Simone biles’ husband, jonathan owens, called ‘mr. biles’ by nfl commentator after scoring touchdown for chicago bears.

Simone Biles’ husband, Jonathan Owens, was called “Mr. Biles” by an NFL commentator after he scored a touchdown during the Chicago Bears vs. Tennessee Titans game on Sunday.

“Mr. Biles getting in there,” the commentator said in a video posted to Instagram that showed the Bears’ safety running to the end zone.

“Well done by him,” the sports announcer added.

Several fans were amused by the commentator referring to Owens, 29, by his wife’s surname as one person commented, “Wait did they said [sic] mr biles 😂.”

“‘Mister Biles getting in there’ is crazy but that’s a super valid acceptable title lol good play Owens 👏, ” another added.

“Boy new name is Johnathan [sic] Biles,” a third quipped, while a fourth chimed in, “Calling him Mr. Biles on live tv is Diabolical 😂😂.”

Biles, 27, also celebrated her husband’s big play when she took to her Instagram Story, posting, “LFG!!! … TOUCHDOWN FOR HUBBY.”

The Bears won their first game of the 2023-2024 season against the Titans 17-24.

Owens made his debut for the Bears after spending the 2023 season with the Green Bay Packers.

Biles has shown her support for the NFL star’s new journey as she attended a preseason game last month.

The 11-time Olympian, however, received backlash from fans when she showed up to the game wearing a Packers jacket.

Biles and Owens have notably cheered each other on in their respective careers.

Biden was hellbent on leaving afghanistan – ignoring military advice, nato objections and afghan pleas: house report.

WASHINGTON — President Biden was so hellbent on getting out of Afghanistan that he rebuked any advice to the contrary , ignored the pleas of the Afghan government and disregarded objections from US allies.

That was the one of the main takeaways from the House Foreign Affairs Committee’s more than two-year investigation into America’s chaotic, deadly Afghanistan withdrawal , according to a blistering report released Sunday.

“During his decades-long tenure as a Delaware US senator, eight years as vice president of the United States and nearly four years as president, Mr. Biden has demonstrated distrust of America’s military experts and advisors and has prioritized politics and his personal legacy over America’s national security interests,” the roughly 350-page report asserted.

His administration consistently lied to and misled the American public to try to convince them to support his consequences-be-damned view that the US should swiftly end it’s 20-year war in Afghanistan, the review said.

Former President Donald Trump’s administration had previously created and entered into the Doha Agreement with the Afghan government and the Taliban to end the US war in Afghanistan.

But Biden forged ahead with little deference to the terms of the agreement — no matter the cost — though he would later blame the same document for forcing his hand, the report found.

The Doha Agreement, formed in 2020, held that the US would withdraw its troops from Afghanistan if the Taliban met certain obligations.

For example, the terrorist group was responsible for “cutting ties with al-Qaeda and other terrorist organizations, ceasing attacks on US and coalition troops, reducing violence against Afghan forces and starting negotiations with the Afghan government,” according to the report.

But Biden’s reckless, blind determination pushed aside the agreement’s critical details, the document said.

All for show

On Feb. 4, 2021, then-State Department spokesman Ned Price announced that the US would begin the review to assess the Taliban’s adherence to the Doha Agreement to evaluate whether the US should imminently withdraw from Afghanistan.

But “in his testimony before the committee, contrary to his public statement, Mr. Price asserted the Taliban’s adherence to the Doha Agreement was in fact ‘immaterial’ to the Biden-Harris administration’s decision to withdraw from Afghanistan,” the document found.

The administration’s “lies” and “misrepresentations” only continued, the report said.

“Missing from press releases was information related to the Taliban’s failure to adhere to the Doha Agreement, the ongoing presence of terrorism in Afghanistan, the capabilities of the Afghan government and military with and without U.S. support, and dissent from NATO allies on the US plan to withdraw,” according to the report.

“The Taliban were in breach of key elements of the Doha Agreement, [though] the Biden-Harris administration claimed to be assessing the Taliban’s compliance therewith,” the report said.

“In reality, the conditions were entirely irrelevant to them.”

Advice ignored

Biden made the decision to pull out entirely despite nearly every military official advising against it , the document said.

“Despite President Biden’s public assertions to the contrary, our investigation has revealed the secretary of defense, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs, the commander of US Central Command, the secretary of state, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, and the commander of NATO’s Resolute Support Mission and United States Forces-Afghanistan all advised against withdrawing all US troops from the country — both during and after the interagency review,” the report said.

The Harris-Biden administration also ignored the international community’s concerns, barreling past the objections of other NATO nations that deployed to Afghanistan in support of the US.

Even key figures in Afghanistan had pleaded against a total US withdrawal, arguing the landlocked nation simply needed more time to prepare.

“General Haibatullah Alizai — former Afghan Army general — informed the committee majority staff that he pleaded for more time from American commanders on the ground, saying, ‘Just tell your leadership to stay with us for two more years. … We’re going to take the initiative … it’s in our favor and we can defeat the Taliban,’ ” the report recounted.

Failure to plan

Across the board, the report painted a picture of an administration that was heavily fixated on the political optics of the withdrawal while lacking the foresight to plan ahead, even for predictable scenarios.

In one striking passage, the report underscored that Biden didn’t officially order a noncombatant evacuation operation — the largest the US had ever pursued in history — until Aug. 16, 2021, a day after Kabul fell to the Taliban and just two weeks before the last US troops left the city.

“The failure to prepare for a NEO had ramifications not only for Americans and allies in Afghanistan, but US personnel on the ground forced to evacuate desperate civilians in a hostile environment,” the report said. “Those concerns were sidelined by the Biden-Harris administration in favor of optics.

“Rather than concede their negligence, US service members and foreign service officers were directed to prioritize evacuating as many people as possible, no matter the threat posed to their lives.”

Implications for Kamala

Vice President Kamala Harris was sparingly mentioned in the report, which was one factor that former committee senior investigator Jerry Dunleavy cited in his protest resignation from the probe.

“Harris was the last person in the room when President Biden made the decision to withdraw all U.S. forces from Afghanistan; a fact she boasted shortly after President Biden issued his go-to-zero order,” the report stressed, pointing to previous public reporting.

She was one of 15 administration officials that the report recommended Congress pass a resolution condemning over the debacle.

The report’s release comes just two days before Harris’ televised debate against Trump in Philadelphia. Critics such as Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg have accused the panel of timing the report’s release for political purposes.

But the panel’s chairman, Michael McCaul (R-Texas), fired back to CBS’ “Face the Nation” on Sunday, “It’s taken me two years to get to this point because of the obstruction — I’ve had to serve subpoena after subpoena.’’

McCaul did fault Trump for one key aspect of the withdrawal — the omission of the Afghan government from negotiations over the Doha Agreement, which occurred under his watch.

Despite the House Foreign Affairs Committee’s decision to release its sprawling report on the Afghanistan withdrawal, its work on the matter is far from over.

“We have a lot of unanswered questions regarding the [Department of Defense] … [about] what happened on the ground,” McCaul said.

The panel, which conducted 18 transcribed interviews, poured through over 20,000 pages worth of documents and held seven public hearings to produce the scathing report, is also eyeing reforms for the National Security Council and State Department.

“Everything we have seen and heard of Chairman McCaul’s latest partisan report shows that it is based on cherry-picked facts, inaccurate characterizations, and pre-existing biases that have plagued this investigation from the start,” said Sharon Yang, a rep for oversight and investigations at the White House.

• In this agreement the following expressions shall bear the following meanings. -“The Company”: means mr park and travel -“The Customer”: means any individual person, a firm, partnership, corporation, company trust, voluntary association or club. -“The Vehicle”: means the vehicle which is received into storage and shall include any mechanical device on wheels, its equipment and/or accessories. -All and any business accepted by the Company and its employees, servants, representatives and/or agents is subject to conditions hereinafter set out and each and every condition hereinafter set out shall be deemed to be a condition of any agreement between the Company and the Customer. -The Company and its employees, servants, representatives and/or agents shall not be held liable to any Customer including without elimination the owner of the Vehicle in contact or in delict, for any loss or damages to the Vehicle and/or its contents (including without limitation, direct, indirect extrinsic, special, general or consequential damages) howsoever arising in respect of any negligent act or omission by the Company. -The Company shall not be held liable for any loss or damage whatsoever caused by natural disasters such as floods, hail, wind storms, electric storms and such like. -The Company shall not be held liable for any loss, theft or damage to any loose items left in the Vehicle whilst in the possession of the Company. -The Customer acknowledges that the Company and its employees, servants, representatives and/or agents shall have the right to drive the Vehicle on public roads to and from its place of storage. -The Customer warrants the Vehicle is fully insured, licensed and roadworthy and indemnifies the Company and its employees, servants, representatives and/or agents against any fines levied due to the condition of the vehicle or any loss or consequential loss occasioned as a result of the vehicle’s condition. -The Customer acknowledges that each Vehicle taken into storage is subject to a lien for all charges due or accruing to the Company and the Company reserves the right to refuse to release the Vehicle until such charges are fully paid. -No indulgence granted by the Company to the Customer shall constitute a waiver of any of the Company’s rights. -The Customer acknowledges that he accepts these terms and conditions by handing the keys of the Vehicle to the Company.

U.S.-Russia Engagement Deepens as C.I.A. Head Travels to Moscow

It was at least the fourth trip to Moscow since July by a senior American official as the two sides seek to stabilize a volatile relationship.

MOSCOW — William J. Burns, the C.I.A. director, met with a top adviser to President Vladimir V. Putin in Moscow on Tuesday, leading a delegation of American officials on a two-day visit to the Russian capital that served as the latest evidence of heightened engagement between two global adversaries .

Mr. Burns was traveling at President Biden’s request, the American Embassy in Moscow said in a statement. The surprise visit was something of a merger of Mr. Burns’s current role as intelligence chief and his past jobs as a senior American diplomat and state department official. Karen Donfried, the assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian Affairs, joined Mr. Burns in his meeting with the adviser to Mr. Putin, Nikolai Patrushev.

“They are meeting with members of the Russian government to discuss a range of issues in the bilateral relationship,” an embassy spokesman said of the American delegation’s visit, scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday.

It was at least the fourth trip to Moscow since July by a senior American official, a sharp uptick in contact that has come in the wake of the summit meeting between Mr. Biden and Mr. Putin in Geneva in June. Officials on both sides say the talks have so far yielded no breakthroughs and are aimed primarily at stabilizing the relationship between two nuclear-armed adversaries increasingly competing in cyberspace as well as geopolitics.

The talks include a serious conversation on arms control and another on cybersecurity. The United States, for example, has turned over the names and other details of a few hackers actively launching attacks on America from Russia, and is waiting to see if the information results in arrests, The New York Times has reported .

The two sides are also discussing other matters of mutual interest, including North Korea, Afghanistan and climate policy.

American officials have also said that Moscow has been helpful in ongoing talks with Iran about its nuclear program. Mr. Burns was one of the diplomats who began the back channel talks with Tehran that ultimately led to the international agreement in 2015 to limit its nuclear program. Former President Donald J. Trump withdrew the United States from the deal in 2018.

“While the number of issues that we have reached agreement on is not great, we are on the right path,” Mr. Putin said last month, praising the White House as “interested in building ties.”

Mr. Burns’s visit — and the decision to immediately disclose it — underlined the efforts by both sides to telegraph that they were working to manage a volatile relationship.

Mr. Biden has argued that even as the United States and Russia compete on the world stage they should be able to cooperate “where it’s in our mutual interests.” But his stance has opened him up to criticism that he is too willing to engage with a country that is undermining American interests globally and repressing dissent at home.

After landing on Tuesday, Mr. Burns sat down with Mr. Patrushev, who is the secretary of the Kremlin’s Security Council and is widely seen as the most powerful figure among the intelligence officials in Mr. Putin’s inner circle. In a brief video of the start of the meeting posted online by Russian media, Mr. Patrushev tells Mr. Burns, seated across from him at a conference table: “I am glad to greet you in Moscow.”

The C.I.A. declined to comment.

Russian officials have publicly floated the possibility of a second meeting between Mr. Putin and Mr. Biden before the end of the year, although the White House has not confirmed that another summit is under consideration. American officials would likely want to see some further progress on the issues discussed in Geneva before agreeing to another meeting.

Asked on Tuesday about the possibility of another Putin-Biden meeting, the Kremlin’s spokesman, Dmitri S. Peskov, said that there was “a mutual interest in holding such contacts.”

“The timetable will be determined,” Mr. Peskov said.

The White House has used Mr. Burns as something of a roving diplomat, sending him, for example, to Afghanistan to talk with Taliban leaders during the evacuation of the Kabul airport in August. He also met with senior Israeli leaders in Israel ahead of Prime Minister Naftali Bennett’s visit to Washington.

A former U.S. ambassador to Moscow who has twice been stationed as a diplomat in Russia, he is one of the Biden Administration’s senior officials most experienced in Russian affairs.

The range of intelligence issues between the United States and Russia includes Moscow’s election interference, pushing of disinformation globally, and ransomware attacks by Russian criminal groups.

It is not clear if Mr. Burns was going to raise the issue of the anomalous health incidents known as “Havana Syndrome,’’ a growing number of episodes where C.I.A. officers and other officials have suffered traumatic brain injuries after experiencing strange pressure, heat or sounds.

Some American officials say privately that they believe Russia is responsible for those health incidents.

However, C.I.A. analysts and other American intelligence agencies have not yet drawn any formal conclusions about what has caused them. Russia has dismissed speculation that it could be responsible as “unhealthy fantasies.”
