In Love Trip: Paris,  four American girls, unlucky in love in their own country, move into a penthouse in the middle of Paris to find a floor of French suitors waiting to date them. Is this love trip to Paris their one-way ticket to romance, or are they headed for heartbreak in another language?

Caroline: A New York-based personal trainer who is over the U.S. dating scene and thinks there is a strong possibility that her woman could be in Paris.

Rose: A Boston-based real estate agent who has always said she was going to marry a Frenchman, someone who is passionate and romantic.

Lacy: A Nashville-based mental health podcaster who learned French for fun during the pandemic and feels her soul already lives in France. Lacy loves unique people and feels like labeling her sexuality limits her.

Josielyn: A model based in Los Angeles who feels she hasn’t met anyone yet because she was meant to fall in love in Paris.

It's a love connection with a French twist.

With the runaway success of Emily in Paris , it was only a matter of time before a reality competition placed Americans in the City of Love so that they can, well, fall in love. That's exactly what you get with Love Trip: Paris , a reality dating show coming to Freeform and Hulu. 

In a refreshing development to the reality dating show scene, some of the women heading to Paris to find love aren't just looking for French men. The LGBTQ+ friendly series is sure to delight fans of all orientations who want to cheer for people finding their people. 

Here's everything we know about Love Trip: Paris . 

Love Trip: Paris release date

Love Trip: Paris premieres on Valentine's Day, Tuesday, February 14, on Freeform and Hulu. The first two two episodes are being released on the premiere day, beginning at 9 pm ET/PT. 

After the premiere, episodes will air weekly on Freeform and Hulu on Tuesdays at 10 pm ET/PT.

The first episode is titled "New Country, Same Mistake." Here is the description: "Four American girls unlucky in love in the US move to Paris to find their soulmates. Afraid of repeating mistakes from back home, Lacy, Rose, Caroline and Josielyn are ready for a change of scenery… but old habits are tough to break!"

The second episode is titled "Love Blooms." Here's the description: "Two new suitors catch Josielyn's interest. Rose takes a shot with another man. Caroline turns up the heat. Lacy reveals a shocking secret from her past."

As of this writing there is no release date for UK audiences, but we will provide an update here as soon as updates are available.

Love Trip Paris Season 1: Where Are the Participants Now?

Freeform’s ‘Love Trip Paris’ is a dating reality TV show that follows four singles who are prepared to uproot their life and leave everything behind in search of true love beyond the borders but in the fashion capital. The individuals go on a journey to find love and participate in a daring social experiment for people who have failed to find love in the country.

Each of them takes an amazing trip to Paris, where they meet their perfect life partner and stay in a penthouse in the middle of Paris with French suitors waiting to date them. Season 1 introduced four free-spirited personalities who embarked on a journey to find “the one.” So it is natural for fans of the show to wonder what happened to the singles in the show.

Josielyn Aguilera is Thriving as an Artist Today

Josielyn Aguilera is a determined and aspirational young woman in ‘Love Trip: Paris’ who is searching for love but won’t accept anything less than perfection. She swiftly wins the group over with her charismatic demeanor and endearing smile. Josielyn made her acting debut in  2022 in the movie ‘Jacked’ as Amira. She has since made appearances on the TV shows ‘Quantum Leap’ and ‘Not so Straight in Silver Lake.’

The camera-friendly artist frequently posts sizzling, high-fashion photographs on Instagram, proving why she also chose to model as a career. The model is currently based in LA and has been associated with Slay Models. It doesn’t seem that Josielyn might have a partner at the moment, but the gorgeous Latino-American actress is slaying every day. A not-so-known fact about Josielyn is that she is a brilliant artist, and though making cute sketches is just a hobby, the actress is great at it.

Lacy Hartselle is Focusing on Her Podcast

Lacy Hartselle preaches the phrase, “Jack of all trades.” Lucy is a big personality and has made appearances in multiple productions. Lacy most recently starred in ‘All Those Small Things.’ She stars in ‘Ouija Craftm’ ‘Christmas in July,’ ‘Curse of the Nun,’ ‘American Hunt,’ ‘Death Cast,’ ‘Novitiate,’ and ‘The Gods of Summer.’ In television, Lacy most recently appears in ‘The Purge,’ ‘Nashville,’ and ‘#killerpost.’ Lacy may be seen in national advertisements alongside Dierks Bentley for Dodge, Walgreens, Geico, ESPN, Jolly Rancher, Chick-Fil-A, Papa John’s, Firestone, and 5 Hour Energy outside of television and movies.

Lacy also stars in the music videos for a number of country musicians, including Luke Bryan, Hunter Hayes, Easton Corbin, and Dan + Shay. Lacy is a multi-talented star since she can sing mezzo-soprano and dance with skill. She speaks basic French and is fluent in several dialects of the US, including Brooklyn/Jersey, Southern, Trans-Atlantic, and Standard American. ‘This Is Temporary,’ a podcast that de-stigmatizes mental health, was also founded and is hosted by Lacy. It’s a relatable, uncensored mental health podcast about finding meaning in suffering.

Caroline Renner is Thriving Today

Caroline Renner is a beautiful woman who is not shy to express herself with confidence. The reality Tv star has made another appearance onscreen in a short film called ‘Medium Rare.’ The talented star is a Fitness Trainer by profession and also a strength & nutrition coach who helps people holistically lose weight, get into shape, or simply lead a healthier lifestyle.

The fitness trainer identifies herself as she/they and is an active member of the LGBT community. Caroline appeared on the show to find love, and she indeed found a loving partner, Lisa Déborah, with whom the star is madly in love. We wish the happy couple good luck and hope they cherish each other forever and a day more.

Rose Zilla-Ba is Focusing on Her Career Today

Rose Zilla-Ba hasn’t had much experience on screen as she is currently pursuing her degree in Architecture from the Boston Architectural College. She is an extremely talented person whose singing notes are just perfect. You can check out her music and more on her YouTube channel and get to know Rose a little better. The 25-year-old reality Tv star is currently residing in Boston and is living her best life with her friends and family.

Which 'Love Trip: Paris' Couples Are Still Together?

Love Trip Paris , from Freeform, is a show about four American women who go to Paris to find love. Lacy Hartselle, Caroline Renner, Josielyn Aguilera, and Rose Zilla-Ba - and their suitors -all live in the same ritzy apartment building, Le Tronchet. They use an app called Trip Key to message their suitors, as well as plan and accept dates.

Throughout the show there is drama with daters not being there for the right reasons - Mirko, Simon - or dealing with extreme jealousy in this unique dating situation. There is a lot of debate about the seriousness of a kiss, which causes quite the culture clash. In the end, all four women have a decision to make, about whether they want to continue with their current suitor, and if they want to move to Paris, or go back to the United States.

Lacy Hartselle

Suitors: Bastien, Valentin, Joséphine, Amaury

Who they chose: Bastien

Lacy was drawn to Bastien from the very first episode. By the last episode, she was torn between her quickly-developing feelings for Amaury, and the deep connection she felt for Bastien. After romantic dates with both of them, Lacy decided she had a deeper soul connection with Bastien.

Where are they now? Married! 

On June 2, 2023, Lacy and Bastien tied the knot. They both shared photos to Instagram, with Lacy gushing, “From the Eiffel Tower on my childhood bedroom wall to being the real deal backdrop for my wedding to the best human in the world. June 2nd was the best day of my life - the loving, joyful vibrations were the highest I’ve ever experienced, definitely sensing all of the beautiful souls present, those with us from afar and in spirit. Soaring in gratitude right now. We are so appreciative of our friends and family who shower us in love and positivity - you all are the greatest gift! Thank you for all the love and support for our partnership. This one transcends all limits and I believe anything is possible with my *husband* @bastienbuffattiger - the purest soul - by my side.”

According to Instagram, it seems she has relocated to Paris - with her dog Chicken - to live with her new hubby, Bastien.

Caroline Renner

Suitors: Gessica, Lisa, Romane, Margot, Camille, 

Who they chose: Lisa

Where are they now? Dating, broken up, dating?

Though Caroline and Lisa's relationship seemed quite intense and tumultuous, the show ended with both of them making grand gestures. First, Lisa accompanied Caroline to a tattoo parlor, where she showed how serious she was by getting her beloved's name tattooed on her knuckles. It seemed the gesture had freaked Lisa out. However, when the pair met in the final episode, she presented Caroline with a ring, and asked her to be her girlfriend. 

On April 24, 2022, Lisa shared a post to Instagram that seemed to be introducing a new girlfriend (though could be just a close friend). The pair looked cozy, and the caption read, “My only one. Thank you life for giving me this soul as my best friend.”

As of March 2023, the pair were together, though they had reportedly broken up for six months. On March 7, Caroline shared a loved-up series of photos to Instagram with the caption, “loving you is a privilege given to me by the universe. je t’aime à la folie. @lisaaboulker — la mienne. lol âme sœur toujours (“I love you madly. @lisaaboulker - mine. soul mate always .”).”

By May 7 of the same year, though she hadn’t publicly addressed any split, Caroline shared a cryptic post, with the caption, “the art of starting over . - Demi Lovato.” On June 2, she got vulnerable on Instagram , seemingly hinting at a breakup, writing, “Today’s one of those days that are really, really hard. Heart ache & pain, and a deep sense of feeling alone, baby. But I choose to keep going because I remind myself of baby Caro, and how she deserves so much better. She deserves it & so does big, ever evolving Caro.”

Josielyn Aguilera

Suitors: Gessica, Léo, Aickel, Patrick, Joséphine

Who they chose: Patrick, a late addition

Where are they now? Unclear

After the heartbreak from Mirko's poor treatment, and Joséphine leaving, Josielyn decided to take another chance on love with Patrick, who didn't enter the series until the penultimate episode. Though they hadn't known each other long, it was obvious the pair had such strong chemistry right off the bat.

It is unclear whether they are still together, or talking, but it looks like Josielyn returned to Los Angeles for work. She appeared in a February 2023 episode of Quantum Leap , as Gia Mendéz. She has also been acting on the show, Not So Straight in Silver Lake .

When asked on Instagram who was the “best kisser,” Josielyn chose Joséphine, and said she “will forever be the one who got away,” as reported by Autostraddle .

Rose Zilla-Ba

Suitors: Mirko, Séb, Valentin, Simon, Franck

Who they chose: Herself!

After dealing with a lot of toxic masculinity from Mirko and Séb, Rose set her sights on Simon, who entered the show in episode three. Things really seemed to be going well, aside from the fact that Simon kept talking about how much he loved America, until an anonymous text on Trip Key said that someone was only there for a green card. 

In the final episode, Rose brought out the engagement ring that she had hoped to give to the man she had found love with in Paris. However, she put it on herself, and acknowledged that she deserves more than someone who just wants a way into the U.S. “I do want to stay in Paris, but I think I want to do that alone,” she told him. 

Where are they now?

Rose keeps a pretty low profile on social media. Per The Cinemaholic , after Love Trip: Paris , she is pursuing her degree in architecture from the Boston Architectural College.

Queer-inclusive reality dating show 'Love Trip: Paris' breaks TV barriers on Freeform

"Love Trip: Paris" offers viewers a new take on reality TV.

Freeform's new "Love Trip: Paris" does what many other reality dating shows don't.

Reality TV has been criticized for its lack of diversity in race, gender expression, sexuality and body type. "Love Trip: Paris," by contrast, offers contestants a chance to find love in a structure that embraces the spectrum of gender and sexuality, featuring an inclusive cast of potential suitors, its showrunners and contestants say.

In this series, four American singles -- Josielyn Aguilera, Caroline Renner, Rose Zilla-Ba and Lacy Hartselle -- head to France to find the Parisian partner of their dreams.

The four contestants meet and date potential suitors of all genders and sexualities, choosing just a lucky few to take on dates.

"We're so used to seeing shows that are so whitewashed and heteronormative … but let's see the way the world has changed and has progressed," Hartselle, a pansexual woman -- which means she's open to being attracted to all gender identities -- told ABC News.

Each episode, there's an elimination, where some suitors may be sent packing and new suitors come in to make a connection with the show's stars.

Hartselle said she grew up in a traditional Christian household in the South and found it hard to embrace her truest self growing up as a queer woman and eventual divorcee.

Seeing queer representation and romance on television in an authentic way is something she said she wishes she could have seen on screen as a young woman.

"There was so much I did not know and so much ignorance -- and ignorance is what leads to division," she said. "I just am beaming at the thought of what we have done by just being ourselves, by bringing our very human fullness, our strengths, our weaknesses, everything to the screen. You see us all, in all of our beautiful vulnerable glory."

Aguilera, a transgender and bisexual Latina woman told ABC News she similarly grew up in a misogynistic culture. She said she hopes the stories on "Love Trip: Paris" can inspire the next generation of viewers looking for guidance on love, romance, and friendships.

"I hope that this really breaks that glass ceiling, of letting other shows like this exist," Aguilera said. "I hope this really breaks that and we get to start seeing more like LGBT people fall in love and more people of color fall in love -- more people in general just fall in love."

Renner, a nonbinary lesbian, told ABC News that showrunners reached out to her initially to explain the show's diversity goals, with which she was immediately on board. "I was like, 'Yes!' Like, I have been waiting for this moment to see something like this on television," she said.

Renner, who goes by she/they pronouns, continued, "It is so important to see every shape, size, color, sexuality, gender on television. Art reflects the world that we live in, and so, the world that we live in can't be reflected unless it shows every ounce of diversity possible and I am so proud of how diverse this show is."

Zilla-Ba, a straight woman who is Black, told ABC News that the inclusivity made her feel comfortable throughout her dating journey on the show. She said not having to worry about her safety allowed her to "let myself shine."

"As a woman of color, dating people off of apps, you don't really know if it is a safe experience for you, and as for the other girls, all being queer, it's really scary dating in the real world in that way," Zilla-Ba said.

Reality TV has also been critiqued for failing to create space for people of marginalized groups to thrive. "Love Trip: Paris" executive producer Susan House said that this was one of the showrunners' main priorities.

"We want to help these girls, we want them to find love," House said in an interview. "But we also want them to have the most true experience possible. We wanted to give them room to express themselves, talk about things in interviews, talk to each other, like we wanted to just give them a safe space to really live these journeys."

The cast members say they have already received praise about the show's diversity and its impact on viewers. They hope the world can learn that queer love is normal, and that "this is just who we are," Hartselle said.

Added Renner, "Love is love no matter what shape, size, color, gender, anything you are. We all have beating hearts. We all want to find love. Love is what makes the world go round. And we all deserve to find it."

Zilla-Ba agreed. "Not just that love is love," she said, "but you can have that fairytale type of love, no matter what kind of love it is."

Though the cast's final love matches have yet to be revealed, it's clear they were able to find loving friendships with each other.

"We really became a sisterhood and we really truly bonded so much, and it just means so much to have you girls in my life," Aguilera said, speaking to her castmates.
