Historic Barrel + Bottle House

Historic Brewing Company got its start in Flagstaff in 2013. Since its inception, it has opened tasting rooms in Flagstaff and Williams, AZ. Historic has a knack for incorporating some less traditional ingredients into their beers including but not limited to their Piehole Porter (a cherry vanilla porter) or their Undercover Cucumber (a blonde ale infused with cucumber). We recommend starting at their Barrel + Bottle house located in downtown Flagstaff where you can try some of their exceptional brews, craft cocktails, and delicious pub fare. If you have time stop by the original brewery located in East Flagstaff.

Discovering the Flagstaff Brewery Trail in Northern Arizona

Written by teresa bitler, arizona | eat & drink | restaurants | travel.

To escape Phoenix’s triple-digit temperatures during the summer, I head north, and one of my favorite beat-the-heat destinations is Flagstaff . Not only is it a great base for exploring the Grand Canyon , Route 66 , and Meteor Crater , Flagstaff is home to some of the best breweries in the state. I’ve sampled a few brews on visits over the years, but this time, I decided to spend a day sipping a few pints on the Flagstaff Brewery Trail .

The Flagstaff Brewery Trail

Formerly known as the Flagstaff Ale Trail, the Flagstaff Brewery Trail features many of the same watering holes as its predecessor, but now, instead of purchasing a passport, you can print a free “passport” out at home. (Unfortunately, while the previous passport entitled you to discounts on your beers, this one does not.) You take your passport to each brewery and collect a sticker, no purchase necessary.

When you’ve collected a sticker for each stop, you can turn your completed passport into the Flagstaff Visitor Center at 1 East Route 66 in the historic downtown train station or to the city’s convention and visitors bureau at 323 W. Aspen Ave. and exchange it for a brewery trail pint glass. There’s no deadline to collect all of the stickers, and you must be 21 to participate.

Since I have a dozen passports for other trails already, I didn’t actually print out this one or collect its stickers. But, I hit the trail thirsty and found some new favorite breweries.

(While visiting, my husband served as my designated driver. If you don’t have a designated driver, you can call a taxi or rideshare service or take the bus. Many of the breweries are within walking distance of each other.)

Beaver Street Brewery

Opened in 1994, Beaver Street Brewery is Flagstaff’s first brewery. I’ve visited many times before, so I didn’t stop on this visit, but it’s definitely one of the city’s best. Try one of the mainstays: Conductor IPA, Railhead Red, R&R Stout, Red Rock Raspberry, HopShot Red IPA, Black ‘N’ Raz, or Midnight Black IPA. Or, when it’s available, order my favorite, the Hefeweizen.

Beaver Street Brewery also serves amazing pizzas, burgers, and sandwiches. Its green chile stew is a dish my husband and I reminisce about often.

Lumberyard Brewing Co.

Looking to expand, the owners of Beaver Street Brewery opened Lumberyard Brewing Co. in the historic Halstead Lumberyard building in 2010. Some of the beers from Beaver Street Brewery, like the Railhead Red and Red Rock Raspberry, also appear on the menu here. Lumberyard also features several of its own brews, including the Pumphouse Porter and the Hazy Angle IPA. I ordered the Humphrey’s Hefe—I love hefeweizens—and it was tasty with my Vietnamese Burger topped with char sui pork, pepper jack, pickled daikon and carrots, fresh jalapeños, cucumbers, cilantro, and sriracha aioli. Lumberyard is my choice for burgers and brews and has a great patio.

Flagstaff brewery trail

Historic Brewing Company

This popular brewery has two Flagstaff locations. Drop by the brewery’s taproom at 4366 E. Huntington Dr. on the city’s east side to sip 16 of their rotating selections, including the brewery’s famous cherry vanilla Piehole Porter and its seasonal Undercover Cucumber, made with 150 pounds of cold-pressed cucumber in each batch. Downtown, the Barrel + Bottle House has 20 beers on tap plus a full liquor bar, specialty cocktails, wines, and arcade games.

The brewery has a third location, also a Barrel + Bottle House, in nearby Williams.

Flagstaff brewery trail

Wanderlust Brewing Co.

Taking its name from brewer Nathan Friedman’s love of travel, Wanderlust Brewing Co. specializes in Saisons and farmhouse ales but produces traditional-style brews from around the world. And, unlike many of Flagstaff’s other breweries, this one focuses on beer. It doesn’t serve food (although it does bring in food trucks) and is dog-friendly. Order the 928 Local, a farmhouse ale fermented with homemade yeast, or the Pan-American Stout, its popular oatmeal stout.

Mother Road Brewing Co.

You need to visit both Mother Road Brewing Co. locations, the original on Pike Street and the one on Butler Avenue, and collect stickers from both to complete the brewery trail, but given the quality of its beers, you won’t mind. I opt for Conserve and Protect Kolsch when I visit, but Mother Road is known for its IPAs. Sip the Daily Driver Session IPA, Lost Highway Double Black IPA, or Tower Station IPA, if that’s your bent. Experimental and seasonal beers are also available.

Flagstaff brewery trail

Flagstaff Brewing Company

Locally known as Flagbrew, this small brewery offers only a few of its brews on tap at any given time. Watch for the Three-Pin Pale Ale or Agassiz Amber, two of the brewery’s most popular beers. For a darker brew, ask for the Sasquatch Stout. Looking for a stiffer drink? Flagstaff Brewing Company also boasts one of the nation’s largest collections of single malts and small-batch bourbons, including Old Rip Van Winkle 10 Year. Enjoy your beer or bourbon with the brewery’s burgers, sandwiches, soup, and salads.

Dark Sky Brewing Company

Named in honor of Flagstaff being designated the first dark sky city in the world, Dark Sky Brewing Company likes to push the limits of brewing. You can linger over a traditional-style beer, like the Wellenlange Kolsch I enjoyed on my visit, but you’re really missing out if you don’t at least sample one of the experimental offerings. I highly recommend Churro, an imperial stout with hints of cinnamon, vanilla, and coffee. Do yourself another favor and order a pizza from Pizzicletta, which operates in the brewery.

Flagstaff brewery trail

Grand Canyon Brewing Company

Ales and IPAs dominate the brews at Grand Canyon Brewing Company . Year-round offerings include the popular Kachina Throwback Ale, the official craft beer of the state’s NHL franchise, the Arizona Coyotes, and Trail Hike IPA, brewed to commemorate Grand Canyon National Park’s centennial. The brewery also has seasonal beers on tap and mixes cocktails featuring vodka, rum, and gin distilled at its distillery.

You can enjoy beers, cocktails, and food at Grand Canyon Brewing’s original location in Williams or the Flagstaff location. Tours of the brewery and distillery are available in Williams.

Bonus: Drinking Horn Mead Hall

While it’s not a stop on the brewery trail, Drinking Horn Mead Hall , located on Route 66 in downtown Flagstaff, deserves a mention. The meadery serves a not-too-sweet alcoholic mead sweetened mostly with fruit juices and occasionally with honey.

Flagstaff brewery trail

Some of the meads available at Drinking Horn Mead Hall. Photo by Teresa Bitler

On your first visit, it’s well worth it to order a flight; order two flights to share with a friend, and you both can sample nearly every mead the Drinking Horn makes. My favorites were black cherry, strawberry, and lemon ginger, but the traditional mead was pretty amazing, too.

Flagstaff is one of the state’s best destinations for beer lovers. You will no doubt enjoy the cooler Northern Arizona as you sip your way through the city on the Flagstaff Brewery Trail. Wander has many great things you can explore during your time in Arizona .

Flagstaff, located just a couple of hours north of Phoenix, is a great place to escape the triple-digits in Phoenix, Arizona. Not only is Flagstaff a great base for exploring the Grand Canyon, Route 66, and Meteor Crater, it is also home to some of the best breweries in the state. ARIZONA , WHERE TO DRINK

The Best Breweries in Flagstaff

April 5, 2021

flagstaff az brewery tour

We love visiting cities that give us a wide variety of things to do— so there are few cities in the West we love more than Flagstaff. There’s skiing, there’s hiking, there’s camping. There are nearby lakes for boating, there are museums for exploring. And, of course, for those who love to sit around drinking local craft beer on vacation like us, there are several outstanding breweries in Flagstaff.

Our first visit to Flagstaff was after the COVID shutdown, so many of the breweries we visited had limited indoor options, were undergoing renovations, or generally operating under different circumstances than they normally would. We’ll update this article when we return to Flagstaff next month, in hopes of getting even more of a “normal” craft brewery experience there… but regardless, we had a fantastic enough time and drank enough beer to feel like we could share with the world our favorite craft breweries in the city.

flagstaff az brewery tour

Dark Sky Brewing

For those of you that don’t know, Flagstaff is a “Dark Sky City,” meaning light pollution is kept by law to a minimum so residents can enjoy the stars at night. Before sitting outside and taking in the constellations, you should grab some cans from Dark Sky Brewing . This small micro brewery puts out a never-ending stream of limited releases and barrel-aged products to keep you coming back for more. Indeed, every time we casually peruse what they’re serving, they are *very* few beers overlapping— they value experimentation here and are always trying something new.

When we visited last fall, the last of their available IPAs had just sold out both in cans and on tap— so we’re hoping to update this article later this month, as we’ve heard great things about their IPAs. What we did get to have, though, was fantastic. The Bake Sale Blueberry was the best sour beer in Flagstaff during our stay— it’s a fruited mixed fermentation sour packed with blueberries that delivers a serious pucker-inducing punch. For those into the pastry stouts, the Don’t Stop Believing was a sugary fluffernutter dessert delicacy that would please anyone who likes them sweet. Finally, in the warm afternoon sun of our visit, the Weight of Sound with Amarillo was a crisp, clean pilsner we could’ve sipped all day.

flagstaff az brewery tour

Historic Brewing

This is going to be a tough one to write, because as we started to write this article, we discovered Historic Brewing ‘s eastside brewery taproom is closing for dine-in services early May 2021. We haven’t visited their downtown spot yet, but best believe it’s on our list for our next visit, because we believe the terrific time we had at Historic will carry over to any of their locations. Any spot with people this friendly and with flight boards that go eight pours deep will always be held in high esteem by us. (And we had two full flight boards during our visit to Historic, which should tell you the type of afternoon we were having.)

Their most popular beer is the Piehole Porter, and we understood pretty quickly upon our first sip why it’s so popular. It’s a beer for anyone who digs cherry vanilla soda, as the sweet fruitiness here hits the spot. They also put out a number of Piehole variants– our favorite on our visit was the SpeedHole, a Piehole Porter made with Single Speed Coffee cold brew. (Regular readers know how much we love a good coffee beer.) We also enjoyed much of their easy drinking fare– the Deer Lord was a clean, malty altbier, and the Salt River Lager was a salty limey crusher that would be great for any outdoor activity. Finally, we have to give love to their smoky, toasty Russian Imperial stout, Bear Arms.

Mother Road Brewing

Mother Road is the craft brewery that will likely be the most different when we next visit. They were planning a total taproom overhaul when we arrived, so everything was outdoors not just due to the pandemic but due to exciting updates and expansions of their indoor area. That said, no matter the changes, we’re confident in one thing: Mother Road will serve you some of the finest, if not *the* finest, beer in Flagstaff. From quality of product and consistency of execution to the sense of community their taproom fosters, Mother Road Brewing left us asking, “… how can we get them to open another location in LA?”

For starters, get some Tower Station, the highest-selling independent craft beer in Arizona. It sells for a reason: it’s one of the most wonderfully balanced unfiltered craft IPAs on the market. If you tend to like your beers a little lighter, Mother Road has you covered there too, as the Daily Driver session IPA is one of the best canned sessions we’ve had in years. It has that sessionable crushability, but it also packs serious IPA flavor. Finally, we give a strong recommendation for Lost Highway, a terrific black IPA. We’re still waiting for the Black IPA Renaissance to take the country by storm, as we love the style— and if any could lead the way in Arizona, it’s this rich, toasty masterwork.

Wanderlust Brewing

When we told people we were going to visit Flagstaff and asked for recommendations, everyone said the same thing: “If you like Belgians, go to Wanderlust .” Now, here we are, about to give the same recommendation to you. They have a great and well-earned reputation in the area for their sour beers, their saisons, and their barrel-aged beers. Most breweries in the area are canning their IPAs, but not too many will cheerfully offer you their newly canned Belgian pale ale. It’s *that* kind of place. And we’re very much into that kind of place.

The aforementioned Belgian pale, Chateau Americana, has a nice clean hop profile but still sparkles with that Belgian yeasty spiciness– it was one of our favorite beers of the trip. Their flagship saison, the 928 Local, was also smooth and refreshing, so clearly they’ve figured out how to get the most of their house yeast. For those looking for something less Belgian, never fear: the Pine Flat IPA is a very pine-heavy (as you’d expect) West Coast IPA that transported us to the Pacific Northwest. Finally, the Pan American Stout was our favorite stout of the trip: an oatmeal stout with strong coffee vanilla flavor, straight-forward yet beautifully executed. We also tried the Pan American on Nitro and found it even creamier and more delicious in that format.

Drinking Horn Meadery

Okay, so Drinking Horn Meadery isn’t a brewery. So what? We at the Beer Travel Guide love a good meadery as much as the next person, so when we discovered Flagstaff had its own Nordic-themed mead hall, we decided we had to give it a try. The decor inside is delightful, with long tables, helmets on the wall, and, of course, a variety of large drinking horns on display. You can even order a full pour of mead with a horn, and you get to choose your own horn to take home with you. Did Russell do this? You bet he did.

On top of the fun experience, it’s also home to a number of fantastic meads. The Lemon Ginger is a sweet lemon mead with a real blast of ginger— we love ginger flavored drinks, so this was an early favorite. Merica was another winner of the night, with blueberry and hibiscus flavors that made it sweet but not *too* floral. That said, Russell’s a root beer connoisseur (in addition to a craft beer connoisseur!), so the Root Bee Ah called his name. That’s the mead he ordered for his horn pour, and boy, was it worth it. It tastes just like a boozy glass of IBC Root Beer, and it made the perfect nightcap— or should we say nighthorn?

Welcome to The Beer Travel Guide! People often ask us where to drink craft beer when they visit various cities, so we decided to make a site that could hopefully help everyone looking for local craft when they travel.

You’ll find our detailed brewery hop recommendations for various American cities here. You’ll also find lists of breweries for a number of cities, lists which include valuable research like whether they serve food and what their hours of operation are. That way, you can make your own hop! If you don’t see the city you want to explore on there, contact us and let us know!

We also have pieces about beer festivals we’ve attended, wrapping up the experience and shouting out our favorite beers that were served. You can read our coverage of festivals we’ve covered in the past two years, including the Firestone Walker Invitational , Great American Beer Fest , Carnival of Caffeination , Sour Friends Fest , Extreme Beer Fest , and many more!

We’ve recently launched a TikTok account, posting daily funny and/or informative videos about craft beer. Please give us a follow there.

We have a list of every beer we’ve tried this year– we’ve already crossed 650 beers for the year, so see what we’ve had and what we recommend!

We’ll also post occasional blog entries, news stories, and more! Please check out our FAQ , and if you think our site is missing something or contains inaccurate information, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Closures and hour changes are happening rapidly, so before assuming our information is fully accurate, always be sure to double check on the breweries’ social media accounts.

Finally, please sign up for the newsletter below– we haven’t been updating as much during the pandemic for obvious reasons, but when regular updates begin again (and they will soon), signing up for the newsletter is the best way to make sure you don’t miss out.

Thanks so much for visiting– we hope you come back soon, and we hope beer travels return to normal as soon as the world will allow. Cheers!

Last-minute Memorial Day 2024 getaways in Arizona: 5 cool weekend road trips

Memorial Day weekend changes things. The calendar claims that weeks of spring still remain on the books. But for all intents and purposes, it’s hello, summer. The holiday also provides a chance to get out of town for a wonderful stretch.

While backyard barbecues and pool parties are great, there’s a whole lot of Arizona just waiting for you. Take this opportunity to head someplace cool or wet or both. For a few glorious days, you can refresh and recharge. Now you’re ready to face the summer. At least until the July 4 break.

Here are some of Arizona’s best Memorial Day getaways.

For more ways to observe Memorial Day 2024, here are metro Phoenix events where you can honor military members and their families as well as the best things to do on Memorial Day weekend in Phoenix .

What to do in Flagstaff on Memorial Day weekend

Celebrate wupatki national monument's centennial.

On the quiet prairie northeast of Flagstaff the pueblos of Wupatki National Monument rise like red-boned ghosts above swaying grasses.

The eruption of Sunset Crater in 1085 covered the dry basin with volcanic ash and cinders, creating arable terrain. Soon afterward, Ancestral Puebloans moved in and built the freestanding dwellings that appear almost as natural rock formations.

This year Wupatki celebrates its centennial as a national monument. Short pathways lead to up-close encounters with a handful of these ancient structures. Behind the visitor center, a paved trail leads to Wupatki Pueblo, the largest dwelling in the park. The sprawling three-story ruin contains nearly 100 rooms and straddles an outcropping of sandstone.

Admission is $25 per vehicle and covers both Wupatki and Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument, connected by a scenic road.

Details: 928-679-2365,  nps.gov/wupa .

Tackle the Flagstaff Extreme Adventure Course

After your visit to Wupatki and Sunset Crater, you’ll have the rest of the weekend to experience Arizona’s summer capital. Why not sample the tree-top thrills of Flagstaff Extreme Adventure Course at Fort Tuthill County Park?

Conquer rope swings, climbing walls, hanging nets, wobbly bridges and ziplines. There are multiple circuits on the adult playground, plus a course designed for children ages 7-11. Adult course costs $60, as does the zipline adventure, or combine the two for $99. Children’s course is $30.

If you prefer indoor activities, FlagTagAZ offers ax and knife throwing, laser tag, darts, arcade games and more. They also serve beer, wine and mead in their pizza café.

Flagstaff Brewery Trail

Speaking of beer, there’s something supremely satisfying about a day spent walking around Flagstaff’s historic downtown and Southside neighborhoods with their eclectic collections of shops, galleries, restaurants and, yes, craft breweries.

There are eight breweries to be exact, all waiting to quench your thirst with a cold craft beer. You can download a digital passport and score a free commemorative pint glass.

You really should see Canyon de Chelly. Here's how

At Canyon de Chelly National Monument in northeastern Arizona, sheer cliffs plunge hundreds of feet to lush bottomlands lined with crops, pastures and cottonwood trees.

It’s a staggering blend of high drama and pastoral beauty. The scenic canyon shelters thousands of archaeological sites while dozens of Navajo families still live and farm there during warmer months.

Take one day to travel the rim drives for the stunning vistas. The North Rim Drive is 17 miles with three overlooks at prominent cliff dwellings and is best in the morning. The South Rim Drive, 19 miles with seven viewpoints, is even more spectacular, and is especially exquisite when afternoon light floods the canyon.

Then take another day to explore the inner canyon with a Navajo guide. Private operators offer jeep, horseback or hiking outings. You’ll find a list at navajonationparks.org . Park admission is free; there are fees for tours.

Tours also leave daily from Thunderbird Lodge (928-674-5842,  thunderbirdlodge.com ) within the park.

Navajo Nation Parks & Recreation also manages Cottonwood Campground near the Canyon de Chelly visitor center. The campground has grills, picnic tables and restrooms. No showers or hookups are available. Maximum RV length is 40 feet. For information call 928-674-2106.

Fool Hollow Lake: Fish, hike or take a swim

Nestled in the pines outside of Show Low, 149-acre Fool Hollow Lake Recreation Area contains one of the loveliest bodies of water in the White Mountains, which is high praise indeed. There’s big open water and isolated coves, quiet marshes and long channels.

This is the kind of lake that makes you want to jump in a kayak and go exploring. Fortunately, you can. Canoe, kayak and paddleboard rentals are available from J&T’s WildLife Outdoors at the east boat launch ramp (928-892-9170,  jtwildlifeoutdoors.com ). They also offer a guided pontoon boat tour. You can learn about Adair, the town submerged beneath the water.

Landlubbers can hike the 1.5-mile trail running along the edge of the lake. Anglers try their luck landing rainbow trout, bass, walleye, northern pike and more. And yes, swimming is permitted. Fool Hollow also has campsites for tents and RVs. Reserve your spot online or by calling 877-697-2757. Park admission is $7 per vehicle Mondays-Thursdays and $10 per vehicle Fridays-Sundays and on holidays.

Scenic drive: Traverse more than 460 curves on the Coronado Trail

The Coronado Trail National Scenic Byway, a segment of U.S. 191, twists and turns for 123 miles between Morenci and Springerville in eastern Arizona. The road parallels the New Mexico state line and is the nation’s curviest and least-traveled federal highway.

Expect a 6,000-foot elevation change as the Coronado Trail climbs from cactus-strewn desert to lush alpine meadows and aspen-clad mountains with more than 460 curves along the way. Francisco Vasquez de Coronado is thought to have followed this route centuries ago as he searched for the Seven Cities of Gold.

The road passes the mining towns of Clifton and Morenci and curves around one of the world’s largest open pit mines. It snakes its way up narrow Chase Canyon and switchbacks through scrubby woodland that gives way to dense pine forests as you climb.

The Coronado Trail skirts the edge of the Blue Range Primitive Area, where Mexican gray wolves roam. Stop at the high perch of Blue Vista Point for incredible views and to breathe the cool mountain air. Oxygen at 9,100 feet just seems to have a fragrance all its own.

Beyond Hannagan Meadow Lodge, the road softens its tone. The curves are lazier as it winds through forest to alpine ringed by mountains. From here, continue past brush-covered plateaus and the shimmering waters of Nelson Reservoir to the towns of Springerville and Eagar nestled in Round Valley, an idyllic spot to land on Memorial Day weekend.

Meet Roger Naylor

The Highlands Center is tucked away amid the pine trees and serves as an educational hub. There are discovery gardens and trails on the property. Books will be for sale after the talk. The event is free to attend; donations for the venue are gratefully accepted.

Details: 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 15. Highlands Center for Natural History, 1375 S. Walker Road, Prescott. 928-776-9550,  highlandscenter.org .

Visit This Experimental Small Town Outside Flagstaff, AZ

  • Visit Arcosanti, a visionary project in Arizona showcasing sustainable urban planning concepts by architect Paolo Soleri.
  • Take a guided tour of this experimental town founded in 1970 to understand its mission and innovative approach to city design.
  • Stay the night at Arcosanti starting at $106, offering a unique experience in accommodation designed through the arcology concept.

Arcosanti is one of the most unique towns in the United States. Town designs are constantly evolving and developing, but Arcosanti is seeking to take change and innovation to a new level. It is the world's first town built with the arcology concept and is one of the most scenic small towns to explore in Arizona .

Arocsanti is arguably one of those attractions in Arizona best known to locals . It is a visionary project trying to offer a more sustainable and environmentally friendly way of building a city and is a project of the nonprofit organization, The Cosanti Foundation . Here's what to know about visiting this small experimental town outside Flagstaff.

Arcosanti: Arizona's Experimental Town North Of Phoenix

Arconsanti was founded in 1970 to showcase unique economically friendly concepts.

Arcosanti is an experimental town in Arizona's Yavapai County using the concept of arcology. Arcology is the fusion of architecture with ecology and is a comprehensive urban perspective.

The idea is that cities should be compact and function as a living system. It is a concept proposed by the Italian-American architect Paolo Soleri (1919 to 2013). He first started to build the town in 1970 to demonstrate his concept.

" Arcology is the fusion of arc hitecture with ec ology , a comprehensive urban perspective. In nature, as organisms evolve, they increase in complexity and become a more compact system. A city should similarly evolve, functioning as a living system." - Arcosanti

Arcosanti is located only 70 miles north of Phoenix at an altitude of 3,732 feet. In accordance with the ideas of arcology, the town is built in a way to minimize environmental impact. It seeks to find an alternative to modern urban sprawl and destructive urban planning.

  • Founded: 1970
  • Population: 50-150 (previously planned 5,000)
  • Size: 25 acres

Ground was broken in 1970 and the last building was completed in 1989. The plan had been for the town to have a population of 5,000 but instead, it has had a population between 50 and 150 people (many of whom are students and volunteers). The town is being built on 25 acres in a 4,060-acre preserve.

Most of the buildings face south to capture the sun's rays; they are designed to capture as much of the sun's heat as possible in the winter and as least as possible in the summer.

7 Arizona Road Trips That All End At The Grand Canyon

How to visit arcosanti & its guided tours, arcosanti is open most days of the year and offers a range of in-depth guided tours of the experimental town.

This month I had the unique opportunity to try City Brew Tours, the nation's #1 Brewery Tour, founded in 2008. Holly Pigeon, local franchise owner, officially started operations on June 15th of this year in Phoenix. Offering public and private tours for craft beer lovers or those seeking an education in beer, City Brew Tours blend together the history of beer, beer knowledge, and great food and beer tasting. The tour will be led by local beer experts, who will guide guests through each brewery, providing behind-the-scenes access, and share their beer knowledge. The tours include transportation, beer tastings, and customized meals, and education in beer-making. Included is a lanyard with cards featuring the brewing process, flavor profiles of beer, flavor wheels, food and beer pairings. On our tour, we visited Phoenix Beer Co., where we went behind the scenes for a tour of the brewery while sipping on signature and seasonal beers. I loved the White Chocolate Lager and picked up some 6-packs, which the team stored in their cooler on the van until the end of the tour. Our next stop was Fate Brewing, where we enjoyed some truly unique beers such as the Hatch Chile Gatos, a classic golden ale aged on fresh-roasted hatch chiles, paired with a wood-fired pizza, The Jess, with Garlic oil, mozzarella, parm, ricotta, baby spinach, crispy bacon, and roasted garlic. The tours will run from Thursdays to Sundays. The Original Brew Tour is priced at $110/person, offering four stops in five hours, including up to 16 beer samples, a beer- paired lunch, and round-trip transportation. Meanwhile, the Sip of Phoenix Tour is priced at $85/person, providing three stops in three and a half hours, including up to 12 beer samples, locally curated snacks, and round-trip transportation. With over a decade of experience, City Brew Tours has created the ultimate craft beer experience that blends history, beer knowledge, transportation, and great food!

Such a fun experience! It made for the perfect group date night. Van rides between breweries were comfortable and went by very quickly. Matt, our tour guide, was awesome and very knowledgeable about beer brewing and the breweries we visited. Got to tour & taste at Fate Brewing, Walter Station, and Shop Beer Co. Would definitely recommend for a fun and different date night or group outing.

This was a great night. I always have so many places I want to try and it's hard to hit them all. This tour was a great way to check a few places off the list at once. It was great but worrying about driving from place to place, didn't have to worry how busy the brewery would be, and made me branch out to try beers I never would have ordered and was surprised how many of them I liked. This was a great night out for date night or group of friends. Matt did a great job showing us behind the scenes and how the beer is made. He also helped the group get to know each other on the van instantly creating a fun and welcoming environment. I loved the popcorn with the sip tour but I can't wait to go back and do the full tour and have a meal with it too!

What a fun time! Matt was a great tour guide. Enthusiastic and knowledgeable! My husband, daughter and I had a great time tasting new beers, getting a look behind the scenes and meeting new people. We toured three great local breweries! Having a driver and a super comfortable ride in the van was a plus. We will definitely be gathering more friends to do another tour with @citybrewtoursphx.

This company parked their van at the exit of a parking garage blocking everyone in. we called the company and no one answered. It took them 35 mins to move the van. The cars were finally able to leave. They called us back after we left

This is an awesome experience. From the beer selections to the breweries, the guide provided a knowledgeable but fun environment. Highly recommend

My tour was so much fun! We went to three breweries where we learned about how beer is made. I tried new styles of beers including a tasty chocolate one that I bought a full size of to enjoy later at home. We also got a popcorn snack to eat at the last brewery which I loved! Highly recommend and will be back for another tour soon.

I had so much fun at City Brew Tours Phoenix. I really enjoyed being driven around town tasting great beer and learning something behind the scenes of beer brewing. We stopped at some very popular beer breweries like San Tan Gardens and Phoenix Beer Company. Had some yummy food at 12 West. The Van was comfortable and we have lots of laughs with the beer guide David. It was a no stress afternoon not having to drive around or spend a fortune ubering around to all these places. I'll be giving them more business soon, sign up, you won't be sorry! Thanks City Brew Tours!

Me and my wife (left) had such a fun time trying out some unique beers. The food was provided by the tour from 12 West, Tacos and apps.

I was fortunate to be on their "launch night" this past Thursday, June 1st. Had an amazing time with Isaac talking about beer styles and how to properly taste and enjoy beers, and going behind the scenes to look at the brewery equipment and hear about the process. Holly was an amazing host and I look forward to doing this again!
