Inaugural Schedule Announced for ASA STARS National Tour

asa tour schedule

Macon, IL (December 10, 2022) – The highly anticipated 2023 schedule for the ASA STARS National Tour has been unveiled.  The inaugural pavement Super Late Model series will feature 10 major races in six different states with a $100,000 point fund.

Series officials made the announcement on Saturday during a meeting with drivers, crews, team owners and media at the Performance Racing Industry show in Indianapolis, IN.

“This schedule represents the best in pavement Super Late Model racing,” stated Bob Sargent, President of Track Enterprises, which owns and operates the STARS National Tour.  “We are proud to work with all the tracks on the schedule and we believe they will provide some great racing in 2023.  We know this schedule will be a great cross-section of Super Late Model racing in the U.S.”

The series previously announced its series opener on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, FL.  After a break in the month of April, teams will make the trek to the Midwest for the Joe Shear Classic at Madison Int’l Speedway in Wisconsin.

STARS will then venture to North Carolina for the next two stops.  On Tuesday, May 16 the national Super Late Model series will travel to the famed North Wilkesboro Speedway as part of the festivities during the NASCAR All-Star Race Weekend.  After that, it will be a stop at another legendary racetrack, Hickory Motor Speedway in late May or early June.  The official date is expected to be announced soon..

asa tour schedule

The month of August will see STARS travel back up to the Badger State for the prestigious Gandrud Auto Group 250 at Wisconsin Int’l Speedway.

The longstanding Glass City 200 at Toledo Speedway in Ohio will be the sole race in September.

The final two races of the inaugural season for the ASA STARS National Tour will find competitors battling in a pair of 400-lap events.  The Winchester 400 at the World’s Fastest Half-Mile, Winchester Speedway, will take place on Sunday, October 15.  As previously announced, the series championship will be decided at the All American 400 at the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway on Sunday, November 5, 2023.

With the exception of the All-American 400, all races are events derived from the regional Super Late Model Tours, the ASA / CRA Super Series, the ASA Midwest Tour and the ASA Southern Super Series.

Aṣa (born September 17, 1982) is the stage and performing name of Bukola Elemide, a Nigerian-French singer, songwriter and recording artist from Alagbole, Nigeria

Born in Paris, France but raised in Alagbole in the south-west of Nigeria, Elemide began singing during her parents’ absences from the house where she would seek out her father’s records. Inspired by smooth soul classics and a host of Nigerian music, Elemide grew up listening to Marvin Gaye, Fela Kuti, Bob Marley, Aretha Franklin and Lagbaja among others. With her distinctively low-pitched voice local churches weren’t keen on the singer joining their ranks despite her enthusiasm and desire.

In 2004 the singer was introduced to Cobhams Emmanuel Asuquo who became Elemide’s musical partner and producer. Asuquo gave the singer a direction of where to head without curtailing her creativity or heritage. For the first time in 20 years Elemide returned to Paris to test the waters of the French music scene after releasing her debut single in Nigeria “Eyë Adaba” followed by “Jailer” which were beginning to get radio airtime.

Shortly after she signed with Naïve Records and released her debut album “Aṣa” in 2007 which subsequently won the prestigious French Constantin Award in 2008, over 9 other artists. Her sound finds the fine balance between pop and neo-soul, careful Afrobeat inclusions and folksy instrumentation. Elemide’s second studio album “Beautiful Imperfection” came in October 2010 to positive reviews and featured the singles “Be My Man”, “Why Can’t We” and “The Way I Feel”. The album charted at No. 14 in the French Album chart outperforming her debut album, after which Elemide was nominated for the Female Artist of the Year at the French Music Awards.

In 2014 Elemide released her third studio album “Bed of Stone” which was produced by Blair MacKichan, a British producer, who has previously worked with Sia and Lily Allen.

Live reviews

Whether Asa takes the stage with an acoustic guitar or a full backing band she will do noting but amaze. She is able to keep a room of thousands of people still and silent with her minimal acoustic sets and is just as likely to get them out on the dance floor shaking their tail feathers to upbeat numbers like "Be My Man" .

She sings the majority of her songs in the English language but sometimes switches over to the Nigerian language. Just whatever suits the style of the song. She has a deep understanding of world music, but also posses the charisma of a pop musician. Through her employment of old cultural ideas in a pop construct she is able to introduce a wide range of people to interesting and previously underplayed geographical flavors.

Asa sometimes comes off as sounding like one of her major influences, Lauryn Hill. She by no means rips off her style, rather her performances comes across as a respectful homage. Such songs as "Jailer" features upstroke guitar patterns found in the reggae genre and her unsyncopated vocals over the chucks of the acoustic guitar gives off a sort of hip-hop vibe. Her music manages to have a compelling rhythm even without the use of drums and it is able to continuously move the listener further into the groove of her sound. Her voice is full and weathered radiating the soulful tendencies of Aretha Franklin or Bob Marley.

The quality of her vocals are so strong and resonant that it seems as though it could fit within any musical context. This is perhaps why it is such a treat to see her live. Her voice reaches to the souls of thousands just with the aid of a guitar or it functions as a complementary and sometimes competing force amongst bluesy bass lines and the lounge jazz contributions of the drums and piano. Whatever musical style, choice of instruments, or language she chooses to perform in she will have the audience in awe.

Nigerian-French singer/songwriter Asa has one of those voices that really makes you stop in your tracks and pay attention. The vocalist is a huge name on the world music circuit and her tickets sell fast when she comes to town. Performing in a very simplistic manner, she is accompanied by a guitarist and a number of backing vocalists who add a beautiful harmony to the music.

The pop jazz songs fluctuate between upbeat and catchy to laid back and extended jazz numbers which hark back to Asa's African routes. The albums have done well commercially in France yet the rest of Europe also welcome Asa to their venues with open arms. They are completely behind her whilst on stage and her humble nature means she appears quite reserved and awkward when the crowd gift her with huge rounds of applause. She says her gracious thank yous before beginning a tender and delicate rendition of 'Be My Man'. The very first single 'Fire on the Mountain' steals the show though and is without a doubt the performance of the night if you go by the reaction of the crowd.

Great show and good performance and good choice of songs. The sound was awful - too big for the small church "Kulturkurche Köln". Therefore not the best experience for me. The audience was enthusiastic though.

Other concerts in that church solo or accustic were great and had a good sound like Rhiannon Giddens and Kevin Morby.

sound was mixed much too loud for the church, was a mash of noise.

ASA stock cars are racing at the Milwaukee Mile this weekend. Here's what you need to know.

asa tour schedule

The Milwaukee Mile played a significant role in the history of the original ASA national tour from 1978-2004. Now nearly 20 years later, the latest iteration will arrive at State Fair Park in West Allis this weekend.

Initially planned as a Midwest Tour event as it has been, the Father’s Day 100 became an ASA STARS National Tour event in a schedule change last month.

The 10-race ASA STARS National Tour , which is in its first season, involves three races from the Midwest Tour and two other regional series as well as a stand-alone championship. The Mile race is still part of the Midwest Tour.

If you want to go to the event – or watch it online or on TV – here’s some key information:

What is the weekend schedule for the ASA STARS Tour at the Milwaukee Mile?

The track is to be open Saturday afternoon for practice sessions for the National Tour, Mid-Am Stock Car Series , Upper Midwest Vintage Racing Series , Midwest Truck Series and Vores Compact Touring Series .

Practice resumes at 9 a.m. Sunday, qualifying begins at 11 a.m. and racing is set to start at 1 p.m. with the featured event around 3 p.m.

How much are tickets?

Reserved seats in the upper levels are $30; general admission tickets for the 100 and 200 levels are $25. Tickets are available in advance via wistatefair.com .

Pit and infield passes will be available on race day.

There is a charge for parking on the grounds, $5 for motorcycles, $10 for cars and an additional $15 for infield.

Are the races from the Mile on television?

The Father’s Day 100 will be streamed on a pay-per-view basis on midwesttour.tv, racingamerica.tv and tracktv.com. A delayed broadcast is scheduled for 7 p.m. June 26 on MAVTV.

More: Key dates Wisconsin racing fans should know for 2023

Who are the favorites at the Milwaukee Mile?

It’s hard to handicap the field, given the limited history at the track – or even tracks of this size – for so many of the competitors. Handling, tire wear and strategy will be major factors.

Ty Majeski is one of the top barnstormers in the country, and the Seymour native did win a rain-shortened (then-ARCA) Midwest Tour race at the Mile in 2021.

The Wilson Motorsports powerhouse super late model team is bringing four cars, and any of its drivers could be a threat. Minnesota teen William Sawalich finished second at the Mile last year in Donnie Wilson’s single entry. Gio Ruggiero is the most recent winner on both the STARS tour and the ASA/CRA Super Series .

Casey Roderick is second in the standings and has more experience than many series regulars through the limited NASCAR and ARCA schedules he has run over the years in addition to late models and super late models.

2024 ASA Southern Super Series Schedule Announced

asa tour schedule

Officials with the ASA Southern Super Series are pleased to announce their 2024 schedule.  The schedule for the 12th season of the Southern Super Series will consist of 11 races at seven different tracks across five different states.

“We are thrilled to be talking about 2024 and we are just a few weeks away from having cars on the race track in January,” said Tim Bryant, General Manager of the Southern Super Series.  “We had a strong season in 2023 averaging nearly 30 cars across our events.  We are excited to continue our involvement with the ASA STARS National Tour and we will be co-sanctioning four races with them in 2024.”

The first three races have already been announced with the first being at Watermelon Capital Speedway at Crisp Motorsports Park in Cordele, GA on January 20th.  The annual SpeedFest event is a combination race with the ASA CRA Super Series.  This year the event will pay points to the Southern Super Series drivers.

A trip to the beach awaits drivers heading to race number two as the Southern Super Series will return to Smyrna Speedweeks on February 13th to run a co-sanctioned event with the ASA STARS National Tour. The Clyde Hart Memorial was the first points race in 2023 as William Byron picked up the win.

The third race of the season will be on Sunday, March 24th at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida.  The Deep South Cranes Blizzard Series opener will once again be co-sanctioned with the ASA STARS National Tour. Five Flags Speedway had the honor of hosting the first event back in 2023.  The race will be a doubleheader weekend with the ARCA East Series event.

For central Alabama fans, April 13th will be a sight to see as the Southern Super Series returns to Montgomery Motor Speedway (AL).  The event was washed out twice in 2023 and the fans and teams are eager to return to the historic half-mile.

The end of April will feature a return to the roots of Gulf Coast trips as the Southern Super Series will run a doubleheader weekend at Five Flags Speedway on Friday April 26th and then Mobile International Speedway (AL) on April 27th.  The stop at Five Flags is the second Blizzard race of the year. This will be the first Gulf Coast double since 2017 when Bubba Pollard won both weekends.

After a few weeks of recovery the Southern Super Series will then head to North Carolina for another combination event with the ASA STARS National Tour at Hickory Motor Speedway.  The May 23rd Thursday date should allow for NASCAR drivers to enter the event in North Carolina. This is the second year of the combination event that will feature a 250-lap race.

The summer officially kicks off with the series return to Five Flags Speedway for the third leg of the track’s Deep South Cranes Blizzard Series. This will be the only event in June for the Southern Super Series. The event will be held on June 28th.

Music City will be the destination for the ASA Southern Super Series come July.  The series will head there on July 13th to run their annual point race ahead of the All American 400 weekend. Nashville always seems to create new winners and next July might continue the trend.

During the dog days of summer we will see the series return to the Watermelon Capital Speedway at Crisp Motorsports Park (GA) for the Georgia Summer Nationals.  The August 10th event will take place on a Saturday in Central Georgia. This will be the second and final race of the year at the 3/8th of a mile track.

The points battle will come down to the finale race for both the Blizzard Series and the Southern Super Series at Five Flags Speedway on September 28th.  The annual champions night will be run as a doubleheader with the Pro Late Model division at Five Flags.

The final race on the schedule is a non-points event but is one of the biggest Super Late Model races in the country.  The All American 400 at Fairground Speedway (TN) will be co-sanctioned with the ASA STARS National Tour.  They will crown their second National Champion at the historic race on November 2nd.

Rory McIlroy coming into form as he enjoys packed PGA Tour schedule

The memorial at muirfield village will be the northern irish golfer’s 16th event of 2024.

asa tour schedule

The way Rory McIlroy has structured his playing schedule this year has meant one tournament has, for the most part, run into another. When the Northern Irishman tees up in this week’s Memorial tournament at Muirfield Village in Dublin, Ohio, it will be his 16th event of 2024 and the second of another four-week stretch.

In McIlroy’s world, these are all big tournaments. In following the RBC Canadian Open – a national open, which puts it high on his list given his repeated suggestions that such tournaments, among them the Amgen Irish Open, deserve greater recognition – with the Memorial, next week’s US Open and then The Travelers, another of the PGA Tour signature events, there is a competitive scorecard in the back pocket more often than there is not.

McIlroy’s form, of late, has certainly benefited from the increased playing schedule. With two wins, in the Zurich Classic (partnering Shane Lowry) and the Wells Fargo, McIlroy – who didn’t have a top-10 until the Texas Open in April – has now claimed four top-10s (including the two successes) in his last seven tournaments.

Certainly, with coach Michael Bannon working with him more frequently stateside, and also benefiting from a side visit to Butch Harmon before the Masters, the statistics as well as the results back up McIlroy’s belief that his driving especially is on song.

He is ranked fourth in strokes gained tee-to-green and third in strokes gain off-the-tee on the PGA Tour stats for the season and second in total driving. The one great anomaly, though, as it was in the Canadian Open, has been his second round scoring average which, following Ontario, ranked him 115th (averaging 70.5). That would appear to be the area that has to be addressed in the weeks and months ahead, with next week’s US Open the penultimate Major of the year and next month’s Open at Royal Troon thereafter.

Even McIlroy conceded after his final round in Canada – where he finished fourth behind Bob MacIntyre – that the damage was self-inflicted with his driving in the second round: “A good week, three really good rounds, one not so good one. I felt a little out of sorts Friday, did a good range session and sort of rectified it. Overall, three rounds out of four were really ... it was a solid week.”

As he added of the upcoming schedule, with yet another strong performance behind him, “We’re going into a big stretch ... you want to come to tournaments and try to win every single one that you play in, but I think to build off, especially the weekend here, going into Memorial next week, and then obviously going into the US Open the week after, we’ve got a lot of golf coming up, but really nice to see some good signs in my game this weekend.”

McIlroy has been a long-time participant at the Memorial, the tournament hosted by Jack Nicklaus. But he has never won. This will be his 13th time playing in the event (now one of the elevated signature events with a limited field and a $20 million purse), his best finish being tied-fourth in 2016.

As he has put it in the past of the Nicklaus design which has forced him to leave the driver in the bag more often than he’d like, “It takes the driver out of my hand a lot. A lot of the fairways bottle neck at like 330, 340 [yards]. The biggest weapon in my bag isn’t quite the weapon that it is at some other golf courses.”

McIlroy has remained in third in the updated world rankings, with the two men ahead of him, Scottie Scheffler and PGA champion Xander Schauffele back playing this week after short breaks. Shane Lowry, who was tied 33rd in Canada, and Séamus Power, who missed the cut, are also playing.

Leona Maguire missed back-to-back cuts in the Majors this season after failing to make the weekend at the US Open and has opted not to play in this week’s ShopRite Classic on the LPGA where Stephanie Meadow, who withdrew shortly before her first round tee time last week, is in the field.

Lauren Walsh, meanwhile, will look to continue her strong start to her rookie season the LET when she competes in the Volvo Scandinavian Mixed in Sweden – a unique event which features on both the DP World Tour and the LET – while Olivia Mehaffey is the second reserve.

ATEEZ world tour 2024 schedule, tickets, and more

Seeing 'Fireworks' live will be an out-of-body experience for ATINY.

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - FEBRUARY 08: Hong Joong of ATEEZ Global Spin Live: ATEEZ at The GRAMMY Museum on February 08, 2022 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Rebecca Sapp/Getty Images for The Recording Academy)

ATINY, I have a message for you: I’m manifesting that we all get tickets for ATEEZ in 2024. The stars have aligned, and people are finally recognizing how truly spectacular K-Pop is. At last, we are on the brink of seeing ATEEZ live, again. Life is good.

However, it would be even better if we could manage to secure some tickets. ATEEZ’s increased popularity also means that it is now harder than ever to snag tickets to watch our boys. Plus, Stray Kids are also gearing up to hit stages worldwide , so if you’re a multi, this means you’re more financially strained than ever ⏤ but that’s okay. Money comes and goes, but ATEEZ is forever.

If you’re wondering about the exact dates for the concerts and where to get tickets, worry not: I’ve got you covered ⏤ well, for the most part. So, let’s get started.

Where to buy ATEEZ tickets?

[📷] ATEEZ 2024 WORLD TOUR [TOWARDS THE LIGHT : WILL TO POWER] ⠀ 🏴‍☠ COMING SOON ⠀ #TowardsTheLight #Will_To_Power #ATEEZ #에이티즈 pic.twitter.com/za9wazc5Fo — ATEEZ(에이티즈) (@ATEEZofficial) December 7, 2023

As always, you can purchase ATEEZ tickets on Ticketmaster. Unfortunately, since the announcement just came in December, the website has not yet made the tickets available for sale. Consequently, we do not know the cost of the tickets at this time. All we know so far is that the tour will be titled “Towards the Light: Will to Power” and is scheduled to take place in 2024.

Which countries are ATEEZ going to in the world tour?

the members of ATEEZ doing the promotional period for their latest album.

Unfortunately, KQ Entertainment is taking its time in announcing the tour dates and countries, so as of now, that information remains unknown. Ticketmaster has the webpage for the tour up, and the upcoming world tour is 100 percent confirmed. However, every other detail has yet to be released to the public. If you’re mad about this, take it up with them, not me ⏤ I am merely an informant.

Nevertheless, ATEEZ is no stranger to world tours , so speculation about the upcoming countries ⏤ or at least continents ⏤ can certainly be a topic for discussion. Just in September, they completed their fourth tour, “The Fellowship: Break the Wall,” where they performed in Asia, North and South America, and Europe. In total, they visited 27 countries worldwide.

While we can’t predict the future, the boys are more excited than ever to prove their worth , and a world tour is undoubtedly the way to achieve that, even if we just got off of one. We can hopefully expect them to visit the same number of cities globally and perhaps even add more names to the roster.

So there you have it, ATINY. May the odds be ever in our favor, and here’s to us lighting a candle for all the good vibes to come.

Miles russell, 15, set for pga tour debut at rocket mortgage classic.

Thanks for contacting us. We've received your submission.

DETROIT — Miles Russell, the 15-year-old from Florida who became the youngest player in Korn Ferry Tour history to make a cut, has accepted a sponsor exemption to make his PGA Tour debut at the Rocket Mortgage Classic.

“Ever since I first started playing golf, my dream has been to compete on the PGA Tour and test my game against the best players,” Russell said Monday. “I’m looking forward to making the most of the experience later this month.”

Rickie Fowler will try to defend his Rocket Mortgage Classic title at the Detroit Golf Club starting June 27.

Russell shot a 5-under 66 in April at the Lecom Suncoast Classic in Longwood, Florida, to make the cut on the PGA Tour’s developmental circuit. The high school freshman from Jacksonville Beach has been taking online classes since the eighth grade.

He was the American Junior Golf Association player of the year in 2023, which included his seven-shot win in the Junior PGA Championship and becoming the youngest winner of the Junior Players Championship.

Russell is expected to return to the Detroit area in July to compete at the U.S. Amateur at Oakland Hills Country Club.

“He has proved with his many accomplishments at such a young age that he belongs, and we are excited to see Miles compete alongside the world’s best golfers here at Detroit Golf Club,” Rocket Mortgage Classic Executive Director Jason Langwell said.

Earlier this year, the left-hander nearly qualified for a PGA Tour event before losing in a playoff in a Monday qualifier for the Puerto Rico Open.

Guan Tianlang of China is the youngest to make the cut in a PGA Tour-sanctioned event. He was 14 when he made the cut in the 2013 Masters, playing as the Asia-Pacific Amateur champion.
