Lambasingi - 'The Kashmir of Andhra pradesh'

Lambasingi (or lammasingi) is a small village in the chintapali mandal of vishakapatnam district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The place is often referred as the "Kashmir of Andhra Pradesh" because of the temperature which goes up to as low as -2 degree Celsius in December- January. The village is situated at a height of above 1000 meters above the sea level.

The village is also called KORRA BAYALU, which in local dialect means "freeze like a stick".

We a group of people started to lambasingi on 8th of December from rushikonda, vishakapatnam, and the distance to be travelled is around 100 Km's, and we opted two wheelers as the mode of transport to reach the village, and trust me you wouldn't regret, because only on two wheeler you'd get the opportunity to experience the atmosphere, to feel the nature, the breezes passing through, etc(I recommend you to only opt for two wheelers). We started from rushikonda around 3pm in the noon, and by the time we reached there it was almost 7.30, because we had to stop at several places for a smoke, accumulating food, booze,etc, and the very essence of lambasingi could be experienced even before reaching the village. We were about 25km far from the village when we started to feel the cold breeze touching our bodies and we started to shiver, but still, we could manage to drive safely. (winter wear is very much needed, without which we'll freeze)

Lambasingi is all about experiencing the nature in its lap, so we don't find any hotels to stay over there, but the best part is camping tents. For people who are very much interested in camping under the stars, bonfire, this is the best place, and on the way to lambasingi we can find many vendors selling the camp tents, we can either take them for rent(they charge 200 bucks per tent as rent, but we even need to give them some deposit amount around 300,which they would return when we return the tents) or purchase them, or even get our own.

We hired around 6 tents and reached lambasingi , and there are open grounds where we placed our tents, and we also get to find many local vendors selling the traditional Andhra food in lambasingi, the bamboo chicken is a must try.

And hence We started to set our tents, we were freezing like hell and it was damn cold!!!! Thanks to my friend who carried blankets, I was wearing a jacket and a head cap but I was still freezing cold, and we had food and set up a bonfire near our camp, and i stopped freezing only after sitting next to the bonfire.

We spent time around the campfire playing; guess the movie, roasting one another, and when it was 5 am in the morning we went around the village, and tried exploring all the possible places in and around lambasingi, and believe me we had amazing view all around and our hardwork paid off finally!!!! There was fog everywhere, fog was dripping over everything, it was a very beautiful experience and we went to have breakfast at some local vendors, who make the best food, and we started back to rushikonda around 9.00am.

Lambasingi should be on your bucket list for all the people who would love to experience new and unknown places.

Vijayawada: RTC special tour package for Lambasingi, Borra Caves

The APSRTC NTR district is going to start excursion tours to Lambasingi, Paderu, Araku Valley and Borra Caves (Borra Guhalu) with a special package from May 5.

Vijayawada (NTR district) : The APSRTC NTR district is going to start excursion tours to Lambasingi, Paderu, Araku Valley and Borra Caves (Borra Guhalu) with a special package from May 5. The four-day special tour will be operated on every Friday and weekend. The ticket fare will be Rs 2,500 per head.

In a press statement on Friday, NTR district public transport department officer M Yesudanam said that the special tour package would start at Pandit Nehru Bus Station (PNBS) in Vijayawada on May 5 and conclude on May 8. The super luxury bus service 95400 would start from PNBS at 9 am and pass via Tuni, Narsipatnam and reach Lambasingi at 5 am on May 6, he said.

The agency tour would start at Lambasingi at 6 am and the tour would proceed to Paderu and breakfast will be at 8.30 am. Later, on the first day, tourists would see Lambasingi, Kothapalli Waterfalls, Paderu, Modakondamma Ammavari temple and Chaparai Waterfalls, and they would take lunch at a resort at Araku. After that, the tour would continue for Araku Padmapuram Gardens and night halt at Araku.

Tourists would take dinner and participate in the Campfire at Araku, he added.

On May 7, day two, the tour would start with breakfast at the resorts. Later, people would visit Araku Tribal Museum and Coffee Museum, and lunch at a resort at Araku. Later, the tourists would go to Borra Caves and after completion of the caves visit they would go to Kailasa Giri and reach the RK beach at Visakhapatnam to have dinner.

PTDO Yesudanam said that the special tourist bus would start at Visakhapatnam at 9 pm and reach Vijayawada at 6 am on May 8. Tourists, who are interested in taking this special tour, should reserve their tickets online or at the authorized RTC agent, he said.

Hill resort at Lambasingi to be inaugurated soon

VISAKHAPATNAM: A modern hill resort, constructed by the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC), at Lambasingi, a village in the Eastern Ghats of Chintapalli mandal in Alluri Sitarama Raju district is set to be inaugurated in a week or two.

Located 35 km from Narsipatnam and 40 km from Paderu, Lambasingi is a popular tourist destination which attracts travel enthusiasts from not only Andhra Pradesh, but also from other neighbouring states. A heavy influx of tourists is witnessed at the hill station during winters when the mercury drops to zero degrees Celsius.

The Haritha Hill resort will have eight suites with all amenities. There has been a demand for such a permanent facility at Lambasingi for a long time now, APTDC deputy divisional manager, K Haritha pointed out. On tariffs, she said, “Nothing is fixed yet, but the suites will be affordable.”Currently, the APTDC only provides tent houses, while some private players run some other facilities.

Haritha said the Corporation has been operating Lambasingi package tour, covering Lambasingi hill point view, Kothapalli waterfalls, Matsyagundam and Modakondamma temple. Paderu ITDA (Integrated Tribal Development Authority) has also introduced tourist attractions such as zipline, bungee jumping, and boat riding at Tajangi Lake, situated within seven km radius of Lambasingi.

Following a drop in the number of Covid cases, there has been a steady surge in footfalls at tourist destinations, officials said and added that revenue has almost doubled this year as against last year. It may be noted that travel and hospitality sector were severely affected for two years due to the outbreak of the SARS-Cov-2 virus. Elaborating, Haritha said Rs 2.48 crore revenue was raked in at Borra Caves this year, up from Rs 1.23 crore recorded last year. Recently, tariff at Borra Caves in Araku Valley was increased by Rs 10. Tickets for adults cost Rs 80 and Rs 60 for children.

Officials are making arrangements at the hill station ahead of heavy tourist influx during winters, the APTDC official said and added that as part of agri tourism, they will soon be introducing a package tour to Regional Agricultural Research Station (RARS) at Chintapalli, home to very rare flora and fauna.

Elaborating on other facilities, Haritha said the APTDC has both water and road transport fleet. There are six buses, including two mini buses, and two SUV vehicles, besides a few speed boats at Rushikonda Beach.

“The boating facility, introduced recently from the fishing jetty, has received good response,” she said. The boat runs daily from the fishing harbour to the backwaters, covering 1.5 km, between 9 am and 5 pm. The charge for the 10-minute boat ride is Rs 250 per head, she explained.

There are package tours to Araku, Pancharama Kshetras, city tour, Arasavalli and Papikondalu as well, she pointed out and said tourist influx is high during summer and winter seasons, and Dasara vacation.

యశ్వంత్‌పూర్ రైల్వే స్టేషన్‌లో ఉదయం 08:30 గంటల నుంచి రిజిస్ట్రేషన్, చెక్ ఇన్ ప్రారంభం అవుతుంది. యశ్వంత్ పూర్ నుంచి ఉదయం 9.45 గంటలకు రైలు బయలుదేరుతుంది. మధ్యాహ్నం 1.30 గంటలకు రైలు నంజన్‌గూడు చేరుకుంటుంది. మధ్యాహ్నం 2:45 గంటలకు (1 గంట 30 నిమిషాల డ్రైవ్) బందీపూర్ నేషనల్ పార్క్ డ్రైవ్ కు వెళ్తారు. సాయంత్రం సఫారీ (4:30 గంటల నుంచి 6:30 గంటల వరకు) ఉంటుంది. రాత్రి 8:15 గంటలకు రైల్వే స్టేషన్ కు తిరిగి వస్తారు. రైలు మైసూర్‌కు వెళ్లే సమయంలో ఆన్‌బోర్డ్ లోనే డిన్నర్ చేస్తారు. రాత్రికి మైసూరుకు చేరుకుని రైలులోనే బస చేస్తారు.

2వ రోజు : ఆదివారం (మైసూరు)

ఉదయం రైలులోనే అల్పాహారం చేస్తారు. అనంతరం మైసూరు ప్యాలెస్ చూడడానికి వెళ్తారు. శ్రీరంగపట్నం(Optional) సందర్శన తర్వాత భోజనం కోసం రైలు వద్దకు తిరిగి వెళ్తారు. రైలు రాత్రి 8.00 గంటలకు బనావర్‌ లో ఇంధనం కోసం ఆగుతుంది.

3వ రోజు : సోమవారం (హళేబీడు, చికమగళూరు)

ఉదయం బాణావర్ రైల్వే స్టేషన్ చేరుకుంటారు. అక్కడ నుంచి హళేబీడు సందర్శనకు వెళ్తారు. రైలు చికమగళూరు కు వెళుతుండగా ఆన్‌బోర్డ్‌లో లంచ్ ఉంది. సాయంత్రం కాఫీ ప్లాంటేషన్ సందర్శన తర్వాత చికమగళూరులో సాంస్కృతిక కార్యక్రమాలు, విందు ఉంటాయి. ఆ తర్వాత రైలులో హోస్పేట్‌కు బయలుదేరుతుంది.

4వ రోజు : మంగళవారం (హోస్పేట్)

రైలు హోస్పేట్ కు చేరుకుంటుంది. అక్కడి నుంచి హంపి క్షేత్రానికి వెళ్లారు. హంపి సందర్శన అనంతరం తిరిగి స్టేషన్ కు చేరుకుంటారు. సాయంత్రం రైలు గోవాకు బయలుదేరుతుంది.

5వ రోజు: బుధవారం (గోవా)

ఉదయం కర్మాలి చేరుకుంటారు. బ్రేక్ ఫాస్ట్ చేసిన తర్వాత నార్త్ గోవా చర్చిలను సందర్శిస్తారు. ఉదయం 09:00 గంటలకు రైలు దిగి స్థానిక ప్రదేశాల సందర్శన ఉంటుంది. మధ్యాహ్నం 12:00 గంటలకు తిరిగి స్టేషన్ కు వస్తారు. రైలు మడ్‌గావ్‌కు బయలుదేరుతుంది. సౌత్ గోవాలోని ఒక హోటల్‌లో సాయంత్రం గాలా డిన్నర్ యాక్టివిటీ ఉంటుంది. అనంతరం రాత్రి 11.30 గంటలకు రైలు బెంగుళూరు కు తిరిగి ప్రయాణం అవుతుంది.
