Tour was good. Had various tour guides in different cities. Would have liked more free time though. Accommodation was good except Great Wall Bejing wasnt good. Broken toilet seat cuboards and v shabby. The air seats were not booked previously so had to sit apart. Yangtze river bit disappointing. Room v musty. Paid for upgrade. But overall we enjoyed the tour

The Three Gorges are famous not only for the stunning landscapes, but for the long history and splendid culture, with myriad of ancient temples, villages, and paths add to the splendor of the Three Gorges. Qutang Gorge starts at the White Emperor City in the west, Chongqing Fengjie County and ends at Daxi Stream in the east, Chongqing Wushan County. It is the shortest in the Three Gorges, with only 8 kilometers. Wu Gorge is 44 kilometer long, starting from the mouth of the Daning River in Wushan County of Chongqing in the west and ending in Guandukou of Badong County, Hubei Province in the east. Xiling Gorge is the longest of the Three Gorges, 66 kilometers long, starting from the Dadong County in the west and ending at the Nanjin Pass of Yichang in the east. It goes through the Hubei Province entirely from the west to east.

Don’t be fooled by the name. Located north of the Wu Gorge on the Daning River, a tributary of the Yangtze, the Lesser Three Gorges is a 60-kilometer-stretch of outstanding natural beauty. Before the Three Gorges Dam was built, the Gorges were fairly inaccessible, allowing animal and plant life to thrive. Now, cruise boats can explore this area and spot monkeys in the wild.

Fengdu Ghost City is a popular attraction amongst curious travelers. According to believers, Fengdu is the resting place for the dead. The spirits can worship in the afterlife at Fengdu’s 48 temples that represent Confucian, Taoist and Buddhist beliefs. Located 172 kilometers from Chongqing on the northern bank of the Yangtze River, Fengdu is usually the first stop on a downstream river cruise and the last stop on an upstream cruise.

2024 Possible Port Change for Special Events in Chongqing: Due to the rapidly decreasing water levels of the Yangtze River and its tributary of the Jialing River in Chongging Port areas, all cruises will not be able to dock in Chongqing for passenger embarkation for downstream cruises and disembarkation for upstream cruises from April 8th to April 14th, 2024. Instead, docking will be available at Fengdu Port . The cruise companies will be providing shuttle bus transfer services between Fengdu Port and Chongging passengers to reach the ship accordingly. (2.5-hour bus ride)

For upstream cruise with DISEMBARKING guests (Yichang to Chongqing) Passengers will disembark in Fengdu and then take a two-and-a-half-hour bus ride to the entrance of Chongqing Jiangbei Grand Theater (重庆江北大剧院公交车站).(Approx.10:00 am)

For downstream cruise with EMBARKING guests (Passengers will meet cruises' staff (check the poster stand with cruise company's LOGO) at the entrance area of Chongqing Longtousi Tourist Transportation Center (重庆龙头寺游客集中心). From there, a two-and-a-half-hour bus ride to Fengdu will be provided for cruise embarkation. ( Shuttle Bus:15:00-17:00 )

2023 Maintenance of Three Gorges Dam Ship Lift: The Three Gorges Dam Ship Lift will be stopped for using from 20:00 on August 25th to 20:00 on September 29th in 2023 due to its maintenance, therefore, it is unavailable to experience for people taking a Yangtze River cruise during that period. (Maintenance of the Ship Lift is usually arranged in around August and September each year, so please select your cruise date accordingly and feel free to contact us if you need any help!)

(a) Please call the ship one day ahead or at least in the morning on the boarding day to have clear idea about which pier you are going to use; (b) It is better to arrive in Chongqing before 16:30 on the embarkation day; (c) There are 14 sub-pier of Chongqing Chaotianmen Port. As the car/taxi driver can only stop the car at the entrances of the port, you need to walk to your exact pier. Usually, it needs about 180 meters (about 3 minutes) to the nearest No.9 Dock, about 180-680 meters (about 3-8 minutes) to No.7, No.5, No.3 and No.1 Docks. If your cruise stops at the even-number wharfs (Wharf No. 2, 4, 6, 8, 10), we suggest changing the drop-off point to Chongqing Port Tourist Terminal (重庆港旅游码头), then following the port signs, you can easily reach the even number wharfs; (d) The boarding time and departure piers may change based on the ship line, water level, season, weather and other factors. Please pay attention to the important info your travel consultants sent to you before your boarding.

(a) You can choose to sail through the world’s largest ship lift - Three Gorges Dam Ship Lift to very closely marvel at the huge dam which is a totally fresh and exciting experience for travelers. (b) No matter you take Ship Lift or not, you’ll do check out procedure in this early morning. (c) Only dam visiting: you’ll take bus from Maoping Port to Three Gorges Dam for sightseeing. You’ll arrive in the Visitor Center of Three Gorges Tourist Resort at downtown around 12:00. (d) Dam & Ship Lift Experience: travelers who are interested in Ship Lift will first switch to a sightseeing boat to sail through the Ship Lift and then visit Three Gorges Dam Site. You’ll arrive in Yichang downtown area around 13:30. (e) Luggage Consigning for Chongqing - Yichang Disembarkation: For the national policy about the security of the Three Gorges Dam Project, no large luggage (exceeding 20cm*40cm*50cm or 5kg) is allowed to be taken into Three Gorges Dam scenic area. You could consign your luggage to Yichang Three Gorges Center Cruise Terminal and get the luggage consigning document from the cruise staff on the 4th cruising day morning and gather it after you are in Yichang downtown by showing that document. The service is offered by the cruise company and some of them requires extra charge for each piece of luggage.

The ARRANGED shore excursions are included in your quotation, so you could visit the sites without extra charge. However, if you do not visit the sites, the fees of arranged shore excursion sites are not refunded. If you do not visit the shore excursions, you could stay on the ship to enjoy some leisure time. And for your safety, you are not allowed to leave your ship on your own.

The OPTIONAL shore excursion needs extra charge. The optional sites will be visited depending on the number of travelers who want to go. You can visit if there are 20~30 or more people interested (the number of visitors may be adjusted based on the real situation). You have the final decision where to go or not on your own. If yes, tell the reception desk who would register for you and receive your pay in site.

There are many stairs to climb up to Fengdu Ghost City and reach the top of Shibaozhai Pagoda / White Emperor City. Comfortable shoes are highly recommended to visit these sites.
