The M.S. Dixie II departs from historic Zephyr Cove, Nevada at 760 U.S. Hwy 50, Zephyr Cove, NV 89448 . Please check-in 30 minutes prior to departure time to receive boarding passes. Prepaid reservations may wait for boarding call at the end of the pier, unpaid reservations must go to the ticket booth prior to embark.
Shuttle Service & Parking
Complimentary shuttle transportation is offered from select local Lake Tahoe areas. You will have the opportunity to opt-in for this shuttle service during the online booking process. The service is first-come, first-served. There is a nominal transportation fee for groups of 20 or more. If space is not available, parking is available for a fee.

Welcome Aboard the M S Dixie II | Lake Tahoe
The M.S. Dixie II is the largest cruising vessel in South Lake Tahoe. Cruises run all throughout the day, and at sunset. Plus, you can even order cocktails and eat lunch and dinner on this historic boat.
The M.S. Dixie is ready for tours of beautiful Lake Tahoe all year long. The boat offers indoor and outdoor seating.
The Daytime Scenic Cruise leaves from Zephyr Cove Resort and lasts for about 2.5 hours. During this tour, the boat travels to Emerald Bay. Along the way, you’ll have incredible views of the surrounding mountains and forests. You’ll also see some popular sights of Emerald Bay like Vikingsholm Castle and Fannette Island.
This tour includes access to the bars on the boat, and lunch is available to order from their menu.
Tickets are $75 for adults, $45 for kids (ages 3-11), and free for those under 3.
The Sunset Dinner Cruise offers gorgeous views of Lake Tahoe under the color-changing sky. This 3-hour cruise also goes to Emerald Bay. A 3-course dinner is included, the bars are open, and there’s live music!
Tickets are $105 for adults, $50 for kids, and kids ages 3 and under are free.

When is best time to go? Morning cruise or afternoon cruise?
I enjoyed the morning. There is less people. I got around the boat pretty freely to different parts of the boat to take pictures. The crew told us it is packed in the afternoon.

WOW! Just wow. This was a spur of the moment idea. Wanted to kill some time and what better way to do that than taking a cruise on the lake on a beautiful day. The kids had a blast and thought the boat was super cool. There is plenty of seats inside or on the upper deck to take in all the gorgeous sights. This was during winter right after a storm so there was lots of snow on the mountain tops. About 30 minutes into the cruise we decided to head down stairs to check out their lunch menu. We ended up with fish and chips and the kids got A cheese burger and PB&J. The food was sooo good everything was cooked perfectly. Our waitress was super nice and the food didn't take long at all. They do have a gift shop on board if you want to buy a souvenir of your cruise. We ended up with a Dixie cruise magnet which was super cute Cruise lasted about 2 hrs which was perfect during the cruise there is a recording about the boat and some Tahoe history surrounding the lake. we will definitely be back. We want to try this during the summer Oh and if you have AAA you get a discount on your tickets to board which is awesome

My family dined here on a Sunday evening. It was $64 per person. There was live band on the second deck. The dinner is served on the first deck. For dinner, you can choose either steak, salmon, fried chicken or some vegetable pasta. Each entree comes with a salad, bread and dessert. I got the rib eye steak. It was just okay. It was drenched in brown gravy to mask the low quality meat. The salad was okay. The cheesecake is definitely a Costco type cake. After dinner, most people went up the third deck to see the nice view of Emerald Bay while some people stayed on the second deck for the live band. The band was quite good and the dance floor is full. The whole thing took 3 hours. They also charged us $10 for parking. You can take a shuttle if you are staying in one of the major hotels nearby. I would say it is a decent value.

Want to caution people to make certain you book directly with Mystic Sea and not through vacation made easy. Vacations Made Easy is a third party representative for some of these cruises and they are dishonest. They bait and switch getting you to come in and pick up a voucher and put you on a completely different Cruise. When you complain, they offer no compensation for the ticket you pay the higher price for and received a lesser service and then deny that it was their fault. I cannot fault the Miss Dixie directly because we never were able to take their tour. However I cannot reiterate or highly caution you enough to avoid at all cost Vacations Made Easy. Their website is Vacations Made Easy. Com. Steer clear!!!!
these guys literally rob your money. we booked the cruise with a complementary shuttle service. we waited at the designated pickup location 10 minutes ahead of time. the shuttle never showed up. when we called, we were told the shuttle was late due to traffic. 5 minutes later, still no shuttle. when we called a second time, they said it was our fault to have missed the shuttle (which never showed up) and they would not refund the money!
This business is terrible. We booked the cruise on line with shuttle service pick up from Hard Rock casino at 11:15. My husband and I waited outside the lobby since 11:05. The shuttle did not come. At 11:20 I started calling. At 11:25 finally I got someone answering the phone, and I was told shuttle is late due to traffic. When asked how the vehicle looks like, she said it is either a school bus or a bus with "Yosemite" or "Deneli" on it. Oh really? We absolutely did not see a bus like that. At 11:35 I called again, and after waiting for transfer, someone told us that we have to drive there and get on cruise at 12. It was 11:45. Knowing we can't make it, we asked for cancelation. The lady transfered me to her manager and he kept on insisting the bus came and we were late. And they have 48 hour cancelation policy and he cannot refund us. Not only service is poor, I felt I got robbed!!
Booked this scenic cruise for my mom's birthday as a surprise since I've done it before and it was so beautiful. We couldn't see anything. The smoke was so thick that most of the guests were crammed in the dining area to avoid the smoke. So disappointed. They honestly should have cancelled the cruise or turned the cruise around and refunded us.

Went on the dinner cruise to emerald bay with the extended family while they were in town. We got the tickets about a week in advance and the tables are first come first serve in the dining room and you can save seats for larger families that sit together. Other sits fill up in the tables that sit about 10 total. The cruise goes from 6 to 9, but the boat starts lining up and loading up at 5:15. The parking is 10 dollars and not the best, and the shuttle is worse although free and took the people in our party over and hour to go just a few miles down the road from the casinos. An uber would have been a much easier option. Once you get seated they take the drink orders, coffee, tea and soft drinks are including and more drinks are available like wine, beer, rum runners etc. For August 2018 the salad was a small greens salad with White balsamic dressing and drizzle balsamic. It has 2 slices of tomatoes and 1 slice of mozzarella. They have butter rolls and wheat and I think potato rolls. For the main corse you have 4 options. Honey drizzled fried chicken that's 1 small breast, 1 leg, 1 wing, and a thigh, that comes with broccolini and mash potatoes with a white gravy. The chicken had no real honey taste but the people in our party liked it. The second option is a ribeye steak that was about 10oz. Although people mentioned it was only about 1/2 thick and hard to call a true ribeye, but the cook was good and the pepper corn gravy wasn't anything special but a nice touch. The sides were the broccolini again and a loaded potato gratin which was more like a chunky mash potatoes with a nice crunch cheesy crust. The third option was a salmon with butter lemon that was about 5oz that came out medium with an interesting polenta with some chunks of sweet peppers and some herbed oiled veggie medley. I got this but wished I went the forth option. It was slightly over cooked. The did let me get ranch to dip it in lol I am terrible I know. The forth option was a red wine tomato sauce pasta with tons of veggies. This looked sooo good and had a ton of veggies on it, no one at our table ordered it so I didn't get to take a picture :(. The desert was a lovely slice of rich creamy cheese cake that was probably the best part of the meal. I was quite surprised how good it was even though there was no gram cracker crust but had a nice little drizzle of raspberry sauce. The cruise it's self was pretty cool, there were a lot of people yet the boat didn't seem to crowed. There was two decks that you could view the emerald bay from. They tell you some nifty facts about the lake and the widows tea house that is in the middle of the bay. I love this beach area and often enjoy swimming about a mile each way to the island and climbing up to the tea house. They have kayaks you can rent during the day if you want to go to it as well and a small museum that also belonged to the widow. The bay also goes down about 800ft. I don't know if these facts were mentioned in the cruise, I just know them from going to this part of the lake for 25 plus years. They also had a band and take photos at the beginning of the cruise that you can buy in a cute little frames. Over all it's a pretty cool little cruise if you've never seen much of the lake. I think it's a little pricey at 100 bucks a head (and there is free champagne when you get on) The staff was quick and speedy at Brining out the dishes and clearing they flip the tables pretty quick. There is also a small gift shop with Lake Tahoe nicknacks and clothing for the ms Dixie swag.
Booked dinner cruise about a month early, called the morning of to verify pick up location and time. They checked our name and verified our pick up location. After waiting 20 minutes for pick up the bus dropped of the 2:30 cruise and informed us that there was no 6pm cruise that day. After calling in we found out they canceled the 6pm two weeks before and didn't call to let us know. Disappointed and will not try to do this cruise...
If I could give this place zero stars, I would. We came from SoCal and my family and I were very excited to tour the lake. We booked a reservation for a tour and we got our electronic ticket and confirmation email for a 2:30pm tour. When we came to the window, the clerk said our names were no where to be found and that we didn't have a reservation. Her reason was that the "third party" that we booked our reservation with, Viator, never booked our reservation with MS Dixie. Question is, where was the communication between MS Dixie, Viator, and us? We called Viator to get our $320 refund. Viator told us that they made the reservation with MS Dixie that's why we got our electronic tickets, but MS Dixie cancelled our reservation last minute. We made the connection that MS Dixie canceled our tour to accommodate 3 buses of tourists! What's upsetting is the lack of communication. We wasted our day preparing for a lake tour that was never even gonna happen. On top of that, the clerk at MS Dixie lied and said that Viator never contacted them about our reservations, when in fact, MS Dixie was the one who cancelled led our reservations without notice. The clerk even said they overbooked so they couldn't accommodate us. MS Dixie isn't taking the extra precautions being that it is a pandemic. But things happen for a reason. Due to Covid, God didn't want us to be in a compact boat with tourists around the world. On to plan B for my family. But MS Dixie, where's the communication? You're definitely lacking professionalism and sacrificing your customers health by overbooking with 3 big buses full of tourists plus additional families all packed in one boat. What's your capacity during the pandemic? Don't book with MS Dixie, they make promises they can't keep. If you do, plan to call to make sure you still have a reservation before going.

What To Expect
Your Lake Tahoe cruise starts at Zephyr Cove, where you'll hop aboard the M.S. Dixie II. Set off toward Emerald Bay, listening to onboard narration about the formation of the bay, considered one of Lake Tahoe's most beautiful locations. Learn about its 'little rock island,' Fanette Island, the only isle on the lake, and hear about the history of Vikingsholm Castle, a stone mansion built right on the shore. You'll have plenty of photo opportunities of the mountains, forests and beautiful shoreline during the 2-hour cruise. Also on board, watch a video presentation 'Sunken Treasures of Lake Tahoe,' which depicts what lies beneath the lake's surface. Take a visual journey 500 feet (150 km) underneath the waters of Glenbrook Bay to explore the Steamer Tahoe, a boat that operated on the lake for 50 years before she was sunk. See underwater bluffs and canyons, travel through a forest of ancient petrified trees that caused scientists to reevaluate their theories of the lake's size and evolution, and roam the bottom of Emerald Bay for a look at sea mounds. If you are on the morning cruise during the summer months, you have the option for a buffet lunch, made up of deli meats, salad, soup, cheese, bread, chili, cookies, tea, soda and water. Beverages may also be purchased from the onboard bar (own expense). Your cruise ends when you return to Zephyr Cove.
