Holland America’s 2024-25 Caribbean Schedule Features Extended Cruises
Sarah Bretz, Contributor
- March 30, 2023
Holland America has announced details on its 2024-2025 winter Caribbean schedule, which includes three longer itineraries that are 14 and 21 days long. Also new for this season is the addition of Boston as a Caribbean departure port in addition to Fort Lauderdale, plus the return of calls to Bermuda.
The cruise line’s winter Caribbean voyages will sail from October 2024 through March 2025 and feature five to 21-day options to the eastern, western, and southern Caribbean. They will take place aboard Eurodam, Nieuw Amsterdam, Nieuw Statendam, Rotterdam, Volendam, and Zuiderdam. The majority of sailings will be from Port Everglades, while two itineraries will depart from Boston.
Longer Cruises
New is a unique 21-day Perfect Caribbean Escape cruise roundtrip from Boston aboard Zuiderdam. Departing October 19, 2024, this extended adventure includes a partial Panama Canal transit and a call to Bermuda. Other stops include Half Moon Cay, Grand Turk, Curaçao, Aruba, Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica, Port Canaveral, and Bimini.
Following that voyage, the ship will offer a new 14-day Southern Caribbean itinerary from Boston to Fort Lauderdale departing November 9th. Port calls include Bermuda, St. Thomas, St. Maarten, St. Lucia, Barbados, Curaçao, and Half Moon Cay.
These departures can be combined to form a 35-day Collectors’ Voyage.
Another new 21-day Caribbean exploration will sail roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale aboard Volendam. Departing January 4, 2025, this Ultimate Caribbean voyage calls on Half Moon Cay, Amber Cove, Puerto Rico, Tortola, St. Maarten, Antigua, Dominica, St. Lucia, Barbados, St. Vincent, Grenada, Bonaire, Aruba, Jamaica, and Grand Cayman.
Western Caribbean
Holland America’s western Caribbean itineraries include six, seven, and 10-day options. The seven-day voyage calls at Cozumel, Half Moon Cay, Ocho Rios, and Grand Cayman. The 10-day voyages are a combination of ports that include Montego Bay or Falmouth, Roatán, Belize City, Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Half Moon Cay, and Bimini.
Eastern Caribbean
Holland America’s seven-day eastern Caribbean itinerary visits Grand Turk, St. Thomas, Puerto Rico, and Half Moon Cay. A longer 11-day Eastern Caribbean Wayfarer itinerary calls on St. Maarten, Antigua, St. Lucia, Dominica, St. Kitts, St. Thomas, and Half Moon Cay.

Southern Caribbean
In addition to the new Boston to Fort Lauderdale cruise, the southern Caribbean itineraries range from nine to 14 days. The nine-day hits up the ABC Islands (Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao) before visiting Half Moon Cay. The 10-day adds Grand Turk and Amber Cove.
The 14-day Southern Caribbean Holiday sailing, Departing December 21, 2024, explores St. Thomas, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, Barbados, Grenada, Guadeloupe, St. Maarten, Puerto Rico, and Half Moon Cay.
Tropical Caribbean
Those looking for a shorter getaway can take the five-day itinerary that visits Half Moon Cay and Amber Cove. The popular seven-day Tropical Caribbean sailing returns with calls to Grand Turk, Amber Cove, and Half Moon Cay.
Partial Panama Canal
Those looking to sail the Panama Canal without a coast-to-coast transit can embark on the 12-day Panama Canal Sunfarer itinerary. In addition to venturing around the Panama Canal’s Gatun Lake and a partial transit, the itinerary includes visits to Curaçao, Cartagena, Colon, Puerto Limon, and Half Moon Cay.
Early Booking Bonus
Bookings for these voyages are now open. For a limited time, those who book these new 2024-2025 Caribbean cruises with the Have It All premium package will receive the standard package amenities (shore excursions, specialty dining, a Signature Beverage Package, and Surf wifi) plus the added perks of prepaid gratuities and upgrades to the Elite Beverage Package and Premium wifi.
Guests can also take advantage of Holland America’s Mariner Society Early Booking Bonus. Mariner Society loyalty members can enjoy up to $400 in onboard credit per cabin when select voyages open for sale. They must book these cruises by June 27, 2023 to receive the bonus.

Just a short ways down the board:
It's hard to believe that HAL does not have a schedule yet for Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 Caribbean cruises. Is it possible that they think not releasing the new schedule will help them fill the ships on the current schedule?

I was thinking they don't want to make promises they won't be able to keep - as in some of their ships won't be around then.
But that's never stopped them before.

You might be correct.
Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 Caribbean now posted on HAL website.

Thanks! I had checked just this morning and they weren't there.

Thanks for the alert. I just booked an October 12 day Panama Canal cruise on the Rotterdam! The perks are great and I used my welcome home promotion.
YAY finally, thanks for posting.
I was surprised to see the Rotterdam is doing the Panama Canal as I thought the Pinnacle Class ships, or at least the Koningsdam, wouldn’t fit through the canal due to the positioning of the lifeboats. I assume they corrected this, at least with the Rotterdam or did they correct with the Nieuw Statendam as well or did I mis-understand all together?? 🤔

I am not sure, it doesn’t say so I assume its the old locks……how can you tell if it doesn’t say?
22 minutes ago, rodndonna said: Is is the old locks or the new ones?
Rotterdam, like N. Statendam, were modified to fix the problem Koningsdam has. But they will need to use the new locks. They are too wide for the old locks.

Thank you…..disappointing, wish they kept the Eurodam sailing the old locks….
The 2023 Holiday cruises are indeed on the HAL website, but haven't been loaded onto the major TA website yet.
I just did a mock booking for a 14-day Christmas cruise. I want an inside cabin, and was surprised to see all the forward inside cabins labeled as Sold Out. I don't want to be forward, but it makes me wonder why they're all sold out.

That may explain why the port fees have increased to much - the new locks cost more. We're paying $430 in Nov/Dec 2022 (Eurodam) and the Rotterdam in Nov 2023 is $560 per person.

California's new 'Honest Pricing Law' will require cruise lines to be transparent about fees
- California's "Honest Pricing Law" will go into effect on July 1, 2024.
- The law makes it illegal for businesses to advertise a price that doesn't include all the fees.
- Cruise companies like Carnival Corp. will have to be more upfront about their prices.
A new California law will force cruise lines to be more transparent about their prices, bolstering a Biden administration crusade against junk fees .
Senate Bill 478, also known as the "Honest Pricing Law," will go into effect on July 1. The law makes it illegal for businesses to advertise prices for goods or services that don't include all the required fees or charges.
A press release from California's attorney general said the price transparency law "protects consumers from deceptive price advertising and allows them to make an informed decision by seeing the all-in price of goods or services up-front before they get the bill."
The new law will impact the travel industry, including cruise lines that operate in California. Companies like Royal Caribbean International and Norweigan Cruise Line will need to make the price of taxes, port fees, and other charges clear to customers up front, according to The Washington Post .
A Carnival Corp. representative told the outlet it would follow guidelines set out by the "Honest Pricing Law." Carnival Corp. is the parent company of brands like Carnival Cruise Line, Princess Cruises, and Holland America.
"While this is a California state law, we are making this change nationwide to ensure our advertised pricing is consistent no matter where guests shop for our cruise," the statement said.
Related stories
The representative said that from now on, the full advertised cost would include extra charges previously "itemized separately for consumer awareness."
Norweigan Cruise Lines is still determining their next steps, according to the outlet.
A spokesperson for Royal Caribbean told Travel + Leisure that guests can expect to see extra fees included in the overall price.
"Guests booking with Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises will now see pricing that is inclusive of their selected cruise fare and all required taxes and fees," the statement read. "We are also supporting our travel partners across the country ahead of this upcoming change."
Representatives for Carnival Corp., Royal Caribbean, and Norwegian Cruise Line did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Business Insider.
The California attorney general's press release said the "Honest Pricing Law" comes as the Biden administration continues to address hidden fees, also known as "junk fees." The Biden administration first announced its fight against hidden fees in October 2022.
In October 2023, the Biden administration announced it would require banks and credit unions to provide customers with basic information without charging fees.
The Federal Trade Commission also proposed a rule in October 2023 that would ban hidden fees and require all businesses to show the full price of a good or service up front.

How to visit Australia without flying: Holland America launches new Grand Voyage
The long-haul flight can be enough to keep some U.S. travelers from visiting Australia . But a new Holland America Line itinerary will offer an alternate route.
The cruise line’s Grand Australia and New Zealand voyage will sail round-trip from San Diego, California in 2026, taking guests down under and back over 93 days.
"Our Grand Voyages are renowned for connecting guests with the world's most fascinating places while sailing roundtrip from the United States," Beth Bodensteiner, the line’s chief commercial officer, said in a news release . "Our team crafted this itinerary to show guests the parts of Australia and New Zealand they expect to visit, but also included frequently asked for, but rarely visited, ports throughout Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands."
When is Holland America’s Grand Australia and New Zealand voyage?
The cruise will depart on Jan. 4, 2026 aboard the line’s 1,432-guest Zaandam ship.
Where will the cruise sail?
The ship will visit 44 ports in 10 countries. Passengers will make their way to Hawaii first before heading to the South Pacific. The ship will then visit Australia – almost circling the country – and New Zealand, followed by Tonga and French Polynesia on the way back to San Diego.
The itinerary features two days of scenic cruising at the Great Barrier Reef and four late-night departures in Adelaide, Australia and the French Polynesian islands of Moorea, Raiatea and Huahine. Guests will also stay overnight in six ports, including Honolulu, Sydney and Auckland, giving them ample time to explore.
Short vs. long cruises: Which one is right for you?
How much does the cruise cost?
The cruise currently starts at $17,699 per person based on double occupancy, according to Holland America’s website . Travelers who book by June 16, 2025 can get perks like a Surf Wi-Fi package, airport transfers in San Diego, a 3% pay-in-full discount and more thrown in (though they vary by stateroom category).
