SEATTLE, WA (July 6, 2021) – Trixie Mattel and Katya Zamolodchikova announced their first U.S. tour together, Trixie And Katya Live presented by Obsessed and powered by Five Senses Reeling. The tour will kick off March 15 and 16, 2022, in San Francisco, CA, with 20 additional dates throughout the country, including Chicago, Milwaukee, Philadelphia, Dallas, and more. Trixie And Katya Live is a parody homage to the classic female road trip comedies from the 90s to today. From drag classics To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar and The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert , to Crossroads and Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar , Trixie And Katya Live tells the story of two well-traveled women going out on the road together. The comic performer of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” fame has been on a sold-out run of her popular podcast with Trixie Mattel

“RuPaul’s Drag Race” alum Katya Zamolodchikova announced Tuesday she is postponing remaining “Bald and the Beautiful” tour dates with cohost Trixie Mattel after deciding to check into rehab.

Most commonly known by the moniker Katya (birth name Brian McCook), the lauded drag performer posted on Instagram that she is “squarely and firmly and quite uncomfortably” choosing an unnamed “institution” to address her ongoing journey in sobriety. The entertainer has previously been open about her history of alcohol and drug abuse.

“There’s a saying for the active alcoholic or drug addict that the trajectory of the life course has three possible outcomes: A) jail, B) institutions or C) death,” Katya began. “Unfortunately, I find myself squarely and firmly and quite uncomfortably in the B camp right now.”

The straight-to-camera video post continued: “But in an effort to make things good with you in the future, I’ve got to make things good for me right now. So rest assured that any rescheduled dates or potential loss of money will be rectified as swiftly and competently as possible. I’ve got to swiftly and competently rectify my ass right now. So thank you so much for your patience and compassion and I hope that you have a wonderful day.”

Event production company Obsessed posted a statement of its own shortly after, standing in solidarity with Katya and requesting privacy for her and Mattel as she “navigates this step in her health.”

“When it comes to our talent, their mental and physical well being always has been and will remain our first priority,” the statement began. “We wish Katya the best and send our unwavering love and support as she navigates this step in her health.

“We appreciate your grace as we work to reschedule shows and focus on supporting our talent and friend. Katya and Mattel had forthcoming “Bald and the Beautiful” podcast tour dates in Cincinnati, Ohio (May 9), Indianapolis, Indiana (May 10), Albuquerque, New Mexico (Sept. 5) and Sacramento, California (Sept. 7). It remains unclear if the September dates will be impacted by Katya’s announcement.

Katya is best known for competing on “RuPaul’s Drag Race” Season 7, in which she placed fifth, and on the franchise’s second all stars season, placing second. 5 Things You Need to Know About Hormone Therapy From an Lgbtq+ Nurse Practitioner

When I started medical transition at 20 years old, it was very difficult to get the care I needed for hormone replacement therapy because there are very few providers trained in starting hormones for trans people, even though it’s very similar to the hormones that we prescribe to women in menopause or cisgender men with low testosterone.

I hope more providers get trained in LGBTQ+ healthcare , so they can support patients along their individual gender journey, and provide the info needed to make informed decisions about their body. I’ve personally seen my trans patients find hope and experience a better quality of life through hormone replacement therapy.

If you don’t have a primary care physician who specializes in LGBTQ+ care in your community, you may need to educate yourself (and your provider). But, before you seek such therapy, here are five things you should know!

Monitor closely. At Spectrum Medical Care Center , we screen patients for certain risks before starting anyone on hormones. We frequently monitor patients in the first year to ensure there are no adverse reactions and lab results are within safe ranges. Follow-up care is also important to assess your comfort with the transition as well as the social impact and social support you’re experiencing.
Some changes are permanent, some temporary. For transmasculine individuals going on testosterone, they’ll experience these permanent changes: deepened voice, clitoral enlargement (also known as bottom growth), more body, facial hair, and male pattern baldness. Reversible changes include cessation of menses, increased muscle mass and strength, body fat redistribution, and skin oiliness or acne. For those going on estrogen therapy, the most permanent change is breast growth. Feminizing hormone therapy can also cause atrophy (shrinkage) of the genitals and loss of erectile function that may not be reversible. Estrogen will thin body hair, soften the skin, can increase scalp hair, and decrease muscle mass and strength, all of which are reversible.
You can’t pick and choose results. Unfortunately, you can’t pick and choose the physical changes you want, which may feel challenging. Some of my patients will say, ‘ Okay, ‘I’ve seen the permanent changes I want, and I don’t want it to go any further, ’ and so at that point, we stop therapy. Low-dose hormone therapy can slow down the rate of changes, allowing for a more gradual physical transition. We counsel patients in advance about the common changes, and it’s up to the individual as to when they’d like to scale back and determine whether some benefits are worth the potential risks.
Be aware of risks. Like any medical treatment, there are potential risks involved. Some risks with testosterone therapy include increased red blood cell mass, acne, hypertension, sleep apnea, weight gain, and dyslipidemia (increases the chance of clogged arteries). Cardiovascular disease is likely increased with additional risk factors for testosterone and estrogen therapy. Transfeminine patients going on estrogen therapy may experience weight gain, thromboembolic disease (when a blood clot breaks off and blocks another blood vessel), and a high level of triglycerides in the blood.

The tour will kick off on 5 November 2022, with a massive show at London's famous Ovo Arena Wembley. Part of a European tour, they return to the UK in Glasgow on 25 November until 11 December at Dublin's 3 Arena, completing the mammoth 12 date UK tour. A full list of tour dates and venues is below.

Julie Newmar and The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, to Crossroads and Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar, Trixie And Katya Live tells the story of two well-travelled women going out on the road together. Trixie Mattel and Katya Zamolodchikova announced their first U.S. tour together, Trixie And Katya Live presented by Obsessed and powered by Five Senses Reeling. The tour will kick off March 15 and 16, 2022, in San Francisco, CA, with 20 additional dates throughout the country, including Chicago, Milwaukee, Philadelphia, Dallas, and more.
