I Prevail Announce Rescheduled Tour Dates

Michigan metalcore crew I Prevail will be returning to the UK this summer.

I Prevail Announce Rescheduled Tour Dates

I Prevail 's spring tour dates have now been rescheduled for August and September this year.

The Michigan gang were set to hit the UK soon for their Trauma Tour, but have pushed back these shows for a few months due to the many health and travel concerns related to coronavirus.

“In these very tough and strange times, we’re stoked to announce that all postponed dates from the EU/UK leg of The Trauma Tour have officially been rescheduled for this August/September," the band say.

"All previously purchased GA and VIP tickets will remain valid. We’ve also added some killer festivals and additional headlining shows to the route. Dream State will still be joining us on all headlining UK shows & in Dublin, Ireland. Support TBA for all European headlining dates.

“We’re hunkered down for now… but we’ll be back to crowdsurfing, circle-pits and walls of death in no time. Stay safe and see you soon. Oh yeah, keep washing your hands.”

Wise advice.

Catch I Prevail at the following dates in the UK:

26 Portsmouth Pyramids 27 Bristol O2 Academy 31 Manchester Academy

2 Glasgow SWG3 3 Nottingham Rock City 4 Leeds Beckett University 7 London O2 Forum Kentish Town 9 Dublin Academy

Back when the Trauma Tour was first announced, vocalist Eric Vanlerberghe told Kerrang! of his relationship with the UK, “It almost feels like another home for us – and especially in London. I’m thousands of miles away from home, but when you get to the shows and you talk to people and they share stories with us about how they connect to your music, you can’t help but feel a connection. It doesn’t matter where in the world you are.”

Discussing how I Prevail are the 'breakthrough' band in their genre, Eric explained of how he views the scene that he's a part of: “I feel like a lot of people are saying that rock’s dead, and a lot of people are saying it’s alive but we need to keep playing the same old songs. I look around and there are more than a handful of bands that are not forgetting their rock or metal roots but they’re trying new things, and that’s exciting to me. That’s exactly what’s going to keep this genre alive, and I think by the end of this year and the beginning of next year you’re going to see a rise of these hybrid bands. I think it’s about time that this new genre emerged, and people are going to have to start accepting that.”

Live Review: I Prevail – EU/UK 2023 Tour – OVO Arena Wembley, London

Posted On: March 31, 2023 | Reviewed By Fraser Kerr

Who? Where? When?

At ovo arena wembley, london on the 29/03/2023., supported by blind channel, and trash boat..

Originally, I Prevail’s London show was supposed to take place at the city’s O2 Forum Kentish Town. Upgraded and postponed in the pandemic to O2 Academy Brixton, all was looking good for Michigan rockers to return to the United Kingdom’s Soil. Unfortunately, due to an incident at the beloved Academy, shows scheduled there had to be moved or postponed – in this case to the OVO Arena Wembley. With support from Blind Channel, and Trash Boat, nothing was going to stop us heading down to check out this show.

Past Eurovision entrant Blind Channel were first to take to the stage. The Finnish sextet wasted little time getting the crowd warmed up as they launched into the fast paced ‘Alive or Only Burning’ before requesting the crowd to jump along to the second song ‘We Are No Saints’. Despite being the band’s first time in the Wembley Arena, Joel Hokka & Niko Moilanen bounced around every inch of the stage commanding the crowd at every moment they had. The band even managed to slip in a snippet of Papa Roach’s ‘Last Resort’ mid set (which went down well with the audience). The band’s short set ended on a high with fan favourite ‘Dark Side’ inviting the whole room to “put their middle fingers up”.

Also making their debut performance at the venue, Britain’s very own Trash Boat shortly followed. ‘Synthetic Sympathy’ opened the set before Tobi Duncan asked the audience to up the energy for ‘Silence Is Golden’ – starting the mosh pits to open up. This track would also see the band inviting Eric Vanlerberghe up on stage to help them out. Later in the set ‘Bad Entertainment’ saw the introduction of Charlie Rolfe (As Everything Unfolds) joining the band to fill in for Milkie Way’s (WARGASM UK) parts. The band’s rendition of Linkin Park’s ‘Given Up’ turned many heads within the arena, as Tobi laid down some truly exceptional raw vocals – that respectfully tributed Chester Bennington’s.

The room spun like a beyblade for the band’s latest single ‘Delusions of Grandeur’. Towards the end of the set Tobi told the room how this had been the “single best support run” before taking a moment to talk about venues taking merch cuts of 20%-30% which the audience made clear they weren’t happy about either with loud boo’s – he made clear that this wasn’t the people actually selling the merch in the venue and nobody should take this out on them. Trash Boat finished the set with ‘He’s So Good’ sparking a lot of people to crowdsurf along.

Walking onto the admittedly bare stage, I was worried that they might have not adjusted their planned Kentish Town Show – This thought was quickly eroded with the second song ‘Body Bag’ when pyro started warming up the room. Reawakening the energy set out by the supports, mosh pits were a staple of the set from start to finish. Unfortunately, the theatrics saw a slight hiccup in ‘Bad Things’ with one of the eight CO2 cannons continuing to go off after the rest – nevertheless this still looked pretty cool, and didn’t faze the band.

With this tour originally being for their 2019 album ‘TRAUMA’ it made sense that the setlist largely stuck to both this and their new album ‘TRUE POWER’, however it would have been nice to see a few more older tracks – with only 2016’s Lifelines being represented. I did enjoy the cover of ‘Chop Suey’ which saw the crowd chanting the lyrics back to the band, before they seamlessly went into ‘FWYTYK’.

As the night drew to a close, the band returned to the stage one final time for a two song encore featuring ‘Gasoline’, and ‘Bow Down’, with Eric Vanlerberghe coming out with an I Prevail Union Jack flag which he laid across the drum riser. The crowd didn’t let any energy go to waste on these last two tracks, jumping, moshing, and enjoying every last second before they’d have to go back to the real world.

I Prevail really proved that they were worthy of the venue upgrades, their energy didn’t let up at any point during their set, and the show went down extremely well with the fans in attendance. This show was outstanding from start to finish with all three bands making the most of the arena setting they found themselves in – there’s no doubt to me that this won’t be the last show at the arena for any of the three bands.

Detroit rockers I Prevail have announced three UK headline shows, coinciding with details of their new album Trauma .

The band will take to Glasgow, Manchester and London in June 2019.

Trauma is set for release on 29 March 2019 through Fearless Records. The album aims to build on the success of their Lifelines debut, which generated close to half a billion streams and was certified Gold.

The band recently unveiled two tracks from their forthcoming album; Breaking Down and Bow Down .

I Prevail - Bow Down (Official Music Video)

The album sees the band emerge from a turbulent time in their career, one which saw vocalist Brian Burkenheiser deal with a serious vocal injury and subsequent stress and anxiety. Trauma is the outcome of that journey, looking to once again showcase I Prevail’s full potential.

I Prevail launched onto the scene in 2014, going on to play over 500 live shows in three years. Their take on Taylor Swift’s Blank Space propelled them forward, and featured on their Heart Vs. Mind EP.

Their sound brings together elements of heavy metal, alternative, hip-hip and electronic, breaking out of any preset genre confines.

Halestorm + I Prevail Announce 2024 North American Summer Tour

Halestorm  and I Prevail  have announced a 2024 North American co-headlining summer tour with Hollywood Undead and Fit for a King as support.

Halestorm shared a teaser clip on their Instagram a few days ago that showed their logo spin over a black background, then switch to I Prevail's logo and then back to their own again. It was a subtle teaser, but anyone familiar with I Prevail's logo may have recognized the horizontal symbol that connects the V and the A in their band name.

The trek will kick off July 9 in Raleigh, N.C. and wrap up Aug. 17 in Las Vegas. The general ticket sale beings this Friday, March 8 at 10AM local time. You can  get tickets through Halestorm's website or I Prevail's page .

See the teaser below and the tour dates underneath.

"Freaks, we are so proud to announce that we are joining forces with I Prevail," Lzzy Hale enthused. "This isn’t your typical summer tour. This is two worlds colliding under one haven for our collective armies. And bringing you a show unlike any we've done before! We have a lot of surprises in store, so get your tickets now for an experience none of us will forget!"

ABOUT HALESTORM:

Having amassed over 2.5 Billion streams globally, the Grammy-Award winning band Halestorm has grown from a childhood dream of siblings Lzzy and Arejay Hale into one of the most celebrated rock bands of the last two decades.  Most recently, the band released Back From The Dead , their fifth full-length studio album which has tallied over 100 Million streams worldwide.   Rolling Stone called the title track “a biting but cathartic howler about overcoming all obstacles,” and that song as well as “The Steeple” marked their fifth and sixth number ones at rock radio, respectively.   Associated Press said the album “will definitely be in the running for best hard rock/metal album of the year.” Their previous album, Vicious, earned the band their second Grammy nomination, for Best Hard Rock Performance for the song “Uncomfortable,” the band’s fourth #1 at rock radio, and led Loudwire to name Halestorm “Rock Artist of the Decade” in 2019.  Fronted by the incomparable Lzzy Hale with drummer Arejay Hale, guitarist Joe Hottinger, and bass player Josh Smith, Halestorm’s music has earned multiple Platinum and Gold Certifications from the RIAA, and the band has earned a reputation as a powerful live music force, headlining sold-out shows and topping festival bills around the world, and sharing the stage with icons including Heaven & Hell, Alice Cooper, Joan Jett, and Judas Priest. Additionally, Lzzy was named the first female brand ambassador for Gibson and served as host of AXS TV’s “A Year in Music.”

ABOUT I PREVAIL:

I Prevail have established themselves as the forerunners of the genre in the 21st century. Their latest release TRUE POWER, once again produced by Tyler Smyth, features the sort of stadium-sized riffs that will rattle your teeth loose from your gums and unforgettable, supremely catchy melodies that will camp out in your brain for weeks at a time. The band also alternately mixes screamed vocals that sound as though they crawled from the depths of hell with soaring, emotional vocals and heartfelt, intimate lyrics that go so deep, they hit marrow. The end result is an album that resonates with the listener in the most personal way. Rising to an arena level and receiving two Grammy nominations — Best Rock Album for Trauma and Best Metal Performance for crushing lead single “Bow Down” — I Prevail proved that they were built to last. To date, they’ve racked up more than 4.1 billion global streams, are approaching 716 million YouTube views, and saw both “Hurricane” and “Bad Things” singles top Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart in 2020 and 2022 respectively. A number of their singles and album Lifelines have now been certified Gold and Platinum, and they have been praised by press far and wide, including Forbes, Billboard, The Hollywood Reporter, and NPR. I Prevail have affirmed their position among the genre’s elite.

ABOUT HOLLYWOOD UNDEAD:

Formed in 2005, Hollywood Undead inched towards mainstream dominance under the radar with unprecedented success for a modern band. Preceding the current playlist-hopping genre-less boom, they defied stylistic boundaries from day one integrating rap, rock, and electronic. The band will be heading back out on the road in the Fall of 2023 with hip hop legend Tech N9ne co-head lining the HOLLYWOOD & N9NE Tour in support of their 8th studio album, Hotel Kalifornia.

ABOUT FIT FOR A KING:

Fit For A King’s musical style is rooted in metal and hardcore and uplifted by hypnotic hooks. Following the breakout LP Creation/Destruction [2013], they earned four consecutive Top 5 debuts on the Top Hard Rock Albums Chart with Slave to Nothing [2014], Deathgrip [2016], Dark Skies [2018], and The Path [2020]. The latter marked their first Top 10 on the Billboard Top Album Sales Chart. Plus, the band collaborated with fellow heavy-hitters such as August Burns Red and We Came As Romans. They’ve generated nearly 435 million streams over the course of their career, have toured with Pierce the Veil, I Prevail, The Devil Wears Prada, Motionless in White, and many more. Their latest The Hell We Create is out now via Solid State Records.

About Live Nation Entertainment:

Live Nation Entertainment (NYSE: LYV) is the world’s leading live entertainment company comprised of global market leaders: Ticketmaster, Live Nation Concerts, and Live Nation Sponsorship. For additional information, visit www.livenationentertainment.com .

Talor Gooch sees his PGA Championship invitation as evidence sanity may prevail in LIV/PGA split

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Talor Gooch wasn't planning to be at Valhalla this week. He and his wife, Ally, had scheduled a trip to Las Vegas to take advantage of a break in the LIV Tour schedule.

Then Gooch checked his inbox and found an invitation to the PGA Championship. Just a simple note. No politics, just tacit recognition from the PGA of America that it was serious about assembling the best 156-player field for golf's second major of the year.

For Gooch, among the first wave of defectors to Saudi-backed LIV and winner of the league's individual championship last year, it offered hope that at least when it comes to the sport's biggest stages, sanity may ultimately prevail.

“This is the first time that LIV play has been recognized, which I hope is a step in the right direction,” Gooch said after wrapping up a practice round on Wednesday.

The 32-year-old, wearing a white hat of the “Smash” team he represents on LIV and Jordan low golf shoes shaded with the black and orange of his alma mater, Oklahoma State, signed autographs and posed for selfies while walking off the ninth green.

It all felt normal, a welcome reminder for Gooch of what the game can still be.

While the future of any reconciliation between LIV and the PGA Tour remains very much in the air — Gooch said anyone who knows how things will turn out is guessing — he believes how the PGA, the Masters, the U.S. Open and the British Open view LIV players potentially can speed up the process.

“I think the majors have a chance to be on the forefront of that and that’s why it’s so cool seeing what the PGA of America did because they were the first to say, ‘You know what, we’re going to rise above all this; we’re going to hopefully be that beacon of hope for the rest of the game.’” he said.

A total of 16 LIV players will tee it up on Thursday. The other 15 have exemptions or fit PGA's criteria in some other way, be it through a top 100 world ranking or recent performances at majors. Gooch — currently ranked 668th in the world because LIV events don't qualify for ranking points — is the only one who received an invitation strictly for what he's done at LIV, where he won three times in 2023.

The PGA Championship likes to boast it has the best field in golf.

“We are not bound to world rankings,” PGA of America CEO Seth Waugh said. “We are not bound to special invitations.”

So Gooch happily switched up his plans, trading Sin City neon for Kentucky Bluegrass. He hopes to play well, though he admitted he's not quite where he was in 2023.

Just don't expect him to alter his schedule going forward to chase a spot in the majors. He has declined to try to get into the U.S. and British Opens through qualifying, and he has no plans to play elsewhere in the world to make it to Augusta National as Joaquin Niemann did .

Gooch enjoys that there's an actual offseason in LIV, in part because it allows him to spend time with Ally and their two children back home in Midwest City, Oklahoma.

And in part because it lets him expand his horizons.

Like, say, running a Professional Bull Riding team.

Gooch is the owner of the Oklahoma Wildcatters , who begin their inaugural season in the PBR this summer. Gooch, who admits he's never been on a bull, was turned on to the reality TV series “The Ride” that profiles some of the top bull riders in the world.

That led to one discussion, then another until Gooch found himself writing a check to own one of two expansion teams that will push the number of PBR clubs to 10.

Brandon Bates, who has served as an announcer for the PBR for 20 years, is the general manager. Two-time PBR champion J.B. Mauney will serve as the head coach. There's already been an expansion draft and the rest of the roster will be filled out through free agency and an NFL-style draft in the coming weeks.

Gooch sees some similarities between LIV and PBR, particularly when it comes to creating a team atmosphere in an individual sport.

“I’ve told people, ‘Imagine if the PGA Tour had started (the way) LIV (has) and we didn’t have this fracturing of a sport in different ways,’” Gooch said. “The team part would be killing it, crushing it, but the chaos has held that back as of now. ... PBR has potential to boom and be something really cool, be something to be a part of.”

And something for Gooch to do whenever his golf career ends. He's seen other professional athletes move into other arenas as owners. He saw no reason why he couldn't do the same. Rodeo and bull riding are big in Oklahoma, and sports of all stripes play an outsized role in the state's identity.

“We rally around our own you know,” he said. "It’s a crazy story for a longer talk, but it’s been a perfect storm.”
