The M/S  Mojito Nile Cruise launched 2005. This five-star Nile Cruise ship offers 69 junior suites plus 01 presidential suite. All suites are on upper decks except 6 on lower deck. The Mojito Nile Cruise sails from  Luxor  and  Aswan  or vice versa, a distance of 220 kilometers with an overnight stay in Esna/Edfu and either Luxor or Aswan.

For centuries, Egyptians have been cruising down the Nile. This enormous river has been essential to the Egyptian people’s way of life both during and after the reign of ancient Egypt . With a variety of amenities and services, you can now cruise the Nile in true Egyptian style aboard one of our suggested Nile Cruise ships.

Day 01: Friday (Lunch & Dinner)

Morning time, you will be met by our local representative in Aswan, who will transfer you by private Air-conditioned vehicle to your  Nile Cruise  boat. We will check-in our boat within few minutes. After that, you will join our professional tour guide to visit the  Aswan High Dam , constructed by the former president, Gamal Abdel Nasser in 1960 to store the water of the Nile, and then generate electricity. We will then drive to shores of the River Nile and take a motor boat to reach the Agilika Island to visit  Temple of Philae , constructed in the 3rd century BC in the Greco Roman period. Our last visit of this marvelous day tour in Aswan will be to the  Unfinished Obelisk , which was found in the granite quarry in the Southern part of Aswan. After the tour, we will get back to our  Nile Cruise  boat for overnight.

Day 02: Saturday (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Energizing breakfast on the cruise. Our Nile Cruise boat will be landed at the location of the city of Kom Ombo, where we will visit  Temple of Sobek & Haroeris , established in the Ptolemaic period, completed in the Roman era, and was dedicated to two gods, the local crocodile, Sobek and the famous eagle god, Haroeris. After that, we will get back to our boat for rest and refresh. Later on, we will visit  Temple of Horus in Edfu , the finest preserved ancient Egyptian temple in the land of the Nile. We will then get back to our boat for overnight.

Day 03: Sunday (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Free morning on your own or (optional) we can offer a  Hot-air Balloon over the West Bank of Luxor . Enjoy your delicious breakfast before exploring the city of the dead where we can visit  Valley of the Kings , the richest and most fascinating ancient tombs in Egypt. This was the burial site of the kings from the New Kingdom. The next visit of the day will be to the  Temple of Deir El Bahari , constructed during the reign of the 18th dynasty by Queen Hatshepsut, one of the greatest rulers of Egypt. Our last visit will be to the  Colossi of Memnon ; these two huge statues are the only remaining items of the great funerary temple of Amenhotep III constructed in 1350 BC and became a landmark of Luxor afterwards. After that, we will get back to our boat for overnight.

Day 04: Monday (Breakfast)

Check out after breakfast. Later on, we will move to explore the east bank of Luxor including two marvelous temple complexes. Our first visit of the day will be to the  Karnak Temples Complex , constructed over a period of more than one thousand years, almost all the impressive items of the Karnak we see today date back to the new kingdom specially the huge amazing columns of the hypostyle hall which are constructed by Ramses II, the greatest builder of ancient Egypt. We will then visit  Luxor Temple , another startling temple that was established around the 14th century BC and the construction continued for many years afterwards by Ramses II, Queen Hatshepsut, and many other Pharaohs. After the tour, we will transfer you to your location in Luxor.

Energizing breakfast will be served on board. After that, we will visit  Valley of the Kings , the richest and most fascinating ancient tombs in Egypt. This was the burial site of the kings from the New Kingdom. Our next visit of the day will be to  Temple of Deir El Bahari , constructed during the reign of the 18th dynasty by Queen Hatshepsut. On our return way to the cruise, we will visit the  Colossi of Memnon , the only remaining items of the great funerary temple of king Amenhotep III. Finally, we will transfer you to your Nile Cruise.

Day 03: Wednesday (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Energizing breakfast will be served on board before our full day tour. Our  Nile Cruise  ship will land at the location of the city of Edfu, where we will visit the  Temple of Horus , constructed by the Ptolemies in the 3rd century BC for the worship of the god Horus, the avenger of his father. After this marvelous visit, we will get back to our Nile Cruiser for lunch, rest and refresh. We will then proceed to visit the  Temple of Kom Ombo , established in the Ptolemaic period and completed in the Roman Era. Finally, you will be transferred back to your Nile cruise ship for rest and refresh. Evening time, Egyptian folklore show will be operated by the staff.

Day 04: Thursday (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Breakfast meal will be served on board. After that, you will prepare yourself to join your expert tour guide to explore the wonderful city of Aswan. Our first visit of the day will be to the  High Dam , which was constructed by the former president, Gamal Abdel Nasser to store the water, and then generate a large volume of the electricity. Evening time is free at leisure on your own to relax on board or we can offer an (optional) tour to attend the  Sound & Light Show at Philae Temple , where you can learn more about the temple and about the kings who left their objects there. Finally, we will get back to our Nile Cruise for overnight.

Day 05: Friday (Breakfast)

Check out after breakfast. “Depends on the schedule of your flight”, you’ll be met by our local representative in Aswan, who will transfer you by private Air-conditioned vehicle to Aswan Airport in order to catch your flight to your next destination, where our services will be ended.

Morning time, you will be met by our local representative in Luxor, who will transfer you by private Air-conditioned vehicle to your  Nile Cruise . After lunch, you will join our tour guide to visit  Temple of Karnak , constructed over a period of more than one thousand years. We will then visit  Luxor Temple , which was established around the 14th century BC and the construction continued for many years afterwards by Ramses II, Queen Hatshepsut, and others kings. After the tour, you will be transferred to your  Nile Cruise  for rest and refresh. Evening time is free at leisure on your own to relax on board or we can offer an (optional) tour to attend the  Sound & Light Show at Karnak Temple , one of the remarkable shows in Egypt. It is a free morning in Luxor. However, we can offer many activities in the morning like exploring the West bank of Luxor from the SKY! Imaging flying over the great city of Luxor, whereas the royal necropolis and the wonderful collection of our funerary temples were erected. Evening time is free at leisure on your own on board to relax on board while cruising the Nile towards the city of Edfu. Dinner meal will be served on board your Nile Cruise, and then the staff will operate a folkloric show. Overnight onboard.

Energizing breakfast meal will be served on board before the tour of today. Our Nile Cruise ship will land at the location of the  Temple of Kom Ombo , established in the Ptolemaic period and completed in the Roman era, the temple is dedicated to two gods, the local crocodile, Sobek and the famous eagle god, Haroeris. After your amazing visit, you will get back to the ship, so we can enjoy the delicious lunch on board while sailing towards Aswan. Afternoon time, is free at leisure to use the cruise facilities (available, but not included in the package price) or to relax on board enjoying the amazing view of the immortal River Nile! Dinner meal will be served on board. Evening time, a music performance will be operated by the staff. Overnight onboard.

Afternoon, we will transfer you to enjoy such a unique tour by sailing on the Nile by Felucca (Sailing Boat) around the nice islands of Aswan,  Agha Khan Mausoleum  and the  Kitchener Island . It was constructed by the Ptolemies in the 3rd century BC for the worship of the god Horus. After that, you will get back to the ship, so we can enjoy the lunch on board while sailing to the city of Luxor. Evening time is free at leisure on board so you can enjoy the sailing process to Luxor. Overnight onboard.

We started giving M/S Mojito Nile Cruises in 2005. This Nile cruise ship has 68 junior suites and one presidential suite, both of which are five star rooms. In the basement, there are only six suites. The Mojito Nile Cruise starts in Luxor and ends in Aswan or vice versa. It is 7 days long and has a total length of 220 kilometers. We’ll stop a few times as we cruise down the Nile to see some of Egypt’s most famous sites, such as the High Dam, Philae Temple, and the unfinished Obelisk of Aswan. During your stay in Luxor, you will visit the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari, the Colossi of Memnon, the Karnak Temple Complex, and the Luxor Temple.

Usually, the check-in time is 11:00 in the morning, before lunch. So, those who arrive early in the morning can start their tours directly after arriving from the airport or train station before it gets too hot.

The check-out time is 8:00 in the morning. If the return flight or train is in the afternoon, it is still possible to use the cruise facilities, but not the cabin or the restaurant, and you can also leave your luggage and do a few more laps.

Recommended clothing

During the day, it is preferable to wear light clothing due to the hot summer weather. It is advisable to wear opaque, not tight, but soft and comfortable clothing. Beach costumes are allowed on the Nile cruise. You can have breakfast and lunch in the same clothing, but it is recommended that you dress elegantly for dinner.

You might actually feel far too hot in jeans if you are travelling in late June, so you'd possibly feel more comfortable wearing chino type or lightweight trousers for dinner at night on the boat. I'm not sure about the policy that boats have re wearing jeans, but I don't think they're banned.

Bikinis on board the boat at the pool is fine, but would cover up a bit when going back inside the boat from the pool.

We are booking a trip to eqypt in October and have received good quotes from the roadtoegypt tour company aboard the M/S Mojito .

Does any one know this tour company or been on this boat?? Are they reliable and is it really 5 star??

It appears that you sailed on the MS Mojito last year. Can you tell me what you thought of it? I am considering booking a group of 10 on it for next Feb and would so appreciate hearing your feedback. Was it really 5 star?

The M/S Mojito is a luxurious ship. She's rated as a 5-star deluxe. 2 of my friends sailed on that ship couple of months ago and they were extremely impressed by the service. They're still talking about their exciting experience!

My sister and her kids were aboard the mojito last year and they had lots of fun, the staff was very friendly and boat was fabulous!!

I believe that both Ransom and I were very satisfied, and we were able to see everything that we had hoped for our first trip to Egypt. The accommodations including the hotels, and the cruise boat were very clean, and professional. I felt that a few of the representatives from the Sakkara travel company really went above and beyond our expectations, namely our Cairo Representative names "Ashrif" as well as our tour guides "Maha" and Kahleed" in Cairo, and on the cruise . We could have asked for nothing more for our first trip abroad.

Have a nice tour

I have to second this post.

To be frank, I was initially very distrusting of all the Egyptian tour guides initially, who were so eager to sell me a trip. It's just hard to trust someone with whom you have exchanged only a few email.

Ahmed came as a recommendation from my wife's colleague, and so I placed our life and schedule in his hands and it worked out great.

Our drivers and guides were from Sakkara (a local egyption tour agency) once in Egypt and they were great. Our driver Isam, and our guide Ahmed were both fantastic.

Lessons learned:

1) Don't book any hotels yourself, have the RoadtoEgypt book them for you, you will get a better deal.

2) A guide and driver in Cairo was an additional $50 a day, TOTALLY worth it. Later in the trip, we got the courage to take a taxi across town... that's really an experience for more adventurous travelers.

3) All the Nile cruise lines claim to be 5 stars, but here's the catch: There is 5 start deluxe, 5 star luxury, and one other level... so "5 stars" doesn't really mean anything

4) see if you can get a room on the nile cruise with windows that open

5) if you can splurge, stay a night at the Old Winter Palace in Luxor! That was a great experience.

6) I felt safe the whole time, Egyptians were very friendly, very happy to meet an american (this was just after Obama was elected, and they were so excited)

7) the biggest adjustment you will need to go through is to get comfortable with pushy merchants. :)

8) I would spend more time outside Cairo, since it can be a bit frenetic. The smaller towns were much more approachable.

9) book the trip 2-3 months in advance at least. I was finalizing details a month before, and that's not good :)

The trip was adventurous, and awe inspiring, exciting, educational... Great country!

We went to Cairo , Alexandria , Abu Simbel, Asswan, Nile Cruise , Luxor , Sharm el Sheikh in Egypt and Petra, Dead Sea and Jerash in Jordan.

Everything went without a hitch. We had a private tour with drivers/escorts for all transfers, and qualified, English-speaking Egyptologists in all key locations. All were top rate and we were very satisfied.

While on our vacation the gas line to our furnace leaked in our home and a friend had to track us down on our Nile cruise through Ahmed at Road to Egypt. We weren't in our room or with our guide (we were celebrating my 50th birthday having a drink in the ship's bar). Ahmend found us and relayed the information and wouldn't even accept payment for the long distance charges. He said is was an honour to serve us.

What more can I say? We had a very full itinerary with several transfers and locations to visit and had a fabulous trip and service from Road to Egypt. I give them and their partners in Egypt my full endorsement!
