  • At the time of the visa extension, the remaining validity of the visit visa should be less than a week. Or within 3 days after its expiry.

We are copying the text they have written on the Arabic version of the portal to clarify the remaining validity of the visa. Because in the English version, it says, ” Visit visa duration should be “more” than 7 days,” but it is “less” than 7 days in fact.

“في وقت التمديد يجب أن تكون المدة المتبقية في صلاحية التأشيرة سبعة أيام أو أقل, أو أن لا يكون مضى على انتهائها أكثر من ثلاثة أيام.”

“At the time of extension, the remaining period of the validity of the visa must be seven days or less, or not more than three days old” ( translation by google)

Now in the days of CoronaVirus, Jawazat instructs that extend the visit visa before 7 days of expiry. The extension option is available in the Absher portal. If you have a visa of 1 year. then after 6 months you need to leave the Kingdom once and then re-enter.

However, nowadays, if the 6 months are about to complete then you can extend it without leaving Saudi Arab.

“  بإمكانك تمديد تأشيرة الزيارة عبر منصة أبشر أو مقيم قبل إنتهاء صلاحية سريانها بـ ٧ أيام. شاكرين تواصلك”

  • Pay the family visit visa extension fee before applying for an extension.

The family visit visa extension fee is just 100 Saudi Riyals. The payment process is quite easy. All you need is a bank account. You can also use a quickpay or tahweel al rajhi account. We are providing the procedure to pay the family visit visa extension fees. Click Here

This means that if you have a visit visa for 3 months duration, then you can renew it once for 3 months. Similarly, if the visa issued has a validity of 1 month, then it can be renewed for 5 more times.

saudi visit visa extension after 180 days

In Saudi Arabia, the General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) reminded that the multiple visit visa cannot be renewed for the second time and that one must adhere to the visa controls by leaving before its expiration date.

Saudi Jawazat clarified after a question was raised and asked: Is it true what is being circulated on social media about the cancellation of renewing visas?

In response, Jawazat said the instructions require compliance with the visa controls and departure from the Kingdom before the visa expires.

There have been complaints from expatriates that Jawazat's multiple visit visa renewal option is not working, since requests for it are being rejected after submission through Tawasul.

However, the other user explained that after 90 days, you can extend a multiple visit visa for another 90 days by visiting Jawazat office, 1 day before it expires. After 180 days, there will be no extension. In some cases, Jawazat may extend it for 14 days, so the visa holder can leave the Kingdom before it expires.

Those who wish to extend their multiple visas for the first time can make an appointment through Absher to visit Jawazat near Khobar Jawazat (Khobar Jawazat does not offer this service). If you are extending the multiple visit visa, attach the sponsor's iqama, a front and back copy of your passport, the receipt for the visa extension payment, the receipt for the insurance renewal, and a screenshot of the Absher error if you have it.

In the midst of the Corona pandemic, Jawazat extended multiple visit visas without conditions or limitations through Tawasul service, since there were travel restrictions and suspensions of flights from Kingdom to numerous countries. There are no more restrictions on travel and everyone must follow the conditions of the multiple visit visa.

Saudi Arabia: Visit visa can be extended seven days before expiry

Visa can be extended as long as it is accompanied by current medical insurance policy

visa application

Dubai: The Saudi General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) has said that the visit visa could be extended seven days before its expiry date as long as it is accompanied by a current medical insurance policy, local media reported.

If the visitor has medical insurance that complies with the service’s particular requirements, the visit visa for persons may be extended through the host’s account on the Absher platform seven days before its validity ends.

While Jawazat acknowledged that a fine for delaying the extension of the visit visa will be charged if three days had gone after its expiration date, it also underlined that the guidelines mandate that the overall extension of the visit visa must not exceed 180 days.

Jawazat reaffirmed that it is not feasible to change a visit visa into a residence visa.

It also noted that if the host’s record contains traffic violations, it does not hinder the renewal of the visitor’s visa for those on his record through the Absher platform.

The expiration of the host’s resident identity also does not hinder the extension of the visitor’s visit visa.

Visa validity calculation for 180 Days Work Visit Visa(multiple entry)

Satya_Abha

Hello everyone, I have been working in KSA on Work visit visas, before used to get 90 Days visa multiple Entry and get extension for another 30 days. Total 120 Days.  I am aware of previous Work visit visa & extension process, But this time i got 180 Days Work visit visa in Jan '17 & i am new to this visa & validity calculations.. Just want to know is 180 days visa literally mean 180 days of validity/stay in KSA? because when i completed my 6 multiple entries (28 days each :- 168 days)thought that my visa expired(as per previous calculations) & my company proceeded for an extension, Jawazat(MOI) replied that my visa has still 12 days more validity. I am not sure about this Validity, I suspect this validity as misunderstanding. Can anyone guide me on this visa validity Please. Thanks in advance.

I got my work visit visa extended for 30 more days after finishing 180 Days. Validity calculation is same as before... earlier used to get work visit visa for 90 Days (500 S.R), now it is 180 Days (3000 S.R) visa validity calculation (180 Days work visit visa multiple entry; duration of stay 30 days):-    1) visa valid from date of visa stamping to validity days (180 Days); 2) Last entry must be before 180th day of visa stamping. 3)  If last entry in KSA on 170th day of visa stamping visa would be valid for 30 more days i.e 170+30 = 210th day. Find below visa example:- Stamping date:- 18th JAN.(as per stamping date visa valid till 16th July) First Entry date 23rd Jan - - Last entry date 13th July Visa valid till 11th Aug Hope this is helpful for those who are all working on work visit visa.

Hello folks, I have work visit visa with 180 days with multiple entry and duration of stay is 30 days. Visa was stamped on 21 April 2017. First Travel Date is 04 May 2017. Last Entry Date is 13 September 2017. Now for my current last entry is expiring on 12 October. As per stamped date 180 validity is expiring on 17 October. I will apply for extension now and can you please tell till which date it can be extended?

affanghiyas

Hello guys I have a question. My wife was issued a multiple visit visa with a total validity for 1825 days that is for 5 yrs with each stay being for maximum of 180 days. At the moment she is not in Saudi for around 9 months. I wanna know if staying for so long outside the kingdom will cause the visa to expire or it's simply valid for 5 yrs as mentioned on visa. Where on internet can I find it's validity or status? Thanks in advance

Faadiak

Hi, I am currently in KSA on 180 days work visit visa. By calculating with the stamping date, my visa is valid till 8th Aug 2018. I would like to know when is the earliest date on which i can apply for 1month extension. Is it possible to apply for extension 15 or 20 days before. Also do i need to go back to india to get it extended.

Going out of kingdom a week ago should b fine. U don't have to necessarily go to india. Just go anywhere. Exit has to b signed on ur passport n on ur records here. Once u come back ur 180 days start from the day u entered. U can see that on absher on ur account. I hope I'm helpful. If u need more info ***

Hi, thanks for your answers. but its not completely clear for me. I have heard that, a one month extension is possible after 180 days. But i want to know if it is possible to get this extension after (for example) 160th  day or it is only allowed to extend just before the expiry date. Also, is it possible to get this extension from Saudi itself (without going outside KSA)

XTang

Is there any procedure or documents required for 30 days extension on completing 180 days

shahad1612

Hi Guys n  Gals, Salaam and Hello, New to the forum. I needed a help from you which is somewhat related to this post. I am on a WORK VISIT VISA with a validity of 30 Days. It is about to expire in about 10 Days. During the duration of my temporary work assignment, I have come to know that the Company/Sponsor that brought me in, is not reliable in the Work Profile and Salary to be delivered Criteria. I dont wish to extend my WORK VISIT VISA and would like to return home before the validity expires. Since some of you have already gone through the WORK VISIT VISA renewal and exit cycles, I would very much appreciate if somebody could tell me whether I would require an Exit Visa (as applicable for an Iqama Holder/Work Visa Holder) or any such documentation to exit KSA, during the valid period of my WORK VISIT VISA.

Hi guys, I have a visa for 180 days, every 30 days i need exit saudi and come back. So.yesterday i sent to Bahrein to exit, and i came back. But i didn't got another stamp with entry. I have one with exit, and the first stamp, that i got when i entered first time. Is it normal? Please help me.with this, in 2 days are expiring those 30 days. Thank you!

When you go via the causeway, Saudi immigration usually don't stamp the passport.  It depends on their mood.  If you were marked out and then in, in the system, it should not be a problem.

Thailand Expands Visa-Free Entry: 93 Nations Now Qualify

Peden Doma Bhutia , Skift

May 30th, 2024 at 7:26 AM EDT

Thailand's aggressive push to attract tourists through these visa promotions highlights its commitment to reviving the tourism sector and ensuring long-term economic stability.

Peden Doma Bhutia

In an effort to attract more tourists and remote workers, the Thai cabinet this week rolled out a series of new visa promotions, including visa-free and visa-on-arrival schemes, extended stays for students, and reduced compulsory health insurance for retirees.

Starting June 1, the number of countries eligible for visa-free entry to Thailand will increase from 57 to 93. Under the new scheme, visitors can stay in Thailand for up to 60 days, compared to the earlier limit of 30 days.

The countries eligible for visa-free stays include key tourism markets like China and India, as well as U.S., UK, Albania, UAE, Cambodia, Jamaica, Kazakhstan, Laos, Mexico, Morocco, Panama, Romania, Sri Lanka and Uzbekistan.

The Thai cabinet has also approved visa-on-arrival for 31 countries, up from the previous 19. This list includes Armenia, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Fiji and Malta

Government spokesperson Chai Wacharonke emphasized the importance of tourism to Thailand’s national economy and its role in job creation. From January to May 26 this year, Thailand recorded 14.3 million tourists and aims to reach a record 40 million foreign arrivals for the full year, with an expected revenue of THB 3.5 trillion ($95.73 billion).

In comparison, 2019 saw a record 39.9 million arrivals, generating THB 1.91 trillion in revenue.

New Measures for Students and Digital Nomads

In a bid to retain talent, postgraduate students will now be able to stay in Thailand for an additional year after graduation, provided they obtain certification from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation.

This extension aims to help foreign students secure employment in the country. According to Wacharonke currently there are approximately 40,000 such students in Thailand

Digital nomads will also benefit from the new visa policies. The “Destination Thailand Visa” will now be valid for five years, allowing a 180-day maximum stay per visit, extendable for another 180 days, with another THB 10,000 ($270) fee.

Previously, digital nomads were entitled to only two 30-day stays. Wacharonke noted that this measure targets remote workers, freelancers, and those interested in learning Muay Thai and Thai cuisine.

Eased Requirements for Retirees

Retirees aged 50 years or more seeking long-stay visas will benefit from reduced health insurance requirements. Currently, these visitors must have health insurance coverage worth THB 3 million ($82,000). The requirement is now lowered to THB 440,000 ($12,000), effective for applicants from September to December. Additionally, the cabinet approved the expansion of e-visa application services at Thai consulates and embassies, increasing from 47 to 94 locations starting in September.

Targeting Key Source Markets

China and India are among the largest and most important source markets for global tourism, and Thailand is keen to capture the interest of travelers from these countries.

Data firm ForwardKeys noted a 212% surge in travel from China to Kazakhstan during this year’s Labor Day holiday, with notable increases to Singapore, Azerbaijan, Malaysia, and the Maldives, following the relaxation of visa policies.

While Thailand and China have agreed on a reciprocal permanent visa exemption , Skift had earlier reported that Thailand’s slower recovery is attributed to ongoing safety concerns.

India is also a critical market for Thailand , being the fastest-growing source of tourists. In 2023, over 1.6 million Indian travelers visited Thailand, making it the fourth-largest source market for the country. These tourists contributed more than THB 63 billion ($1.7 billion) in spending.

In November last year, Thailand decided to grant visa-free entry to Indian citizens from November 10 till May this year. The Thai cabinet this month approved a plan to extend the visa exemption for six more months.
