Port Punta Gorda Florida cruise ship schedule shows timetable calendars of all arrival and departure dates by month. The port's schedule lists all ships (in links) with cruises going to or leaving from Punta Gorda Florida, Fishermen's Village. To see the full itineraries (ports of call dates and arrival / departure times) and their lowest rates – just follow the corresponding ship-link.

Punta Gorda is a port city in Southwest Florida (Charlotte County), with population around 20,000. Cruise ships to Punta Gorda FL dock at Fishermen's Village along Charlotte Harbor). Florida's cruise port has a namesake - Belize's Punta Gorda .

As cruise port, Punta Gorda FL was introduced in 2023 by the USA's largest domestic cruise shipping company ACL-American Cruise Lines . The 7-night/8-day "Florida Gulf Coast and Keys" itinerary (roundtrip from Tampa) was specifically designed for ACL's newbuild Coastal Cats/catamarans and was first operated by American Glory .

On this ACL ex-Florida voyage, on days 3 and 4 the ship stays in Key West overnight. This allows tourists to explore Key West City on Day 3 (with a complimentary guided tour to the Ernest Hemingway Home & Museum) and the Dry Tortugas National Park on Day 4 (visiting Fort Jefferson/Civil War prison).

A major local attraction is the Sunseeker Resort Charlotte Harbor. Florida's newest luxury resort (officially opened on December 23, 2023) is owned by Sunseeker Resorts, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Allegiant Travel Company (1999-founded, the parent/owner of Allegiant Air/ultra-low-cost USA airline). The luxury property is in Charlotte Harbor (Florida's second-largest harbor) across Punta Gorda. Both are directly linked via two bridges - Barron Collier Bridge, and Peace River Bridge.

The settlement was founded in the late-19th-century (1879/as Charlotte Harbor, renamed Trabue in 1883) and was incorporated (as Punta Gorda) in 1887. It started to develop after 1886, when it became the southern terminus of the Florida Southern Railway (1879-chartered as "Gainesville, Ocala, and Charlotte Harbor Railroad"/from Lake City FL to Charlotte Harbor, renamed in 1881 to Florida Southern Railway). In 1904, the railroad was additionally extended to Fort Myers .

Punta Gorda Airport has three runways and serves regularly scheduled domestic flights (by Allegiant Air) and seasonal flights (by Sun Country Airlines and Allegiant Air). Regular flights (year-round) link to destinations in New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Texas, Illinois, Kentucky, Iowa, Michigan, Indiana, West Virginia, Missouri, Tennessee, Minnesota, Rhode Island. Seasonal flights connect Punta Gorda FL with airports in Maryland ( Baltimore ), Maine ( Bangor ), Virginia ( Norfolk , Richmond), Georgia ( Savannah ), Nebraska (Omaha), South Dakota (Rapid City, Sioux Falls), as well as with Traverse City MI . In 2007 was inaugurated the airport's new Bailey Terminal. In 2019, Punta Gorda Airport served ~81340 flights (~222 daily) of which 84% general cargo, 14% airline, 2% small commercial aircraft/taxis, and ~1% military aircraft.

The city's main tourist attractions are historic buildings (many are listed in the USA's National Register of Historic Places), including A.C. Freeman House, Clarence Babcock House, H.W. Smith Building, Villa Bianca, Old First National Bank/Old Merchants Bank, the Atlantic Coast Line Depot, the Ice Plant, the Woman's Club, the Charlotte High School, the entire Residential District.

Fishermen's Village (1980-established) is a waterfront leisure complex located along Charlotte Harbor. Fishermen's Village Pier attracts tourists with various shopping, dining and entertainment options (30+ venues, many with live music), as well as a resort-style vacation destination featuring luxury accommodations and a premium Yacht Marina.

Fishermen's Village Pier (1928-built as Maud Street City Dock) replaced the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad's Dock (1897-built at King Street, later demolished to allow the construction of the Barron Collier Bridge). The Pier was initially utilized by commercial fishing boats and later rented by the Gulf Coast Oil Company and Matt Week's Boat Shop.

In 1977, Maud Street City Dock was purchased by Earl Nightingale V (1921-1989/American radio speaker and author), developed (by Don Donelson) and officially opened in 1980 as the current Fishermen's Village. In 2012, the complex was acquired by Arciterra Group LLC (2005-founded, Phoenix Arizona-based real estate investment, development, and management company). In June 2023, US Bancorp ( Minneapolis Minnesota -based bank holding) filed the property for commercial foreclosure.

What’s the largest cruise ship in the world, how much should i budget for an alaskan cruise.

King Fisher Fleet

Christmas Light Canal Cruise Helpful Info

Do i need to make a reservation.

These trips are very popular and they do fill up, so advance reservations are needed. Some of the departures sell out weeks or even months in advance! We never overbook and there is always seating for everyone.

What is your accessibility?

Following is information regarding accessibility on our tour boats. If you have questions, concerns or need more information please contact us at 941-639-0969. We recommend that if you or any of your guests have mobility challenges that you contact us prior to booking so we can discuss how best to assist.

None of our boats are “accessible” by ADA guidelines, and they are not required to be due to their small size. We cannot roll a wheelchair onto the boats but we regularly accommodate people who can get out of their wheelchair and be helped aboard. We have set up our boarding facilities and procedures to safely accommodate as many people as possible. Most people who walk with canes or walkers find that boarding is a comfortable process as long as they can negotiate a few steps up or down. For those that use manual wheelchairs but can take a few assisted steps, we can fold up the wheelchair and bring it aboard.

We offer pre-boarding for anyone who has mobility challenges and needs extra time or assistance. Please alert us to this when you make your reservations.

Our vessels “Charlotte Lady”  and “Helen M” are two-deck vessels with approximately half of the seating on the upper deck and half on the lower deck. Boarding is onto the lower deck. Restrooms and bar are found on the lower deck. There is a flight of stairs to the upper deck, similar to household stairs but with a continuous handrail on each side. All doors on the vessels have a sill of several inches in height which must be stepped over to pass through the doorways. This includes the entry doors into the cabin on the lower deck, the doors to the bathrooms, and the doors to the wheelhouse on the upper deck.

The waiting area for boarding is open air and is paved. There are benches available for those that are unable to stand while waiting to board. There are two steps down from the boarding area onto the pier with handrails on each side of the steps. The entryway onto each boat is approximately 15 feet out the pier which is a level concrete surface with handrails on each side. Depending on tide there can be as many as three steps from the pier up to the level of the gangway. These steps have a handrail on the right hand side. The gangway is approximately five feet in length with handrails on each side and can have an incline up or down depending on the tide level. There is a step of approximately three inches in height onto and off each end of the gangway. Once off the gangway there is a door sill to step over to enter the main cabin. At no time will you or your guests need to step over open water.

The above applies to boarding and disembarking at our docks at Fishermen’s Village in Punta Gorda. Please note that if you take a destination cruise with us the dockage/boarding is somewhat different at each destination. If you or a guest have mobility challenges please contact us at 941-639-0969 to discuss the details about boarding/disembarking at any destination other than our home dock.

Please contact us at 941-639-0969 with questions or concerns.

What time should I arrive?

Boarding time is 15 minutes prior to departure, but we recommend that you check in at our ticket office at least 30 minutes prior to departure to pick up your boarding passes. Seating is not pre-assigned and seats are selected on a first-come, first-served basis. If you have a preference for a specific seat or certain area on the boat, then we suggest that you get in line early. We run on schedule so if you arrive even a few minutes past departure time you will miss your boat.

Can I be on the same boat as my friends?

There are several boats involved so if you want to be on the same boat as someone else who made a reservation, make sure you select the same boat as them when you purchase your tickets online, or mention this to us if you reserve by phone. Note: A reservation will never have the members of the reservation split onto different boats, so if for example you made one reservation for a group of six people, those six will always be on the same boat.

What should I wear?

This is Florida, but you’re going out on a boat at night in December. Dress warm if it’s chilly.

What kind of drinks and food do you have on the boat?

We offer cocktails, beer, wine, soda, water, and coffee, along with snacks such as chips, crackers, and cookies on our Charlotte Lady and Helen M boats. There is no food service available on our boats running Private Tours (6 passenger max boats).

Are there bathrooms on the boats?

All of the boats we use for our Christmas Light Canal Cruises have bathrooms.

Can I bring alcohol on the boat?

Alcoholic beverages cannot be brought on the Helen M and Charlotte Lady tour boats, but can be brought on the Private Tour boats (6 passenger max boats). There are full bars with drinks available for purchase on the Helen M and Charlotte Lady.

Do the large tour boats see the same Christmas lights as the smaller private boats?

Yes, all the boats see the same lights on the same canals. The boats do vary which boat visits which canal first so they don’t all wind up in a traffic jam, but they all see all the same canals on each trip.

Will all the Lights be up by December 1? Will they all still be up by December 31?

Probably not. This is not a commercial display, we are viewing displays at dozens and dozens of private residences. Some people put their displays up later in the month and some take them down before the end of the month, but most are in place for most of the month.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require 24 hour notice for cancellation of cruises. Participants who fail to show for a cruise reservation or cancel without 24 hour notice (e-mail or confirmed phone call) will not receive any refund. Cancellations made before 24 hours of your scheduled event will receive a full refund. Cruises depart on time. No refunds will be issued for late arrivals.

For Private Tours, we require 48 hour notice for cancellation.

Can I bring my dog?

How far are you from.

Englewood: 45 minutes

Sarasota: 1 hr to 1 hr 15 minutes

Venice: 45 minutes

Ft. Myers: 40 minutes to 1 hour

Do I have to wear closed toe shoes on the boat?

Closed toe shoes are recommended for your safety, however we will not prevent you from coming on board if you are wearing something else. High heeled shoes are not permitted onboard.

Can I smoke on the boat?

Cabbage Key Day Trip From Fisherman's Village, Punta Gorda, FL

Today, 12/15/18, my friend Donna and I were booked on a day cruise departing from Fisherman's Village in Punta Gorda on a King Fisher Fleet boat. It was easy to purchase tickets online in advance but you can also purchase tickets at the outdoor ticket booth right outside of Fisherman's Village, on the Marina side of the building. We were given clear and concise information on boarding procedure, suggestions on things we might want to bring, such as a camera, a hat, sun screen, etc. and were also told when we asked, about what to wear for maximum comfort and my questions were all answered politely. We got to the ticket booth and received our tickets without any problem, waited for a just a short time at the dock, and we boarded on time, with no delays. Donna and I are in our 60's and we appreciated the support and help in boarding. We wore comfortable walking shoes so we had no issues whatsoever getting onboard the double- decker boat. It was a drizzly grey day, around 63F, so we wore light layers including lightweight pants, tees and an extra layer for warmth as it can get breezy and chilly on the water during the winter months. We chose to sit in seats on the lower level as it was warmer in there, and had easy access to the two bathrooms or heads on board. Captain Ricky was reassuring and quite humorous which put everyone at ease. We listened to his brief but informative talk about Cabbage Key and its very interesting history, he gave us an overview of what to expect on the island and also went over safety information concerning life jackets and general safety. Snacks and.beverages are available for purchase but we had brought water bottles from home as well as our own snacks. We were a very small group, probably because the drizzle may have kept some people away. We had our choice of very comfortable seats either on the main level, which was comfortably roofed and enclosed with good views and easily opened windows or the upper level, accessible by a flight of stairs withhandrails. The upper level offers super viewing, it is more open and airy, and also has comfortable seating. The bathrooms were clean and well equipped. We got underway and the smooth and comfortable ride included a brief stop at Cayo Costa to drop off some beach seekers and overnight campers. On our way, we were thrilled to see multiple dolphins surfing alongside the boat. They leaped three at a time in the air slapping the water with their bodies over and over again and at one point we saw more than 10 dolphins in a single pod who performed for us, much to our absolute delight. They seemed excited and responsive to our cheers and applause and seemed to smile as they looked right at us with their expressive eyes!. I took a bunch of photos and video footage and was eager to review all with my husband who was unable to make the trip due to other commitments. Aside from Captain Ricky, there were other crew members available to answer questions, to show us nautical maps and point out landmarks as well as keep us informed as to where we were at any given time and where we were going, and explained about some of the other islands nearby as well. Michael and Ken took time with us to answer questions and chat in a very personable and friendly way. Captain and crew were all interested in making our trip a wonderful one! The trip took about two and one half hours each direction and we had time to enjoy lunch at the island restaurant. Dollar bills hang in profusion from the ceiling and walls! There is patio dining as well as indoor dining. The menu has many selections. Try the Cheeseburgers! Yum! On the island, there are protected gopher tortoises, and we got to see one lumbering around...quite big! There are walking trails but it was too wet outdoors from the rain so we chose to pass on the walking today. There is boat dockage available for boaters. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner by the way. After lunch we looked in the gift shop, then boarded for the return. The weather cleared and we were able to enjoy a sunny and smooth ride back to Fishermans Village. The best part was that we had dolphins accompany us on the way back! They peeled away just as we approached the dock, as if to say goodbye! Bottlenosed Dolphins are just one species you may see. There are pelicans, osprey and other birds, flying fish, manatees near the docks, and more. This trip was fun! There are other cruises available. Try a half day trip to Burnt Store Marina, or a full day trip such as this one to Cabbage Key or any other trips offered by the King Fisher Fleet. Donna and I enjoyed ourselves so much that we booked the Christmas Lights Canal cruise for next week! Prices are reasonable and for those who may want to cruise frequently there is a special pass available for purchase. At the end of our trip today, Captain Ricky held a drawing and there was one lucky winner of just such a pass! And hang on to your ticket stubs as you will receive $1 off of your next cruise!

Captain Rick and his crew were amazing! They really go out of their way to make it a great experience! My 9 year old son loved it and we will be making this a new Christmas tradition!

We sailed with Captain Ralph along with his crew, Alan and Mike. The boat was immaculate. They were on time. They played Christmas music as well as commentated as we went through the canals. We went with friends and we had a great time! Kudos to Ralph, Alan and Mike for their patience in helping the elderly people that departed the ship! I would definitely recommend doing this!

Excellent your, nice crew and very accommodating. They were on time and gave good information. We were a group of six and everyone enjoyed the tour.

One of my favorite holiday traditions is to drive around and look at lights and I got to do it on a boat!! Friendly staff - Captain Joe and Brenda and Brad!!

What beautiful cruises we have experienced on The King Fisher Fleet. We can leave the dog at home board the ship & enjoy the cruise. The annual pass has allowed us to experience each & every trip offered & is just a few miles from home. The Captain & Staff are friendly & make it so enjoyable. The wildlife sightings are amazing no matter how often you experience them. We have reservations to Boca Grande on our next trip & cannot wait for another relaxing & enjoyable day. Highly Recommended
