Just an update on anyone that has a booking with Love Holidays.

Earlier this week, the FTI group, parent company of love holidays suppliers You Travel and Meeting point, filed for insolvency.

Booking’s however, are not affected by this news . Continue with your travel plans as normal.

FTI Group/Youtravel insolvency

Earlier this week the FTI Group, one of Europe’s largest tour operators and the parent company of 2 of our suppliers, Youtravel and Meeting Point, filed for insolvency.

This means that a very small portion of our customers’ accommodation arrangements will be affected. However, we’re working hard to honour these bookings with other suppliers to minimise disruption to any holidays

If you’re travelling with us soon and your accommodation was booked through Youtravel, please don’t worry. Our team is working on reinstating these bookings so you can travel as normal.

We’ll be updating this page with answers to the most frequently asked questions relating to their insolvency and how it affects our customers.

Tui has stepped in to help clients and hoteliers affected by the collapse of FTI Touristik.

Youtravel has extended a stop on taking bookings into a second week after disclosing that some holidaymakers are being asked to pay for their accommodation in resorts following the collapse of German parent FTI Touristik.

I see that FTI Touristik. are the 3rd largest tour operator in Europe

Last tour operator of any significent size i recall going under was Thomas Cook 🛬

Had a phonecall of hays travel, this morning, to say hotel we are staying at ( bel azur 4 star ) is no longer available due to going firm they had booked it with gone into liquidation.

They have found an alternative hotel, hammamet spa beach resort 3 star, to which i have read reviews, and being a 3star, and friends have been to this hotel, and would not recommend it, 'm not happy to except.....hays have said, if I do not accept this hotel, we are going to loose the money, we have paid....I did ask what other hotels, they had and they said that is the only one.

I have been in touch with my insurance, explained to them situation, and they can not say if I would get a full refund, as it would have to go to a case manager to discuss. Also been in touch credit card company as paid through c.card, she advised to get hays to send me, details over by email, saying firm they use has gone in to liquidation along with other questions, which I have been in touch with hays to send details over.

Any advice on anything else I can do, as not much more I can do today, but want to be prepared, when I phone/ go into hays on monday.

Hays have confirmed verbally, that it is a package holiday, as went in gave dates and hotel we wanted, thats another question i asked hats to confirm in email.

Insurance will depend if you had supplier failure coverage. Did you receive an ATOL certificate from HAYS - then you can check with ATOL your coverage. Obviously see what HAYS can offer you first but careful of accepting offer that would invalidate a claim.

Cheers Mick, I did say that to hays, the reply was, because you are being offered an altertanative hotel, I would not get a refund.....alternative in my eyes, is same rating and facilities, and I'm certainly not going to accept, a hotel friends have been to and would not recommend.

I am booked to go with a friend who is patially sighted and other disabilities, same date, same hotel, but different airport, due to her living a couple of hours away from me, but she has booked through tui, she has tui assitense, and I would be at the bel to meet her, as I would get there before her. She has been in touch with tui, to see if her holiday is going ahead, and they have said they will look in to it, and let her know. If her holiday is still going ahead, it will be hard for her, due to me helping her a lot whilst on holiday.

I hope you get full refund and try get a booking with Tui or other for same dates ,so you can meet up with your friend 🤞

The outfit that has went bust appear to have tentacles all over Europe with booking/holiday outlets/ companies 🤯
