I've had many pedicures in my life at various businesses, and have to say I've never had a bad experience. The only thing I always wished was that the massage of my legs and feet lasted longer. I had my first pedicure at Safari today and was very pleased. But what won me over was the lengthy wonderful massage. I even asked if this was a common practice or if she was possibly done earlier then expected and had extra time to fill and she said no this is how all pedicures are done that they all allot that much time for the massage! Plus they offer a quick but wonderful hand massage at the very end.....I definitely will be going back :)

I had a Stress Fix Massage here and had a pretty good experience overall. The atmosphere was relaxing and peaceful. It's probably the nicest spa in Red Deer. The massage was pretty decent too! I had one small issue and the owner contacted me immediately and resolved it. I have also had my hair cut and coloured here once and it was great experience. My hair turned out exactly as I'd hoped. Will most likely return!

I have been a customer at Safari for a few years. I really enjoy their relaxed atmosphere. If only the doctor's offices would be that relaxing.... The gals who have given me waxes, manis and pedis are always pleasant and professional and make sure that my experience is what I pay for. The parking, although not convenient, is not so serious that I get all worked up before I go in. That being said, I always park far away from doors to get a little walk in; helps me go over the things I need to do before I get there, ie. A grocery list. One thing I don't like is the inconsistency of the gals at the front desk. There are some girls that ask me about booking my next appt like clockwork, and there are a couple girls who can't get me out the door fast enough. There are some girls who have that pleasant "how can I help you" look, and there are other not-so-friendly "do you have an appt" looks. So some consistency at the front desk would make the overall experience wonderful. I would recommend this place to others without question.

Tonight I received the best facial hands down! Kim was fabulous. I have enjoyed other facials before but with the outer peace, I received so many extras. A massage, hand massage and scalp massage along with aromatherapy! It was pure bliss! After my treatment Kim told me they started the stream for me to enjoy, they gave me lemon water and I had access to the shower with all the hair products and face products I needed and these were all just perks, no extra charge. They also offered teas and chocolate strawberries , it was the perfect getaway! Highly recommend I can't wait to book again.

I recently went to safari to have my hair dyed a solid colour. I booked my appt a week in advance and requested a senior stylist to colour my hair as I have had bad experiences in the past (at other salons but my fiancée had a hair cut at safari before a Xmas party in December by an apprentice and his hair was butchered) and didn't want my hair getting screwed up. The day of my appt the stylist seemed very confident and like she knew what she was doing. I told her what colour I wanted and she also brought out swatches for me to choose from to really narrow down what I wanted. She started colouring my hair and it was going really red (I asked for a light brown kind of colour) and before I mentioned anything she assured me the colour would not be bright red like what I was seeing. She rinsed out my hair and it was soooo red and dark! I told her it was really red and so she put a toner in to darken the red. After she put the toner in it was just a dark-red basically and I was so upset seeing my hair go so wrong! I told her it was too dark and too red, so she told me to give it a day and she would follow up with me the following day and if I still didn't like it she would put highlights in for me the next day. I got home and immediately looked in the mirror and started crying! I called the salon back and asked to speak with a manager who was unavailable, but the receptionist said she would take a message and pass it along to her. I booked in for a correction with another girl for two days later and left the front desk girl a message for the mgr. The receptionist called me back 10 min later saying she had booked me in with another apprentice on Monday and I should just stick with the girl who originally did my hair (I didn't want her touching it again!) and I told her I had requested a senior person so why was I given an apprentice! She couldn't tell me, so I told her it has to be a senior person fixing my hair NOT another apprentice! The manager never called me back to follow up as to what happened and the next day when the stylist called me back she was laughing in the voice message she left me (not sure if she had just been talking to a coworker and they were laughing about something just as she was about to leave me a message, but that's very unprofessional in my opinion)! My correction was done by a senior stylist who was amazing to deal with, however, I'm still not sure if I will ever return to safari.

I've been to Safari 3 times, the first time I went was to match my hair to my hair extensions that I was going to get sewn in. She didn't do too bad of a job besides the fact that she didn't do exactly what I had wanted (darker colour underneath, which she didn't do at all, I wanted low lights she did about 3 foils which I couldn't even notice at all) and she didn't wash the colour off of the nape of my neck, it had already took 4 hours to do I got there at 6:00 pm and got home at 10:00 pm and sent me home with colour in my hair so I had to wash it again at home. That costed anout $150.00. Being a forgiving person I went back to the same girl to get my roots touched up and try to get it closer to what I had wanted, thinking people make mistakes she would do better this time. It was far from what I'd wanted, she AGAIN didn't rinse my hair properly, leaving the nape of my neck over processed and bleached out when it was supposed to be a dark blonde solid colour. It looked horrible. I called and complained which I hate doing but after spending $200.00 I thought I deserved WAY better than what I got. So I went in the next day for a free colour correction, I thought it would be quick and fixed. My hair didn't match my extensions at all they kept telling me they would blend I knew it was a lie, they toned my hair 3 times, my hair went from light blonde, with sombre roots to a solid mousey horrible orangey dark blonde, that's the best I can explain it. I was trying not to cry when I left which was probably very noticeable. All they said was good luck with your extensions blending... My boyfriend called for me when I got home because I was too upset to talk to them and they will not give me my money back, just offering me more free "corrections". Sorry but I don't want to screw up my hair any more than you already have. I will never go back to this salon it is overpriced and they clearly don't know how to do hair. I luckily got in the same night with a woman from her home and she did an amazing job, and for a fraction of the price. I would hope that Safari would just give up on getting my service and give me my money back. If the manager sees this review, this is Veronica Buehler my information will be in your system, call me. If I could give less than one star I would. Worst salon experience of my life.
