Eurocamp Safari Tent
The Eurocamp Safari Tent range takes camping in a tent to the next stage. The whole inspiration for the Safari tent was the African safari’s of bygone years.
As a result, the Safari tent is probably one of the most luxurious way to camp whilst still sleeping under canvas. Because of the luxury, we class Safari tents more as Glamping than camping.
In contrast to normal tents, each Safari Tent sits on wooden decking. The decking runs throughout the tent making the dining and living space one.
Within the living area you’ll find a lovely wooden dining set, sun loungers and even an electric heater. The living and dining space makes it a real treat to relax and enjoy some al fresco dining. Furthermore, the heater provides warmth on cooler evenings allowing you to continue on into the night.
Eurocamp Safari Tent Range
There are two different versions of the Eurocamp Safari tent but both have proper beds. Firstly, there is a Safari tent that sleeps 5 and secondly one that sleeps 6.
The 5 berth Safari Tent has wooden decking that covers the entire 30m2 and enjoys 2 bedrooms. One bedroom has a double bed and the second has bunk beds and a single bed. Meanwhile the 6 berth Safari Tent is 40m2 and enjoys 1 double bed, a twin bed and 2 pull out beds.
Each of the Safari Tents enjoys a central living room area. There is also a fully equipped kitchen, a fridge freezer, electric lights, extra sockets to charge your essentials, an electric heater and BBQ at certain campsites.
If you love the look of the Eurocamp Safari Tent and would like to find out more simply click the button below. If you’d like to find out about other types of accommodation you can do so by looking at our Eurocamp accommodation page. Night ferry to France
This year we decided to take the night ferry to France and we had booked to sail from Plymouth to Roscoff with Brittany Ferries as we only live half an hour from Plymouth. Our chosen campsite for two weeks was Le Clarys Plage in the Vendee and we decided to travel at night as we hoped that sleeping during the crossing would mean that no-one would feel seasick.

Discover glamping with the Okavango Premium Safari Lodge Tent
The term glamping comes from the contraction of “camping” and “glamour”, but another definition could just as easily be the Premium Okavango Safari Lodge Tent! Camping, yes, but also 3-star comfort for your vacation at La Serre green campsite.
As if nestled in the trees, lost in the heart of nature, the Tente Lodge Safari Okavango Premium is perched on a small wooded knoll in the heart of the La Serre estate, with the local animals and birds as its companions: it’s a veritable safari in Ariège that you’ll experience for your vacation!
Set on two levels, the Premium Okavango Safari Lodge Tent is both a tent and a home in its own right. This is the principle behind the lodge tent, a true emblem of luxury glamping, offering both the sensation of outdoor living and the top-of-the-range comfort of permanent accommodation.
The quality of the materials used is reflected in both the wood used in the structure and the furniture, and the breathable fabric of the lodge tent, which maintains the link with the outdoors while providing excellent insulation.
The Okavango Premium Safari Lodge Tent is the ultimate glamping experience!
A luxurious lodge tent in the middle of nature
But the charm of the Okavango Premium Safari Lodge Tent also lies in its exceptional location: the surrounding trees provide shade during the many sunny days, while offering great privacy.
At Camping La Serre, each pitch is pleasantly secluded from the others.
The large wooden terrace lets you enjoy the outdoors to the full, with chaise-longues and a dining table for gatherings. Covered, it measures no less than 22m².
Essential to the success of your stay, the lodge tent is equipped with its own barbecue, at your disposal.
In the spirit of glamping, the Okavango Premium Safari Lodge Tent lets you move constantly between the outside and inside of your accommodation: it’s camping in comfort!
All you have to do is pull up the tent to open up the living room, with its cosy sofa and coffee table.
A real living room at the center of the lodge tent, the living room also includes a fully-equipped open kitchen, with a 4-burner gas hob, sink, microwave oven, coffee maker, crockery, fridge and freezer, etc. Everything you need for a perfectly self-sufficient stay, and plenty of space to cook all the regional produce you can find on the markets of the Ariège!
Comfortable vacations in the south of France in a lodge tent
Spacious and comfortable, the Safari Okavango Premium Lodge Tent offers a surface area of 57m², and easily accommodates 6 people: with family, friends, or why not alone or as a couple to benefit from maximum space, all scenarios are possible.
For sleeping, one adult bedroom is equipped with a king-size four-poster bed for two, while two bedrooms on the upper floor of the lodge tent feature four single beds.
A bathroom with shower completes the set, and exempts occupants of the Tente Lodge Safari Okavango Premium from using the shared sanitary facilities at the campsite.
Calm, sun, nature and pets welcome!
With its wooden structure and canvas that blends into the background, the Tente Lodge Safari Okavango Premium blends naturally into its surroundings: all around, the La Serre estate abounds in particularly rich flora and fauna, while the campsite’s facilities complete the comfort of your stay.
At Camping La Serre, the emphasis is on peace and quiet for residents.
Your lodge tent, a haven of peace in the middle of nature, will ensure you a restful and relaxing vacation for a weekend, a week or two of freedom, and for the luckiest ones, for a month or even longer!
Sun worshippers have no hesitation in booking at La Serre campsite: we’re in Ariège!
The Tente Lodge Safari Okavango Premium is open for rental from April 01 to October 31, throughout the summer season in Occitanie.
And for our four-legged friends, there’s no need to worry: pets are welcome at camping vert La Serre.
Vacations in a 3-star green campsite
The pleasure of staying in the Tente Lodge Safari Okavango Premium owes much to the quality facilities and comprehensive services offered by the La Serre green campsite: a 3-star rating that’s more than justified!
All you need to do to convince yourself of this is to consult the feedback on the Internet, such as the Tripadvisor certificate of excellence obtained by the campsite: indeed, how can you fail to appreciate the smiling welcome, the quality service and the availability of this human-scale, environmentally-friendly establishment?
Under the Occitan sun, the mercury climbs steadily in Ariège, and holidaymakers at La Serre campsite make the most of it: the wooded grounds offer plenty of shade, as around the Okavango Premium Safari Lodge Tent, and the swimming pool is the perfect place to cool off from the heat.
See you at the pool! The large pool is ideal for swimming laps, while the whirlpool is designed to relax the body.
Everything has been thought of for the little ones too: the pool is completely safe, and a paddling pool means they too can play in the water, without risk.
Around the pool, the natural solarium is bathed in sunlight: choose your deckchair and relax.
In addition to the outdoor swimming pool, guests of the Tente Lodge Safari Okavango Premium will also have access to a wide choice of activities at the La Serre campsite.
The playground includes a soccer, volleyball and badminton pitch, a mountain bike track, and the all-important table soccer and table tennis. If necessary, the kids’ club takes over, to the delight of the youngest.
Added to these facilities are a full range of services, to make your stay in the Safari Okavango Premium Tent Lodge as easy as possible: free wifi connection around the campsite reception, laundry facilities, grocery store with regional products, fresh bread and croissants every morning, restaurant-bar with takeaway service, ice creams and drinks, a social area to meet and make friends with the cosmopolitan holidaymakers of Domaine La Serre… glamping with all the spirit of camping!
The Premium Okavango Safari Lodge Tent in the heart of nature
The charm of the Okavango Premium Safari Lodge Tent lies in its privileged environment.
More than just a campsite, Domaine La Serre has been classified an LPO© refuge by the French League for the Protection of Birds!
Set in the heart of the countryside, La Serre ecological campsite covers an area of 10.5 hectares, with numerous trees and, in places, unmowed areas to enhance the health of its ecosystem: from your lodge tent, a whole area for nature lovers to explore! They won’t be disappointed, in terms of both flora and fauna.
The estate is a veritable haven for birds: chirping is omnipresent around the secluded Okavango Premium Safari Lodge Tent, and the most expert will recognize here a blackbird, there a green woodpecker, or the song of a nuthatch… with the occasional impressive wingspan of a griffon vulture!
It’s also not unusual to see a pretty butterfly alight on the terrace of your lodge tent: many species of butterfly flourish on the La Serre eco-camping estate. Amateurs always keep their cameras close at hand!
The show can also be seen on land at La Serre campsite, whose grounds are strewn with a multitude of wild flowers: with its patches of dry lawn and privileged sunshine, it is home to over 20 species of orchid, each representing a unique pleasure for the walker’s eyes.
Ecological care for… a long time
Make the most of this unspoilt natural setting with your 100% eco-friendly lodge tent, a priority for La Serre green campsite.
Concerned about the impact of their campsite on the environment, the owners are committed to a green approach that respects nature.
Taking full advantage of the abundant Ariège sunshine, La Serre campsite is equipped with photovoltaic panels to supply electricity to all the campsite’s accommodation (and more!), including your lodge tent fitted with low-energy bulbs.
At the Safari Okavango Premium Tented Lodge, everything is designed to facilitate waste sorting: paper, glass and packaging each have their own bin, while bio-bins are provided for composting.
The use of chemicals and pollutants by campsite staff is prohibited, in order to minimize the impact on the environment. Reception will even collect your used batteries!
Discover Ariège!
La Serre green campsite and your Safari Okavango Premium Lodge Tent are great places to live, but it would be a shame not to explore the surrounding area too: the Ariège region in Occitanie is a wonderful place!
So, within an hour’s drive of La Serre campsite, we invite you to discover the historical heritage of the Ariège.
Start your visit with Carcassonne, a medieval city listed as a Unesco World Heritage Site, or Mirepoix, with its old stones, half-timbered houses and typical market…
In the heart of Cathar country, castles are among the region’s top attractions. Don’t miss the emblematic Château de Montségur, as well as the castles of Arques, Puivert, Lagarde and Foix.
Other must-see sites in Ariège are the caves in this hilly region at the foot of the Pyrenees. There are four caves in the vicinity to attract curious visitors: the Niaux cave and its prehistoric paintings, the Lombrives cave and its little train, the vast Mas d’Azil cave, or even more unusual, a cruise on the Labouiche underground river, nicknamed the “Venice of the Ariege”!
Ariège’s heritage also includes its cuisine and terroir. At markets, local producers, local restaurants…
Take the time to sample the varied charcuterie and meats, organic fruit and vegetables, local Ariege specialties, and of course the AOC (Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée) wines that characterize Occitanie.
And to make the most of the comfort of your Premium Okavango Safari Lodge Tent, a word of advice: enjoy the great outdoors in Ariège!
Whether on foot or by bike, hiking is the best way to explore the area at your own pace. There are no fewer than 40 itineraries within easy reach of the La Serre campsite.
Other activities are there to vary the experience: try your hand at accrobranche, kayaking or caving, let off steam at the Camurac leisure park, take to the go-kart track, or go for a first flight in a paraglider… the choice is yours!

An unforgettable outdoor holiday
With large handmade wooden beds, soft solar lighting and individually crafted furniture, camping has never been so luxurious. Our spacious tents sit on a wooden deck and offer space, privacy and views of the verdant valley beyond. In our woodland spa shower and safari bathrooms, you’ll have the opportunity to shower under the trees in the warm summer air. Prepare a meal or barbecue in the fully equipped summer kitchen to create a home from home experience. Discover the joy of swimming in cool, crystal-clear water by taking a dip in our natural pool.
The safari tents were beautifully decorated and well appointed. I don’t even know where to start on the pool, it is tranquil and relaxing but has an aspect of adventure. As you swim nature thrives around you and there is no feeling better than to dive into the crisp water on a hot day. Nigel and Claire treated all the guests like family, suggesting nearby markets and activities. We are already booked for next year!

Summer holidays with teenagers and retreat & nature vacations in France
Let nature nurture you and come to empty your mind and recharge at Simply Canvas Farm. Immerse yourself in nature and go on holiday with teenagers in France at our small-scale natural place. Or come to recharge during a nice retreat vacation in France. Learn more about nature during a nature vacation with our food forest course or come dance during our active vacations in France.
Somewhere between Bordeaux and Toulouse, on the edge of the Dordogne and Lot et Garonne departments, tucked away between hills filled with sunflowers and vineyards, you will find Simply Canvas Farm where you can come for retreats and nature vacations. Life walks along gently in this calmer part of France and leisurely leads along winding paths, swaying hammocks, and crackling campfires. The food is delicious, there are idyllic medieval villages like Eymet and Duras nearby where people still say hello. The farmers' markets are full of local growers, and you can take your fresh croissants from the baker to the café to enjoy with your coffee. The perfect environment for a green and eco-friendly holiday with teenagers or to relax during a retreat.
At Simply Canvas Farm you can stay in 3 holiday homes, one of the 6 safari tents (with electricity, kitchenette, and private bathroom within a short walking distance) or our tiny house. Nature is central to us, along with delicious food. We are a permaculture farm including a food forest. You can walk around our 5-hectare property while eating figs and pears from the trees. Of course, there is a large fenced pool. Our place is located near Bergerac, Eymet, and Duras on the edge of Lot et Garonne and Dordogne in Southern France.

On holiday with teenagers, retreat vacation or active vacation
On holiday with teenagers in France 2024 from July 27 - August 10.
During the teenage holidays in France, we don't organize anything special, it's not necessary at all. But of course, it's extra fun if there are teenagers of your own age present at a small-scale holiday destination. The ages are usually between 11 and 16, you can always email to inquire about the ages of the teenagers in a particular week. Read more here . The teenage holiday in France is full of cheerfulness. It's wonderful to stay on a permaculture farm with a food forest and 5 hectares of land for swimming, hammocks, campfires, making friends, and lots of fun. We end all weeks with a campfire and marshmallows and a wish in our wishing tree. Fresh bread for breakfast is included in your holiday accommodation (you provide your own toppings).
There are plenty of great things to do in the area . You can go canoeing or swimming in the Dordogne nearby, taste a variety of wines, or visit a beautiful climbing park. There is a beautiful castle full of medieval games (Chateau de Bridoire), charming medieval bastide villages with good restaurants and farmers' markets. Eymet, Duras, Ste Foy la Grande, and Miramont de Guyenne are all within 10 minutes' drive.
The importance of emptying your mind
Santi and I have years of experience in mindfulness and meditation, as well as guiding retreats. We understand the importance of taking care of your emotional well-being. We achieve this through daily practice, making choices that enhance the quality of our lives, and also by occasionally taking a retreat or nature vacation to clear our minds. We are happy to share our experience with you. We invite various special guides to lead retreats and nature vacations. You are welcome to come and clear your mind and resource with us.
Nature Retreats and Holidays
Do you feel the need to resource yourself? You've come to the right place. We organize various mindfulness and meditation retreat holidays or retreat holidays in other areas such as mantra singing or dance. But you can also opt for a bit more activity by getting your hands dirty during a practical food forest course and learning more about nature, or by volunteering for a week in the spring.
Mindfulness Retreat August
17-22 August (guided both in English and Dutch). This mindfuless retreat in France is a unique chance to bring peace and relaxation to your body and mind in an environment that offers balance and nature.

The Surroundings
Flower essences and organic and daily support that required little time.
We encourage you to explore the healing power of the flower world. The enchanting impact of flower essences lies in their ability to restore harmony. They serve as a daily soul supplement and work for our emotional and spiritual well-being. Discover the unique flower essences handmade on Simply canvas Farm and their potential to enhance your health and stability regularly. Simply incorporate a few drops into your tea or water container each day.
What others think of our place
With a big smile, I look back on the retreat. I enjoyed it! Enjoyed you, Santi, the participants, Sarah (the cat), the beautiful location, as well as the program. I must not forget to explicitly mention the masterful chef, of course.
A joyous celebration of life, togetherness and great food!
I love kicking off the summer every year at the Let's Connect festival. It's my me-time, perfect in 5 days. I enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, engaging workshops, and delicious, wholesome food. The beautiful location with sunsets etched forever in my mind is just an added bonus!
Getting a food forest course from Martijn and Marente is already a delight. But if that also happens at that magical place of Sandra and Santi, then it can't get any better. Enjoying a delicious meal together and discussing life's questions by the campfire with others while savoring a nice glass of wine. That's when it's complete!
Simply Canvas Farm in southwest France offers an enchanting escape in nature, where intimacy blends with luxury safari tents. A gift to yourself, where you can connect with nature, each other, and find inner balance in the beautiful setting of the farm. It's no wonder that I am looking forward to being there again this year.

For years France has been one of the most popular holiday destination in Europe and with good reason! A holiday in France offers countless possibilities for an unforgettable holiday! Whether you long for a beach holiday or an active holiday, the French regions are home to a rich diversity of cultures, customs and traditions. From the vast beaches of the Languedoc-Roussillon and the Vendée to the lakes and forests of the Jura: enjoy a wonderful camping holiday in France! Rent-a-Tent offers beautiful camp sites in France. Book a stay in a GlamLodge tent or safaritent and enjoy your summer holiday in France.
Vive la France
Enjoy French cuisine and wines to the full in France, these are as varied as the country itself! La France is so diverse that there is actually something for everyone. Rent-a-Tent has selected a large number of child-friendly camping holiday destinations in France. At these campsites you can rent fully equipped bungalow, safari and lodge tents and luxury mobile homes.
On the westcoast of France you can find regions like Picardy, Normandy, Brittany, the Vendée, the Charente Maritime, and the more southern Atlantic coast. Here you can find beautiful sand beaches, huge cliffs, historical monuments, idyllic fisherman towns, and lots of sun. From the Canal to the Gulf of Biscay, France provides a great variety of waterside options.
The south of France is dominated by coastal cities that are known all over the whole world. Think of the cities like Montpellier, Nice, and Cannes. Other cities that you might not know but are definitely worth the visit are Cap d'Agde and Barcarès. In the south you find regions like Côte d'Azur and the Languedoc-Roussillon, regions where the sun always shines. Ardèche and the Provence provide a completely different atmosphere than what you find at the beach cities.
In the eastern part of France you can find the majestic mountains. The mountains are very rough in the south and become less rough once you head north. In this part of France you can find beautiful national parks with plenty of activity options. Don't forget the famous Alpe d'Huez, favourite amongst professional and amateur cyclists. You might know the Alpe d'Huez from the Tour de France. Regions in this part of France are the Drome, Hautes Alpes, Haute-Savoie, the Isère, the Jura, Vosges, and the Franche-Comté.
The regions in central France have each retained their own character and are less affected by tourism. In central France you can find famous wine regions like the Bourgogne and the Dordogne. The Dordogne is also known for its pre-historic caves and century old wall drawings. The vulcanic origin of France can best be seen in the Auvergne.
You see how diverse France is? No other country in the world can offer you a holiday quite like France!
