By the middle of 2024 SCOOTER can already look back on the sold-out THIRTY, ROUGH AND DIRTY ! Arena Tour 2024 and the chart entry #2 of their 21st studio album OPEN YOUR MIND AND YOUR TROUSERS .

The album adds to their already impressive collection of chart successes! Over the course of their illustrious history, SCOOTER have spent more than 500 weeks in the singles charts and 300 weeks in the albums charts and have sold over 30 million units. In addition, they have more than 130 gold and platinum records from all over the world.

No other German band has as many top ten hits as the most successful artists of all time, such as Madonna, Michael Jackson, Rihanna or Depeche Mode!

The impressive SCOOTER documentary FCK2020 – once again underlines the band’s success and can be seen on Netflix.

Biografie - Scooter

Neben prägnanten Songtiteln wie „Hyper Hyper“ oder „How Much Is The Fish?“ ist die norddeutsche Electro-Band Scooter seit fast 30 Jahren bekannt für ihren charismatischen Sound und den Schreigesang von Frontmann H. P. Baxxter. Mit 23 Top-Ten-Hits und über 30 Millionen verkauften Tonträgern in 50 Ländern ist Scooter die erfolgreichste Techno-Band Deutschlands.

Aus der Remix-Band The Loop, die unter anderem für Marky Mark Remixe veröffentlicht, entsteht 1994 die Band Scooter. Neben Frontmann Hans Peter Geerdes alias H. P. Baxxter gehören auch Hendrik Stedler und Sören Bühler, besser bekannt unter ihren Künstlernamen Rick J. Jordan und Ferris Bueller, zu den Gründungsmitgliedern.

Fortan produzieren Scooter elektronische Musik, die den Stilrichtungen Techno, Happy Hardcore, EDM, Hardstyle, Eurodance und Jumpstyle zugeordnet wird – und das wie am Fließband.

Erste Erfolge: Der Scooter-Sound schlägt ein

Bereits die erste Single „Vallée De Larmes“ schafft es 1994 bis auf Platz 8 der deutschen Dance-Charts. Die zweite Single „Hyper Hyper“ schlägt ein wie eine Bombe: Sie erreicht europaweit die Top 5. Noch heute zählt „Hyper Hyper“ zu den bekanntesten Tracks der Band.

Es folgen weitere Top-5-Singles, darunter „Back In The UK“, das erstmals auch in die britischen Charts schießt. Scooters erste vier Studioalben landen in den Top 25 der deutschen Albumcharts und sind auch in der Schweiz, in Österreich und in England erfolgreich.

An das Album „Age Of Love“ von 1997 schließt sich die gleichnamige erste Hallen-Tour Scooters an. Die Shows von Scooter sind legendär: Wenn Baxxter „Hyper Hyper“ ins Mikro ruft, gibt es für die Fans kein Halten mehr. Der schweißtreibende Sound mit mal harten, mal groovy Elektrobeats und die einfachen Texte laden zum Tanzen und Mitgrölen ein – kein Wunder, dass Scooter-Tickets nach wie vor sehr begehrt sind.

Scooter schreiben unermüdlich an ihrer Erfolgsgeschichte

Bis auf den gebürtigen Ostfriesen H. P. Baxxter wechselt mit der Zeit die gesamte Besetzung von Scooter. Bis 2017 produziert die Band alle ein bis zwei Jahre ein neues Album – seit der Gründung insgesamt 19 Studioalben. Das Album „Jumping All Over The World“ erreicht Platz 1 in den englischen Albumcharts. Für 300.000 verkaufte Alben in England gibt es eine Platinauszeichnung.

Mit dem zwanzigsten Album lassen sich Scooter mehr Zeit: Auch durch die Corona-Pandemie bedingt dauert es vier Jahre, bis 2021 „God Save The Rave“ erscheint. Die Platte erreicht Platz 4 in Deutschland. Insgesamt zehn Scooter-Alben schaffen es in die Top 10 der deutschen Albumcharts:

Baxxter gegrölte Disco-Parolen, ein Hitfeuerwerk gepaart mit einer Wahnsinns-Partystimmung: Bei Scooter-Shows feiert die Menge, was das Zeug hält.

H. P. Baxxter zufolge besteht das Erfolgsrezept der Band in der Kontinuität. Die „Rolling Stones des Techno“ halten dem Stampf-Techno mit Ohrwurm-Garantie und viel lautem Shouting eisern die Treue. Techno Legends Scooter Announce 30th Anniversary Tour

Arguably one of Europe’s most successful techno acts, Scooter, announced today that they will be returning to the UK and Ireland later this year as part of their 30th-anniversary tour – the ‘Thirty, Rough and Dirty’ tour. Kicking off their tour at Aberdeen’s P&J Live on Wednesday 30th October 2024, the trio around frontman H.P. Baxxter is set to give fans an unforgettable party and celebration of Scooter hits – old and new!

Tickets for Scooter’s tour go on pre-sale from Wednesday 10th April at 10am local time – including artist and three presale – with general on-sale following on Friday 12th April at 10am local time via LiveNation.co.uk . VIP packages are also available via VIPNation.eu/Scooter .

The anniversary tour news follows from the band’s latest milestone which is the release of their 21st studio album – ‘Open Your Mind and Your Trousers’. Boasting over 30 million albums sold globally and more than 100 gold and platinum awards, Scooter’s latest offering is a testament to their enduring musical prowess. The album, featuring 15 tracks in their signature style, includes previously released singles such as ‘Techno is Back’, ‘Rave & Shout’, ‘Waste Your Youth’, ‘For Those About To Rave’.

The ‘Thirty, Rough and Dirty’ tour kicked off last month in Stuttgart, Germany, and will now continue throughout Europe this spring before coming to the UK and Ireland in October and November.

APCOA Connect App : Up to 24 hour after you have left the venue, you can pay for your parking on the APCOA Connect App. Once you have downloaded the app, use location code 6680 for the Sub-T Car Park (underground) and location code 2356 for the Surface Car Park.

You can also pay for parking via the APCOA website here , click which car park you parked in and then you will be able to pay for parking.

At P&J Live it is our aim to be completely cashless, all of our bars, kiosks and restaurants accept card and contactless payments. This is more efficient, safe and ensures a speedy transaction.

There are no cash machines on the TECA sites.

Regular buses will be coming in and out of the complex daily for public use. Details on bus routes and operators are still in discussion and any updates will be posted on the getting here page of the website.

Currently, the Stagecoach Bluebird Jet Service 727 runs regularly from Aberdeen City Centre to Aberdeen Airport, stopping in the TECA site.

Representatives for Live Nation , which was promoting the “This Is Me… Live” tour, said, “Jennifer is taking time off to be with her children, family, and close friends.”

Lopez had quietly canceled seven dates in March for the struggling tour, her first in five years, which has been plagued by low ticket sales. In April, it was announced that the tour had been rebranded from the “This Is Me…Now” tour to  “This Is Me…Live/The Greatest Hits,” which the hope that familiar material would goose ticket sales.

It has been 10 years since Lopez’s most recent studio LP, 2014’s  A.K.A. , and 22 years since 2002’s  This Is Me … Then  gave her two of her biggest hit singles in “Jenny from the Block” and the chart-topper “All I Have.” Before that, she hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with “If You Had MY Love,” “I’m Real” and “Ain’t It Funny.”

The Black Keys also canceled the upcoming North American leg of their “International Players Tour” this week. Concert dates suddenly were deleted from the band’s social media pages and official website without explanation, but fans had complained on social media of high ticket prices, which ranged from $100-$300.

Ellen DeGeneres announces farewell tour dates, including 'special taping'

Ellen DeGeneres is making the rounds for what is expected to be her farewell comedy tour.

On Wednesday, the 66-year-old comedian announced a total of 27 dates for Ellen's Last Stand…Up Tour , beginning on June 19 until Aug. 17. She is including stops in San Diego, Boston, Philadelphia, New York, Chicago and Nashville, Tennessee.

The final two shows, occurring in Minneapolis, will be a part of a "special taping."

"This will be the last opportunity for fans to witness a comedy legend in her final curtain call," according to tour producer Live Nation.

Ellen DeGeneres reportedly discussed show ending during earlier standup show

DeGeneres officially made her return to the stage for her farewell tour in April at Los Angeles' Largo, breaking her silence two years after her  long-running talk show ended  in the wake of  allegations of a toxic workplace .

According to  Rolling Stone  and  People , DeGeneres took the opportunity to address the elephant in the room: her absence from the limelight in recent years.

"We were both just laying low for a while," she said of herself and her wife of 15 years,  Portia de Rossi , per the outlets.

Reflecting on the backlash she experienced after a  Buzzfeed News  published a report in July 2020 detailing current and former employees' claims that they faced racism, fear and intimidation while working on the show, DeGeneres summarized: "The 'be kind' girl wasn't kind. I became this one-dimensional character who gave stuff away and danced up steps."

When asked by an audience member whether she was able to dance through tough times, DeGeneres replied, "No, it's hard to dance when you're crying. But I am dancing now."

The comedian took a moment to be vulnerable with fans on the first show of her tour.

"I'm making jokes about what happened to me but it was devastating, really," she said. "I just hated the way the show ended. I love that show so much and I just hated that the last time people would see me is that way."

In a monologue commemorating her  final episode  after 19 years on air, DeGeneres said, "I walked out here 19 years ago, and I said that this is the start of a relationship. And today is not the end of a relationship. It's more of a little break. It’s a, 'You can see other talk shows now. And I may see another audience once in a while.'"

DeGeneres' contract expired in May 2022, when the show aired its final episode, and before this, she spoke publicly about potentially ending the show.

Jennifer Lopez has canceled her entire summer tour , which was supposed to have played Footprint Center in Phoenix on Tuesday, July 9, 2024.

Live Nation announced that the This Is Me…Now The Tour has been canceled because J.Lo is "taking time off to be with her children, family and close friends."

Lopez broke the news to fans at OntheJLo.com .

"I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down,” she wrote.

“Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary. I promise I will make it up to you and we will all be together again. I love you all so much. Until next time…"

How to get a Jennifer Lopez ticket refund

The Live Nation announcement included refund information.

“For those who purchased through Ticketmaster, tickets will automatically be refunded – there is nothing further fans need to do,” it read.

"This Is Me...Now" is Lopez's first studio album in nearly a decade. It’s her story in her words, blending elements of pop, R&B and hip hop. Her lyrics delve into the highs and lows of life, love and relationships as she unveils a story of growth, resilience, hard work and the transformative power of self love.

Writing and recording at her Los Angeles home in 2022 and 2023, Lopez collaborated with Rogét Chahayed, Angel Lopez and Jeff "Gitty" Gitelman. Additional songwriter-producers were HitBoy, Tay Keith, Yeti Beats, Carter Lang, Kim "Kaydence" Krysiuk, Jason Derulo and Brandon Riester.

The album was accompanied by an Amazon original documentary, “This Is Me...Now: A Love Story,”  which showcases her journey with fantastical costumes, breathtaking choreography and star-studded cameos.

Larry Bird Museum officially opens in Terre Haute

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) — By his own admission, Larry Bird has always been a shy introvert.

So he wondered why he has to keep talking on stage in front of thousands of people.

“It’s because of the love and respect I’ve had for my fans and the love and respect they’ve shown me back,” Bird said.

The Indiana State University and Boston Celtics great addressed a public ceremony Thursday for the official opening of the Larry Bird Museum inside the Terre Haute Convention Center. After the ceremony, Bird took questions from the media, which he jokingly said might be his last interview.

“I got a little street named after me, I got a statue out there and now a museum here,” Bird said of the city, the home of Indiana State. “Thank you, Terre Haute, but I think that’s enough for a while. You have no idea how much I respect the city and the people in it.”

Coincidentally, the ceremony took place a few days after the Celtics advanced to the NBA Finals by sweeping the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference finals. Bird, a former head coach and executive with Pacers, returned to his home-state team as a consultant in 2023.

“I remember at the All-Star Game, I told one of the Celtics owners that I thought they had the best team in the league,” said Bird, who won three NBA titles with the Celtics. “I’m very proud of the Indiana Pacers. I think they’ve got a very good opportunity to keep moving on and doing very well. (Tyrese) Haliburton and other guys play well together. When the ball’s moving, they win. If they guard a little bit, they win. Sometimes they don’t guard. They have a very good team and they’ll only grow together and get better.”

Bird, 67, is just as proud of the museum and all the work that went into it. The museum contains memorabilia from Bird’s high school, college and NBA career, interactive exhibits and interviews with coaches, teammates and rivals. Bird led Indiana State to the 1979 NCAA championship game before losing to Magic Johnson-led Michigan State.

“I think they got enough in there to keep everyone’s interest,” Bird said. “I think it’s going to be good for the city and a lot of people will come through it.”

Bird said there are so many items that bring back memories of his career.

Capital Improvement Board Museum Co-Chair Terri Conley said one thing Bird insisted on is the museum admission was free.

Bird described the museum opening reception as unbelievable.

“I think that’s what social media is all about, thank God they didn’t have that when I was playing,” he said. “There are so many young kids wearing my jersey. ... Terre Haute has followed my career. You don’t make these journeys alone. Terre Haute always had my back.”

Bird never envisioned having a museum named after him.

“All I tried to do was follow my brother’s footsteps and make the varsity team,” he said. “I made myself proud when I got to start as a junior. I kept playing and, obviously, I love the game. I loved other sports, too, but basketball clicked for me.”

Entering his sophomore year at Springs Valley High School, Bird was just 6-foot-1 before undergoing a huge growth spurt.

“Thank God, I grew or I’d still be working on that garbage truck,” said Bird, referring to the job he had in French Lick after leaving Indiana University before his freshman season started and before enrolling at ISU. “At 6-1, you don’t make it to the NBA unless you are special and very quick. I even grew up at Indiana State. I went from 6-7 1/2 to 6-9 and that really helped my game.”

Bird said there were some tough losses and great wins along what he called his amazing journey.

“It’s just unfortunate my career didn’t last longer because I could have played two more years but the injuries started mounting,” he said. “I felt we should have won at least one more championship with the team we had.”

Bird retired before the 1992-93 season with back problems. Bird helped the Celtics capture NBA titles in 1981, ’84 and ’86. As a head coach, Bird coached the Indiana Pacers to the NBA Finals in 2000 before losing to the Los Angeles Lakers.

U.S. Plans to Sue Ticketmaster Owner, Accusing It of Defending a Monopoly

Live Nation Entertainment, the concert giant that owns Ticketmaster, faces a fight that could reshape the multibillion-dollar live music industry.

The Justice Department and a group of states plan to sue Live Nation Entertainment, the concert giant that owns Ticketmaster, as soon as Thursday, accusing it of illegally maintaining a monopoly in the live entertainment industry, said three people familiar with the matter.

The government plans to argue in a lawsuit that Live Nation shored up its power through Ticketmaster’s exclusive ticketing contracts with concert venues, as well as the company’s dominance over concert tours and other businesses like venue management, said two of the people, who declined to be named because the lawsuit was still private. That helped the company maintain a monopoly, raising prices and fees for consumers, limiting innovation in the ticket industry and hurting competition, the people said.

The government will argue that tours promoted by the company were more likely to play venues where Ticketmaster was the exclusive ticket service, one of the people said, and that Live Nation’s artists played venues that it owns.

Live Nation is a colossus of the concert world and a force in the lives of musicians and fans alike. Its scale and reach far exceed those of any competitor, encompassing concert promotion, ticketing, artist management and the operation of hundreds of venues and festivals around the world.

The Ticketmaster division alone sells 600 million tickets a year to events around the world. According to some estimates, it handles ticketing for 70 percent to 80 percent of major concert venues in the United States.

Lawmakers, fans and competitors have accused the company of engaging in practices that harm rivals and drive up ticket prices and fees. At a congressional hearing early last year, prompted by a Taylor Swift tour presale on Ticketmaster that left millions of people unable to buy tickets, senators from both parties called Live Nation a monopoly .

The company has denied that it sets high prices and fees, saying artists and other parties like major venues are responsible.

A spokeswoman for the Justice Department and a spokeswoman for Live Nation declined to comment. Bloomberg News earlier reported that the lawsuit was imminent. The lawsuit is expected to be filed in the Southern District of New York, two of the people familiar with the matter said.

In recent years, American regulators have sued other major companies, testing century-old antitrust laws against new power wielded by major companies over consumers. The Justice Department sued Apple in March, arguing the company has made it difficult for customers to ditch its devices, and has already brought two cases arguing Google violated antitrust laws. The Federal Trade Commission last year filed an antitrust lawsuit against Amazon for harming sellers on its platform and is pursuing another against Meta , in part for its acquisitions of Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp.

The Justice Department allowed Live Nation, the world’s largest concert promoter, to buy Ticketmaster in 2010 under certain conditions laid out in a legal agreement. If venues did not use Ticketmaster, for example, Live Nation could not threaten to pull concert tours.

In 2019, however, the Justice Department found that Live Nation had violated those terms and modified and extended the agreement.

The Justice Department’s latest investigation of Live Nation began in 2022. Live Nation simultaneously ramped up its lobbying efforts, spending $2.4 million on federal lobbying in 2023, up from $1.1 million in 2022, according to filings available through the nonpartisan website OpenSecrets.

In April, the company co-hosted a lavish party in Washington ahead of the annual White House Correspondents’ Association dinner that featured a performance by the country singer Jelly Roll and cocktail napkins that displayed positive facts about Live Nation’s impact on the economy, like the billions it says it pays to artists.

Under pressure from the White House, Live Nation said in June that it would begin to show prices for shows at venues it owned that included all charges, including extra fees. The Federal Trade Commission has proposed a rule that would ban hidden fees.

A former chairman of the commission, Bill Kovacic, said Wednesday that a lawsuit against the company would be a rebuke of earlier antitrust officials who had allowed the company to grow to its current size.

“It’s another way of saying earlier policy failed and failed badly,” he said.
