Only half my order received

Only half my order received. Have been trying to contact the company all this week via online forms, email and phone. No response at all. VERY frustrating. However they have had the time to send me emails to review an item purchased, and with info regarding their Christmas countdown. Seriously?! Update: Finally got through to speak to someone today (Dec 4th) and issue was resolved quickly with a delivery due this week. Star rating amended to reflect service received.

Customer service

I purchased a laptop and after a few months it gave trouble,i emailed expert and get a reply within 30mins from Leah in customer service. She arranged for a courier to collect it and i got a replacement sent out quickly. I couldn't be happier with the service , which is rare these days.

Delivery too long

All fine but took 10 working days for delivery anfter two follow ups and small bit of damage to fridge on delivery . Didn’t bother reporting because needed fridge and did not want to be without fridge any longer

I ordered a watch from Expert. Price was good, and the ordering experience was simple, as you can imagine. What I didn't know was, it was not in stock, and it took more than a week to arrive after ordering. Anyway, it gave trouble while in warranty, and I contacted Expert for advice. While I did get some help, I was asked if I had contacted customer service. I replied that I wanted to contact them first, and got no answer, so was left to my own devices. It wasn't a terrible experience, but could have been handled better

Mixed experience, but swift resolution purchased an item and was…

I recently purchased an item and was initially disappointed when it didn't ship within the expected delivery time. When I followed up, I discovered my payment had been taken, but the order hadn't been processed. However, the customer service team was quick to resolve the issue, and once it shipped, it arrived the next day. While the initial hiccup was frustrating, their swift resolution and speedy delivery saved the experience. Hence, I rate it 3 stars.

I would give a 5 star. BUT, delivery was rescheduled 2 times, and instead of the 3 to 5 working days delivery. It was 7 working days. The mini fridge freezer I brought is brilliant. Just the delivery time irritated me.

I have done quite a bit of research and have received some great advice warning me against using third party sites for booking flights . However it seems this company is different - it is an Irish Travel agent that has been trading over 17 years. This holiday will be a huge investment for us - so I want to be sure everything is secure. Any advice would be much appreciated.

All I want is peace of mind. I dont want to fork out a lot of money - to spend the lead up and holiday worried in case something might go wrong. Its not like I am saving a huge amount of money - its several hundred - but at what cost???? Thank you bk_11

At best, you would have faced a long wait to get to talk to anyone and would have been charged an admin fee.

At worse, you would have been unable to get in touch with the company for days, and then would have been told that it's impossible to make changes, so you'll have to cancel them, book new ones at a higher fare, and be charged a three figure cancellation fee.

You so did the right thing to book direct!

e-Travel is the BIGGEST band of thieves and liars that ever existed!!!! MY HOLIDAYS ARE RUINED because of those donkeys!!! And they can't even offer me alternative without asking me for more money!!!! BAND OF ROBBERS

Have had more than £700 scammed from a credit card to e travel and the phone numbers on the website are incorrect or unobtainable ???????

I booked my flight tickets through this agent, which was one of the agents on skyscanner. I had to change my tickets and it was a nightmare for me.

Firstly, I had to pay 25 eur for the opportunity to contact them. There's an additional 5 eur if you wish to pay the 25 eur by a credit card. That's fine with me as I thought I was paying for customer service but apparently I was paying for frustration. I called them using overseas roaming charges to explain that I would like my ticket to be changed. The person said to send them an email and they will revert to me on whether my ticket can be changed as they are unable to tell them from the information they have. They needed to contact the airline to do so. If the airline says yes, then they would advise me of the prices of the dates I wanted. Furthermore, they said that they operate on a queue system. They can't look at my email request even if I was to send an email to them immediately after the call. They had to work on other "requests" that came in first. I was fuming as I had an emergency and needed to change my flights asap. I had dealt with other travel agents and airline companies before. They attend to you on the spot. So, I was very surprised that I had to send them an email. What if I didn't my computer or a smart phone with me or there was no internet connection??

I didn't hear back from them the next day and had to call them to say that it's 10+pm in Sydney Australia right now and can they let me know when they are reverting to me so that I can set an alarm to wake me up in the middle of the night to look at their email? (the next day is Saturday and I didn't know whether they are open on Saturdays).

Right, they reverted to me that a change is possible and it will cost me 315 eur. I had to ask for a breakdown before they tell me that there's 35 eur admin fee charged by them (with additional 6.35 eur as I'm paying by credit card) and the rest is by the airline , which works out to be 280 eur which I have to take it at face value that that's what BA charges. But it's an emergency, I couldn't afford to call them to "discuss" over roaming phone charges and risk the possibility that I couldn't be attended to immediately because of their "queue" system even though I have paid over 71 eur to them (25 + 5 eur to contact them, only to be told to send them an email, 35 + 6 eur to them to process the ticket change.

Thanks but no thanks.

Traveller Accommodation Expert Review - Programme Board Update

A Traveller accommodation Expert Group was established by the Department in 2018 to review the Traveller Accommodation Act 1998 and other legislation impacting on the provision and delivery of accommodation for Travellers. The Expert Group presented its report ‘Traveller Accommodation Expert Review’ in July 2019. The report sets out an integrated set of recommendations intended to improve the effectiveness of the arrangements for providing accommodation for members of the Traveller community.

A Programme Board was established to oversee implementation of recommendations from the report. The following is an update on the recommendations selected by the Programme Board in their current work programme.

Things to Look for in Ireland Travel Reviews

Most trip reviews tend to focus on some or all of these 5 key areas, not all of which may be relevant to you: the tour guide, travel company, service level, country or countries traveled in, and the trip itinerary. Remember, just because you see a 1 star review doesn’t necessarily mean that person disliked the country.

When reading Ireland tour reviews, it’s important to bear in mind that it’s very common for not all meals or activities to be included in the base price of the trip . This is beneficial for travelers who enjoy having some free time, and like having control over their spending. However it can be a bit affronting for travelers who would prefer to have all activities and meals included, which means a higher upfront cost.  

Negatively reviewed Ireland tours mostly lament that too much time was spent on the bus and not enough time at each destination. This is especially noticeable for tours that also visit Scotland, England, and Wales.

There is a lot to see and sometimes tour itineraries for the UK can feel stretched. Be sure to read the itinerary thoroughly to make sure the tour spends enough time in the places you’re most excited to see.

Favorable reviews for Ireland  often comment on the tour guides ability to bring history alive, and the chance to enjoy local Irish culture in an authentic way.

Trump was convicted on 34 counts of falsifying business records , a class E felony that is punishable by a fine, probation or up to four years in prison per count. During the trial, Judge Juan Merchan threatened to put Trump behind bars for violating his gag order, but it’s unclear whether the former president will face similar consequences now. It's expected that any sentence would be imposed concurrently, instead of consecutively.

Former federal prosecutor Chuck Rosenberg, an NBC News analyst, said it's unlikely that Merchan would sentence Trump, 77, to any jail time, given his age and his status as a first-time, nonviolent offender. "I’d be very surprised if there's any sentence of incarceration at all," Rosenberg said. “Of course, he did spend a good bit of time insulting the judge who has the authority to incarcerate him.”

The next step for Trump at this point is his sentencing, which is set for July 11. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg would not comment Thursday on what type of sentence he’d seek, saying his office would do its speaking in court papers in the weeks ahead.

Arthur Aidala, a former prosecutor in the Brooklyn district attorney's office who's now a defense lawyer, said the judge will most likely use some of the time before sentencing to research similar cases to determine what the median sentence is.

"He wants to know before he sentences someone what the typical sentence is," Aidala said, and would consider other factors, like Trump's age and lack of a criminal record, while also taking into account the lack of injury caused by the crime. Aidala said he believes whatever punishment Merchan comes up with would be "a non-jail disposition."

An analysis conducted by Norm Eisen, who worked for House Democrats during Trump’s first impeachment, found that roughly 1 in 10 people who have been convicted of falsifying business records are imprisoned and that those cases typically involved other crimes.

Ron Kuby, a veteran New York criminal defense lawyer, took a different view.

“Judge Merchan is known for being a harsh sentencer when it comes to white-collar crimes committed by people who have wealth and privilege and power,” he said.

Kuby added he believes "it is substantially likely Judge Merchan will sentence Trump to jail or prison time," despite the logistical and practical complications that locking up a person with Secret Service protection would entail.

Kuby said that's because the criminal scheme went on for over a year and included a number of bad acts on Trump's part.

“It’s an entire course of conduct he was involved with — not just one bad decision,” he said.

Trump, however, most likely doesn't have to worry about missing the Republican National Convention, where he's expected to accept the party's nomination, even though it's taking place just days after his sentencing. Kuby said he'd most likely be able to remain free while he appeals the conviction.

Trump's behavior during the trial, including his flouting Merchan's gag order by making comments about witnesses and the jury, isn't likely to be a factor in the sentencing decision, Kuby said. It's also highly unlikely that comments that appeared to be aimed at sidestepping the gag order by Republican officials who attended the trial as Trump's guests will figure into Merchan's reasoning, Kuby added.

"If the judge is smart, he'd stay away from that," Kuby said. "The best way for judges not to get reversed in a sentencing is to stick to the facts and circumstances of the crimes and conviction."

Rosenberg said that despite Trump’s frequent criticisms of Merchan, which he likened to “a batter who’s been yelling at the umpire from before the first pitch,” Merchan appeared to run “a clean and fair trial.”

Rosenberg and Kuby agreed that Trump would appeal the verdict. Kuby said that could delay Trump's serving whatever punishment Merchan doles out for years, even if the appeal is ultimately unsuccessful.

His first appeal will be to the state Appellate Division, a midlevel appeals court, and it will almost certainly not decide the appeal until after the November election, Kuby said. If he loses there, he could then appeal to the state's highest court, the Court of Appeals. A loss there would be followed by a request to the U.S. Supreme Court to hear the case.

If all that fails, Kuby said, he could then try turning to federal court in another attempt to eventually get the case before the Supreme Court.

The appeals process typically takes a long time — Kuby said he had one client who staved off prison time for six years — but there's another potential complicating factor in this case.

"If he becomes president of the United States, he cannot be incarcerated in a state prison" while he's in office, Kuby said, because it could prevent him from fulfilling his constitutional duties. If he lost his appeals, "by the time he leaves office — if he leaves office — he'd be ready to be incarcerated," he said.

Everything was really well organised…

Everything was really well organised from set down in the airport on arrival through to the tours until our return trip. The hotel was really lovely. Good sized rooms. Great food. Gorgeous swimming pool. Very nice, polite staff. My only complaint is that a tour of Botanic Gardens could not take place, as they were closed as work was being carried out. On another tour, we could not get into the castle as they close on Mondays!! I think the tour guide should have checked times etc beforehand

The Joy of Tuscany

What a wonderful experience. For a good holiday you need a good guide. Well Laura was outstanding. She was knowledgeable, caring and went out of her way to make sure everyone was having a great time. (Thank you Laura) All our group gelled and had great fun. The tours, Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Lucca,Pisa, vineyard visit and opera, how we fitted everything in baffles me, but we did with great verve! Tuscany is lush and green with rolling hills and beautiful scenery. This travel department tour should not be missed. It's great value and gives you everything. The hotel was lovely and the staff accommodating. I can't wait to choose my next tour. Please Travel Dept increase the luggage allowed from 10kg to 20kg, it would make all the difference.

Solo Holiday to South Africa

Memorable trip to South Africa on a Solo Holiday. Amazing country and lots of great experiences. We had a wonderful guide, Angie, for whom nothing was too much trouble. Her professionalism, friendliness and organisational skills left nothing to chance. We were a very small group (only 9) and had lots of fun. It is a very packed trip with early starts and fairly long journeys but worth it all! It's hard to pick out an outstanding day, there were so many, but our day on the Aquilla Private Game reserve was very special. Once again Travel Department excelled themselves and the hotels (4) were uniformly great. Thanks to Angie and our nice driver, Rodney.

Wonderful trip to Tuscany. The tour was amazing. Super tour guide Laura made the trip for us. She was knowledgeable and friendly throughout our stay in Tuscany. Hotel very central to everything in Montecatini. Food and weather were both truely wonderful.

Norway Holiday .

The Comfort Hotel Oslo was very poor.Small pokey room , not enough towels or pillows. Water leaked out under shower door all over bathroom floor which was dangerous There should have been more occasions for group to have dinner together. Hotels with no evening meals a big issue for solo travellers.

Had a wonderful holiday with Travel Deportment, an ideal way to see great towns.

Had a wonderful holiday with Travel Department and will definitely go on another holiday with them. Loved Italy and hope to return soon again. Being guided around takes all the hard work out of trying to find all the nice places to see. A great value holiday with a lovely guide. Got to see great towns and the lovely scenery in Tuscany. The hotel (Grand Hotel) they picked was excellent too in Montecatini.

Great experience

Trip to Montenegro - nice one

Our trip to Montenegro was well organised and our guide Dada was a very nice girl with lots of knowledge and good English. However the speed with which she spoke and in such detail made it difficult to concentrate and follow. The included tours were just long enough and the area around was lovely. The hotel is beautiful and the staff excellent. There is an infinity pool on the rooftop along with a spa area with a sauna steam room and a Turkish bath which was great when we had the one bad day weather-wise. Food is delivered buffet style and there is something for everyone. If your room is facing the sea you will hear considerable noise from 4 lanes of traffic directly outside the hotel. The beaches are stoney so good idea to buy a pair of overshoes. Overall a very nice holiday.

Beautiful country

Hotel excellent and staff most friendly. Day trips very enjoyable although they all startd very early and returned to hotel very early in afternoon. Why not start an hour or so later? Your guide only appeared on the trip days, no sign of her at other times and she left us no phone number to contact her in the event of emergencies. Was unable to supply us with a map of area, suggested we ask reception. Again did not know location of nearest chemist, again suggested asking reception. Surely its the job of your rep to be available to us and to answer these basic questions.

Most memorable holiday…

Everything was planned to perfection and we had a wonderful holiday with a great group of people. Our guide in Vietnam, Chung, was excellent and very knowledgeable along with having a good sense of humour. Our guide in Cambodia was also excellent and really made our 3 days in Siem Reap so worthwhile. Hotels were superb throughout our stay in both countries. The holiday covered a huge amount with scenery and history of both countries but one of the most memorable holidays we've been on.

The choice of hotel, the 4* Monte Sarago was comfortable, close to town, good facilities, good food and above all the most wonderful staff. Our Guide, Angelo Consoli was the perfect host, informative, empathetic with his clients, and ensured everyone was on time and fully briefed about transport plans and sightseeing opportunities. This was our third trip with Travel Department and possibly the most enjoyable. As the only English couple we were made very welcome by our Irish colleagues and made many friends during the week.

Tour of Vancouver and the Rockies

Convenient and no worries!

It was really nice to pick somewhere and pay for it and someone else plans most of the trip( free days excluded). The hotels were clean, comfortable and central. Two out of our 3 hotels had a restaurant which was convenient. Breakfasts were good but quite a few in our group would have liked more variety. Our guide for the week met us at the airport and was very helpful , patient, friendly and informative. We also had local guides who were informative and interesting and the days with excursions were busy. Very happy with the service and holiday and would book again!

A wonderful experience

A wonderful experience. Boat was great and staff excellent. Just 2 observations. The tours were not what was advertised in some cases. The travel dept representative was at best very unhelpful. But this didn’t spoil a wonderful trip and will certainly go on another river cruise.
