Kid Cudi (born January 30th, 1984) is an indie singer, rapper and songwriter originally from Cleveland, Ohio whose music is a unique blend of laid-back hip-hop and rock.

Cudi is known for his autobiographical lyrics. His songs are often 3 his childhood hardships, depression, isolation, and struggles with substance abuse. The themes of spirituality, heartbreak, and celebration permeate his music. His live performances are widely recognized as being an incredibly energized take on a hip-hop and rock show combined with a positive outlook and party atmosphere.

Cudi has sold over 22 million records in the U.S. He has been nominated for five Grammy Awards and won. He has often been cited as an influence on a number of contemporary hip-hop and alternative acts. Cudi has collaborated with several prominent artists across many different genres, including Kendrick Lamar, Jay-Z, David Guetta, Shakira, MGMT, Mary J. Blige, Michael Bolton, and Steve Aoki.

Cudi has worked extensively with the Brooklyn-based record label, Fool’s Gold, responsible for the likes of A Track, Lil B, and Danny Brown. He also launched his own record label, Wicked Awesome Records, in 2011.

Born Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi, Kid Cudi grew up in Shaker Heights, Ohio, the youngest of four children. His father died when he was only 11 years old, and his passing profoundly impacted Cudi’s songwriting and musical style.

Kid Cudi adopted his stage name at the dawn of his career, which began after he moved to New York in 2005 with $500, a demo tape, and dreams of becoming a rapper. He released his first single, “Day ‘n’ Nite,” on his MySpace page in 2007. It gained traction across a number of music blogs and eventually got the attention of Cudi’s future mentor, Kanye West. With the support of West, Cudi released his first mixtape, A Kid Named Cudi, in July 2008.

Around the same time, the Italian electronic duo Crookers released a prominent remix of “Day ‘n’ Nite.” This created a huge amount of online buzz for Kid Cudi and provided a solid fan base from which to launch his debut conceptual album, “Man on the Moon: The End of Day” toward the end of 2009. Popular tracks from the album included “Make Her Say” and “Pursuit of Happiness,” the latter of which received an acclaimed cover by rocker Lissie.

A year after the release of his first album, Cudi released a sequel, Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager. Although this album did not reach the same success as his first, Cudi’s second work was still well-received. It was certified gold by the RIAA and reached number three on the Billboard charts.

In 2010 Kid Cudi joined forces with Dot da Genius and taught himself to play guitar to form the rock-rap band WZRD. The band released its music on Dot’s own label, Dream On Records. However, due to creative differences Dream On was dissolved and instead WZRD’s material was released on Cudi’s own label, Wicked Awesome, in 2012. Cudi followed up in 2013 with his third solo album, Indicud, which featured HAIM, A$AP Rocky, and Father John Misty, the former drummer from Fleet Foxes.

Cudi released his third solo album, Satellite Flight: The Journey to Mother Moon, in February 2014. Released with little promotion, it flew under the radar in comparison to Cudi’s earlier success.

In 2015, Cudi officially released the song “Love,” which samples “Sunblocks” by Ratatat. A new album release was announced later that year, and the lead song, “Confused!” was released soon after. Speedin’ Bullet 2 Heaven dropped in December 2015. Two additional songs were subsequently released from the album: “Judgemental Cunt” and “Wedding Tux.”

Cudi initially announced a new tour, dubbed the Especial Tour, but it was canceled later that year due to production problems and unspecified personal issues. As a consolation for his fans, Cudi released the title track from the album as another single.

In March 2016, Kid Cudi headlined the McDowell Mountain Music Festival in Phoenix, Arizona. Shortly after, he announced a new album would be coming soon. Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin’ was officially released that December. The album was a commercial success and featured guest vocals by Travis Scott, Pharrell Williams, and André 3000. Cudi performed his song “Kitchen” live with a string orchestra on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to promote the album’s release, and launched a U.S. concert tour promoting the album.

In 2018, Cudi and Kanye West partnered to create the group Kids See Ghosts. Together, they produced a self-titled album, released in June 2018.

In 2020, Cudi announced a single with Eminem titled “The Adventures of Moon Man & Slim Shady.” The song was highly successful, debuting in the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100. Cudi also released a teaser video of his forthcoming album, Man on the Moon III: The Chosen, the last installment in the Man on the Moon series.

Man on the Moon III: The Chosen received critical acclaim. Cudi’s songwriting skills, in particular, were highly praised. The album debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 chart.

On December 3, 2021, he collaborated with singer Ariana Grande on the song “Just Look Up” to promote the Netflix comedy Don’t Look Up. Cudi headlined the Rolling Loud Music Festival in the same year. During a performance, he revealed his intention to release two new albums in 2022.

The first of the two albums, The Boy Who Flew to the Moon, Vol. 1, was a compilation album which featured a re-release of “A Kid Named Cudi,” as well as the previously-unreleased “Love.”

Cudi’s second album of 2022 was the long-awaited Entergalactic, which appeared alongside an animated Netflix special of the same name. Entergalactic dropped on September 30, 2022, to much fan anticipation. The album was a commercial and critical success, debuting at number 13 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart.

Cudi is currently touring overseas. For those wishing to catch the next Kid Cudi tour, keep an eye on his official website for any new tour dates.

In addition to his musical career, Kid Cudi has dabbled in many other ventures. He has partnered with several clothing brands and designers, including BAPE, Surface to Air, Giuseppe Zanotti, A.P.C., Adidas, Virgil Abloh, Cactus Plant Flea Market, and Off-White. Through these collaborations, Cudi has had a hand in designing and creating tons of clothing, sneakers, and fashion accessories.

Live reviews

Coming from humble beginnings, Kid Cudi’s story is remarkable alone, without his track record epic live performances. After moving to New York with only a few hundred dollars and a demo tape, Kid Cudi’s signing with Kanye West began to catapult him to international stardom.

He very quickly acquired a cult-like following of high school and college students, selling out initially small venues, and eventually arena tours.

One of the most modest crowd pleasers in the music industry presently, Cudi poignantly demonstrated this at his gig back in 2011 in Las Vegas at the Hard Rock Hotel, giving an incredibly moving speech before his performance of both versions of ‘Pursuit of Happiness’.

His juxtaposition of this emotional moment with the epic strobe lighting of the venue succeeded in elevating the audience, carrying them with him through every moment of his performance. A real bonus of seeing Kid Cudi perform live is that he’s so invested in pleasing his fans, meaning that the audience are able to experience a real variation of old and newer tracks.

Overall, the production value of the event just completes the experience of seeing a fantastic artist, and Kid Cudi has the whole package.

A true underdog story, Kid Cudi did not have the easiest beginnings to his rap career yet after a lucrative signing to Kayne West's label, the young artist was soon catapulted into the limelight. Luckily Kid Cudi, otherwise known as Scott Mescudi has kept his integrity and remained grounded and this attitude is transferred to his live show.

There is no arrogant swagger or cocky persona, Cudi arrives onstage with a huge grin on his face as the audience cheers below. They rap along loudly to 'Satellite Flight' which causes Scott to smile further before thanking them for their continuous support and giving a little back story to some of his early work. He runs through a tight set of tracks taken from all four of his albums before building up to the finale with a back to back rendition of 'Memories', his David Guetta collaboration and 'Day N' Nite', his first breakout single.

The atmosphere turns into complete dance party as Cudi encourages the crowd to bounce along with these club anthems. The mood changes before the finale as Scott poignantly stands centre and delivers a short speech about his past and beginnings into the hip hop world before a suitably sincere rendition of 'Pursuit Of Happiness'.

Kid Cudi is undeniably cool on stage and his music is refreshingly fresh, fun and chilled. He blends R&B and hip hop with elements of rock in a uniquely laid back, chilled style. His music is perfect summer listening and watching Cudi perform at a festival was ideal: the festival atmosphere was perfect for Cudi’s style and the whole crowd was loving his performance. Hits such as ‘Pursuit of Happiness’ and unique electronic/hip hop creation ‘Day N Nite’ were the two biggest tracks of the night and had the audience going wild, dancing and singing along. Cudi owned the stage, appearing perfectly at ease and confident as he waltzed around, mic in hand and snapback firmly on place, with his infamous glasses perched on his face. Cudi’s ‘Man on the Moon’ also received an incredible reaction from the crowd, partly because of the lyrics which convey such meaning, something evident by the way that Cudi performed the song (with real emotion and feeling). The entire show was great and the crowd wildly applauded and cheered Cudi when he left the stage.

It was alright. He didn't schedule an opener so we had to wait 2 and a half hours for him to start playing.(doors open at 7 he came on at 930) I understand having issues with the stage because it's the first show of the tour and he hadn't toured in a minute. Anyway he came out and played a mini Rock show on electric guitar and then had a 10 minute intermission and then did all the Cudi classic tunes. He cut out some songs because of the stage delay and ended up only playing for like 45-50 minutes it seemed like and then he was done. Awesome set on stage but not as good as I thought. It will get better as he gets deeper into the tour though.

Scott is an amazing performer. His deliverance & energy is there, you can feel it. He's so passionate about his music & you can just see it when he performs. The only thing I can complain about is the fanbase. The crowd was tooo hectic, if everyone just vibed & enjoyed the music instead of fighting through bottles, crowd surfing, throwing punches, & shoving & pushing, it would've been overall perfect night. Love me some Kid Cudi! The set up was so dope too!

Overall, the concert was incredible. Kid Cudi has always kept his expanse open both artistically and figuratively and this concert made that more than apparent in his live performance. The venue was great and the energy that went along with it was also well-endowed. I had a great time and would recommend to anybody that if there is a special artist or musician or whatever in your life, go out and see them. You will not be let down.

It was everything that I expected and that Cudi made me escape reality and drift upon a land and vibe never experienced before and that the energy the people fed off gave Mr. KID his positive grooveness and finesse capabilities of maximum power and great service of energy that he basically unleashed the Spirit Bomb just like Goku son and this is a night I would never forget.

This is man seriously one of the greatest performers of all time! His stage presence is amazing and he's very personable with the crowd and you literally fall in love with him and have post-concert depression when it's over. He was dancing all over the place and signed autographs for everyone when it was over. I wouldn't hesitate to see him in concert again!

Great performer, great show, however the atmosphere was absolutely terrible. I've been a fan for years and was disappointed to have my experience ruined by so many wanna be fans and posers. Cudi himself was great but all the posers made this a less than mediocre experience

  • By Larisha Paul

Larisha Paul

Kid Cudi is heading to the moon on his upcoming tour, kind of. The rapper’s newly announced To the Moon world tour unfortunately shares a name with an idiotic and unrelated crypto-bro phrase, so let’s just imagine that he’s getting a moon landing of his own.

Scheduled for 27 cities across North America, Asia, and Europe, the tour will begin on Aug. 16 at Vancouver’s Rogers Arena. Cudi will travel through Portland, Oakland, Denver, Miami, Atlanta, Brooklyn, Toronto, Chicago, and more cities. Tickets for the To the Moon tour go on sale Friday, June 24 at 10 a.m. local time via the official Kid Cudi website . The tour will be supported by Don Toliver and Strick on all dates. Denzel Curry and 070 Shake will support select shows.

The North American leg of the tour wraps on Sept. 17 with his inaugural Moon Man’s Landing festival in his hometown of Cleveland. The festival will feature appearances by Playboi Carti, HAIM, Dominic Fike, Pusha T, Jaden, and more performers.

Cudi recently dropped “ Do What I Want ,” the lead single to his long-awaited studio album Entergalactic set for release later this year. The record will accompany his forthcoming animated music series of the same name arriving to Netflix on Sept. 30 with cast appearances from Timothée Chalamet, Vanessa Hudgens, Teyana Taylor, Macaulay Culkin, and others.

Kid Cudi will head to Europe for a slew of concerts in 2025 . He is scheduled to play in territories such as Norway, the Netherlands, France and the U.K.

The tour announcement comes after the January release of Cudi's ninth studio album "INSANO." The album peaked at No. 5 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop albums chart.

The upcoming tour also follows Cudi's scrapped Moon Man's Landing festival. The Cleveland-born rapper, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, had the festival's second edition scheduled to take place in his hometown last August, but the concert was ultimately canceled.

Cudi said on X that the city of Cleveland would not approve the outdoor festival aspect. He also promised to come back to Cleveland and "find a better place" to hold the festival.

The 2022 iteration of Moon Man's Landing included performances from Cudi as well as HAIM , Playboi Carti , 070 Shake , Pusha T, Jaden and fellow Cleveland natives Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and Chip Tha Ripper, among others.

Kid Cudi performs onstage.

Kid Cudi is on the pursuit of happiness…and a worldwide arena tour while he’s at it.

The 40-year-old Hip-Hop icon, actor, fashion designer and filmmaker just announced he’s embarking on his North American ‘Insano Tour’ from June through August this year with special guests Pusha T, EARTHGANG and Jaden Smith.

Along the way, the “Day ‘N Nite” rapper will drop into Newark’s Prudential Center on Wednesday, July 17 and New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Tuesday, July 23.

At all shows, fans can expect to hear cuts from Cudi’s recently released 21-track record that shares a name with the tour.

“I think this album is a triumph,” Cudi told Zach Lowe in an interview. “I’ve seen a lot of people saying you can feel the happiness in the music, you can feel the joy radiating.”

“Eleven albums and I was still able to do something new.”

And if you want to see him deliver the hits and the triumphant “Insano,” tickets can be picked up as soon as today.

Although inventory isn’t available on Ticketmaster until Friday, March 15, fans who want to ensure they have tickets ahead of time can purchase on sites like Vivid Seats before tickets are officially on sale.

Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

They have a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and will be delivered before the event.

Kid Cudi 2024 tour schedule

A complete calendar including all tour dates, venues, and links to buy tickets can be found below.

Kid Cudi set list

While it’s a given that Cudi will perform tracks from his new album on the road this summer, he’ll likely mix several classics in as well.

To give you an idea of what a Cudi show looks like, here’s what he played at the final concert of his 2022 ‘To The Moon Tour’ courtesy of Set List FM :

01.) “Down & Out” 02.) “Tequila Shots” 03.) “She Knows This” 04.) “Dive” 05.) “Just What I Am” 06.) “Hyyerr” 07.) “GHOST!” 08.) “Solo Dolo, Pt. III” 19.) “Sept. 16” 10.) “Man on the Moon (The Anthem)” 11.) “Mr. Rager” 12.) “Marijuana” 13.) “Memories” (David Guetta cover) 14.) “Pursuit of Happiness (Nightmare)”

15.) “The Prayer” 16.) “love.”

Kid Cudi new music

“Insano,” Cudi’s 11th studio album, dropped on Jan. 12, 2024.

The 21-track record takes Cudi down a more trap route than his previous output. However, his trademark laid back vocals keep the sound consistent with his earlier work.

After a few listens, we were most impressed with the soul-sample lead “OFTEN, I HAVE THESE DREAMZ,” the dreamy yet tropical “ELECTROWAVEBABY” and the nervy “GETCHA GONE.”

“FRESHIE” might be where Cudi shines most though; his chill delivery transforms into an urgent flow making for an exhilarating, head-spinning listen.

Don’t sleep on the bluesy “FUNKY WIZARD SMOKE” either. It bangs.

Want to check the album out for yourself?

You can listen to “Insano” in its entirety here .

Kid Cudi special guests

At all shows, Cudi will have a Hip-Hop icon or two kick off the festivities.

To make sure you’re familiar with their work, you can check out their most streamed songs on Spotify here:

Pusha T: “Don’t Like.1”

EARTHGANG: “Sacrifices”

Jaden: “RITMO (Bad Boys For Life)”

Hip-Hop stars on tour in 2024

Kid Cudi is just one of the many icons staging major tours this year.

Here are just five of our favorites you won’t want to miss live these next few months.

•  Drake with J. Cole, Lil Wayne and Lil Durk

•  Nicki Minaj

•  21 Savage

Kid Cudi Gives Hit-Boy His Flowers While Calling For More ‘Love & Support’ In Hip Hop

  • Kid Cudi Gives Hit-Boy His Flowers While Calling For More ‘Love & Support’ In Hip Hop

Kid Cudi believes there needs to be more “love and support” shown in Hip Hop — and he’s setting an example by heaping praise on one of the game’s top producers.

Cudder took to X (formerly known as Twitter) on Tuesday (June 11) to share his thoughts on the current state of rap, writing: “We need more love and support for one another in hip hop man. I gotta do better too.”

He continued: “I try to show homies work sometime but I gotta really celebrate what my homies do or even people I dont know I think are dope. To spread the world, get cool shit out there I think u need to.”

The Cleveland native then gave props to Hit-Boy , Young Thug signee Strick and Jaden Smith .

“On that note if yall sleepin and aint seein the awesome shit Hit Boy doin yall better get w it,” he added. “@Hit_Boy also see Strick got an album droppin soon I know that shit bout to be crazy, whoelse, Jaden im checkin for him hes cookin.”

Kid Cudi and Hit-Boy have collaborated in the past on songs such as “Red Eye” from Cudi’s 2013 album Indicud and “Old School Caddy” from Hit’s 2012 mixtape HITstory .

As for Strick, Mr. Rager teamed up with the YSL rapper on “Moon Man” from the label’s 2021 compilation Slime Language 2 .

Cudi and Jaden also have a strong relationship, with the pair working together on “On My Own” in 2019 from the latter’s ERYS album.

Jaden Smith was set to join Kid Cudi on his INSANO World Tour this year, but the Man on the Moon maestro was forced to cancel the trek after breaking his foot at Coachella .

The pair have even teased a full project together, with Cudi writing on X earlier this year: “Me and Jaden gonna make an album for all the trippy kids out there searchin beyond for something, searchin for that feelin. To be ALIVE.”

Kid Cudi and Kanye West have had a rocky relationship over the course of their careers. The frequent collaborators have at times been friends, performing and dining together, and other times dissing each other on social media.

Cudi was signed to West’s G.O.O.D. Music label in 2008 after  meeting West a few years earlier . West was then featured on  “Make Her Say (I Poke Her Face),”  Cudi’s single from his 2009 album  Man on the Moon: The End of Day  — the studio set that launched Cudi’s career under G.O.O.D.

Prior to his solo material, Cudi had also contributed to Jay-Z’s  The Blueprint 3  and West’s  808s & Heartbreak.  Other collabs between the two artists include “Erase Me” from 2010’s  Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager ; “Gorgeous” and “All of the Lights” from Ye’s 2010 album  My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy ; and more recently, “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1” from the 24-time Grammy winner’s 2016 release  The Life of Pablo .

But based on their more recent social media interactions, it’s probably safe to say that we won’t be seeing these two on stage anytime soon.

Below is a timeline of highlights and lowlights in Cudi and Kanye’s relationship.

April 2, 2013: Kid Cudi Leaves Kanye’s G.O.O.D. Music

On April 2, 2013, Cudi announced on Power 106 in Los Angeles that he was  no longer under the G.O.O.D. umbrella . “Man, everything is cool,”  Cudi said at the time . “Everything is peace with everybody on the label. There’s never been any issues, but I am announcing that I’m no longer on G.O.O.D. Music. And this is something that no one knows, really. I’m no longer on G.O.O.D. Music.”

Cudi went on to clarify that it was a tough decision because he viewed West as a “big brother.” Cudi said that as he broke the news that he wanted to go in his own direction (with Wicked Awesome Records) to West over the phone. Ye got it because he, too, wanted to head in his own direction.

Feb. 27, 2014: Cudi Says He’s Unhappy With Feature on Yeezus

After departing from G.O.O.D. Music, Cudi was surprised to hear his voice on “Guilt Trip,” on West’s 2013  Yeezus  album. In an  interview with  Complex ‘s Joe La Puma, Cudi was asked about his subtle “Guilt Trip” outro feature.

“The vocal that I did on that song was a couple years old. I forgot which session it was, but it was just a reference,” Cudi told the publication. “I discovered that I was on the song via Twitter. I saw kids hitting me up, like, ‘Are you on ‘Guilt Trip!?’’ or saying ‘Great job!’ and I’m like, ‘What the f–k is everyone talking about?’ So I go on Twitter and then I hear the song and I’m like, ‘OK. I know the beat. I know the song.’ Then I’m like, ‘Oh man, OK.’ Part of me was flattered, like, it’s kind of cool that he thought of me.

“Then I started thinking about it more. It was like, ‘Why not call me and have me come in there and give it? Why underuse me? Why put four bars of vocals to coax my fans into thinking this is a legitimate Kid Cudi feature on this song and it isn’t?’”

Sept. 14, 2016: Cudi Slams West, Ye Responds

In a Twitter barrage, Kid Cudi chose to hold nothing back. In a  string of messages , Cudi went off about discord in the hip-hop scene. Among those he name-dropped was West.

“I need y’all to know I got so many haters within the industry and these clowns know Im bout to crush their entire existence,” Cudi wrote. “Everyone thinks they’re soooo great. Talkin top 5 and be having 30 people write songs for them. Let me tell you something. The days of f–kery are over. The fake ones won’t be lasting too much longer.

“I’m the one they worry about cause they know I don’t give a f–k about the corny shit they do. All my youngins out here reppin, Asap Rocky and the whole ASAP family, Travis Scott, SuperDuper Kyle, Audio Push, Hit Boy, etc, I see y’all. And all u jealous chicken hearted s–ts I see you too. I am the culture.

“I kept silent because I don’t ever wanna come off like some angry hater, but today, not only do I feel fantastic, I’m feelin like taking over. I already have. My tweets apply to who they apply. Ye, Drake, whoever. These n––s don’t give a f–k about me. And they ain’t f–kin’ with me. N––s keep you close when they how powerful you are by yourself. When they see your greatness. Out of fear. I’ve been loyal to those who haven’t been to me and that ends now. Now I’m your threat. Anybody got a issue with my words I’m glad. If you feel me, don’t be scared to use your voice. I was for so long out of blind loyalty.”

While West was performing a show on his Saint Pablo Tour, the rapper addressed the tweets Cudi had let loose earlier that day.

“Do you know how many people wish they could be signed to G.O.O.D. Music?” West told the crowd,  according to  E!    “Get their life changed, have an opportunity? Never forget that! I am so hurt. I feel so disrespected. Kid Cudi, we are two Black men in a racist world. … Don’t ever mention my name in a bad manner, none of y’all.”

Sept. 20, 2016: West Publicly Forgives Cudi

Again while in concert, this time in Houston, West addressed Cudi’s tweets. This time, while on the suspended stage associated with his Saint Pablo Tour, West expressed forgiveness.

“The most important artist of the past 10 years, the most influential, and I hope he’s doing well,” West told the crowd between singing. “I just want to take this time out to say Kid Cudi is my brother … The most influential artist of the past 10 years?“

November 2016: Cudi Joins Kanye on Stage

A few weeks later, Cudi joined West in Sacramento, Calif., to perform “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1.” This came shortly after Cudi had gone to rehab for depression and suicidal urges, as he announced on Facebook on Oct. 4, 2016. Cudi’s  first performance  since leaving rehab came a couple weeks before he joined West at ComplexCon, on Nov. 6, 2016.

In Sacramento, on Nov. 20, “Father Stretch My Hands” was one of only three songs West played at the show before abruptly leaving. He then canceled the rest of his Saint Pablo Tour before  being hospitalized  for his own plights with mental health.

November 2017: Kanye Takes the Stage With Cudi in Chicago

A little over a year later, Ye performed for the first time since his show in Sacramento. Just as West gave Cudi a stage to return to after Cudi’s personal grief, Cudi helped Kanye reintroduce himself following a lengthy public absence. West joined Cudi in his native Chicago to again perform “Father Stretch My Hands,” only this time, as part of Cudi’s Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin’ tour.

April 18, 2018: West Announces Joint Album With Cudi

After  announcing the upcoming release  of his own seven-song album on Twitter, West sent the Twittersphere in a frenzy by also adding that  Kids See Ghost , the title of his group and joint effort with Kid Cudi, would be arriving June 8.

January 2019: Kanye and Cudi Dine Together

Kim Kardashian set the internet ablaze on Jan. 31, 2019, when she posted a photo of Kanye West, Kid Cudi, Pete Davidson and Timothée Chalamet  having dinner together  at Nobu Malibu for Cudi’s 35th birthday.

The photo quickly went viral, and Davidson, who is now dating the reality star, later revealed on  The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon  that he paid the bill for the expensive dinner.

February 2022: Ye Announces Kid Cudi Will Not Be on Donda 2

“Just so everyone knows Cudi will not be on Donda because he’s friends with you know who,” Ye wrote in a since-deleted note posted to Instagram in which he tagged both Cudi and ex-wife Kardashian, and alluding to Davidson, her new beau.

Cudi responded to Ye  by writing in the comments: “Too bad I dont wanna be on ur album u f—in dinosaur hahaha. everyone knows ive been the best thing about ur albums since i met u. Ima pray for you brother.”

“The Scotts” rapper then took to Twitter, writing: “We talked weeks ago about this. You’re whack for flipping the script and posting this lie just for a look on the internet. You ain’t no friend. BYE.” In another tweet, he added: “God opens the door so the wrong people can exit ur life.”

The exchange didn’t end there. The next day,  Ye took to Instagram again , expanding on his earlier statement. In the now-deleted post, he wrote, “THE REASON I ASKED CUDI TO AT THE LEAST SPEAK TO SKETE IS BECAUSE FOR YEARS CUDI ALWAYS MADE IT SEEM LIKE IT WAS ME AND HIM AGAINST EVERYONE NOW THAT IM FIGHTING FOR MY FAMILY HE NOT BY MY SIDE THIS IS BIGGER THAN MUSIC.”

The 44-year-old rapper was referencing Cudi’s friendship with his ex-wife’s boyfriend,  SNL  star Davidson. In a second post, he explained, “I WOULD HAVE NEVER ASKED FOR THE LOYALTY IF IT WAS NEVER OFFERED AND I FOUND A COOL PICTURE CAUSE I LOVE CUDI AND ALWAYS WILL BUT DONDA2 IS ABOUT RUNNING BACK IN THAT BURNING HOUSE I RESPECT NOT EVERYONE GONNA BE READY FOR THE SMOKE.”

April 19, 2022: Kid Cudi Insists Kanye Is ‘Not My Friend’

As news spread that Cudi would appear on Pusha T’s album  It’s Almost Dry , he tweeted about the track — “Rock N Roll” — he’s featured on with West to clear up the status of his relationship with the “Hurricane” rapper. “Hey! So I know some of you heard about the song I got w Pusha,” Cudi wrote. “I did this song a year ago when I was still cool w Kanye. I am not cool w that man. He’s not my friend and I only cleared the song for Pusha cuz thats my guy. This is the last song u will hear me on w Kanye.”

August 17, 2022: Kid Cudi Says Ye Friendship Is 'Not Good For Me'

In his  Esquire cover story, Cudi revealed that he has come to peace with cutting ties and moving on from what he describes as a toxic, mostly one-sided relationship. “I’ve been on every one of that man’s albums. He’s only been on two of mine. That should tell you something,” Cudi said of Ye. “And don’t think I didn’t ask.”

Cudi also discussed their online feud earlier in the year. “Do you know how it feels to wake up one day, look at your social media, and you’re trending because somebody’s talking some s–t about you?” he said. “And then you got this person’s trolls sending you messages on Instagram and Twitter? All in your comments? That s–t pissed me off. That he had the power to f–k with me that week. That he used his power to f–k with me. That  pissed  me off … You f—ing with my mental health now, bro.”

Cudi said he’s at a point in his life now where he has “zero tolerance for wrong energies,” noting that he’s watched “so many people” over the years who were close to Ye get burned by him doing some “f—ed up s–t… and then they turn around and forgive him. And there’s no repercussions. You’re back cool with this man. He does it over and over.”

The conversation then got personal, with Cudi directly addressing Ye and excoriating the MC who he said was launching attacks over something that had nothing to do with him. “I’m not one of your kids. I’m not Kim. It don’t matter if I’m friends with Pete or not friends with Pete,” Cudi told the magazine. “None of this s–t had anything to do with me. If you can’t be a grown man and deal with the fact that you lost your woman? That’s not my f–king problem. You need to own up to your s–t like every man in this life has. I’ve lost women, too. And I’ve had to own up to it. I don’t need that in my life. I don’t need it.”

However, it’s not a simple friends or not-friends situation, with Cudi adding that the “twisted thing” is that he still loves Ye. “But I love [him] so much that I can kick you the f–k out of my life and be done with your a–. ‘Cause you are not good for me … I didn’t love myself all them years you knew me. I love myself more now, bro. I love myself way more.”

Kid cudi reveals why he forgave kanye west after beefing, falling out, kid cudi on kanye west here's the reason we're cool again ... end of the day, my brother.

Kid Cudi is telling all on his mended friendship with Kanye West ... and explaining exactly why he ended up forgiving the guy after an ugly falling out.

The rapper hopped on Apple Music 's Zane Lowe podcast and got into the topic in depth -- explaining he and Ye are, in fact, cool now .... noting it's because Kanye sincerely apologized to him -- which is major, as he doesn't easily dish out mea culpas.

KC adds that working with someone shrouded in controversy is complicated ... but at the end of the day, he considers Kanye his brother -- and it's always siblings that hurt each other the most ... but he'll always have his family's back.

Plus, he says fans love the two of them working together ... and Cudi's well aware of that.

You'll recall ... Kanye and Cudi feuded through all of 2022 and most of 2023 -- Ye was fuming when Cudi remained pals with Pete Davidson as he dated his ex-wife Kim Kardashian .

In return, Cudi labeled him a dinosaur in the music industry and swore he'd never work with him again . At the time, it certainly felt like things were over between them ... for good.

But, through much reflection, Cudi tells Zane here that he wouldn't be where he is today if it weren't for Kanye ... cause he championed him in his early career ... doing him huge favors such as paying for his "Day 'n' Nite" music video when he had no record deal.

He's also adamant that there's a good man underneath Ye's shocking behavior and abhorrent rants ... admitting he might not be able to bounce back from some stuff he's said, but he's praying for him.

Unclear if everyone agrees with Cudi about Kanye's underlying character ... but as far as he's concerned, their problems are water under a bridge.

Go for the concert, stay for the dining and adventure: 3 Florida concerts worth traveling

Seeing your favorite performer live can be expensive, but worth every penny. Just ask millions of Taylor Swift ’s fans who turned her concerts into long-lasting memories. The trend these days is to restyle a concert excursion into a VIP event by renting a lovely hotel room, savoring a scrumptious meal and buying some new clothes for the occasion. Sound good?

We’re profiling three stellar acts who are bringing their superstar status and sold-out shows to Florida this summer.

Go ahead, splurge on a hotel and dinner. And make a weekend of it by adding one of the other attractions these cities have to offer. We’ve done the research. Just pick up your phone or log on.

Justin Timberlake’s 'Forget Tomorrow World Tour'

  • Saturday, June 15, Kaseya Center, 601 Biscayne Blvd, Miami. ticketmaster.com . Info: 786-777-1000 or kaseyacenter.com .

Justin Timberlake can’t add enough shows to satisfy fans.

Due to ongoing demand for the NSYNC alum, in May Timberlake announced nine new dates for the “Forget Tomorrow World Tour.” In March, Complex reported this is Timberlake's fastest-selling tour to date with more than 1 million tickets already sold.

Seattle Times music writer Michael Rietmulder called Timberlake "one of this century's most well-rounded entertainers." Variety music writer Steven J. Horowitz said, “At 43 years old, Timberlake is just as sharp and exact as he’s been throughout his decades-long career, hitting every cue and note with intent and purpose.”

Expect some heart-pounding excitement at this entirely new show. Timberlake and his band, the Tennessee Kids, perform about 30 songs, and the concert concludes with Timberlake performing "Mirrors" on top of a floating rotating stage. He’s held in place by wires attached to a harness and has his feet secured to the floor, but it’s a surreal experience to see the singer/songwriter flying above his fans. This is Timberlake’s seventh headlining concert and his first in five years. There’s no doubt: Fans want SexyBack.

Morgan Wallen’s 'One Night at a Time World Tour'

  • Thursday and Friday, July 11-12, Raymond James Stadium, 4201 N. Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa. ticketmaster.com . Info: 813-350-6502 or raymondjamesstadium.com .

Country music loves a bad boy, and Morgan Wallen is a natural.

The 31-year-old country artist is young by country music standards considering his garnered success and cross-over fan-worship. Wallen may not know how to make nice, but he sure knows how to make music.

The Tennessee-born singer/songwriter competed on the sixth season of "The Voice" but was eliminated in the playoffs. Regardless, it landed him a record deal with Panacea Records, and he released his debut EP, “Stand Alone,” in 2015.

But when Wallen got picked up by Big Loud, his debut album, “If I Know Me,” kicked out three hit singles: “Up Down” (with FGL), “Whiskey Glasses” and “Chasin' You.” The album hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart but that pales beside the far-reaching success of his second album, “Dangerous: The Double Album,” released in 2021. It became the only album in the 64-year history of the Billboard 200 to spend its first seven weeks at No. 1. It spent a total of 10 weeks at that spot, the first album to do that since Whitney Houston’s “Whitney” in 1987.

But Wallen naturally attracts controversy. He was widely criticized for using a racial slur in jest towards a friend after a night of drinking and worked hard to make amends both personally and financially. Then in April, Wallen was arrested for throwing a chair off the sixth-floor rooftop at Eric Church’s Nashville bar. It nearly hit several police officers.

If the singer can stay out of trouble on tour, he’s sure to pack them in at the show. But even if he can’t, it’s pretty clear his fans will still love his music.

Janet Jackson with Nelly 'The Together Again Tour'

  • Tuesday, July 16, MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre, 4802 U.S. 301, Tampa. midflorida.com
  • Saturday, July 20, Kia Center, formerly Amway Center, 400 W. Church St., Orlando. ticketmaster.com . Info: 407-440-7900 or kiacenter.com .

Janet Jackson has been busy — for the last half-century. Jackson continues to pack the seats at her concerts performing 36 sold-out shows on the first leg of her “Together Again” tour, making it the most lucrative tour of her career. She kicked off a new leg of the tour in June in California and she upgraded the act by adding Nelly as special guest.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer’s ninth concert tour is in celebration of Jackson’s 50 years in the entertainment industry and three other personal milestones: The 25th anniversary of “The Velvet Rope,” the 30th of “janet,” and 35 years since the release of “Rhythm Nation.”

Jackson’s creative wings are also being stretched with other passion projects close to her heart: Her documentary “Janet Jackson: Family First” based on the 2023 Together Again tour is the continuation of her earlier, super-successful, two-part documentary “Janet Jackson.”

There’s so much gleaming metal in the 58-year-old’s career, it’s hard to keep track: Five Grammys, two Emmys, a Golden Globe, and a nomination for an Oscar, plus dozens of other awards.

The tenth and youngest of the Jackson children, Janet Jackson continues on her upward trajectory and there’s no telling where or if she’ll land.

Alan Jackson says he’s ‘hanging it up full time’ — right after one last country-music tour

Country music‘s Alan Jackson is hanging up his cowboy hat, announcing his final tour dates while his health is “getting worse.”

“I’ve been touring for over 30 years, you know, played everywhere in the country and parts of the world and had a wonderful career,” he said in a video posted on X, announcing the final dates of his Last Call: One More for the Road farewell tour.

The “Chattahoochee” singer, 65, cited a desire to spend more time with family — in particular, his three daughters and his grandchildren — as he enters his “twilight years.”

“I enjoy spending more time at home and don’t want to be away like I had to be in my younger days,” he said. “I think it’s just getting time to start thinking about hanging it up full time.”

Alan Jackson postpones upcoming weekend concerts to deal with ‘health issues’

‘I hoped I’d be able to be there; I hate to disappoint my fans,’ Jackson said of postponing a couple of upcoming weekend shows.

Oct. 5, 2022

Another factor in Jackson’s decision was his diagnosis with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, a genetic neurological condition that affects muscle control in the feet and hands. The condition is not fatal but can severely restrict mobility, according to the Cleveland Clinic . The singer has had to postpone shows in order to deal with related health issues , notably halting a multi-show outing in 2022 to deal with “health issues” stemming from the disease.

“Most of my fans know I have a degenerative health condition that affects my legs and arms and my mobility,” the two-time Grammy winner explained in this week’s video. “And it’s getting worse.”

“It makes me more uncomfortable on stage and I just have a hard time. I just want to think about maybe calling it quits before I’m unable to do the job like I want to,” he concluded.

Implicit in the name of Alan Jackson’s current road show, the Keepin’ It Country tour, is the idea that this veteran country star is engaged in some resistance.

Feb. 28, 2015

The Country Music Hall of Fame member revealed his diagnosis in a 2021 interview on “ Today ,” explaining that he decided to make the information public because it was beginning to visibly affect his performances.

“I just wanted the fans and the public to know if they’ve come to see me in the last few years or if they come to see me in the future if I play anymore, what’s going on,” he told co-host Jenna Bush Hager.

“In some ways, [disclosing the condition is] a relief because I was starting to get so self-conscious up there, about stumbling around,” he said. “And it just made me nervous up there trying to keep my balance. And I look pitiful. So I think it’ll be good for me now to get it out in the open, and so if anybody’s curious why I don’t walk right, that’s why.”

At the time, the entertainer said he had no plans to stop touring but that his health condition might affect his availability.

Jackson’s final shows will be played from August to May in Boston; Grand Rapids, Mich.; Fayetteville, Ark.; Kansas City, Mo.; Salt Lake City; Oklahoma City; Fort Worth, Texas; Orlando and Tampa, Fla., and Milwaukee. Tickets went on sale Friday.
