Good news for Delhi Metro commuters! Now enjoy hassle-free travelling across the city’s rapid transit network. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has launched DMRC TRAVEL, a dedicated mobile app for generating convenient and hassle-free mobile QR tickets for travelling across its network.

How to purchase a ticket from the DMRC TRAVEL app?

With this new mobile App , the commuters will be able to purchase the tickets directly from their smartphones. For this, one needs to have a ‘DMRC TRAVEL ’ app on the mobile phone. The move will eliminate the need to purchase tickets through counters or vending machines. This will also save precious time standing in queue.

Payment options in DMRC TRAVEL app

The DMRC TRAVEL app supports a variety of payment options such as UPI, Credit card, Debit card, and wallets. The passengers can select the preferred payment option and easily complete the transaction within the app itself.

Delhi Metro launches ‘DMRC TRAVEL’ app to buy mobile QR tickets

With this new mobile App, passengers can now purchase tickets directly from their smartphones, eliminating the need to go to ticket counters/vending machines or stand in queues.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Friday launched a dedicated mobile app for its passengers with the name ‘DMRC TRAVEL’ for generating convenient and hassle-free mobile QR tickets for travelling across its network.

The app was formally launched today by Dr Vikas Kumar, Managing Director, DMRC from the headquarters at Metro Bhawan in the presence of senior officials.

The passengers can now experience a quick and efficient ticketing process, saving valuable time during their commute.

The app supports a variety of payment methods, including UPI, credit/debit cards, and wallets, ensuring flexibility and convenience for users. Passengers can choose their preferred payment option and easily complete the transaction within the app itself.

In addition, this app also has other passenger-centric features like a travel planner, fare calculator, station information, and smart card recharge. The app also shows route information from origin to destination including interchange stations. One can view transaction history, and rebook tickets for the same origin-destination and return journey.

The ‘DMRC TRAVEL’ App will be available for download on the android platform which will be followed by the IOS platform soon, allowing a wide range of users to experience the convenience of mobile QR ticketing.

Passengers are encouraged to download the app from their respective app stores and explore the features and benefits it offers.

In order to provide such a user-friendly, cashless and fast mode of ticketing, DMRC carried out a mammoth technically challenging exercise of upgrading its AFC Gates, which were already in passenger services, on all its corridors without shutting down these gates even for a single day in record time.

The entire exercise was taken up mostly during the limited time available in the night once the passenger services were over, in a manner that once the services resumed the next day, all the gates were again kept functional for passengers. DMRC has already upgraded over 60 per cent of its AFC gates with QR code scanners and the remaining are also targeted to be covered within the next 1-2 months.

With the introduction of the ‘DMRC TRAVEL’ App, DMRC aims to enhance the overall commuting experience of passengers by providing a modern and user-friendly ticketing solution. This initiative aligns with DMRC’s commitment to leveraging technology for the comfortable commute of its valued passengers.

After the successful payment, the app will generate a mobile QR ticket. Present this QR ticket at the AFC (Automatic Fare Collection) gate for entry and exit during your journey.

The app also provides an option to view the purchased tickets in the “view transaction” menu, allowing you to access and manage your tickets as needed.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), after months of testing and trials, recently launched a mobile app to make it easier for the metro commuters in Delhi National Capital Region (NCR) to buy tickets and tokens for their journey. The organisation recently introduced an app dubbed as the ‘DMRC Travel’ app that will enable commuters to generate mobile QR tickets for travelling across its network easily. With its new DMRC Travel mobile app , passengers commuting via Delhi Metro can purchase tickets directly from their smartphones, which in turn would eliminate the need to go to ticket counters or vending machines or stand in queues at the metro stations. DMRC Travel app availability

As far as availability is concerned, the DMRC Travel mobile app is available for download for Android users on the Google Play Store. DMRC says that the app will be available for iOS users via the App Store users soon.

How to purchase mobile QR ticket through DMRC Travel app

Here is a step-by-step guide of how you can purchase a Delhi Metro ticket using the new DMRC Travel app”

Step 1: Search the DMRC Travel app on Google Play and the download and install app on your smartphone.

Step 2: Next, open the app and create an account using your Gmail or Facebook credentials.

Step 3: Log in to the app and select Book Ticket option from the menu bar.

Step 4: Now enter source and destination stations and click on the Book Ticket option. Once you do so, it will show Price, number of stops and journey time for the selected source and destination stations.

Step 5: Next, select the Number of Tickets and then tap the Proceed to Booking option.

Step 6: After that, confirm your purchase details including, which includes source and destination stations, number of tickets, and the total amount.

Once the payment is successful, the app will generate a mobile QR ticket, which the commuters can present at the Automatic Fare Collection gate for entry and exit during their journey.

Travel chaos for thousands of people after train derails on major UK route

‘Do not travel’ – this is what people are being told after a train derailed on a major route.

Chaos has engulfed multiple services between  England  and Scotland today after cargo wagons came off the rails in  Cumbria .

The incident happened yesterday on the West Coast Main Line, between Carlisle and Oxenholme Lake District.

Nobody was injured during the derailment, but more than 15 hours later, there are still major delays for people.

Some lines are blocked and a very limited train service is running on the line that remains open.

Multiple trains have since been cancelled and delayed, and rail companies have waned of knock-on effects for the rest of the day.

A statement from Avanti West Coast said: ‘Do not travel north of Preston. Services between between Oxenholme Lake District and Penrith have been cancelled due to a freight train derailment blocking the line.

‘Please do not attempt to travel with us between Preston and Scotland today.’

Replying to frantic messaged from stranded passengers, the company added: ‘We are advising customers not to travel today due to the severe disruption.

‘We have no estimated time as to when this will end.’

Meanwhile, TransPennine Express said disruption was expected until at least 2pm.

Ticket holders can delay journeys until tomorrow or travel with other operators.

It remains unclear what caused the freight train to derail.
