Madonna no Brasil: relembre shows da cantora no país

Cantora conhecida como a rainha do pop já trouxe três turnês ao Brasil: "The Girlie Show", "Sticky & Sweet Tour" e "The MDNA Tour"

A CNN te explica abaixo:

“The Girlie Show” — 1993

“Sticky & Sweet Tour” — 2008

Madonna- Brasil- Sao Paulo- 18.12.2008- Like a Prayer

Obrigado. Eu amo o Rio”, disse Madonna. “Dane-se a chuva”, afirmou antes de começar a cantar “Ray of Light”.

“The MDNA Tour” — 2012

Madonna – Intro + Good Girl Gone Wild (MDNA Tour Rio de Janeiro) 02/12/2012 – 1080p

“Give All Your Lovin” e “Girl Gone Wild” são os principais hits do disco.

Madonna Will End ‘Celebration Tour’ With Massive Free Show in Brazil

By Tomás Mier

Madonna will play for the biggest crowd of her career in May.

On Monday, the pop legend announced that she’ll conclude her Celebration Tour with a free show at Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on May 4.

The performance marks her first time performing in Brazil since 2012, and is set to be “a thank you to her fans for celebrating more than four decades of her music over the course of the epic global run of the tour,” according to a press release.

The show will take place in front of the Belmond Copacabana Palace Hotel, with Brazil’s TV Globo broadcasting the concert live. Fans will not need to acquire tickets.

Copacabana Beach has been the site of several major concerts over the years: Rod Stewart brought out more than 4 million attendees to his show there in 1994; Lenny Kravitz performed for 300,000 in 2005; and the Rolling Stones reportedly drew 1.5 million fans in 2006.

“Her voice is still as strong as ever, and she won’t be able to make out with dozens of dancers onstage forever, so now is the perfect time for her celebration,” read a Rolling Stone review of her show in New York.

The tour has had several major guests along the way: In Los Angeles, Kylie Minogue and Cardi B joined her on stage on separate occasions. Madonna performs numerous hits such as “Like a Prayer,” “Hung Up,” “Vogue,” and “Like a Virgin” during the Celebration Tour.

Madonna Is Only Woman to Achieve This Boxscore Feat as The Celebration Tour Wraps

The career-spanning trek swept through sold-out arenas in Europe and North America, becoming her sixth tour to gross $100 million or more.

Madonna

Madonna played the final shows of The Celebration Tour, closing her six-month trek with $225.4 million and 1.1 million tickets sold over 80 shows, according to figures reported to Billboard Boxscore .

The Celebration Tour is Madonna’s sixth trek to gross more than $100 million. The only other acts to achieve this are the Eagles , The Rolling Stones , Bruce Springsteen and U2 , making her the sole woman in this elite group.

Madonna Wraps Celebration Tour With Record-Setting Free Concert in Rio de Janeiro

Trending on billboard.

By year’s end, Madonna played three shows in Brooklyn and two in Washington, D.C., before resuming the North American leg with 42 more shows from January through April. In the U.S. and Canada, she earned $133.1 million and sold 616,000 tickets, sending the tour’s total figures beyond $200 million and 1 million tickets.

Finally, Madonna went to Latin America for the first time since 2016, as part of the Rebel Heart Tour. Five shows at Mexico City’s Palacio de los Deportes grossed $14.8 million and sold 82,400 tickets.

In all, The Celebration Tour’s $225 million finish marks Madonna’s highest-grossing tour in over a decade. While in Europe, it surpassed her theater experiment on the Madame X Tour ($51.5 million in 2019-20). And during her North American leg, she partied past the Rebel Heart Tour’s $169.8 million from 2015-16.

Madonna’s recent high dates back to 2012’s MDNA Tour, which grossed $305.2 million and sold 2.2 million tickets. That trek played many of the same American arenas as The Celebration Tour, but took her to Europe’s outsized outdoor stadiums, plus a lengthier stadium run throughout Latin America. Her biggest tour ever was the one before that, earning $407.7 million from 3.5 million tickets on the Sticky & Sweet Tour (2008-09).

That average attendance is missing an obvious asterisk. After playing her final show in Mexico City, Madonna staged a free concert at Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, marking her first stop in the city since a Dec. 2, 2012, performance on the MDNA Tour. The show’s gargantuan success does not factor into her official Boxscore results because it was a free event, but it’s plenty worth noting that she drew 1.6 million people – roughly 40% more than the combined attendance of her entire tour. According to concert promoter Live Nation, it’s the largest audience ever for a stand-alone concert by any artist in history.

The Celebration Tour pushes Madonna’s reported career total to $1.6 billion and – without accounting for the Brazil show – 12.8 million tickets.

Madonna set to end ‘Celebration’ world tour with huge free gig for millions in Brazil – does this mean no Glastonbury?

The tour has seen her play countless shows across the UK, Europe and North America

Madonna performs during The Celebration Tour at The O2 Arena on October 15, 2023 in London, England.

Madonna is set to end her ongoing ‘Celebration’ world tour by performing a huge free gig in Brazil – possibly suggesting that an appearance at Glastonbury is off the table.

News of the final ‘Celebration’ live show was shared by various outlets including IQ , who reported that the queen of pop would be wrapping up the tour with a free concert at Copacabana Beach later this year.

“It’s time to get ready! The Queen of Pop arrives in Rio de Janeiro for a free and historic show at Copacabana Beach,” declared Rio-based newspaper O Globo . “Madonna closes out The Celebration Tour here in Wonder City, marking her 40-year career with a show that promises to be her biggest yet.”

Taking place on May 4, the show is likely to see millions of people show up, and promises to close out her greatest hits tour, which was described by her musical director Stuart Price as “a documentary through her vast career” (via The Pink News ).

It has also been dubbed by fans as “the ultimate beach party”, and marks the first time Madonna will be performing in Brazil since 2012, when she brought her ‘MDNA’ tour to the country for three shows.

Originally, the run of shows was expected to close out in Mexico City towards the end of April, with four slots booked for the Palacio De Los Deportes venue. Ahead of that, however, she is set to perform more shows across the United States , including slots in Phoenix, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Tampa, Miami and Austin. While fans across Brazil are pleased to hear that the pop veteran will be wrapping up her tour at Copacabana Beach, others speculate that the announcement has made it less likely that Madonna will appear at this year’s edition of Glastonbury.

Set to take place at Worthy Farm between June 26 and June 30, Madonna was one of the most highly anticipated names for this year , with countless rumours circulating that she would be performing at the Legend’s slot at the festival.

The rumours also came to a head in November, when co-organiser Emily Eavis posted a photo on Instagram from one of the singer’s shows at The O2 with the caption: “She’s back! Incredible.” The update also came after Eavis said she had planned for a female headliner in the Legend’s slot this year.

Other acts rumoured for Glastonbury 2024 include The 1975 , SZA ,  Beyoncé , Harry Styles , Dua Lipa and Rihanna , and some think that the Legend’s slot may be filled by Shania Twain .

At time of writing, no acts have been confirmed for this year’s instalment, but you can check out the most rumoured artists here .

Madonna to perform free ‘historic’ Copacabana beach concert in Brazil

P op superstar Madonna will hold a concert on the sandy shores of Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro, the companies behind the event confirmed on Friday.

"Brazil, I'm coming soon," the Material Girl  and Vogue  singer said in a video released earlier this week by local lender Itau Unibanco.

More details about Madonna's concert will come out in a press conference on Monday, according to an invitation sent to journalists on Friday by Itau and Dutch beermaker Heineken, which has a large presence in Brazil.

Rio de Janeiro’s official tourism office, Visit Rio, also told Brazilians to “get ready” for “a free and historic” show with Madonna at Copacabana Beach, adding the singer has chosen the city to wrap her international Celebration Tour.

The show, which is being paid for by the Brazilian bank Itaú, is said to be a celebration of Madonna’s 40-year career and the bank’s 100th anniversary.

Madonna last performed in Brazil in 2012, bringing her ninth concert tour, MDNA, to three different cities in the country.

Last year, after the multi-Grammy-winning artist announced she would go on a world tour to celebrate her 40-year career, fans in South America couldn’t hide their disappointment when it was announced the 80-stop tour would only include cities in North America and Europe.

But according to Brazilian media, that likely changed after the “Express Yourself” singer signed a multi-million-dollar contract to create and star in a television ad for Itaú. Directed by Madonna’s longtime collaborator Jonas Åkerlund, who directed the singer’s Grammy-winning video “Ray of Light” in 1989, the 60-second film centres around the bank’s “Made of Future” anniversary theme and earned the 65-year-old mother of six a reported $12.5 million.

The local hotel industry cheered the reports of Madonna's Copacabana concert, which could easily give Madonna her largest crowd ever and beat her previous record — when 130,000 fans saw her second music tour, Who’s That Girl , in Paris in 1987.

"New Year's Eve has come early," Rio hotel union head Alfredo Lopes said in an interview, explaining that hotel occupation in the most tourist-heavy parts of the city could hit 100 per cent ahead of the concert.

Columnist Lauro Jardim from the newspaper O Globo said this month that the concert was scheduled for May 4, a date not yet confirmed by authorities or the 65-year-old singer.

Past free concerts at Copacabana, drawing up to millions of fans, have included the Rolling Stones, Rod Stewart and Lenny Kravitz.

Madonna kicked off her "Celebration" tour last October.

Madonna: MDNA World Tour

The MDNA Tour was the ninth concert tour by Madonna. Madonna had embarked on The MDNA Tour for promotion of her twelfth studio album MDNA. The performances at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida during the North American leg of The MDNA Tour were documented for video release. Madonna described the tour as "the journey of a soul from darkness to light". The tour was a commercial success although it courted a number of controversies. It was dubbed as the highest-grossing tour of 2012 by Billboard. Become the tenth highest-grossing tour of all time and overcome Celine Dion's Taking Chances Tour as the second highest-grossing tour among female artists, behind Madonna's own Sticky & Sweet Tour.
