three straight cuts made.

Adam Svensson ($7,300): Adam Hadwin and Nick Taylor will take up all the oxygen, but the 30-year-old from Surrey has racked up seven straight paydays. Keep hitting fairways and greens, and good things happen.

Ben Silverman ($6,500): The Canadian posted 61 in Round 2 in 2019 and finished T20. Entering his national Open this week, he posted T32 at Colonial Country Club and T16 at WFC in his last two starts.

Here’s a look at how I would devise a six-team roster this week while staying below the $50,000 salary cap offered for DraftKings contests:

  • Rory McIlroy ($12,100)
  • Alex Noren ($9,900)
  • Taylor Pendrith ($7,600)
  • Matt Wallace ($7,600)
  • Adam Svensson ($7,300)
  • David Lipsky ($5,400)

Teenage hit-and-run victim’s lost earbud leads to suspect’s arrest

JENSEN BEACH, Fla. (WPBF) - Authorities in Florida say they tracked down a suspected hit-and-run driver using an earbud the teenage victim lost in the crash.

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office arrested 49-year-old Peter Bradford Swing on Friday in connection to a hit-and-run. Swing is accused of hitting a 15-year-old boy on a bicycle with his SUV around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday in Jensen Beach.

Sheriff William Snyder says the suspect then fled the scene , leaving the seriously injured teen on the side of the road.

“When we have something as horrific as a human being being hit, a 15-year-old boy, then the driver is just driving off, that’s reprehensible,” Snyder said.

The victim’s mother posted on social media that he suffered a head injury, multiple broken bones and a lot of scrapes and bruises. He has since been released from the hospital.

Authorities say they were able to track Swing down using one of the earbuds the 15-year-old was wearing at the time of the accident. Somehow, one earbud landed under a floor mat inside Swing’s SUV, and investigators were able to track it to the suspect’s home.

“We are so happy that he was caught and that my son had a part in finding him,” the victim’s mother said.

According to the sheriff’s office , Swing confessed to striking the teen. He told investigators he fled the scene because he had previously served prison time on drug charges and began to panic.

Swing is being held in jail without bond. He is charged with leaving the scene of a crash with great bodily injury.

Remembering Cpl. Jason Hovater

The east tennessee solider died in afghanistan in 2008. now, his family is working to keep his legacy alive..

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - What is courage? For Jessica Davis, courage is her brother, Cpl. Jason Hovater.

“Courage is doing it afraid. He was going to do what he needed to do no matter what,” said Davis.

Cpl. Hovater grew up in Roane County with his three siblings. There were less than two years between Jason and Jessica. “He was so funny and I was blessed to be able to be home-schooled. My mom taught all of us at home, so we were always with each other,” she said.

His parents, Kathy and Gerald Hovater, got him involved in music at an early age. “At four years old, we got him a one-octave piano, you know, a child’s little thing. Gerald showed him four chords and he started playing those chords. He just kept repeating them probably a couple of times, and then he started in like Beethoven, and I was looking down like, oh my goodness!” said his mother, Kathy.

He grew up playing the piano and leading worship at his church. They were surprised when he told his family he wanted to join the Army. “My stomach went down into my little toe, and I knew that wasn’t his call.”

“We tried to convince him. We stayed up until 3 a.m. trying to convince him to do music with us. He said to me he said ‘Jess, I just really believe that if I went down this path and I was worship leader or if I went down this path and joined the Army, then the end result is going to be the same.’” said Davis.

In 2008, there were just ten days left on his deployment in Afghanistan when 200 Taliban insurgents attacked American troops in the Battle of Wanat. When several troops became stranded, Cpl. Hovater volunteered to run into enemy fire.

“Jason raised his hand, volunteered, and went up. He gave those guys the courage,” said Kathy Hovater.

Nine U.S. service members died that day. Twenty-seven were wounded. The Hovaters would soon learn Jason was among the nine who weren’t coming home.

“We got a knock on the door at 1:40 AM,” said Kathy. “Our son came into the room. I said, ‘Honey, I’m not getting up for anything!’ he said, ‘Mom, there are two Army men out there.’ I knew right then, I knew, both of us did,” she said.

A day that changed this family forever. “I thought I was just going to fall over myself because of the way he was, you know. He was such a good person to me and everybody else,” said Gerald Hovater.

But when you speak with Jason’s family, you don’t feel sadness. Instead, you feel hope.

“I believe that in his life God could have received glory, but even in his death, god still receives glory,” said Davis.

Since his death, they’ve become close with survivors of that battle. Like Staff Sgt. Jonathan Benton. He was one of the last people to talk to Cpl. Hovater before he died.

“That was the last conversation I had with him when I said you need to go with Lt. Brostrom. He needs cover fire and support. You guys go. I’m going throw smoke and provide you cover fire on the way and that was the last time that I saw him, I watched him literally run into a blaze of glory,” said Benton.

Both Benton and Hovaters now work to make sure other veterans feel supported. “To see guys like Jason do what they did, to face insurmountable odds and to do it just like the rest of us wake up and go to our jobs every day. He just picked up his rifle and ran into it. I’ll never forget that and just like the Hovaters I want to continue to honor that legacy,” said Benton.

“What’s important is the moment right now and if we can help somebody to endure, and not just endure but live a victorious life above the pain and sorrow,” said Davis.

They’ll continue to do that work with the same courage Jason had.

“I have some chimes on my back porch, and whenever that thing chimes. I feel like Jason is playing me a song,” said Kathy.
