Wow, it’s hard to give advice for the entire USA. It’s so diverse. I would say wherever you go – think of it as having its own culture and be ready to dive in and experience it, like one of my favorite places, Hawaii!

Always bring extra memory cards and batteries for your camera. It’s been my experience that you can never take enough picture of places like the National Parks or the New York skyline.

With such a diverse climate from Alaska to Arizona and New York to San Francisco, there’s really never a bad time to travel through the U.S. You can always find something amazing.

The Memorial is located in the Black Hills of South Dakota . The name “Black Hills” comes from the Lakota words Paha Sapa, which mean “hills that are black”. Native Americans came to the Black Hills to seek visions and to purify themselves. Paha Sapa was considered a sanctuary and was a peaceful meeting ground for tribes at war. Exploration of the Black Hills by fur traders and trappers occurred in the 1840s. In 1874, General Custer led an Army exploration into the area and discovered gold. When word got out of the discovery of gold in the Black Hills, settlers soon followed.

When completed, the depiction of the great Lakota warrior will be 641 feet long and 563 feet high. The purpose of the project is to protect and preserve the culture and living heritage of all North American Indians.

Do I need a visa to travel to United States?

It depends on where you’re from. Many countries now operate under the United States Visa Waiver Program, meaning a visa isn’t required for stays of up to 90 days for travel purposes. There are 40 participating countries, including the United Kingdom , Australia , New Zealand, Germany and Spain.

If you're eligible for the Visa Waiver Program, you must obtain a letter of authorisation before you travel to the States. This can be obtained by submitting an application through the Electronic System for Travel Authorisation ( ESTA ).

If you’re a national from a non-participating country of the Visa Waiver Program, you must apply for a non-immigrant visa. Please see the Department of State website for more information.

If you have travelled to Iran, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Sudan, Somalia, Yemen or the Democratic People's Republic of Korea on or after 1 March 2011, you are ineligible and must apply for a non-immigrant visa instead.

People from a participating country who are also citizens of Cuba, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Iran, Iraq, Syria or Sudan must also apply for a non-immigrant visa.

We did not see route 1 and the city of Carmel as it was written in the itinarary. The guide did not give much information about the places we visited. But overall it was a good tour.

Yosemite tour was amazing. Choice of lodging needed to be different. Too far out of the way which caused a lot of extra driving. A hotel which was previously used would have been better. And virtually no response to questions thru the Tour Radar app. Had to take care of extra nights stays & transportation myself when the app stated that they would assist with it.

Natural Highlights of California National Geographic Journeys

Brochures/tour information should be updated. Covid-19 requirements for example. This did not have even a single mention at the welcome reception or at any time during the tour, despite the brochure, and could have saved some luggage. Sunset cruise at San Francisco is another example where the tour information mentioned included hor d'oeuvres and two drinks, but just one drink was the reality. Tour leader could provide clearer instructions/information by stating 'left' or 'right' rather than pointing saying 'here' or 'there' when she is doing this from the driver's seat and guests at the back of the van cannot see. She was informed of this and asked, but complied only that one time. Last minute guests (not me) who joined the sunset cruise at SFO were ripped off, having to pay USD68pp even if it included a transfer to the wharf whilst the direct operator price was USD36.

4 Day Death Valley Yosemite San Francisco from Las Vegas Lodging

The trip was made excellent because of our guide, Chelsea. She took us to unknown spots, was patient, flexible, and a pleasure to be around. The only thing I would take issue with is the lodging at Yellowstone. I understand we are in a dead zone, but the ridiculous amount they wanted to charge for the wi-fi blew us away! It was more than what cruise ships charge! Other than that, we having nothing but rave reviews for the tour and our guide!

Great guides, scenery, driver and comfort level. Just enough to whet our appetite for another Tour Radar tour in the future.

I love my tour guide Pasquale. He is the most sweetest, friendliest, kind, generous, and genuine tour guide I know. He really knows everything during my trip. He’s very easy going and I had the best experience ever in the 5 days I was traveling. Amazing experience and I would highly recommend Pasquale if you wanna travel with him and experience so much travelling for Wild West tour. Thank you so much an amazing and unforgettable experience.

the tour itself was amazing. The national parks do not disappoint. The travel accomodations were very cramped and uncomfortable. I am only 5 foot tall and I was cramped in this 14 passenger van. Food opportunities were limited.

Ryanair declares: we don’t do package holidays

“Pirate of the month”: that unusual award is handed out to the online travel agent (OTA) that Ryanair believes is the worst offender at overcharging passengers when selling the airline’s tickets.

You might imagine that any low-cost carrier would be delighted to have its seats retailed by another company. But Ryanair is campaigning against “scams, overcharges and invented charges” imposed by these agents. The carrier is appalled at the profiteering by OTAs that inflate charges for seat selection, baggage, etc.

Some of these agents create arbitrary email addresses for passengers as part of the booking process, which makes it much harder for Ryanair to provide the necessary options when things go wrong.

Book through a “pirate” online travel agent and you may face a series of hurdles known as Ryanair’s “customer verification process” before you are allowed to fly. This involves creating an online profile, photographing your passport and providing a facial biometric.

As recently as February, On the Beach, one of the UK’s leading OTAs, was selected as No 1 pirate by Ryanair.

Yet at the On the Beach headquarters in Manchester this week, it became clear that all is now sweetness and light between the two companies. They have agreed a deal by which the online travel agent will sell Ryanair flights – and pass on passengers’ contact details to the airline for use at check-in or when managing disruption.

“Having them as part of our proposition is brilliant for us,” says Shaun Morton, chief executive of On the Beach.

“I always welcome competition. The more players you have the better. And I think it’s great for the whole industry. It makes sure that the market is not dominated by a small number of tour operators.”

On the Beach’s boss may possibly be thinking of Tui, which is Europe’s biggest holiday company, as well as the two thriving package holiday operations set up by Jet2 and easyJet.

Since the collapse of Thomas Cook five years ago, Jet2 Holidays has grown to become the biggest tour operator in the UK. Arch-rival easyJet Holidays has now leapfrogged On The Beach in terms of the number of holidays covered by its Atol licence.

Why does Ryanair not simply follow easyJet and Jet2 in setting up its own holiday company? After all, Jet2 has thrived since it launched its holiday offering 17 summers ago. Ryanair flies far more people to the Mediterranean, but rarely extracts any value from their spending beyond the flight.

It is worth remembering that easyJet Holidays made good only at its third attempt. Likewise, Ryanair has tried to launch a Holidays brand a couple of times, but the projects fizzled out.

Now, airline supremo Eddie Wilson has confirmed it will leave the packaging to companies like On The Beach.

“We’re the airline business, not the package holiday business,” he says.

Mr Wilson has arguably the toughest role in aviation: chief executive of Ryanair DAC, the airline’s main operating business.

The generally well-oiled machine that is Europe’s biggest budget carrier is vulnerable to disruption from all angles: air-traffic control strikes in France , periodic thunderstorms in northern Italy and Belarus Air Force MiG fighters “helping” a Ryanair passenger to divert to Minsk .

When things go Tango Uniform, Mr Wilson has to sort out the passengers, planes and crews that are not where they expected to be and manage the operation back to full speed. That leaves little scope for negotiating the best rates with hoteliers, marketing packages in a ferociously competitive market and providing the intricate response to holiday problems that the Package Travel Regulations require.

“It’s not a business that we have any intention of being in,” he says.

Ryanair flies safely and often undercuts other airlines. The ready availability of its flights from approved OTAs is excellent news for travellers.

Buying a package provides gold-plated consumer protection; it is up to the online travel agents to show they are fully respecting the rules. I will be watching.

Meanwhile, beware of pirates.

Cricket in the US is a month away: 2024 T20 World Cup tickets, schedule, venues, where to watch

The countdown to the much-awaited 2024 T20 Cricket World Cup begins, with just a month left for the opening match of the tournament between first time participants Canada and U.S. in Dallas on June 1. The series will also mark U.S.'s debut as a co-host in an International Cricket Council tournament.

Preparations for the tournament are in full swing in the U.S., and the 34,000-seat modular stadium in Long Island, New York that will host some of the most anticipated matches is nearing completion. Ten pitches, prepared in Florida, arrived at the Nassau County Cricket Stadium this week, the ICC said Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the squads and players have also started gearing up for the tournament. Several countries including India , Australia, South Africa and defending champions England have announced their squads for the upcoming matches.

How to get ICC T20 World Cup match tickets

General tickets for the 2024 T20 World Cup are available to purchase on first-come-first-serve basis on the tournament website . While tickets for popular matches sold out almost immediately when the sales went live on Feb. 22, tickets for multiple matches in the U.S., such as United States vs. Ireland and Canada vs. Pakistan, are still available, as of April 30.

Tickets for some of the matches are also available for purchase on third-party websites such as Stubhub , Tickets Center and SeatGeek for varying prices.

Cricket enthusiasts who will be travelling to the venues from different countries also have the option to secure ticket-inclusive travel packages through ICC Travel & Tours and officially appointed travel agents listed on their website.

ICC said all stadiums in the event are "divided into different enclosures which have different views of the field of play and may have differing degrees of shade."

ICC Cricket World Cup 2024: How to watch matches in the US on TV, streaming

Fans and audiences will be able to watch the world cup matches exclusively on WillowTV , according to a spokesperson of the T20 World Cup.

What to know about the 2024 T20 World Cup

Fifty-five matches will be played across nine cities – three in the U.S. and six in the Caribbean, according to the ICC, with the opening match between Canada and the U.S. to be held on June 1 at Grand Prairie Stadium in the Dallas metro area, and the grand finale on June 29 in Barbados. The semi-finals will take place in Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana.

New York City will host the much-anticipated clash between Pakistan and India on June 9, according to the schedule released by the ICC.

England enters the year as defending champions, having beaten Pakistan in the 2022 T20 World Cup final in Melbourne. The series will mark U.S., Canada and Uganda's first appearances at a Men's T20 World Cup.

As anticipation for the tournament builds, the ICC announced eight-time Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt and India's legendary cricketer Yuvraj Singh as ambassadors for the T20 World Cup 2024.

Tournament director Fawwaz Baksh had told USA TODAY in February that he is confident that his team "will put up a very good show."

"A big part of this tournament is not only what's going to happen on the field with the players, but also everything outside of the stadium," Baksh had said. "We will make it a real carnival-like."
